Brad & Cate Do ‘EW’
Wahoo!! Oscars all around!! I present to you the inside photo spread of Babel’s Brad Pitt & Cate Blanchett inside this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly November 3, 2006 issue. Here’s an excerpt from the article (full article after the jump):
Cate Blanchett was marinating in a puddle of blood on a dirt floor somewhere near the southern edge of the Sahara. Brad Pitt sat nearby, slumped over on a rock, sweat pouring off him. The temperature hovered near 112 degrees in the tiny Moroccan village that had become home to the cast and crew of Babel, the politically charged four-part epic from Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu (Amores Perros, 21 Grams). This place was seriously primitive, beyond the reach of electricity and, for the most part, running water. Air conditioning? Not a chance. Indoor toilet? There’s only one: See the village elder.
Lost in Translation
How the director of ”21 Grams” pushed Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, and a multinational cast through ”Babel,” his epic four-sided saga of sex, drugs, guns, and terrorism spanning three continents and several gulfs of misunderstanding
To make matters worse, González Iñárritu, in his quest for supreme naturalism, had just asked them to perform Cate’s near-death scene for the 73rd time that day. The pressure was off the charts and there was just one distraction powerful enough to keep the two actors from going completely bonkers¦
”It felt out of control,” Pitt says over a year later, in a luxurious, climate-controlled Los Angeles hotel suite, recounting the weeks he spent in a state of ”frenetic anxiety” on the Babel set. ”I thought it was going to push me over the edge.” Suddenly, the 42-year-old actor leaps to his feet to demonstrate that crucial survival tool. With a hint of dramatic flourish, he grabs hold of his belt loops and yanks his jeans up to his armpits, giving himself a deep-impact wedgie of what must have been the most painful sort. ”Throughout the movie, I’d walk around like this,” Pitt says, thrusting out his backside and waddling around like a duck. It must be said that watching Pitt transform himself into an Urkel-like superdork is a sight so perplexing, it could divert a person from just about anything. ”You’ve gotta find things to make you laugh during the shoot. Cate called it the Hungry Bum.” He pauses and chuckles to himself. ”When your bum’s so hungry it’s trying to eat your pants.”
González Iñárritu’s globe-trotting melodrama was shot in six languages and on three continents. As ambitious as it is intimate, the narrative interweaves a quartet of sorrow-soaked vignettes: An American couple vacationing in Morocco (Pitt and Blanchett) are forced to depend on the kindness of strangers when struck by catastrophe; a family of Berber goatherds unravels after buying their first gun; a nanny (Amores Perros‘ Adriana Barraza), torn between work in San Diego and family obligations in Mexico, is thrown into an immigration quagmire; and a deaf-mute Japanese girl (Rinko Kikuchi) tries to cure her loneliness by prematurely uncorking her sexuality.
Babel (see EW review here) takes its title from the biblical allegory, in which man’s hubristic attempt to build a tower to the heavens compels a vengeful God to create a cacophony of different languages that stymie communication and isolate people from one another. Using this as his metaphorical jumping-off point, González Iñárritu tackles some of the most provocative issues of our time post-9/11: globalization, immigration, the spectre of terrorism. ”The film is about prejudice,” the director says, ”and the dangerous borders and walls we build that affect [communication] personally. And on a global scale, between George Bush and the Muslim world.”
Mixing politics and moviemaking has always been a dangerous game. One false move can mean the difference between Traffic and All the King’s
Men. But González Iñárritu’s single-minded determination about the project persuaded some of Hollywood’s biggest power players — Pitt, Blanchett, and Paramount’s Brad Grey, who agreed to back the movie in his first week on the job as the studio’s new chairman — to take a risk. It’s a gamble that’s already begun paying off: González Iñárritu collected the Best Director award at this year’s Cannes film festival, and the movie drew a raft of raves at Toronto. Now Babel looks poised to be one of this year’s leading dark-horse Oscar contenders. And Pitt’s nakedly emotional performance has placed him in the Academy Awards running for the first time since being nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1996 for 12 Monkeys.
All this comes at the end of a long, tough slog. The Pitt/Blanchett story line was just a quarter of the journey for González Iñárritu and the rest of the core crew, who crisscrossed the globe for more than a year, shooting under arduous circumstances.
Dehydrated crew members in Mexico, for example, had to be hospitalized. Appropriately enough, communication was particularly difficult: The young deaf actresses in the Japanese plotline required a series of translations, from González Iñárritu’s native Spanish to English, English to Japanese, Japanese to sign. ”I had three pains I thought were heart attacks during production,” recalls González Iñárritu. ”To make this film was to give birth to a boy with four heads. Painful.”

