Baby Zahara & Her Bracelets

Baby Zahara & Her Bracelets

Baby Z was spotted wearing bangles (those are like totally so in right now) in the arms of daddy Brad Pitt earlier this week. Zahara is almost two and cute as a button! She was carried by Angelina Jolie’s security officer Mickey Brett earlier this week as well.

127 | malibumom | Well good for u, like someone said, they were in a beach town, and they might have just returned from the beach and headed on the plane. There is NOTHING wrong with how Zee looks!!!!!

Zahara is an Oromo an ethnic group…here is a picture of them.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/a/af/Dej_Balcha_Aba_Nefso.jpg/200px-Dej_Balcha_Aba_Nefso.jpg (looks like a Native America uh?)

Wow! Great accessory!

Willard G. Oxtoby @ 10/21/2006 at 7:35 pm

Shiloh must be cute too, I dont know. The only pics I have seen of her are airbrushed pics from people and she was cute there…but her momma should stop giving her special treatment by not letting her get photographed. Thats the thing I hate about Angelina - she shows off her adopted kids and hides her biological child from getting photographed.

BCBG, you are CORRECT!

I think people are disrespectful calling her an “African-American.”

It shows people don’t even care to learn this sweet babies lineage. They just label her and run with it. When Maddox was first adopted if people didn’t know what he was they were like “Cute Chinese baby.” I remember when I was younger, every Oriental person was called Chinese!

Hun. where’d you get your information? ’cause she looks Bantu to me.And they are from the sub sahara

damn! It just struck me. It’s so surreal. Zahara’s daddy is Brad Pitt. And Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are together and have three kids together.
So VERY VERY surreal. It’s been almost two years and yet people are still having difficulty with that concept. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are mommy and daddy. I wonder if they have to pinch themselves to make sure all of this is really happening.

========================

I have the same reaction, I am too still in shock that these two are together and so happy.

I think that’s the reason the curiosity of the media is sooooo big . People cant believe that this is happening, lets not forget that in january of 2005, Brad and Jens were still a reality and now, less then two years later Brad and Angelina are the most famous family in Hollywood.

I gotta say it…Brad & Z…awwwww.

They are so cute.

The first post did not go through - Anyhow, I simply love Zahara’s hair. It works for her. She looks adorable in this picture with her dad Brad. The bangles are working as well.

Zahara looks very secure in this picture with her dad. She looks very content. I love this picture. Also Brad is a professional with carrying children and diaper bags.

798 | Somaligirl | All African Americans (Black people) do not have the same hair texture….. if u go on the Carol Daughter’s website u will see that their daughter who they formulated the kids hair product for does not have course hair. Please give B&A some credit…..

Somaligirl…I hate to beak it to you - but technically, scientifically, there’s no such thing as “race.” Really. You can look it up if you like.

As you state, are people in Africa mixed with other ethnicities much like people on most other continents? Why of course. But you sound very ignorant when you lump other Africans (of different ethnic background than yours) and African Americans into one group and say they have the same hair texture. That’s hilarious and WRONG. 95% of African Americans have other admixtures in them - having been in the Americas for 4 centuries…mostly European and Asiatic in the form of Native North Americans…so to say their hair texture is exactly alike is preposterous…hair could be anywhere from fine and silky straight to coarse and kinky and everything in between.

Black hair care products that are worth their salt, are created with this in mind. But that aside, blacks wherever they hail from don’t have to use ‘black’ hair care products, they can use products that aren’t ethnic specific as well…

Please get a clue somaligirl…the world’s people are pretty much all admixtures - and so you’ll find a variation of every different skin tone, and hair texture — particularly regarding African Americans…your comments were erroneous.

Ethiopians are gorgeous people with beautiful skin and hair…i love that supermodel from ethiopia liya kebede….picture below

angiefan:

good, i’m glad we are right.

Mad will always be a Cambodian because he was born there even he has an American citizenship.

A child born in the United States with both parents being Cambodian will be called Cambodian American or a Cambodian born in America

there is this acronym
ABC=American Born Chinese
ABJ = American Born Japanese
ABK= American Born Korean
ABV=American Born Vietnamese

Can we please understand the definition of “African-American” Zahara is not an “African-American” She is an “Ethiopian-America”

The term African America is used for the ancestors of slaves. Like Oprah is African America. Northeast Africans are not “African-American”.

124 | AngieFan
————————–

This too is untrue.

‘African American’ is used for one reason only because descendants of slaves, had no place to pinpoint from whence they came in Africa and still wanting to include a point of origin and identity in the descriptive…the term ‘African American’ was begun. That doesn’t mean, if someone from Kenya comes here, they cannot call themselves ‘African American’ THEY CAN…as they ARE…but knowing their cultural background, they could also call themselves ‘Kenyan Americans.’

There are no hard and fast rules to any of this.

I recalled Tracy Morgan on SNL, doing the opening monologue with Charlize Theron (South African) - and she referred to herself as ‘African American,’ she was joking…but the point is the same…this isn’t a matter of LAW or anything…you can identify in whatever the f* way you want to, bottomline.

Just because she has an afro she doesn’t look well groomed? THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ZAHARA HAVING AN AFRO!

137 | Aleezah

Yeah, she looks very secure. She’s come a long way, baby!

Don’t you LOVE it?

Zahara looks as beautiful as always. She is their African Princess and always will be. There is nothing wrong with her hair. You guys have spent a whole afternoon discussing her hair!!!
Have a great evening everyone.

remember da truth @ 10/21/2006 at 8:10 pm

Hi everyone!! I’ve had a hectic couple of weeks, and so glad to
have time to come to JJ’s, and look!! A pic of my favorite — ZEE!!!
I just love the regal look she has, she is soooo cute and as
someone pointed out, obviously intelligent. Always looking at
everything.
#110 dina
LOVE your post!! You sound like someone I’d like to sit and chat
with.

