Brad & Cate ‘Babel’ On
Here are press conference pictures from the highly-anticipated Babel starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. The event took place last month (Sept. 28) at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City, Calif. Babel will open later this month (Oct. 27) in NY/LA. More pictures in the gallery!

It was also confirmed yesterday that Brad will star in the film version of the hit BBC political drama, State Of Play. Brad will play journalist Cal McCaffrey, who discovers ugly secrets surrounding the death of a high-profile politician. His investigation reveals a conspiracy, and both the British Government and the oil industry are involved.

You lost the wedding of the year….decade but gained something better. I’d like to think I had something to do with it….considering I cancelled the wedding. Is this the new issue? Goodness, they really have it in for her, don’t they? Why…I almost feel sorry for her. Almost…I said, almost…..so you all can just put those rotten tomatoes back. I guess she’s not helping matters by disputing every rumor out there. Jeez, when is she gonna learn in the war of words, the tabbies will always sin. The only weapon is silence…..seriously, how hard is that to do? Oh wait…..we are talking about a needy, high-strung tightly wound ball of neurosis here, aren’t we?
The press is always going to be up their butts about everything because they sell. a mere mention of Brad’s name on Oprah sent things off (even though she was comparing him to poop). If they can’t find facts they make things up or at the very least blow little things out of proportion. What concerns me is that it isn’t just tabloids anymore. so-called reputable networks and publications have jumped on the bandwagon. The more successful and happy Brad and Angelina become, the more they cement their realationship with family, the longer they last as a couple against all odds…..the more they are attacked and scrutinized. What is going on here is that when this exeptional couple got together under less than optimal conditions, It was “Yeah Brad wants to get him some of that Angelina.” mentality, and they were waiting for him to come undone when confronted with her “freakiness” . Now that not only did he prove them wrong on that point, but their relationship and careers are thriving, they must find other ways to bring them down. And they will not let truth get in the way! I see what’s really going on, and they do too.

This by far is the most well thought out reasoning why Brad and Angelina are attacked everyday. Well done and succintly put! I see what’s going as well and hopefully with time, others who are blinded by hatred will see it too.

I think what it boils down to is that Maniston’s fear of anonymity - of being a nobody, far outweighs her being a successful film actress who garners respect from her peers.
Neurosis sadly is right, most likely due to her low self-esteem (that she’d never admit)…she far more easily is able to see herself falling off the face of the earth and having NO career, than she is being an Oscar winner. …and so THAT is what is driving her to stay in the limelight, and put herself and her personal life out for consumption.
Part of her passive aggressiveness lies in the fact that she is so busy acting like she’s hot sh*t she won’t admit to thinking she herself is NOT hot sh*t. But she does. It’s what drives her, makes her whine, and bemoan (see the last ed. of US Mag) and basically made her make Brad’s life a living h*ll.
If she weren’t dumb enough to go to extremes, she might actually get somewhere, but unfortunately (for her), I believe she thinks thusly; Brad and Angelina are already respected and successful film actors in the industry with power….I am a tv sit-com star trying to get to their level…I cannot blink and make it so, it will take time and hard work which I am too lazy and incompetent to put in…but what I CAN do is take up space on Oprah’s couch and on the 7/11 magazine rack spilling the beans on my movie star ex and alluding to him and his new woman, while emphasizing my ’survivor’ skills to embittered jealous women everywhere…so that people don’t forget about me 3 years after ‘Friends’ has been of the air.
This is her priority, and I think she’s hoping that this kind of fascination (instead of hard work, and talent and respect from her peers) with her hair, her outfits and most especially her personal history….will garner her a movie career (notice how she’s whining now about the lack of big funny movies for women. It’s because she’s changed her strategy after having four flops of HER OWN, and some success with Vince’s film TBU. Her dream of being Meryl Streep (Bahahahaha!!) is kind of dead in the water. She wants to be a kind of ‘female Vince Vaughn’ and she’s NOW looking for the same kind of sh*tty scripts that put him on the map (Old School, TBU, Dodge Ball, etc.) but she cannot find any…and she sure can’t write them herself, she’s no Tina Fey — so she’s complaining about it publicly, maybe in the hopes that some writer will forward their funny project to her. She is at the point where she thought she’d never be post Friends, and that is, having to ride ‘Rachel Green’ to movie stardom, instead of being the dramatic actress she always wanted to be…competing with paltrow, Jolie, and on par with her husband.
Sorry Jen. At best you are the Ray Romano…only not as talented, not a comedian, and not a writer, as he is. Your problem, that he shares, is that people don’t want to see him on the big screen unless he’s a cartoon wooly mammoth. There’s your ticket Maniston, become some pixar weasel or bunny…and that might keep you in movie lights.