Hate to sound like Paris but, THAT’S HOT!
Oscars, Oscars, Oscars!
EW continued (this part about Brad)
Ultimately Blanchett was won over by the sheer challenge of making something out of almost nothing. ”I had one scene to communicate everything and then had to enter a [near-death] state,” she says. ”But it was really about Alejandro’s passion for me to do it in the end. We all like being flattered.”
Pitt, on the other hand, showed up like a gift on González Iñárritu’s doorstep
The star pursued the role before the script had even been sent out to actors. His interest was fueled by a longtime desire to work with González Iñárritu and by Babel’s underlying message of one-world unity, which had taken on a powerfully alluring personal dimension for him. The actor had recently become a father figure (and, ultimately, adoptive dad) to Angelina Jolie’s growing multicultural brood — Maddox, from Cambodia, and Zahara, from Ethiopia. ”Our kids come from different parts of the world, and it’s the perfect example of, if we didn’t have these perceived differences we wouldn’t be defined by geography,” says Pitt, who has since added another member to the family, Shiloh (the couple’s first biological child, she hails from the land of the genetically blessed). ”What I liked most [about the script] was this idea that we’re all the same, and it’s our lack of understanding and lack of communication that gets in the way.”
But Pitt was far from the obvious choice to play a middle-aged Everyman who is quietly crushed by his powerlessness to protect his family. González Iñárritu felt that in order for Pitt to be credible in the role, the actor would have to dial back his alpha-male charm considerably. ”My goal was for the audience to forget they’re watching Brad Pitt,” González Iñárritu says. ”If that didn’t happen, it would f— the film.”
Pitt was more than happy to shed his celebrity skin. Over the past few years, between big-budget bonanzas like Troy and the Ocean’s movies, he has on occasion flirted with — but pulled out of — challenging roles in auteur-driven projects, such as Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming sci-fi epic The Fountain (in which he was to star opposite Blanchett; the two will costar next in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). ”I was caught in the leading-man trap,” Pitt says. ”I was trying to find my place. It’s a luxury to be invited into that forum, but it’s also a dead end.” This time, he took to dismantling his image with relish. He embraced the idea of aging himself as a way to morefully disappear into the character. And he personally sought out makeup experts to do the job.
Casting two huge marquee names in an ensemble movie brought its own set of hazards. The vignette in which they appear together stands in stark contrast with the others, which are populated with faces unknown to American audiences, except for Gael García Bernal (The Science of Sleep) and Japanese superstar Kôji Yakusho (Shall We Dance?). The patriarch of the Berber family, for instance, is played by a local Moroccan carpenter. Pitt and Blanchett’s star power could easily have thrown off González Iñárritu’s four-way juggling act if he wasn’t careful. ”This was a very democratic film,” he says. ”Every character was crucial. There were no principals.”
Still, Pitt’s superstar clout came in handy in nailing down the film’s approximately $20 million budget and González Iñárritu’s complete creative autonomy. Ultimately, the financing came together from an assortment of investors including Paramount, a natural home for the project since Grey had been Pitt’s producing partner. (Babel then became the inaugural release of the studio’s new specialty division, Paramount Vantage.)
Once production was under way, González Iñárritu was constitutionally incapable of taking the path of least resistance. He set out to extract documentary-style realism from actors and non-actors alike. Scenes could take days to shoot. ”For me it was orchestrating madness,” says the director, who pushed Barraza — a two-time survivor of minor heart attacks — to her physical limit as she carried her young charge (Elle Fanning, Dakota’s sister) for hours in blistering heat. ”I’m a torturer,” the director concedes. ”I’m kind of bipolar. When I’m happy, I’m the most excited guy in the world. But when I’m not I can be really frustrated. I don’t know how people survived.”
He could also be blunt. The time-honored Hollywood custom of massaging a star’s ego was never part of the agenda. ”He used to just come in and say, ‘I don’t believe it,”’ recalls Pitt of the director’s reaction to certain takes. ”I respond well to that. It usually means you’re relying on some intellectual idea.” Generally, Pitt says he tries to approach his work like a full-contact sport. ”I use it all: head, heart, and balls.”

continued EW article (Brad Pitt part)
There was just one scene during the entire shoot where González Iñárritu was satisfied with the first take: Pitt’s climactic moment, in which his character finally erupts into heaving sobs after spending days on the verge of calamity. ”It was 6 a.m. and we had been shooting all night,” González Iñárritu says. ”It was very difficult, and you can see that. It was the sum of the whole experience, and he got it all.”
Despite the chaos, the shoot yielded the type of bare-knuckle adventure in the big wide world that’s hard to come by in pampered Hollywood — the moviemaking equivalent of joining the Peace Corps. ”When you are touched by human experience like that, you cannot be the same [afterward] unless you’re dead or an a–hole,” says González Iñárritu.
Five months after his part in Babel wrapped, Pitt traveled to Pakistan to visit earthquake victims and donated $100,000 toward relief. He then spent time in Africa, where Jolie gave birth to Shiloh in May. In September the couple gave $1 million apiece to organizations that work with the world’s sick and needy. ”This idea that wherever you’re born decides your opportunity and the life you’re going to have… I just feel this need to even out the playing field if I can help in any way,” he says, choosing his words carefully. ”I see it as the main global issue: How do we create the will to understand each other? And maybe things like [Babel] will contribute to that.”
Back at the hotel, Pitt’s stylist has assembled a selection of outfits for him to change into for EW’s photo shoot. Pitt immediately starts rifling through the hangers and slips a beige cashmere sweater over his head. It’s been pre-ripped to the point of looking like it’s been through three wars. Pitt likes it immediately. ”I’m shopping for India,” he says of his imminent trip to the subcontinent, where he’s producing A Mighty Heart, which stars Jolie in an adaptation of Mariane Pearl’s memoir about the terrorist kidnapping and murder of her journalist husband, Daniel Pearl. ”I’m only taking a couple pairs of pants, a few T-shirts, a sweater, and stuffing them into a knapsack. And that’s it. That’s all I need.” He pauses, pleased with the prospect of a pared-down adventure, and quietly mutters, as if to himself, ”Film as expedition…”

I need a 12 step program. while this site was unaccessible I had a slip and went to Perez. There was no B&A board so I stomped on X.
Alas, this is my confession, and this is my shame.
(not that I stomped on X but that I gave her board hits) Does anybody care to be my sponser?

bluemoon&Angie,
To each his/her own i guess. Personally i’m thrilled that they are in my home country. :-)

Not a fan of either woman, but not a hater either and GP has gone on record saying she never spoke to Jennifer Aniston. They are not friends, and I have never read or heard even an unvalidated comment stating that either liked or disliked Angelina let alone a valid one.

Is this site working now?
I don’t understand why EVERYTHING is Angelina’s fault when Brad is there with her. People pretty much ignore him and blame it all on Angie. I don’t get it.
WASSUP PEOPLE? I’m going through JJ withdrawals today.

I think they BOTH get their fair share of unfair blame. Perhaps if Angelina is getting more this trip is because she is the one shooting the film their. Still crazy to me because the main cause of problems seem to be the paps. And as far as the helicopter landing…why would that be Brad or Angie’s fault. The helicopter was from an Indian company. I am sure Brad and Angie assumed the pilot knew what he was doing.
I was just about to start trolling the lesser gossip sites when, PRAISE THE GODS AND GODDESSES JJ came back! YAY!! Now, what’s this about another thread for today?
I actually subscribe to EW - Brad’s been keeping me company today. Don’t you just love that Brad “campaigned” for this role? I bet X was totally confused by someone WANTING to get dirty!
I meant shooting the film there, not their
I CANT WAIT TO SEE BRAD WITH HIS BEAUTIFUL LADY LOVE, MOTHER OF HIS CHILDREN. WALK THE RED CARPET TOGETHER AT THE OSCARS! WHEN HE WINS FOR BEST ACTOR HE WILL THANK ANGELINA THE TRUE ONE AND ONLY LOVE OF HIS LIFE!
Hey JJ thanks for the picture.

