VERY GOOD PLAN B NEWS

From Variety
Paramount Pictures has acquired screen rights to the Elizabeth Gilbert memoir “Eat, Pray, Love” and will develop it as a star vehicle for Julia Roberts.
Ryan Murphy will adapt and direct, with Plan B’s Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner producing.

Gilbert had a husband, a big apartment and a weekend home and was trying to get pregnant, until she realized that wasn’t the life she wanted. After a painful divorce, she set off on a journey of self-discovery around the world.

“Nip/Tuck” creator Murphy just teamed with Plan B on his feature directing debut, “Running With Scissors,” and set up a series titled “4 oz.” with Pitt and Gardner at FX.

Pitt and Gardner also are producing Murphy’s likely next feature, “Dirty Tricks,” a drama set up at Paramount Vantage with Meryl Streep attached to play Watergate figure Martha Mitchell.

Murphy’s hope is to get “Eat, Pray, Love” written and ready so he can make it quickly after wrapping “Dirty Tricks.” It’s a large-scale epic that covers four countries, and the author has rebuffed numerous overtures from actresses since the book was published.

Gilbert sparked to a package spearheaded by Roberts, who next stars alongside Tom Hanks and Philip Seymour Hoffman in the Mike Nichols-directed “Charlie Wilson’s War” for Universal and Playtone.

In other Jolie-Pitt News: did you guys know that Angelina was part of a group who financed a documentary film called Refugee Allstars. It’s a band made up of refugees who are based in Sierra Leone. It was mentioned in the November Vanity Fair (the one with George Clooney). There is a soundtrack to this film that’s about to drop. Here’s a little more info:

Backed by the likes of Keith Richards, Sir Paul McCartney, Ice Cube, Angelina Jolie and Steve Bing – the resulting documentary film, “The Refugee All Stars”, has won a series of major awards, including the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the AFI Film Festival 2005, the Audience Favorite Award at the Miami Film Festival 2006, the Filmmaker’s Award For Social Change and the Emerging Pictures Audience Award (bestowed on the winner of voting by audiences in eleven cities) at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival 2006, Human Rights Watch Film Fest – Best of The Fest and Nashville Film Fest – Impact of Music Award. Sustaining hope in a landscape dominated by rage and loss is at the core of this heartbreaking yet life affirming story.

And while the film has been busy conquering the hearts of festival goers (including Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, who told Billboard “I was just so overwhelmed by the movie and the message of hope they’re carrying. Their music is so buoyant and joyful.”) it is the music of Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars that is now prepped to win over legions of new fans. On the heels of their first major tour — which included performances at some of the most prestigious music festivals worldwide including Bonnaroo, Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, The Ottawa Jazz Festival, The Folk and Roots Festival in Chicago, a headlining appearance at Central Park Summerstage, California Worldfest and The Fuji Rock Festival in Japan – the release of Living Like A Refugee is the realization of a seemingly impossible dream for the band.

RIP Corey Lidle.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may have forgotten their beloved
Namibia now they are in Pune, India. Shiloh-Nouvel was born in
the African country and the couple promised the Namibian
hospital where she was born a $315,000 donation. The donation
was also to help a local pre-school. A source claims that children of
the school are waiting for their dough.

“Either they have a really shoddy accountant, or they are
promising things in the moment that they have no intention of
delivering. The children at this school have been left waiting for
money that has never arrived.”

Ignore the x17 report. Here’s the real story.

From Pune Newsline.

Dodging paparazzi, Jolie’s convoy knocks down student

Vehicles jump signal on Senapati Bapat Road, hit motorcycle rider, pillion; speed away to Sindh Society

Pune, October 11:THE competition to capture Hollywood supestars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in camera took an ugly turn when their convoy knocked down a student who was riding a motorcycle on the busy Senapati Bapat Road on Wednesday evening. Eyewitnesses said the vehicles were trying to dodge international paparazzi when the incident took place.

They said the convoy of Pitt and Jolie also jumped the signals on Senapati Bapat Road and after knocking down the two-wheeler driver sped away without stopping. Though no one was injured, the motorcycle was damaged.

The student, Mittal Rawat (19), has reported the incident to the Janwadi police chowki.

