Angelina looks so beautiful and calm. One thing that I greatly admire about her is that she does whatever she pleases and doesn’t care what the rest of the world will think because she knows who she is and is secure in that. That is the major difference between her and X because X really really wants everybody to love her, sympathize with her, and understand her while Angie just does her own thing and doesn’t mind not being in the popular crowd. She’s so passionate about the things she cares about that she makes you listen and take note.

Here in these pictures..it doesn’t even look like she was ‘blackfaced’. It looks like she got a slight tan and had some curls put in. I’ve seen pictures of Angelina look darker than this. Here are three pictures that show Angelina has been darker than this in real life and she looks stunning in each one of these pictures.

Eyes, thanks for posting the Gala article. Unfortunately it’s crap, so how does the writer know what Brad and Angie are doing in the evening, he even knows what Brad confesses to Angie in great secrecy, haha, who can buy this story? i especially like this part:
‘Brad Pitt reaches for Angelina Jolie’s hand and pulls her outside. A little later the pair, that recently in a private ceremony at this beach promised eternal loyalty to each other, strolls along the ocean in the moonlight,’ This is a very nice fanfic lol.

If you have doubts, think about TIFF where Brad attended some parties in the night, and judging from the photos he didn’t seem like in a collapsing mode…..

I’m using some other people’s comments to explain this to you. Credit given to Piper, Passing Through, and some others who made some points that I meshed together. Hope nobody minds.

Halle Berry was lightened to play Queen, a mixed woman passing for White because her features and skin tone didn’t match the character. They should have gotten Jennifer Beals, but they didn’t. They could have even used Jasmine Guy who was upset that she didn’t get the lead role, but they didn’t because Halle had more star power. SO SHE WAS LIGHTENED LIKED ANGELINA WAS DARKENED YET THERE WAS NO OUTCRY THEN. Now Halle is going to be in a movie based on the real life story about a WHITE woman. Where is the outcry over Halle playing a white’ woman’s role. Even if Halle is not made to look white in her upcoming movies, she has been lightened in another movie.

It goes both ways. You didn’t see people complaining about Ben Kingsley playing Ghandi did you? And nobody complained when Anthony Hopkins, an old white guy, was cast as a black man passing for white in The Human Stain. And why did they put lighter makeup on Halle Berry when she starred in the miniseries ‘Queen’? The movie was about a slave girl who could pass for white; clearly Berry couldn’t pass for white, even with the makeup. Why not just hire a White woman? And what about DENZEL as JULIUS CEASAR on BROADWAY stage in NY..he did that part.

A Mighy Heart is about a woman who lost her husband; Angelina Jolie is clearly a woman; her race is only an issue to those who don’t want AJ associated with this project.

Marianne Pearl is Cuban, Jewish and dutch and raised in France - yes - her African lineage is obvious, but if SHE doesn’t call herself a ‘black’ woman or even more to the POINT, doesn’t feel that someone who shares that commonality with her HAS to play her in the film, then why are you chasing after her trying to induct her in the black woman’s club?? After all she approved of Angelina playing the part.

I don’t feel like I have the right to define Marianne Pearl. Marianne isn’t American and has a White father and therefore a whole different set of identity issues. It’s not for me to judge her based on how I choose to see her, it’s for her to derine herself and by agreeing with Angelina as the woman to play her, I think she’s spoken so I have nothing more to say about it.

AGAIN, this not about race, it is about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. By the way, why isn’t anyone making a big deal about the fact that HALLE BERRY IS PLAYING A WHITE WOMAN? By the way, here’s another point some of you people who insist on placing in a box, the European, Dutch, Cuban (part afro-cubano), Japanese, Jewish, Indian always fail to mention…I’m sure these filmmakers would like to have people actually turn out to SEE the film…because Jolie, a big star, is in it - and also because of her background and her world view. She fits. So remember that the next time you start lobbying for some unnamed actress of suitable ‘one drop’ background that you can pigeonhole into being what YOU want her to be, and not what SHE thinks/says she is.