Hon, I think you have been reading too many tabloids.
Angelina might be the star of the film but Brad is the producer, and they are there together. Who cares if the helicopter has a pilot it still must be Angie’s fault just like it was her idea for Madonna to adopt an african baby. **rolling my eyes**
Oscar —-> Brad
Lurker #41
1) You dont keep up with the news. Madonna went on Oprah program and said that she did NOt even know Angie.
2) Madonna’s adoption is a good thing. Many media are backing off and supporting her.
3) Go to msnbc, cbs and abc, read the news there. DONT read tabloid
4) You are a troublemaker. I do not sense you are sincere in your post.
I would like to but unfortunately I fell off the wagon myself today.

I think BCBG just misunderstood you. Please don’t start a fight when there is no reason to start one.Just explaine what you said to the person that didn’t get you and everything will be ok.And no I’m not telling you what to do.It’s just a suggestion.
Lurker so you come in here to defend Angelina over Brad, tried to be facecious, and ended up with your foot in your mouth? Is that about the size of it? You better be careful what you say around here, especially if you’ve never been here before!
All this stuff is nonsense: News-hungry media.
Everyone knows that only the pilot and his company are obligated to know the local regulations. Not the passengers. For all they know, the passengers can be people from the jungle-they’re not gonna be held responsible for knowing and enforcing aircraft regulations :)

Of course she can. It’s pretty obvious what your agenda is, you aren’t nearly as clever as you think.
pic #9 clearly shows Brad’s hand is on both Angie’s thigh. Note, his hand stretched across all the way to the other thigh.

That’s so cute. JOLIE GOOD SNACK! LOL

Oh no, not the thigh controversy! lol
Why is it that when some EXCITING stuff about BRAD is happening JUSTJARED goes down or crashes.
Is this COINCIDENCE, CONTRIVED or what? … just wondering …
For people who cannot access JJ (should his server crash), please post your comments about BABEL in the IMDB’s BABEL messsage board.
I am dying to read your comments.
Oscar buzz, the films he produced were making raves and doing good in the boxoffice. and line of projects waiting to get started. Brad has rebound back as one of the top player in Hollywood. a big slap on naysayers and haters.
what a rough day, huh Jared.. :)
Would love to hear some feedback from the JJ fans who saw our boy tonight in in Babel..
Please!
I don’t know if my opinion counts, I’ve been a lurker for quite awhile now. Anyway, I saw Babel today in LA, O MY GOD! This was such an awesome movie, actually there are no words to describe just how good this movie is. I found myself tearing up on a few occassions and I’m not the type to cry at movies. I don’t want to give to much away for those who have to wait til Nov 10th. After the movie people were raving about it, so I was happy. Even when I went to get something to eat people were talking about it , they were going to see it that night.
Brad was phenomanal, just the range of emotion he was displaying, if he doesn’t win the Oscar this year this will be a major dissappointment. And Babel should definately win the Oscar for Best Picture. Even now, I just can’t shake the feeling. People weren’t lying when they said this movie stays with you. All I can say is it’s a definate must see!
So I hope this helps some. I’m glad JJ is back up & running, I was in a panic when I couldn’t access the site this morning. Now, I will go back to my lurkerdom status & have no fears I’m not some crazed maniston person either. I’m so BAMZ that even my friends think that I have lost my mind. What can I say they are my guilty pleasure.
I just came from Nicole thread. I think its funny, couples who were fiercely criticized by the media such as Brad and Angie, TomKat, Brit and K-fed, were the one which relation are gaining strength. while those relations which were getting raves from the tab.media were the one having problem like Nicole & Keith, Jen & Vince. . just my thought.
Hmmm, it seems Babel , a small indie film will end up just like Brokeback Mountain. touching evey soul.
sorry for the typo’s.. Typing very fast, and just got from a cocktail party…lol..

Of course you count.. ! Please post more often, and Thank you so much for your input.. Aahhhh so nice to hear such a glowing review. , I am so happy for Brad.. Can’t wait to see the movie..
Thanks again for the lovely review and Cheers..
Thanks BCBG for the cbs link. The billboard ad is very cute.
Thanks Sugarbear for the review. I can’t wait to see the movie. Counting the days.
It’s getting so frustrating to get on JJ today. I agree with poster above about JJ site crashing everytime something exciting about BAMZS happens. What’s up with that?
I have a theory. Maybe some of the officials did know, as well as the royal family which invited Brad and Angelina to visit, but for security reasons say they did not know. And I imagine that the helicopter will be found to have made a legitimate emergency landing as they only carry so much fuel for a certain length flight. Also most articles on this say “Brangelina” flight in trouble, not just Angie. But most articles re false adoption say Angelina because they want to generate some sort of rivalry with Madonna, where none exists. These idiots still don’t realize that good positive romantic news sells too. Have noticed that triangle of Brad, Angelina, and X stories are disappearing, yea!! And the Brad, Angelina, and GP triangle stories are not interesting, have no traction, because only a pitiful few delusional hard core GP fans can even imagine Brad leaving Angelina to head back to GP (and definitely only a few of these hard core GP fans exist because stories about GP make almost everyone yawn). GP needs the publicity because she’s getting older and not getting the good roles like she once did. It’s hard to remain at the top in Hollywood especially for women, only a few succeed. Brad is a super nova, all want to nestle close as possible to his aura. Brad and Angelina have been the bread and butter stories for the tabs now for two years, and the tabs are desperate for some new bread and butter stories to put on the front cover. I think that some of the intense attention paid to them is decreasing in the states, tabs aren’t selling as well and their pixs are not on every cover every week. India is another story, they are big time world wide Hollywood stars making a movie in a county in which this is rare, so much attention is on them. In a strange way, filming in India has been good for them in that they are working together as actor and producer in somewhat different and difficult circumstances, and seem to be thriving as a couple and as a family. They are also enjoying new experiences together. Stronger bonds between these two may be the positive result of this trip, as well as the production of a good movie. For every negative story about the Jolie-Pitts two or three positive stories are appearing. And the Jolie-Pitts are now accepted and acknowledged as a couple and as a family.

Thank you so much for your review. As I can say from one who cannot see it until November, it was very much appreciated. :)

You are right kk1. The news sources, when the write about B or A now, they don’t insert X in their news as much as they did before. I remember last year, every times AP wrote about any news on B&A, even not related to X, like the Davos forum per example, they had to have an addendum: “BP was divorced from actress JA early this year”. It was very annoying.

