Anyhoo, look at Miss Angie reading her book. She and Brad are into all that efficiency lately, so I guess she’s using her 10 minutes in the car wisely, hahaha… No tabbies for her, for sure. She wouldn’t be caught dead reading garbage about herself, and it’s cool she truly cares enough to educate herself on the big picture regarding what is going on in the world. She probably sees people in LA spending money on the most useless and shallow vanities, so I understand her position in the Refugee mag interview.

RDT - I caught your shout-out on the last thread, and of course didn’t have time to respond and now it’s gone…but hey, that thread needed to die, anyway. Hopefully the negativity died with it.

I think its always easy to fall into calling women names when its someone you don’t like. But the min. the word is used against someone you do like its offenseive. That’s been my experience.

I don’ t think calling someone a ***** makes anything better. It is just the continuation of degrading women. I don’t care for Paris but I occationally cringe when some throws that word around. Look at her parents, the people around her. No one is discuraging her to stop being so “easy” and find a more fulfilling life. I’d call them some names before I call Paris a ****.

okay, so here’s my schtick. I like angelina, always have. I don’t like “brangelina” because I think brad is a bit lame in terms of just assuming the identity of whoever he is with. But that’s neither here nor there.

Why do I like angelina? (these are all ASSUMPTIONS because I don’t personally know her nor do I pretend to):
(1) she’s into humanitarian work and backs it up by visiting victims and donating $$$
(2) she’s very active, not too many pictures of her shopping/going to the spa/getting starbucks ala Paris, Britney, etc.
(3) she’s clearly a devoted mother
(4) she is goal oriented
(5) she doesn’t care what people think about her
(6) in interviews, she does not come off as someone who takes herself so freaking seriously or is pretentious about her life
(7) she’s always looking to improve herself and expand her horizons

NOTE–none of these reasons are because she’s “beautiful”–blah. 90% of hollywood is “beautiful.”

So I guess my question and my challenge to you is: how do you all think angelina would feel about the HOURS each of you spends each day on this site? You are hateful, you are cruel to anyone who disagrees with you, you freely use words like “****” “************” and you personally attack people for their opinions.

Rather than follow the example she sets by being people of ACTION, you are obsessed with “haters” and making useless points on CELEBRITY BLOG WEBSITE. None of you knew what “crimes of war” was about, you had to go to amazon to find out. Chances are you thought “crimes of war” had something to do with aniston’s interview with vanity fair.

I like the pictures on JJ and come on here about once a day to look at the ones he’s posted. I allow myself about 10 minutes a day of “vacation” times from work. Seriously, I wished all of you worked as hard on humanitarian issues as you on “defending” your idol.

I am not normally so hard on people, but Paris is just a total waste of skin and air. She has marketed and packaged herself and used her feminine power SOOOOOO incorrectly. I hate that young girls look up to her and want to be like har. She really grates on me, because she has had way more than her share of opportunity to really see the world and become educated and possibly help somebody else…..I mean, it’s like the girl has not ONE empathetic bone in her body. It’s like she’s so self-absorbed and superficial that she can’t see past the nose on her face. I know she’s certainly far from the only shallow rich person to ever come down the pipe, but she’s promoting this way of thinking to other young girls who look up to her as some kind of role model because she’s all over the media, and if she’s not a literal *****, then she’s certainly a fame *****.

I still have hope that maybe one day she’ll get hit upside the head with a brick and it’ll knock some sense into her, but now she’s already started with the run-ins with the law and all that, so right now, it’s not looking like Paris is going to have any epiphanys anytime soon.

I think her parents do share alot of the blame, as do Britney’s and LiLo’s.

Thanks Just Jared for the post. AJ looks great. AJ could be in the Mall or Paris shopping for the latest fashions that people can critique on blogs. However, she is minding her business on the way to her movie set reading a book that got people talking. Whether you think it is staged or not, it got people wondering and looking up information about the book. Every celebrity that I have seen on blogs have been posturing for the camera in one form or other. AJ probably feels that if she is going to be hounded by the paps then she will give the public something to reflect on. Nothing wrong with that. She is a smart woman who cares about world issues. However, some people would like for their celebrites to get into fights at Night Clubs, wear the latest fashions and hang out with their bestest friends. If I am going to admire a celebrity, I would rather that celebrity make me aware of issues, entertain me with their craft and be a role model in their giving. AJ and BP certainly do all those things. We are a throw away society and cannot handle realness in anyone. You can question BP and AJ motives all day long, the fact is they are humanitarians who not only give money but their time to various causes. Can you say the same about the celebrites that you admire?

Paramount Pictures has acquired screen rights to the Elizabeth Gilbert memoir “Eat, Pray, Love” and will develop it as a star vehicle for Julia Roberts.
Ryan Murphy will adapt and direct, with Plan B’s Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner producing.

Gilbert had a husband, a big apartment and a weekend home and was trying to get pregnant, until she realized that wasn’t the life she wanted. After a painful divorce, she set off on a journey of self-discovery around the world.

“Nip/Tuck” creator Murphy just teamed with Plan B on his feature directing debut, “Running With Scissors,” and set up a series titled “4 oz.” with Pitt and Gardner at FX.

Pitt and Gardner also are producing Murphy’s likely next feature, “Dirty Tricks,” a drama set up at Paramount Vantage with Meryl Streep attached to play Watergate figure Martha Mitchell.