Mittal told Pune Newsline that he was riding towards Vaikunth Mehta Chowk from Symbiosis’ direction at around 5 pm when the incident took place. ‘‘Two vehicles — Toyota Innovas — were also proceeding in the same direction and tried to overtake me. One of the vehicles brushed against my motorcycle and I fell down. Both the vehicles sped away without stopping,’’ he said.

Mittal said the accident took place while the driver was trying to dodge other vehicles that were trying to overtake him.

Eyewitness Nikhil George, a student who was also riding on his motorcycle, said the two vehicles had jumped the signal at the Senapati Bapat chowk. ‘‘Soon after jumping the signal, one of the four-wheelers hit the motorcycle. The rider and a girl riding pillion fell down, but had a narrow escape,’’ he said.

George said they followed the cars till Sindh Society. ‘‘The cars entered inside the Sindh Society, but when we tried to follow them, the securitymen at the society prevented us from entering,’’ he said.

One of the drivers in the convoy confirmed to Pune Newsline that the vehicle that knocked down the student was part of Pitt and Jolie’s convoy. He said neither Pitt nor Jolie were inside the car that knocked down the student. ‘‘It was the car carrying the securitymen,’’ he said.

Mittal, who stays at flat number A9 at Kunal Residency at Thergaon, is a third year BSc student with H V Desai College. Son of an ex-serviceman running a security agency in Ahmedabad, Mittal stays at Thergaon with his younger brother, who studies at Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military School.

Mittal’s father Manmohan Singh had come to Pune to meet his sons when the accident took place. ‘‘I spoke to Mittal on phone after coming to know about the accident. Thankfully, he is not hurt,’’ Manmohan Singh added.

okay jj and to fellow BAMZS fans….sorry…my bad :)

Regarding the $15,000 donation, do you guys really think B&A would risk their reputation for a sum like that? Heck, haters said on this blog that their $100,000 donation to the Daniel Pearl foundation is just like spare change to them. I don’t have to wait for any further clarifications from B&A, to know that the problem lays somewhere else, and not with them.

Pitt, Jolie Donate to Namibia Hospitals
TUESDAY MAY 30, 2006 08:00AM EST

By Stephen M. Silverman

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt celebrated the birth of their daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, in Namibia on Saturday by donating $300,000 to help other babies in the southern African country, the government there said in a statement.

“We want to contribute to Namibia and the people who have been so gracious to us at this time,” Pitt, 42, and Jolie, 30, are quoted as saying in the statement.

Namibia’s Deputy Environment and Tourism Minister, Leon Jooste, says the money will be used to improve maternity wards at hospitals in Walvis Bay and Swakopmund and will contribute significantly to the health of Namibian babies
“The couple is thoroughly overjoyed by the event and have expressed their happiness to be able to share this experience in Namibia,” the government statement adds.

Although Shiloh was born at a private facility, most Namibians rely on state hospitals like the ones that will benefit from Pitt and Jolie’s gift, the Associated Press reports.

The new parents also pledged $15,000 for a school and a community center that they had visited in Swakopmund.

Earlier, Jooste had announced, “Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt will, according to Namibian law, be allowed to obtain Namibian citizenship, if the parents should choose to do so.” He added that discussion of the child’s passport will be taken up with her parents “at a later stage.”

“Angie and baby are fantastic,” a source close to the couple told PEOPLE on Sunday. “Brad was at her side during the birth.”

While Namibian officials declined to give details on the birth, a doctor at the hospital said there were no complications and the mother and daughter were doing well.

“She is a healthy baby,” the doctor told the AP, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release information.

Back in the U.S., the manager for Jolie’s estranged father, Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, 67, told New York’s Daily News that Voight is “really excited for them both. He can’t wait to hold the baby in his arms and be grandpa.”

Pitt and Jolie, along with kids Maddox, 4, and Zahara, 1, have been staying at a luxury resort in Namibia since April, where their personal security team and Namibian police have shielded them from paparazzi.

Frankly frank n beans, I’ve been posting on this blog for a while and I have never heard from you before. If I’m to align myself to an opinion here you’ve got to do better than the argument you just provided. I believe Cliniqua’s better off not responding to your rant as it appears to be as empty as the non-existent ideas in Paris’ head.