60 | Sugarbear | - Hi Sugarbear, I hope you can come out of lurking and post more often, thank you for your review, I can’t wait to see Babel, 2 weeks to go :)
Wow! Thanks for welcoming me. I didn’t think anyone would respond. I am glad I could be of some help. A tip though the movie is long. (Take a sweater just in case. I know the theatre I was in got a bit chilly.) I went in at noon & got out a little after 2:30 with the previews & the dreadful commercials included. Don’t worry, you will be so entranced by this film, you won’t even notice the time until you get out. All I can say is that I went through so many different emotions, it’s such an emotional roller coaster ride. Believe me no one moved during the movie either, although I got the pleasure of having two young girls who came in the movie late and did the chit chat thing. And of course they sat one row in front of me. Finally the movie drew them in and I heard no more. Thank God because no one was going to ruin this for me.
Anyway,I really wish I could say more, it’s killing me. And I don’t mean that in a teasing way either. I tried to tell my friend after the film but she wasn’t interested. I truly think she’s made of stone. Well, thanks again for the warm welcome. Also forgive me for any typos etc. I just get on a roll sometimes.
Thank God you’re back Jared! At least I was able to grab a copy of
EW during lunch to help me tide me over.
Thanks Sugarbear for your review, I can’t wait to see it on Nov.

Great post kk1, ITA. I swear, any, and everybody out there,
knows that you will get your 15 seconds of fame if you link your
name to the phenomenal buzz words of ‘Brad Pitt’ or “Angelina
Jolie.’ Not too long ago, those hags on the View were once
discussing how Brad had lost his appeal because he was now seen
as following Angelina around, not being himself, well, fast forward
to the present and voila! the real Brad has emerged, a strong and
dynamic actor, with the strongest production company in
Hollywood, with two Plan B movies viable for Oscar contention,
father of the most beautiful children, and the lover/husband/other
dedicated half of the Jolie-Pitt power couple!

OK, regarding that cine tele revue article. The only tid bit that I haven’t seen translated is this. Q: Do you plan on having a wedding in the air?

POWER OF “BABEL”
Industry insiders agree Brad Pitt is Hollywood’s golden boy
Posted by the Asbury Park Press on 10/27/06
BY DONNA FREYDKIN
USA TODAY
These days, it’s good to be Brad.
To pay the bills, he stars in and produces films, some artsy (”Running With Scissors,” which he produced, opens nationwide today; “Babel,” in which he stars, is making its New Jersey premiere in West Long Branch on Saturday) and some slick (”Ocean’s Thirteen” just wrapped filming).
To give back, he helps with Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts and speaks out about global warming and poverty.
And at the end of the day, he goes home to Angelina Jolie and children Maddox, 5, Zahara, 1, and Shiloh, 4 months.
The actor, 42, once dismissed as a hunk with chiseled abs, has emerged as one of Hollywood’s most compelling leading men.
“I saw him go from this gawky kid to this unbelievably very solid, confident guy,” says celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz, who shot Pitt years ago and saw him recently during a shoot with Jolie. “I feel like he has an inner life now. Not that the other fellow wasn’t attractive … he was very attractive … but he was a kid. I just think he has grown up.”
Those close to Pitt say he’s riding high, at work and at home.
“I saw Brad two weeks ago,” says pal George Clooney. “He’s in such great spirits. He’s a really smart man who has grown into someone I’m really impressed by all the time. He’s a good friend. And what an amazing dad.”
Though Pitt’s looks still wow the ladies, his appeal now is more than skin deep.
“People love him,” says Entertainment Tonight’s Leonard Maltin. “He’s in a great place and seems to be doing everything right.”

The new Life Magazine has Tea Leoni, Sarah Jessica Parker and Angela Bassett on the cover. They talk about Charity and like always Angelina and Brad’s name came up. The asked them what they thought about selling Shiloh’s picture for charity.
Sarah said - Angelina spends a lot of time thinking about substantial things.
Tea - that’s awesome
Angela - I’ll never pass judgment on that for one minute.

LOL Really Sarah J? How odd. Sorry this struck me funny. I assume this was meant to be a compliment but… could it have been more neutral!!? Yes, Angelina DOES spend a lot of time THINKING about substantial things.. she spends even MORE time..DOING substantial things. SJ really didnt give an opinion, she just made a statement , that while factual, really didnt express whether SJ approved or not.
Love Angela Bassett and Tea Leoni.

Good Morning All
I can’t believe system problems again. I really wanted know what others thought since I will not have a chance until Nov. Well here is someone name Bella M review from Brad_News:
I saw Babel tonight and I still can’t stop thinking about it. I cried for about the third of the movie. Brad was excellent. He may get that oscar nod but do they have rules about screen time? Although he was pivotal, he was not in many scenes. The Japanese girl’s potrayal of some scenes were heartwrenching. I know some oscar contender movies may not be out yet but if Brad does not get nominated, the movie better be. I saw two other movies touted as oscar worhty: The Departed and Flags of Our Fathers. The Departed was a good movie but it was good in way that I thought Lucky Number Slevin was good (I a mobster movie freak); not just oscar worthy. As for FoOF, I love war movies and this was not the best nor even the second best I’ve seen.
Brad Pitt Files Trespassing Charges Against E!

Reps for Brad Pitt have filed trespassing charges against E! Networks after a producer and cameraman allegedly walked onto the actor’s property in the Hollywood Hills last week.
“Yes, we have filed trespassing charges against E! and are exploring our legal options against both the crew that actually trespassed and the network itself,” his rep tells PEOPLE.
A Los Angeles police spokesperson says the incident, first reported by TMZ.com, is still under investigation.
The cable network, meanwhile, is denying any intentional wrongdoing. “E! Networks is investigating allegations that a producer and cameraman who were filming locations for a program about Brad Pitt went onto property last week that is reportedly owned by Mr. Pitt,” according to a statement from the cable channel.
“E! Networks did not instruct or authorize anyone working on its program to improperly intrude onto private property, and the individuals involved have been terminated. While neither Mr. Pitt nor his family were at the property when the incident took place, the network in no way condones or encourages such behavior and would like to offer its most sincere apologies to Mr. Pitt and his family.”

Go Brad! These mother*****s needs to learn how to behave and respect their privacy and their owned property. They pushed the situation over the edge with that one. They stole their digital camera and spread photos on the internet. The razzis were hugging out of Maddox’s school. And some sucker pretended to be a bodyguard to get in their house hold and now this?? Brad is suing their asses and I hope they will pay a lot of money so Brad and Angie can put them on their Jolie-Pitt foundation. And I’m not buying E!’s excuse. They just don’t want to be sued. Well not this time!