So the discussion is about hair? My mother, a white woman,
worked in an area where she was the only white woman. She saw
black kids and black women’s hair a lot and would tell me how
important hair was. The women would wear hats if they couldn’t
get their hair right that day. many times the kids would wear
hats. Sometimes, just letting it be as an afro was okay, giving it a
break, or if they didn’t have time to fuss with it, but it wasn’t a
general thing, and if the hair was neglected regularly, “nappy
headed” was used as an insult. So Zee has poofy hair here —
doesn’t mean that’s always the case.
And even if it is, maybe they are letting her hair be an afro for a
while, like Macy Gray, but it is still combed.
I agree about maddox having a Mohawk out of how it grew. I
remembeer when he was a baby in an interview Angie saying she
had to laugh because his hair grew in as a mohawk, and stood
straight up in the back. I had a friend whose granddaughter was
half Filipino and the baby was a girl and did the same thing! Stood
straight up, and grew like a Mohawk until she was almost two.
Maybe Angie just let it be natural, to find its own style, and is
doing the same with Zee.

LOVE the bracelets! Zee is getting to that age where she is aware
of clothes and girl’s accessories. Until age five, she will likely go
through a big I’m A Girl stage. This is the age that Disney
markets its Princesses to, and a little older for those who remain
girly girls. It’s so fun to watch, and the boys are definite about
wanting to show they are Boys, and looking up to Daddy and
other male role models in their lives and copying them. So cool
that they have Brad for them, and Angie is letting them find their
own style and be themselves and express themselves.

Alexanderina @ 10/21/2006 at 8:10 pm

People stop the craziness about Z’s hair, I think that she looks beautiful and I love her hair, and I think that B&A are doing a fine job with her hair, my goodness she is not quite 2 years old and people are making a big stink over her hair. They are trying to do the best they can with Z’s hair, and I have to say thanks to Brad for the shout out to Carol’s Daughter Hair Product, because I ordered some hair product from them, and I got them and use some of them today when I washed my hair.

Z’s hair looks fine to me. Just because it’s not braided doesn’t mean it’s not combed, or taken cared of. They have a nanny, remember? And her name is Patricia, not Agniezks.(can’t help to name drop )

And just who decided that ****? If someone’s ancestrial link leads back to the continent of Africa no matter where the hell they ended up or how, they are Africian freaking fill in the damn blank! This is getting nuts! Only black folk do this crazy crap trying to pin down identity, hair issues, skin tone issues and it sucks. I’m a carib mutt, but you best believe that the continent of Africa bore me first.

jpf

Yes, and all this stuff about ethnicity and hair texture and blah blah blah….

I forgot to say, I think Zee’s hair looks adorable…they could keep it short just like that, and ina little curly fro’ and she’d be rockin’….it probably just looks a little unkempt their because for all we know the child had been napping for a few hours on her Daddy…give the baby a break please.

Lord, black folks and their hair issues….

I can just hear Zahara being interviewed on TV one day by an old @ss Katie Couric, laughing at how her Mama and Daddy had a time with her hair.

The child is adorable, period.

re: #64 Caplocks, #67 Spamthehaters and #72 Guli response to Canoodle.

I think Canoodle might be referring to the type on the “leave a reply” section. It is small and even enlarging the forum font doesn’t help enlarging the “leave a reply” font. For someone who is legally blind, it would be difficult…it’s difficult for us “presbyopes” (those who need reading glasses) and if one wants to ensure his/her own text is flowing the way one wants it…this new JJ forum system is not like the old one where you could view the text more easily before submitting it.
The new rule that “all haters post in caps” might be unfair to those like Canoodle who “may” have a legitimate problem reading her own text before it is submitted. Please reconsider in all fairness to Canoodle and others in her position. They are already left out in so many ways. I know BAMZS posters would not want to be unfair if they just thought of the other persons point of view. And re: #67post “explain being legally blind”…the disabled person doesn’t always feel comfortable having to explain their situation whether or not from pride, shame and embarassment…it places him/her in the position of being the victim (because non disabled people often view them as such) and consequently the disabled are having to “explain” something very personal and thereby find themselves placed in a separate category than the norm. Why not just try to read the jist of the post before labelling someone a “troll”, then if they are a troll/hater, call them for what they are but give someone a chance first. Canoodle was compelled to explain herself because “she was forced out”, it probably was difficult for her to announce that she was “legally blind” to a forum of strangers. I’ve mentioned in the past that I have a number of degrees, most of the regulars know from previous rare postings one is in Counselling and Mental Health, another (and I’m not lying) is I am optometrist. Give Canoodle a chance, folks. Thanks for reading this.

#151, great points - thanks for making us think about something that would ordinarily escape us. I hope Canoodle continues to post - and the caps are fine with me. I find myself making mistakes w/ this tiny @ss font and little box, and I’ve got good vision, so I can’t imagine how hard it must be for someone who does not.

Trust me , all kinds of people have this debate. You do not want to get a couple of Indians together in a room and talk to them about skin color and skin whitening creams, and how beauty is percieved among Indian culture. This kind of debate occurs among many groups of people. As long as people don’t pressure or force others to follow their own way of thinking, I see discussion as a good thing.

So with that being said I have to saw : AWW. Zahara looks very cute and I love her Bangles. They can do whatever they want with her hair, she’ll always be a beautiful little girl. :)