Murphy’s hope is to get “Eat, Pray, Love” written and ready so he can make it quickly after wrapping “Dirty Tricks.” It’s a large-scale epic that covers four countries, and the author has rebuffed numerous overtures from actresses since the book was published.

Pitt, Jolie Donate to Namibia Hospitals

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt celebrated the birth of their daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, in Namibia on Saturday by donating $300,000 to help other babies in the southern African country, the government there said in a statement.

“We want to contribute to Namibia and the people who have been so gracious to us at this time,” Pitt, 42, and Jolie, 30, are quoted as saying in the statement.

Namibia’s Deputy Environment and Tourism Minister, Leon Jooste, says the money will be used to improve maternity wards at hospitals in Walvis Bay and Swakopmund and will contribute significantly to the health of Namibian babies
“The couple is thoroughly overjoyed by the event and have expressed their happiness to be able to share this experience in Namibia,” the government statement adds.

Although Shiloh was born at a private facility, most Namibians rely on state hospitals like the ones that will benefit from Pitt and Jolie’s gift, the Associated Press reports.

The new parents also pledged $15,000 for a school and a community center that they had visited in Swakopmund.

Earlier, Jooste had announced, “Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt will, according to Namibian law, be allowed to obtain Namibian citizenship, if the parents should choose to do so.” He added that discussion of the child’s passport will be taken up with her parents “at a later stage.”

“Angie and baby are fantastic,” a source close to the couple told PEOPLE on Sunday. “Brad was at her side during the birth.”

While Namibian officials declined to give details on the birth, a doctor at the hospital said there were no complications and the mother and daughter were doing well.

“She is a healthy baby,” the doctor told the AP, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release information.

There seems to be no control at all over the actions of the international paps who are allowed to endanger the Jolie-Pitts. This has the echo in my mind of Paris and Princess D. This situation is just ridiculous. Brad and Angie are there to work, and money is being pumped into this economy by the movie production. I am really surprised that the movie industry there, Bollywood, would not have worked to make this a smooth process so that other movies would be made there. The people in the hotel also keep running their mouths. They were in France for a couple of days and no one even knew or got pixs of them. First of all I think some of it is lighting and that Angelina’s natural color is showing through.

Remember in some interviews, she said when she started out in the business, no one knew what to do with her because she was too “dark” or “olive” complected to cast her for modeling gigs or film roles. Someone out there should be able to find that interview.

People do not drive within the line and there are so so many motorcycles and they also do not care about cars, so that I was really scared to death of hitting motorcycles. Also there are people who intentionally drive their own motorcycles in front of cars to be hit and get compensation from the car owner.

I am sorry if I offended anybody from India.
But the above was my experience in India.

Yesterday a cluster of them, 20-odd packed into five cars and a few more in autorickshaws, chased Angelina Jolie all the way from Le Meridien to Aundh. Angelina didn’t appear too perturbed, as she sat with her head studiously tucked into the book, Crimes of War.

As they reached Aundh, however, both the chasers and the chased came up against a unique roadblock – a pack of donkeys. Everything came to a standstill then, and the photographers could get a picture. Rob - Dude, I don’t know how to break this to you, but not everybody embraces the beliefs of everything they read. For instance - I like to read Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden books. BUT…that doesn’t mean I believe in his world of wizards, witches, fairies, vampires and skulls inhabited by spirits. It just means I like to read.

In Jolie’s case, she’s an ambassador for the UNHCR and as such she likes to be informed of all sides of the issues. Quite possibly she may even think that by reading the writings of those involved she can gain some insight into the people she’s meeting and places that she’s going.

Jim Carey, Ben Stiller, Will Farrell, the late Richard Pryor, Adam Sandler, Steve Carrell — these are all GIFTED writers — as in brilliant sketch comedy writers and genius stand-up comedians, for the most part.

They got where they are because they EARNED IT.

See…this is what is so delusional about this woman, she honestly is putting herself in the same category as these gifted and brilliant comedians who have their ‘one man shows’ as she describes them, and is crying over the unfairness of not being afforded the same opportunities (more whining). Yeah, perhaps we SHOULD shed a tear that Wanda Sykes can’t be the next Jim Carey, but why the f*** would we cry for YOU.

True, male comedians are much more likely to get those huge deals, and the female comedians are effectively locked out — this IS unfair…but guess what - Maniston is NO COMEDIAN!

TCR is the winner! It’s tied w/ last night’s ep as being my top favorite! I’m not a Star Wars fan but I love George for not barring fans from using his films for the challenge! And Stephen’s smile when Bonnie said that she felt “empowered” was great too!

I think they called it a “challenge” because contest winners and probably the show would have to pay taxes on the prize aka gift. And there’s probably other legal matters that’s involved in having contests. It was still awesome though!

This was a great post. It’s funny how you say she now considers herself a comedian.
“friends” made no demands on comedic talent. She mostly played hereself, and it was pretty easy light roles for everyone in that sit-com.

I wonder if Huvane is busy with his new “bride” and setting up his newly married life, and doesn’t think too well about the PR directions he gives her.
She probably bugs him to death, like she did with her analyst who died (maybe died from stress of having X as a patient).

I agree TCR is the winner. Good for Lucas for not making any kind of controvery out of this over the copyright laws. I have to say, Stephen has some of the most dedicated fans I have seen for any television show host. I was very impressed with the videos that were sent in. That tooks some hard work and pure talent, I tell ya.

I don’t understand how X’s fans can say she is classy. An actress with class would not call People mag on her own to refute a rumor printed by a tab.