There’s heartbreak amid the glitter
BARRY KOLTNOW
The news is getting so depressing. It’s one sad story after another.
And I hear it’s even worse on the news pages.
I don’t have to read about real life to get depressed. Life in Hollywood is depressing enough.
The entertainment section is full of heartbreaking stories about celebrities.
Don’t these people suffer enough, from being required by law to pay taxes on their exorbitant star salaries to suffering the indignity of trying to find someone trustworthy to house-sit the ranch in Montana while they’re spending the winter at the beachfront mansion in Malibu?
I am sick over what these celebrities have to endure.
Here is just a sampling of the sad stories coming out of Hollywood:
I WANT TO BE ALONE…….WITH OPRAH –Publicity-shy Jennifer Aniston went on Oprah Winfrey’s TV show and told her 20 million viewers that her breasts were real and that she and boyfriend Vince Vaughn had not split up.
I suppose the question that immediately comes to mind is: “Who asked her?”
OK, she has been getting pounded in the tabloids recently on both subjects, but was it really necessary for her to go on national television to respond? This is the same woman who normally tells interviewers that her personal life is off-limits.
damn!! power shortage (again) but the net seems to be working…and laptop

‘aimee’ — SJP, is down with the JPs, don’t you worry…she was out and about w/ Drew Barrymore (a good friend of Angie’s - who admires her big time), NYC a few weeks ago….and I’m pretty sure that Maniston sees SJP as her biggest competition, as they are kind of from the same background, though SJP HAS talent and Maniston does NOT…plus, there were all those years that SJP beat out Maniston for the Emmy and Golden Globe as best actress in a comedy - and as I said a lot of the rom-com scripts are going to them both…SJP moreso than Man, as SJP has actually had success on HER OWN opening films like ‘The Family Stone,’ and Failure to Launch — she doesn’t need the latest funny boy mega star to help her out. So I’m pretty sure these two are NOT on the best of terms and that SJP thinks Maniston is more than a bit ridculous. She and her husband live very normal lives in NYC, she works with UNICEF, she doesn’t act stupid around paparazzis…and she’s just a normal down to earth girl…unlike Maniston who pretends to be one, but as with mots of her acting, it comes off as hella fake.
So I would put SJP solidly on Team Jolie.
I like what she said, and unlike aimee #110, I took as what could be a smack for Aniston….that AJ spends time thinking about sunstantial things as opposed to Maniston freeting over Kimberly Stewart, or In Touch’s boob job story.
Yeah the more I think about it - that was a direct back hand to silly @ss Maniston. LOLOL
Go SJP, Tea and Angela.

We bring you exclusive pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, along with kids Zahara and Maddox, as they play in a park in Pune’s Sindh Society.
It was the family’s time out. With children Maddox and Zahara in tow, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt headed to a park in Sindh Society, Pune, for an impromptu picnic, taking a break from the shooting of the film The Mighty Heart.
Since they returned from Jaipur, Brangelina had managed to keep a very low profile in Pune. But on Friday, at around 1.30 in the afternoon, the family was seen having some relaxed time together.
Especially Maddox, who was on a see-saw with dad Brad, was seen enjoying every minute of it. Sister Zahara and mom Angelina, however, were happy watching it all from a distance.
Angelina, who was holding Zahara throughout, could be seen talking and laughing with Brad. They were also seen looking at some passers by, maybe wondering if they would be recognised.
Probably keeping in mind this eventuality, two cars were seen parked close by, so that the family could make a quick escape if fans came looking.
But with Mick around, Angelina’s personal bodyguard who also allegedly roughed up a photographer recently, there was nothing to fear.
He was constantly supervising the security arrangements. Considering the family chose to come out in the afternoon, when there are very few people around, the task was not too difficult to handle as well.
Sporting dark glasses, both the stars were completely at ease. While Brad was wearing a grey shirt and black jeans, Angelina was in a black dress. Looking like any other family out to have fun, they weren’t too bothered even by the afternoon sun.
And as kids will be kids, Maddox just refused to budge from the park. Even as Brad and Angelina cajoled him to return, he kept prolonging the picnic. Maddox has been a regular visitor to the park, accompanied by Mick.
This was the first time Brad Pitt also came to play with them. Angelina had come here once before with Zahara to give company to Maddox.
At about 2.30 pm, the family slowly strolled towards the parked cars and headed towards the Nayansukh bungalow to commence shooting.
Hi Angelah, me too… still pondering but no answer (lol)!

Poor Maddox! The boo wanted to play longer. I hope the next adopted child is a boy and older_maybe 3-4yrs to fill in the gap because Zee isn’t much help in the fun dept for her big bro. I think she’s going to be a girly girl with her bangles and pink shoes lol.
jpf
Yeah! JJ is baaaack!
Great news about the box office!! I can’t wait to see this film!
Man, I’ve been having the shakes not having JJ up and running.

