Angelina Jolie’s Bodyguard Lays The Smackdown
Here are better pictures of Angelina Jolie sitting poolside at Le Meridien Hotel yesterday in Pune, about 200 kilometers southeast of Mumbai, India. Inset: Angelina’s security officer, Mickey Brett, manhandling paparazzi outside of Le Meridien. Angelina is in Pune to shoot Micheal Winterbottom’s A Mighty Heart, a film about American journalist Daniel Pearl who was slain by terrorists in Pakistan four years ago. Angelina plays Daniel’s widow Mariane. More pictures in the gallery…

Of course we are still cyber buddies. When I saw your post, I was surprised because I didn’t see any posts from you that got my goat. It’s the ‘jude’ posters and those posters from the O13 and Babel threads who were trumpeting Casey Affleck and Gael Garcia Bernel. It wasn’t directed at you. And yes, many of us are known for going on tangents, but the ‘judes’ who posted their crap tonight didn’t do it for any other reason than to irritate people.
I so jealous of everyone who had the opportunity to see The Departed.One of our kids is sick so the hubby and I couldn’t make it to the movies tonight.Thank you for the reviews,I really want to see it now!#481 CLINIQUA,Now be gentle with the Fanistons.You know this hasn’t been a good week for them,they need to let off some steam and blame Angelina and Brad for all of THE MANS problems.
Here’s my take on The Departed: Excellent, excellent movie. I think Nicholson is going to end up in supporting and Leo is going to end up lead. And I completely disagree with all 800 of you (LOL) who think the woman who plays Madolyn (Damon’s girlfriend) was boring. I thought Vera Farmiga was fabulous. She more than held her own in her scenes with Damon and DiCaprio. I sure as hell don’t know who she is but I do want to see more of her. However, I was most impressed with Mark Wahlberg. He stole the show in every scene he was in and imho clearly deserves at least a nomination. Also imo Scorcese will get nominated for best director and win. There’s no doubt in my mind and yes I realize he’s been snubbed a million times before but not this time baby. The Departed is just too good.
This year’s oscar race is shaping up to be a tough one in all categories but I’m counting on Brad making it in the top five. Please correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t his chances better if Babel is nominated for Best Picture. I don’t think movies, in general, are nominated for Best Picture without at least one acting nomination. I think it will go to Brad. *crosses fingers*
Re: Forest Whitaker. I too hear that his studio wants to push him in the supporting category but I read somewhere that Forest wants to go Lead and if Forest wants to go lead then Forest will go lead.

Great post Maniston!!! ..a.nd I hope you’re right about Forest (going lead) — he deserves it, because from what I’ve seen of his performance, no one can touch him, and I think he could take it.
Also, I’ve been waiting for someone to chime in about Mark - I think he’s underrated as an actor, he could have easily gotten a nomination for Boogie Nights in my opinion, I have never seen so much HEART (and other things - yeah I know it was prosthetic, lol)…but I think he’s an exceptional actor, and I want to see him as much as Matt and Jack and Leo. His brother Donnie is a great actor too!

Cournty Cox’s show sounds like something that will get canceled. Most of what is on tv gets axed anyhow.
On Showbiz Tonight they had a seg called “cheating co stars” They showed Brad and Angie repeatedly. I refuse to watch that ****. So stupid. Like Brad said in his interview. Its all about sensationalization and not real journalism.

Looks like Showbiz Tonight is exploiting BA again. They did a story about on-set romance and they focused on them. Dr. Judy said that they were the poster children for on-set romance and that AJ was BP’s ticket to bettering himself… that ***** is bitter. And her assessment that sexual scenes are the reasons feelings get turned on; MAMS had the Bogota scene and the post-attempted murder sex scene. The rest of the movie was them beating the crap out of each other. And hello, Kate and Owen, as far as I know, didn’t have any love scenes in You, Me, and Dupree; Kate’s character was married to the Matt Dillon character, so her argument doesn’t wash.

On a shallow note: It was great to see “Brad Pitt” in the credits. You could tell that it took the audience by surprise like they were saying “Brad Pitt? As in THE Brad Pitt?” LOL
So get out there and see this movie folks. Don’t wait for DVD. The better the box office receipts the better chance a good film is to be nominated for awards. A great box office doesn’t guarantee a nomination but it doesn’t hurt so remember this when Babel, The Good Shepherd (especially this one because it needs to do better at the box office than all the other movies I’ve listed), Running with Scissors and God Grew Tired of Us (I hear this opens in January but I’m still hoping for a limited release in December so that it can be considered for Best Doc.) open.

I can’t stand Showbix Tonight. They do segments like:
“Why aren’t Tom and Katie showing us Suri. ” They go on and on and on about it. And then when her pictures are shown they do segments about “Why is it such a big deal to show Suri”. They are absolute hypocrites.
The host always mentions the “media” as if his show isn’t part of the media too. I’m not a huge fan of Tom but this show has got to be the most hypocritical of the bunch. The rest of the entertainment shows simply show us the hollywood news. This show tries to make itself relavent by making every hollywood news an “issue” that needs to be talked about and they come out looking like hypocrites.
For days they reported about Mel Gibson’t car accident and what he said. Then one day, when they had milked the issue dry, they did a segment about “Why is the media making such a big deal about what happened with Mel Gibson”.
Aarrggggggh!!!!! This show irritates me so much.

Yes Showbiz is really a horrible show. U summed it up very well stardust.
I recall AJ Hammer- nice name lol- pretended to have a one on one interview in Namibia with Angie for Education Week. A reporter later called him out on it. Now, if a so called journalist lies about something as simple as an interview how is anyone to trust this person. They are the TMZ of enternainment shows. TMZ also goes on there quit freq.

Funny that you mentioned Kate Hudson and Owen Hudson. There is no outcry from the “Moral” public about them.
Also, I’ve been noticing that Kate Hudson’s pictures are being used in magazines more often and now her name shows up in some random polls too, just like X’s pictures started showing up in magazines and she started getting mentioned in every poll after the divorce. I thought to myself: WTF? Now the magazines are trying to keep Kate’s rep. up in the public. Just because she is another blond America’s sweetheart. I don’t really care what she does but I’m so sick of the way the media works.

That’s very nice of you to say. I don’t feel like one. I haven’t asked about your son or offered any kind of support. It’s not that I didn’t care. It’s just that I couldn’t fathom the fear and worry you went through and I am the type of person who doesn’t like to go there emotionally regarding personal pain on a public site. I don’t get it either. Kate and Owen hardly allowed any grass to grow before they hooked up and yet BA are pariahs? I don’t know if it has to do with Kate’s pedigree, but she definitely had a protection that AJ didn’t. Or maybe it’s the blonde hair. Despite Mansfield, Monroe, and Pam Anderson, blonde hair was often perceived as a sign of innocence and purity, whereas brunettes were associated with sensuality and danger. These attitudes are archaic, to be sure, but it seems that society is regressing to emaciated thinking. Fortunately, Kate will benefit from it; X already has.
