They just came out with statistics that more couples are now living together, raising families and aren’t married. More unmarrieds then married people in America so Brad and Angelina are the majority not the minority

Interesting. My husband and I have been married for years and have two children, but we never wear our wedding bands, and to tell you the truth, we did the whole church wedding thing to please our parents and we *do* live in Savannah, Ga, and the Bible Belt is alive and well around here. If I met him today, I seriously don’t think I’d want the whole church thing again. For us, and I guess more and more couples, it’s more about being together because we want to, not because either of us is bound legally to stay.

Brad did make that comment, I think in one of the Babel press interviews, about “two people with our track record” and how they were just as committed to each other. Somehow, that makes the bond more pure, just to be with someone solely because it’s your desire to be there. I can see them wanting that after their previous relationship mistakes. It’s a beautiful thing, I don’t care what the MiniVan Majority rails about.

P.S. I do not drive a minivan and never will! LOL!

Don’t get me started on the ‘track record’ comment — LOLOL….he did supposedly ‘laugh’ behind it, so the article said…but I just found that so interesting. First of all it appears Mr. Brad Pitt has done a complete turnaround from his GQ article where he was maintaining he did not look at his marriage as a ‘failure.’ LOL, this is when he was still in his, ‘we’ve kept the love we have for each other’ phase with Maniston. So he certainly wasn’t denouncing his own ‘track record’ at that time. But NOW…it appears Mr. Pitt acknowledges that Aniston was a big @ss mistake, and has pitched that ‘love’ right out the window. Getting stabbed in the back, betrayed, and having your character and integrity as a human being questioned and worse denounced, by someone you thought you had a bond with, will do that to a man. He now considers his track record with Aniston, not unlike his track record with GP. It looks like he admits he was wrong, and that he got suckered in both instances.

I don’t think Angie minds him speaking for her either - as she’s said in interviews much the same. That she married for the wrong reasons - that she married her friends.

Still, there’s a kind of illogic, to all of it that I don’t agree with. The fact that you made mistakes with others, shouldn’t inhibit you from trying again and affording that same symbolic promise to each other, that you bestowed upon your ‘mistakes.’ They both have admitted they still believe in marriage…it would be diff if they both poo-pooed marriage now, and dismissed it - but they aren’t doing that. So I guess my take is that, this is the one area where I feel that despite their obvious committment, and devotion as has been reported, they are caving to an insecurity — and letting external things determine what they do…and it’s the one thing that worries me, because the two people that I think I understand on so many levels, just wouldn’t do that…I personally think it’s Angie - I think if it had been up to Brad they would have married some time ago…..

…………..but I have a feeling she may be doing it, because she thinks it’s some kind of gift to Brad after what he’s been through in the press - and/or that ‘not being married’ has somehow come to mean more to her than ‘being married’ - as without that legal bind, someone is indeed freer, and if one is freer to leave, and they NEVER DO - then that must mean more than a legal marriage….that’s the only reason that meshes with their personality types, that I can think of right now. Anything else, i.e., that she personally just doesn’t want to, or that he doesn’t because they don’t believe in it anymore…or whatever….doesn’t jibe with what I’ve read about them. Maybe we’ll read more about it in Vogue, or maybe not. I personally think that unless they fully reveal their own personal reasons, they should just shut up about it…as flippant things (our track record, or we will consider it when gays can) are disingenuous, and that isn’t like them either. It’s the one area where I think they are being a bit subversive with the public.

In what well may be the year’s most A-list baby shower, Tobey Maguire’s fiancée, Jennifer Meyer, celebrated the couple’s upcoming arrival at a girls-only affair in Malibu on Sunday afternoon, PEOPLE reports in its upcoming issue.

Jennifer Aniston carpooled with Courteney Cox Arquette to get there, joining such other guests as Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson, Demi Moore, a pregnant Bryce Dallas Howard and some 50 others.

Around the Meyer family pool and lawn overlooking the Pacific Ocean (Jennifer’s dad, Ron Meyer, presides over Universal Studios), the women passed the time swilling lemonade and eating such organic hors d’oeuvres as sesame shrimp and chicken skewers before the buffet lunch and lavish dessert table.

“It was a very mellow afternoon,” says one guest. “It was a totally easy breezy, chill shower. No shower games. No present opening. Just hanging out.”

Not that there weren’t gifts. The mom-to-be got goodies from L.A. baby boutique Petit Tresor and parenting advice from Hudson, her friend since childhood.

Disobeying the women-only rule, Spider-Man star and dad-to-be Maguire poked his head into the party around 30 minutes before it wrapped up, only to be showered – appropriately – with kisses.

Tijen I was watching them again and he reminds me of Jon Stewart a bit, his expressions and all :lol: OK back to email…..

…oh and Truth Teller, I also think that it could have been March, and that Kenya (april, loud noisy lovin’) wasn’t necessarily the first time…supposedly they were scene ‘canoodlin’ as they say that Parker Spring Meridien in Palm Springs while they shot the W photos over the course of a few days -I recall back then, when Brad was responding to tabloid crap, perhaps to keep Maniston pacified…the rep denied it and was quoted as saying they stayed on opposite sides of the hotel..still people says they saw them in the pool kissing.

It is/was possible that they held off…until a few weeks later (April in Kenya), hence the jungle lovin’. LOL

Well as much as this would be good, the lack of one means that the family is enjoying time away from the stalkers and that’s agood thing, non?

Let’s not forget: Ophanages AREN’T libraries & kids AREN’t books! You don’t go in, pick 1 or more out, sign 4 them and bring them back when you’re done. It’s a whole other matter indeed. Background checks, criterias met, etc.

I remember reading somewhere that Angie had taken Maddox with her to the orphanage to be interviewed for consideration to adopt. The Supervisor was said to have said, “Maddox picked her! While conducting the interview with Ms. Jolie I noticed her son looking at the babies before going to one crib, slipping his hand through and taking her hand. Then he turned to his mother and said, ‘HOME!’. That was it!” About 6 months later Brad went with Angie & Maddox to finalize the adoption and take Zahara home.

I wish I knew where I read it–I’m 99% sure it was also mentioned on CNN. Maddox was around 3 or 3 1/2. Ppl made a big deal. Babies don’t choose babies… and stuff like that.

At least Angie chose 2 include Maddox in bringing another child into the families. Most others don’t.