OT. Anyone know why Julia Roberts is in Morocco? There is a pic of her on Ramey, shopping there.
Honestly, this new format is FREAKING me out. I miss the yellow and black of times past.
Hello MF, how are you? How was church today?
OH, never mind.. she is shooting a film there. Sorry.
alana - she’s doing a movie, i don’t remember the name
thanks 4Q. =)
Thanks 4Q. I should do more investigating before I ask questions.
Hiya AG, how are you girl?
Thanks 4Q for the Babel news. It’s also reported on Yahoo movie news. They used the word “towering” to describe the first weekend success. The departed is still #2. I am so thrilled for BP.
Alana - Julia Roberts is shooting a movie in Morocco call Charlie Wilson’s War. I think it has Tom Hanks in it. There was a picture of her on People’s web site.
African Girl- ITA. This new format is freaky but atleast we still get to comment. (thanks Jared). It reminds of the X17’s website.
Yes BABEL did very good at the Box-Office since Saw III which debuted at # 1 this weekend with 3,000 theaters made just over $10.000 per theaters. The biggest per screen average so far is Brokeback Mountain with a whopping $103,000 per theater. That’s really something! But overall, good job Brad, Cate, Gael & other cast you deserve our applause. I can’t wait to see it on Nov. 3rd in Toronto, Canada at Cumberland cinema.
So fellow Torontonian fans be there next weekend for the Babel screening. I am sure will be there.
Told you guys this was fast - it’s almost like IM’ing or chatting real time eh?? I gotta run do some errands, but I’m kind of hoping this format is still up when I get back - lol. I love it! :-D
MF
Yeah it’s fast but different, yesterday it was slow but normal. Oy….it’s never boring in JJland is it?
Hey Alex, how are you?
ntt - and RWS is also in the top 10…. i really happy for Brad….
AG - I am good, just here relaxing, did my laundry already, getting ready to start dinner, and the best news of all, I am going to England for Christmas and my brother and his wife, they are in Germany, is going to go to England for Christmas as well, so I am so excite about that :)
I am so excite about Babel, it is doing great already, can’t wait to see it.
These two are great together. I look forward to seeing it
4Q, that is wonderful news for Brad, Babel is doing great, and The Departed and RWS are also doing great, it is good to be Mr. Brad Pitt :)
Alex
I’m fine thanks for asking. I’m still on nanny duty for my Aunt, which means I can be summoned any moment. :(
Stardust
Yes! That’s what it reminds me of…the x17 site. No wonder I was all freaked out….*whispers* I’m not really a fan of that site….it think it’s because of that girl/guy, who always posted under x17, she/he never had something nice to say about Bamzs (I know, I know…it’s silly, believe me, I am working on my issues)
Hi Alex, I was late in church. I just got home from grocery.
Hi AG, it’s freaking me out too!
I’M SCREAMINGGGGGGGGGGG… I don’t like itttttttttt.
Jared , sorry for MF attitude , she just need to learn to adjust.
It’s cool!! awesome!
Do i have to post in order for me to see the next comment?
MF, I just refresh the page.
Alex
Take me with you, take me with you….pleeeeeeeeeeeeease take me with you! Lucky you, I have no idea what I am doing this christmas. My travel companion (my cousin) is married now….so everything is about her husband, what about me huh…huh? I tell ya, you grow up with someone, share clothes with them, get into mischief with them and just when you think you know them, you found out how wrong you are. Soooo wrong, wrong, wrong. The alternative is to go with younger cousins…..Alex, if there’s one thing you don’t want to do, it’s go on a trip with a bunch of 20yrs old. Nope….I’d rather spend the holidays in my room and be done with it.
I don’t really care what format JJ has, as long as it’s running and is fast! ;)
Forgot to say hi to all BAMZS fans, and thank you Jared for your hard work.
Alex, lucky you, you get to spend Xmas with your family in London. I was there once, love that city.

That is why I dont go there to post.

The Savannah Film Festival was this weekend, and Babel opened it — the following is a glowing review for the film from the Savannah Morning News — I though you guys might like to read…(talk to ya later!) –
Unrelated lives intertwine in stirring, realistic ‘Babel’
A Review | Sunday, October 29, 2006 at 12:30 am
“Babel,” the film that opened the Savannah Film Festival on Saturday evening, is an amalgam of stirring, visceral stories that explore the human condition.
Screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga, writer of “Grams” and “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada,” is known for telling stories out of sequence. He uses the same device here, but not distractingly so. Although the movie bounces from the rocky landscape of Morocco to the arid desert of Mexico and then to the technology-infused atmosphere of Japan and back again, the characters involved are so compelling that you don’t mind being hustled out of one storyline and into the next.
The movie begins with a rifle being sold to a Moroccan goat shepherd, who instructs his two sons to use it against jackals. One day, the boys grow restless and start to complete in marksmanship. Their one-upmanship sparks a series of events that ripple throughout the lives of a Mexican nanny in California, a grieving husband and his wife traveling in Morocco, and a surly deaf/mute schoolgirl in Japan.
Each character in the film is fully flesh-and-blood, which is a feat, considering they get a quarter of screen time, all told. One is a typical Asian teenager, interested in boys, fashion and friends. But she’s also a grieving daughter who is driven to seek attention through any means possible.
The Moroccan brothers live in a squat house with their parents and sister. Their lives and livelihood revolve around goats. But by the end of the film, we see the younger is smarter, braver and more foolhardy than his prudent sibling. In Mexico, a loving housekeeper, who is usually invisible in feature films, has a vibrant life on the other side of the border, filled with color, music, food, family and a passion of her own.
Brad Pitt, haggard and gray, is by turns outraged at the futility of bureaucracy and quietly amazed by the extreme kindness of a virtual stranger.
As his wife, the screen character played by Cate Blanchett is utterly believable as a woman in terrible emotional, then physical pain. They, along with Gael Garcia Bernal, might be the most recognizable names in the credits, but “Babel” by no means is their movie alone.
The haunting soundtrack deserves equal billing. From a pulsating dance club to a middle-class Mexican wedding band to a haunting Moroccan ballad, the score of “Babel” ushered the audience along with each transition.
Midway through the movie, connections between each storyline start to reveal themselves. As the tension picks up, you know that things are going to end badly for someone, but it isn’t clear until the final minutes of the film. In those same minutes, the other characters find healing in various resolutions that seem entirely plausible.
Some people would say “Babel” is a film about miscommunication in a multicultural world. It is that. But what struck me the most is the utterly real way the film depicted the widely diverse cultures of America, Mexico, Morocco and Japan.
The film also stands out because of the way it infuses each character with life - these people want things, are afraid of things. They love their families. They are suspicious of unfamiliar things. Their authenticity keeps our attention, all the way to final credits.

Oh thank you Alana! I thought I have to go back & forth.
Thanks Cliniqua for that review!
AG, no Lake Como vacay with GC in the planning? You need to make your hints more obvious to him, or just get you butt over there, and go after him, like someone we know does in London now, after someone else we know. ;)
This article from The Times of India, is pissing me off and I e-mail the editor, what the hell is wrong with these people, always saying bad things about Angelina. I hope you guys will read this article and send an e-mail to the editor. The article is called:

