Angelina Jolie Reads “Crimes of War”
Angelina Jolie was just snapped reading “Crimes of War: What the Public Should Know” by Roy Gutman. Angelina, 31, was spotted reading the book on her way to the set of her upcoming film A Mighty Heart‘ in Pune, India. A Mighty Heart is about American journalist Daniel Pearl who was slain by terrorists in Pakistan four years ago. Angelina plays Daniel’s widow Mariane, on whose book of the same name the film is based upon.

I spoke with a couple of sources today who said that while the Pitts announced their gift shortly before leaving Africa, beneficiaries for the donation were never officially selected or named and the $15,000 off the top for the DRC was to be managed as part of the larger contribution.
In fact, at that famous press conference in Namibia, the Pitts said themselves that they would work with the First Lady of Namibia Penexupifo Pohamba to direct their generosity, believing that their money would best be put to use if recipients were selected by locals who were better informed.
My sources were also quick to point out it is not a question of blame but of philanthropic administration, not unheard of in the world of fund development, which is why the Pitts are loathe to comment on any situation that puts the onus on anyone else -

OK, it’s time for them to come home. India is not proving to be a good place to make a movie. There seems to be no control at all over the actions of the international paps who are allowed to endanger the Jolie-Pitts. This has the echo in my mind of Paris and Princess D. This situation is just ridiculous. Brad and Angie are there to work, and money is being pumped into this economy by the movie production. I am really surprised that the movie industry there, Bollywood, would not have worked to make this a smooth process so that other movies would be made there. The people in the hotel also keep running their mouths. They were in France for a couple of days and no one even knew or got pixs of them. How can they even bring the kids out of the hotel with all the uncontrolled chaos around them? Enough is enough.

It seems to me that skeptics will have to make up their minds. First, BA’s motives were questioned when they donated a large amount of money to a country that few ever heard of, the implication by most was that they were buying off the government. Now, the skeptics are poised to believe that they are reneging on their pledge. They are unethical because they pledged the money; now, they’re unethical for ‘reneging’. I see the decision-making by committee has convened, yet again. Goody!!

The casting of Angelina Jolie as the mixed-race wife of late journalist Daniel Pearl in new movie A Mighty Heart has been heavily criticised by black rights groups. Make-up artists are believed to have used special cosmetics to darken the star’s skin to match that of Mariane Pearl - but campaigners believe a real-life mixed-race actress should have been given the part.
Blogs on BlackLooks.org read, “I had assumed that the days when white actors took on the roles of black people had long passed away… There are mixed-race or black actresses who could have done a damn good job in this role.
“You can’t tell me that Halle Berry or other women of African descent wouldn’t have been a better choice - what is taking place here is an act of arrogance and whitewashing by people who think that because they are super-rich they can be anything they want.”

I think it’s more about not giving a f***! Just because she’s public figure doesn’t mean the public can or should dictate how she should live her life. Most women make it into their 40s before discovering this; she found that out pretty early. Good for her!

First of all I think some of it is lighting and that Angelina’s natural color is showing through.
Remember in some interviews, she said when she started out in the business, no one knew what to do with her because she was too “dark” or “olive” complected to cast her for modeling gigs or film roles. Someone out there should be able to find that interview.
The outrage is that not many AA know who Marianne Pearl is much less what she looks like.

These groups are trying to secure the acquisition of Marianne Pearl, nevermind that she is a fully functioning human being who approved AJ. And it was about her and her family’s tragedy. I guess it’s just flyspecks compared to the ‘greater good’.
I find the fact that JA keeps addressing the tabloid rumors very odd. Why doesn’t VV say anything, but just her? Is it because she has more at stake to appear like she is still loved? It doesn’t surprise me to see her coming out now again about her relationship. her dvd is coming out right? I don’t think she really loves VV, she wants him for her ego. She is setting herself up for heartache again. My 2 cents.

Angelina is living her life WTF? She’s a grown woman who is a citizen of the world. she lives life on her own terms. A majority of her fan base like her for exactly that reason. Obviously you don’t know Angelina.

I think the problem is that everyone wants to talk about Brad and Angie in the media to get attention. People should exercise patience and let them talk for themselves on how they spend their money, afterall it is their money. Also about the MP character, how many actresses can put themselves through what Angie is going through, this film was supposed to be shot in Parkistan, and it has been moved to India for safety reasons. I pray for their safety.

Where were these Black Organizations when MP was searching for her husband? I don’t recall that Jessie Jackson went over there to try and free her husband. Where was the NAACP or these other black organizations? Now that a movie is being made about her life and AJ is starring in the role, all of a sudden we have these so-called Black organizations offended. MP chose the person SHE identifies with to play her not these so called black organizations. I am Black and I support AJ in this role.
Angelina just likes to cause controversy non-stop.
