Angelina Jolie’s Bodyguard Lays The Smackdown
Here are better pictures of Angelina Jolie sitting poolside at Le Meridien Hotel yesterday in Pune, about 200 kilometers southeast of Mumbai, India. Inset: Angelina’s security officer, Mickey Brett, manhandling paparazzi outside of Le Meridien. More pictures in the gallery including a clearer one Baby Zahara points something out to daddy Brad Pitt.
Angelina is in Pune to shoot Micheal Winterbottom’s A Mighty Heart, a film about American journalist Daniel Pearl who was slain by terrorists in Pakistan four years ago. Angelina plays Daniel’s widow Mariane. More pictures in the gallery…

oh i made a day of it. my nephew is in town so i took him out for lunch and then we saw the movie together. got thrills seeing Plan B and Brad Pitt in the credits. i was surprised at how funny the film was. i was doubled over laughing with every scene with alec baldwin. my only complaint is that that actress playing matt’s girlfriend was BOOOOOORRRIINNNGGG! who the hell was she anyway?
I must wait until December to see The Departed .

Enough already with Brad and Angie. Fine, they are the two best looking people hooking up. Brad has done a 180 and suddenly became a different person at 40 and Angie is a saint.
Admittedly she is doing good work but please, there are people out there with very small income who selflessly offer foster care to hundreds of kids every year - without the need to publicize it - doctors who volunteer to work in poor countries, with no protection of bodyguards, sleeping in sheds instead of bungalows, no clean water or chef to cook for them and receiving zero pennies or support and recognition. They are the people we should call saints. Angie’s heart might be true but enough with the sainthood…..

Right and Brad Pitt and she just gave 1 millin dollars to those doctors - so shut the **** up, the only people tossing the word ’saint’ around, are those usually trying to belittle what Angie and Brad do. We’re fans of them as actors and good people w/ big hearts and big pockets - enough said. My ass isn’t even Catholic, so that’s not even a word that readily drops from these lips.

I thought you people were very rude to Angelina. I am pretty sure that was Angelina. Or maybe it was Brad, playing around. who knows! You never know. Anyway, who’s to say they’re not aware of this blog and don’t take a second or two to read it.

Great about The Departed and The Good Shepard. So many
quality movies this season. Finally the arena is back to where it

LOS ANGELES - Angelina Jolie says she and Brad Pitt are disappointed they are not shooting “A Mighty Heart,” a film about U.S. journalist Daniel Pearl, in Pakistan where he was abducted and murdered in 2002.
Security concerns there caused officials to suggest they work elsewhere. So with the exception of a few background scenes shot in Pakistan, “A Mighty Heart” will be made in the western Indian city of Pune.
The Oscar-winning actress plays the slain reporter’s wife, Mariane. Pitt, Jolie’s partner, is the movie’s producer.
“I am disappointed that we could not shoot the film in Pakistan, a country that I love and have visited three times,” said Jolie in a statement issued on Saturday by Trevor Neilson, an adviser to the couple.
“They talked with people from all levels of the Pakistan government and there’s certainly no hard feelings. But it became clear that it was preferable to film in India,” Neilson told Reuters by telephone.
He said there was no release date set for “A Mighty Heart,” which is being made by Pitt’s production company, Los Angeles-based Plan B.
The film is based on a book by Mariane Pearl, “A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl.”
Pearl, a 38-year-old reporter with The Wall Street Journal, was kidnapped in Karachi in early 2002 while researching a story in the aftermath of September 11. A videotape of Pearl having his throat cut was later circulated by his killers.
English filmmaker Michael Winterbottom, famed for such war-based films as “Welcome to Sarajevo” and “The Road to Guantanamo,” is directing the movie.
In her statement, Jolie said “A Mighty Heart” is about “cross-cultural understanding and the values that people of all faiths share. This is not a film about terrorism or conflict, it is a story of people of all faiths working together to find the truth.”
Pune, a metropolitan area with more than 4 million people, is in Maharashtra state, about 80 miles southeast of Mumbai.

I chuckled when I read that the paps DEMANDED they have a press conference. That’s BALLS! From their perspective, I guess it couldn’t hurt to ask. I mean, you never know. And if they all banded together and started putting bad press out there about them, B&A could feel pressure to do just that, especially with the WONDERFUL press Mickey has been generating for them. Actually, it’s kind of funny. The paps are really frustrated because B&A ain’t makin it easy.