Ah ha! Review from someone who actually knows something about movies….. not some idiot with a pen who happens to work for a 3rd rate network. Thanks.
BBL….ladies. Again I beg you all not to have any fun without me.
AG and Kearnie - you’re not the only ones who isn’t fond of that website. I can’t believe how they boast when they get a video of one of their peeps chasing some celebs, especially the rickshaw incident.
Thank you to all those who have posted the positive reviews and the earnings that Babel is getting. I can’t wait to see. I saw the Departed recently and liked it except I’m not a fan of violent movies. Other than that, Matt, Leo, Mark, and Jack were awesome! =)
I’m bringing this over here from the YG for those of you who aren’t members or haven’t checked it today. A journalist in India needs to be pimp-slapped…
***********
Here’s an editorial from some yahoo (pun intended) journalist in
India who says he’s sick of “Brangelina” and they’re wreaking havoc
in Pune and aren’t nice to the media. Boo hoo, too bad, so sad. At
the end of the article is a link to write to the editor…so I
did….and so should YOU!
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/msid-207232,curpg-
2.cms
Thanks for the laughs. You people in Pune should be
thanking “Brangelina” for putting Pune in the news. Outside of India
you probably couldn’t find 2 people in the same room who knew where
it was. Thanks to the ruckus kicked up by INDIAN MEDIA AND MOVIE
FANS their WORK-RELATED stay has become a circus.
Is it really so unusual to shutdown an area while a movie is being
shot at that location? No, it’s not. Is it unusual to keep people
not involved in the shoot away from the set? No, it’s not. Surely
Bollywood operates in exactly the same way? The filming of “A Mighty
Heart” in Pune is pumping millions of dollars into your local
economy. So quit crying foul as if you the citizens of Pune aren’t
getting anything out of the presence of “Brangelina” in your fair
city.
Yes, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are international celebrities, but
your contention that they OWE the media a press conference is
ridiculous and high-handed. They are there on business. What more is
there for them to say? If they had come into Pune with the pomp and
circumstance of a formal press conference they would’ve been accused
of being on an egomaniacal power trip and inflating their
importance. It was the media that turned their visit into a circus,
so don’t now blame Pitt and Jolie for not wanting to be the clowns
under your big top.
Pitt and Jolie may owe something to their fans, but they don’t owe
anything to the media. That is the the problem with the media. You
people think YOU’RE more important than the news itself. Also, from
all the reports I’ve seen the locals who’ve had a chance to interact
with them say they are down to earth and at ease in Pune and were
very friendly. That’s all they OWE to anyone - common human decency
and it should be returned to them in kind.

AG, oh nanny duty huh, good for you :), it has been forever since I did any babysitting or nanny duty, thank god that my sister lives all the way up in LA :)
You are welcome to come with me to England for Christmas :), I have 5 uncles over there, with wives and kids and grandkids etc, family is huge, so I know it is going to be a fantastic Christmas and I can’t wait. And I hear you about going on trips with younger cousins, there is no way I will do that, to much craziness

Hey PT, I posted another article from India here and I think that editor need to be pimp-slapped as well, I already sent my e-mail to that idiot
nnt
Hey, I’m playing coy. So what if there are rumors that we’re broken up, so what if he’s been seen with another woman, this that does not mean I’ll should get on the first flight out just to prove we’re still together. Nah….that would be a very childish and insecure thing to do and you can call me anything but insecure and needy and desperate….I might a whine a little but I will not….I repeat….not live for tabloid rumors. Jeez, what do you take me for…..a 37yrs old woman child? Hmphhhhh!
BBL….for real this time. I have to go show the world how independent I am. ;)
PT, the link didn’t work, but I think it’s the same one that’s floating around. It’s funny that not one, but two recent and positive Jolie-Pitt reports only seemed to end up here on JJ, Pittwatch and the like. If it ain’t ugly, it’s not wanted by the _itchBlogs.
jpf
PT, when I click on that link it says page not found.
Hi MF, well it is better to be late than not show up, well that is what I think anyway :)
Hi ntt, I love England, when I go I always have a bunch of fun, my cousins are crazy , but in a good way :), I am so looking forward to spending Christmas there
PT- the reason I asked QQQ if the picnic article was from Times of India is because the same guy who is bashing Brad and Angelina in the article you posted, is the same guy who wrote the glowing article about them having a picnic. This guy can’t make up his mind. He’s got no credential as a journalist. One minute, he’s writing about how they need to learn some manners, and the next he’s writing about how private and low profile they are during a family picnic in SINDH Society, where they are filming the movie.
Now how can the same journalist for the same newspaper (and I use that word lightly since Times of India sucks at reporting actual news) write that these two are causing a ruckus in Sindh Society one minute and the next time they are peacefully having a family picnic by going low - profile. This writer, Gaurav Thakur, should not be given any importance.
Hey Alex, that is so wonderful… you will have an amazing time in England and Xmas is not too far away. Where do your relatives live?
Oops. 4Q not QQQ. :P
Hye 4C, most of them live in West Yorkshire, close to Manchester, the others lives in London, and I have a uncle that lives in Scotland. Nope Christmas is right around the corner, there is one down side to me going to England for Christmas, no BAMZS, and you guys, but I am working on a plan, which is to get a laptop :)
What a pantload that article was. He says that Bollywood stars are head and shoulders above BA- if that was true, then why the desire to cover a pair of stars who are mere flyspecks to his culture? And his theory that a Bollywood film crew wouldn’t get away with disrupting a community in Connecticut- didn’t realize that Connecticut was supersaturated with a population, much less a populated with people fascinated with Bollywood.
This is a long article. It was posted on Bradforums. I hope no one minds me bringing this over here. Oh and it’s written by a journalist for..you guessed it.. Times of India!

