Angelina Jolie’s Bodyguard Lays The Smackdown
Here are better pictures of Angelina Jolie sitting poolside at Le Meridien Hotel yesterday in Pune, about 200 kilometers southeast of Mumbai, India. Inset: Angelina’s security officer, Mickey Brett, manhandling paparazzi outside of Le Meridien. Angelina is in Pune to shoot Micheal Winterbottom’s A Mighty Heart, a film about American journalist Daniel Pearl who was slain by terrorists in Pakistan four years ago. Angelina plays Daniel’s widow Mariane. More pictures in the gallery…

First it’s necessary to separate the tabliod media in India from the real one. I have to say I’m very critical of the Indian media in genral. Everything is turned into infotainment and they don’t bother to separate fact from fiction. Like Brad said, this says a lot about our culture. But let’s not forget that this trend is happening in the U.S. too.
And let’s be honest in saying that the paparazzi in U.S. is also crazy (Britney almost dropping SPF incident, Lindsey Lohan’s car crash). So this is not an exclusive trait of the Indian media.
And also, we regularly have tabliod magazines here print what Hollywood stars eat, drink, where they live, where they vacation, what make up they use, what kind of underwear they wear, what kind of tanning cream they use, and all sorts of personal details.
The tabliod media in America and around the world is as intrusive as the tabliod part of the Indian media.
With all that being said, I am disappointed in how the media and some of the people in Pune are handling the situation. It could better handled and it should be better handled. I do think Mickey is bit tempermental but he is doing his job.
I also think that the Foreign media is also acting too ballsy and need to be put in their places. They provoke some of the local media to get testy and demanding too.
Brad and Angie seem to be handling this with patience (like always) but I do think if they move into that bungalow and make a appearance at some event or two, things will calm down. I know they are there to work but I think this would help calm down the craziness that is going on.
Hope they move into that bungalow soon because that place seems to have more space for them to walk around openly without getting pictures taken of them and then the information that is leaking would decrease.

thanks for the articles. I like what Irrfan Khan said. His movie, the Warrior was great and nice to know that Brad and Angelina watched that one. This guy deserves success. He stays out of Bollywood lifestyle and parties and just does his own thing and he is great actor to boot. And yup Satyajit Ray’s films are Classics. =)

I’m sure they would have had a good time in Kerala but they are their to work, not just chill out. Pune resembled Karachi and that’s why they have to stay there. It’s not a matter of choice on their part. If they were in India to relax and vacation, I’m sure they would be traveling all over the country, but they are their to work.