Reading your posts has been amusing. It is true we all see these people through our own filters. Your filters are truly rose-tinted, and perhaps have a lovely rose scent. Since when is a loner so self-centered? Mother Teresa could be called a loner too…will you call her selfish too, I dare you!
As for your next door neighbor reference, did you miss the picture of your girl telling off strangers who were walking the public beach in front of her rented abode?
I have also read volumes on parent child relationships and believe me, there is something deep-seated in JA’s personality where she will not forgive and it is eating her alive. This isn’t her mother’s problem; this is JA’s. Did it not turn your stomach when she decided to publicly announce she was going to contact her mother and then she put out little soundbites about spending Christmas with her??? Talk about using someone, don’t you see this as unhealthy and abusive? There has been a drumbeat about her behavior for years, perhaps it is her drugs that keeps her from moving on and getting healthy.
As for her VF interview, it was a blatant attempt to trash Angelina and cast her (JA) as a victim. In contrast, both Uma and Nicole held their head up high and did not take revenge. Uma in fact, said she was just as much to blame and said she would not trash her ex. How refreshing and mature.
I love this charity angle too, Jen is so giving. Did you ever catch the People mag that called her out for stiffing a Matt Perry hosted event in Cali after 9/11 so that she could go to Julia Robert’s birthday party? She said she was scared after 9/11 and didn’t want to go out in public, then they caught her at the party. Nice. She has been at photographed events for charity and been named chairman, all Huvane probably. Those are so tough to participate in, wined and dined and a goodie bag to boot.
I must say, it is interesting to read justifications by fans of shallow people. I hope someday you raise the bar on what you expect for your devotion.

I had to post this here also because whoever wrote this has done it so eloquently to explain why people cannot like Jen and it has nothing to do with Brad or how she looks.
Maria - Welcome to JJ’s! :) I’ve learned that trying to reason with those purposely who do not want to see facts but rely on their own imagination is useless.
I can translate the German article later tonight if someone hasn’t already, but I don’t have time to right now.
It has those same quotes from Brad about the children making him more efficient with his time and such though.

A few days ago, Radar Online printed a story about the Chosen Family’s suspect Namibian donation. I referenced the article on Wednesday with information from sources of my own, sources who were skeptical about the piece and who advised caution before accusing the Pitts of reneging on their philanthropic obligations - serious allegations, non?
At the urging of a few readers, I contacted Ivanna Iafigliola-Kriner, co-founder of the DRC School Project & Community Centre, the very school that the Pitts are alleged to have stiffed in the Radar article. I asked Ms Kriner the following: I have heard from many of my readers indicating that you have refuted the Radar Online claims and I am writing to find out from you directly if the US$15,000 was received by the DRC.
Ms Kriner: Yes we did receive the donation and are very grateful to Angelina and Brad for their support.
Point of the story?
The Pitts aren’t cheap. They didn’t bail on Namibia. But in a country where the need is so great and only so much can be pledged, it’s entirely understandable for other organisations to try to reach out as much as they can.

LILONGWE, Malawi - Malawi’s leading child rights group said on Friday it would seek a court injunction to stop pop star Madonna adopting a one-year-old boy if the government did not put on hold its interim order approving the process.
“It’s not like selling property,” said a statement by Eye of the Child, a day after Malawi’s High Court granted an interim order for Madonna to adopt the boy, named as David Banda.
“It is about safeguarding the future of a human being who, because of age, cannot express an opinion,” said the group, adding that the government circumvented its own laws to fast-track the adoption process.

Let’s see how long it takes for this story to be on every blog, because you know if this were Angelina, the bashing would have already begun.
Also, I see that everyone person out to do a good thing is bashed, I understand where the cynicism comes from but is bashing everything a person does necessary. I know Madonna does like the limelight and wants to stay in style but I do believe she is doing for the right reason, otherwise, I don’t see Guy Ritchie going along with this. It’s very easy to be cynical of Madonna but does anyone else feel that maybe she is adopting this child because she wants to be a mom again and not to join some bandwagon? Maybe it’s me and I’m the glass half - full kind of person but that’s how I see it. I also understand why this group is protesting the fast track process, but people will only comment that Madonna is being a diva again. Am I alone on this?

I’m sure this won’t get the attention the original claim that they stiffed Namibia did. People in certain websites love to read negative things about The Jolie-Pitts and ignore putting out the positive things. So sad.

I too am going to write Radaronline and ask for a retraction. They probably won’t give one but I’ll never know if I don’t try.
I’ve been luring at other sites, (nobody does any work on Friday, right?) This Madonna thing is cutting on both sides, and of course B&A are getting thrown into the mix. Back to the argument that B&A adopt just for the publiciy, etc. I don’t know what to think of Madonna, she was pulling the same denial dance JA is so well known for , and now this, a try at an expedited adoption. She doesn’t appear to be sincere.

I’ve never heard that one before. I have to admit though, that’s pretty accurate. mahjjong is like a card game with tiles - that’s my impression of it anyway - my whole family know how to play it.
Hey off topic a bit but if any of you ever see any Snoopy in Halloween costumes, pleas let me know. Love, love Snoopy and trying to collect as many as I can. Of course, BAMZS are my loves too.
