If you missed the debut last month, these were the very first official Suri Cruise pictures from October 2006 issue of of Vanity Fair. Proud parents Tom Cruise, 44, and Katie Holmes, 27, were on the cover with their beautiful baby girl. Katie Couric first revealed these pictures during her broadcast of CBS Evening News saying, “After much speculation as to why she’s been undercover for so long, here is proof positive. Yes-Suri (Yessirree), she does exist!!”
Vanity Fair’s celebrity go-to photographer Annie Leibovitz snapped the photos at Tom’s home in Telluride, Colorado back in July when baby Suri was 3+ months old. Tom said, “It seemed only natural to have Annie take the first public photographs of Suri. Annie is the only professional photographer who ever shot Bella and Connor as children.” The magazine scans can be found here.

On the cover and in the pic # 9 Suri looks a lot like Tom. In the picture # 8 she’s a mini -Katie. In the other pics she’s a mix of both. Love her!!!!!!!

why do we have to compare babies? I think both Shiloh and Suri are just gorgeous babies in their own way. Is there some kind of baby beauty contest they have entered that I dont know about? Besides, the important thing is both children seem to be greatly loved by their families.

First of all, I’m a buddhist. Second, what do YOU get out of this? I really want to know. What do you get out of ripping on Suri or her parents? How does this bennifit your life? So what if he’s a scientologist? How does that affect you? Everyone has the right to believe in whatever religion they want to believe in. What religion are YOU? I’m guessing a satan warshipper because all other religoins pretty much teach the same thing, which is to help and be good to everyone. This concept seems lost to you!

The point is that many people have doubts as to whether Suri is Tom’s genetic offspring. And the sudden and highly unusual way that he got together with Katie in the first place…..story goes that he interviewed a few candidates and katie passed…..gives pause for thought. I have my own ideas on why a partner/wife and child suddenly became top prioity for him. Its connected with staying on top of the Hollywood food chain and right now he’s losing badly. Image is everything in la la land.
LEs- I wasn’t talking about the baby being airbrushed… I was talking about the pictures in general being touched up. There is always *something* that isn’t perfect so they always go back and retouch them, which changes the picture, duh! Plus you have to consider lighting and different camera angles. These people don’t consider such things at all… it’s not like those pictures are exactly the same… there are differences, and that’s why she looks different in them.
Posh_Fan - I totally agree. It seems ridiculous that grown up people would be jealous of a baby, but it seems that way. Or maybe they’re just jealous of the fact that their children aren’t as beautiful as Suri.
Every parent thinks tha ttheir own child is the most beautiful in the world. To hypothesise that jealosy is the reason behind antipathy towards Tom is absurd.
exotic - How ignorant can you be? Most babies have those eyes when they’re first born. Get a life. How can that baby possibly be “asian” if she looks just like her parents. She has white skin, and dark hair (like her parents)… and it seems to me that her eyes are slightly bluish. I know most babies are also born with blue eyes and they change later on… but she’s definitely 100% white.

Love is such a wonderful thing, isnt it? My parents met and were married two weeks later and guess what? They are still happily together and just had their 35 year anniversary last week! Just because YOU can’t find love doesnt mean it doesnt happen to other people!

We all have different views and opinions. You can say whatever you want, you can believe Tom is sane. That’s fine. But I think Tom isn’t sane. I used to like Tom C. a lot, but he really is out of control these days. I can tell he’s very controlling, and weird. And you can’t deny it’s all from my imagination. Get over it. I won’t say anything about Suri, since the whole thing about Tomkat pregnancy thing is weird. I don’t think Tom is ever going to get back to that super-star status. Sure, he’ll still be famous. julieRAGE - Look at your own photos as a child… Unless you were blonde, you looked “asian” as well. Most babies have epicanthal folds on their eyes- get a clue.
And the child WILL grow up… we WILL see what she looks like later on, and I’m 100% confident that she’ll grow up to be a beautiful little Caucasian girl (like her parents). Do you really think that they would adopt a child of a different race KNOWING that the child will eventually grow up and that the facial features will give it away?