Passage India rough for foreign filmmakers
Bharti Dubey
[ 23 Oct, 2006 0057hrs ISTTIMES NEWS NETWORK ]
MUMBAI: Two road accidents, numerous fisticuffs and schedules gone awry. These jottings in the Brangelina tour diary of Pune’s heat and dust say it all. Will the reel-life Mr and Mrs Smith ever return to India to shoot a film?
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt may have realised by now why veteran Hollywood director Oliver Stone didn’t shoot his controversial movie ‘Alexander’ in India, despite his much-publicised reconnaissance trip.
They may even sympathise with the British crew who were not on talking terms with their Indian counterparts towards the completion of the Oscar-winner ‘Gandhi’ almost three decades back.
The truth is that Bollywood’s countryside is different from Planet Hollywood. Here, postponements are nothing out of the ordinary and laptops are alien to film sets. In contrast, Hollywood teams stick to schedules and juggle their production needs with computers. Stone flew out the moment he hit Indian red tape.
Worst, say actors who have been part of western filmmaking, there is a tendency to make a quick buck from unsuspecting foreign crews.
When Hollywood actor Matt Damon and the ‘Bourne Identity’ crew came down for a shoot in Goa, they overshot the estimated budget by almost a double. Bollywood lore has it that room rates were overstated and so were local manpower costs.
Hollywood teams depend on desi line producers, who keep accounts on paper unlike their Hollwood counterparts. Richard Attenborough’s ‘Gandhi’, too, had gone over budget.
Recalls a unit member of the film, “The total budget allotted that time was Rs 6.5 crore, but the amount was exhausted in making half the film.” Thankfully, the government of the day backed the project and the film was completed.
In hindsight, the unit member feels the British crew didn’t understand the Indian crew’s way of functioning, leading to costs spiralling. “But there is no denying the tension between the British and Indians. More often than not, they didn’t communicate with each other, which again affected the film,” he insists.
Twenty-four years later, the storyline is the same. The Indian line producers are still not able to handle the budgets allotted to them. Not surprisingly then, the Hollywood production ‘Marigold’, which boasts of an Indian star, has gone over budget.
India’s greatest defeat in this regard has been its failure to come up with efficient service providers a concept that has made countries like Thailand and South Korea a favourite with Hollywood. Service providers are literally people who hold the foreign crew’s hand through local paperwork and jargon.
In the absence of such professionals, Hollywood crew depend on word-of-mouth recommendations. The reccomendations are not always apt. Says Udayshankar Pani, who has worked for ‘Gandhi’ and has been a line producer for many German films shot in India, “There are not enough service providers and Indian film schools don’t treat production as a serious subject.”
Gulshan Grover, who has worked in many Hollywood films, feels both sides are to be blamed for the communication gap. He says, “We have some of the most talented guys who are good at multi-tasking despite the poor infrastructure, but a few among us have the habit of getting more out of the dollar-spending guys.
The foreign crew, too, have to shoulder a bit of the blame. They treat us very badly and behave as if they are doing us a favour.” German filmmakers like Michael Enke confess that though their companies are ready to invest in India, many are put off by their previous experiences.
Enke was helped by Pani for his film, but says that many other filmmakers are at the mercy of tour operators who double up as service providers. Hollywood’s favourite locales Goa, Kerala, Ladakh and Rajasthan in fact, have many such tourist operators doubling as service providers and making a hash of the job.
Says Dilip Borkar, who has been a service provider for Indian and foreign film units for 15 years, “Most often these so-called service providers fleece the foreign producers who are ignorant about India. The stories float around and international film producers prefer not to return because of the negative stories.”
But Arjun Bagga of Nora Films, who was the production manager for Omar Sharif’s ‘One Night With The King’, refuses to take a dim view of things. He feels we need to start by clearly revealing the ground realities of our country.
“For instance, it takes four days to get equipment cleared from the customs. If the foreign crew is informed about this and organises itself accordingly, lot of heartburn will be avoided,” Bagga adds.

Jared, totally missing the site. I think this will be an impactful movie. It is great to see Brad stretch his range and Cate is always nice
E! True Story of Angie is on. Winona Ryder had really great things to say about her. She said Angie is an emotional actress, just phenomenal. Angie intimidates her and challenged her.
BAMZS fans,
I’ve created a BAMZS group on youtube because the jolie group was getting weird w/ all the butt videos and girls doing strip teases. Some of you on youtube have already received an invite like Char, Guli, Cliniqua and Angelah. In order to join the group you have to be approved by me. I’m only doing this because I don’t want any of the butt video/strip teases people to join.

Much love everyone!

Thank you for this article. It’s probably the best I’ve ever read. Very even. Someone is missing a serious money-making opportunity by not creating a serious service provider company there that rises above the bull and can negotiate and server as a liason. Wish I was there lol.
tha india times editor sound idiotic and with such a myopic view. i am surprised that they would write something as such.
in any case, i recall reading about another article written by some indian journalist about how India/Prune has a lesson to learn from Namibia. I can’t seems to find that article now .. does anyone has that article or link to post here ?
I think we should forward that article to all India media instead and get them to open up their mind and look beyond .. be alittle more visionary rather than so narrow minded as shown that silly article.
Hi Everyone,
I read your posts everyday but this is my first post. (Virgin)
My husband and I saw Babel last night at the Grove in LA and it was wonderful, powerful and heart breaking. We discussed the movie all the way home. It’s a must see. The movie pulls you in from the beginning. Many of us cried, it was very emotional.
We were asked to fill out a questionnaire @ the end of the movie and about 1/3 of us did.
And for all the haters, you can’t keep a good man down. Brad is loved by many.
Thank God, Jared is back, or almost back. I really want to see Babel so much, but i don’t know when they show it in my country. Not in the near future, I’m sure, very frustrating. I’m really curious what will be the opinion of the Bamzsters here.
As for the Indian press, they are morons. They’ve missed a good opportunity, American or foreign film crews will avoid them again. It’s their loss, who cares. I hope B and A and the kids get home asap without a problem. I would like to see them at home in the US.
It really irritates me when Brad and Angelina are criticized unfairly.. which seems often. But, to be criticized about something(adopting an Indian child) that is only a tabloid speculation is really annoying. I will believe it only when either Brad or Angelina confirm it.
Benjamin Button starts filming November 6 according to movie extras posting on IMDB. So hopefully the family will be leaving India real soon.

Thanks so much! Even if Brad won’t be there until later, it still means they may be leaving India soon. Seems like they’ve been down there forever, and you better believe people won’t be acting like they have in NOLA.
I hope they are done soon too. Didn’t they say that the director, Winterbottom, is known for doing quick shoots?
Hiya Original jpf, I can’t wait for them to leave India as well, to much craziness over there, and you are right when Brad start filming in New Orleans it is going to be completely different. I think they should be leaving India soon, I know that BB starting filming 11/6 but PT said that Brad don’t have to be in New Orleans until December, I am thinking that when they finishing up shooting AMH, they might take a family vacation to just relax before Brad starting shooting BB
Original jpf: October 29th, 2006 at 5:40 pm :
thanks . Do you have the other one which was favorable . It states how Inida/Prune had a lesson to learn from Namibia - along the line that instead of trying to write about negativity ..they should try to project positive news and bring awareness using this media outlet to promote India/Prune, Tourism and Brollywood — just like how Namibia had benefited from BA being in their country .
The postiive article also written around the 1st week of their presence in India .. I believed it was around the wooha about Mikey vs papz(choking) incident.
I really think that article should be forwarded to the Inidan media to open and widen their minds of a “missed” opportunity to bring “good” into their country.
SIMPLY BRAD SITE- says filming of Benjamin Button does start in November but Brad will join them in December so he does get a little break after returning from India.

Honestly, this new format is FREAKING me out. I miss the yellow and black of times past.
++++++++++++++
I actually like this format better because it doesn’t take forever to download! I’ve got broadband but the regular format is just too loaded down with Javascripts and ads and stuff and it’s a bit## to load!
Martin Scorsese’s mob tale “The Departed” held strongly again, taking in $9.8 million to place second for the third-straight weekend. The Warner Bros. film lifted its total to $91.1 million.
Revenues for “The Departed” were down just 27 percent from the previous weekend, compared to 35 percent for “The Prestige” and 38 percent for Clint Eastwood’s World War II epic “Flags of Our Fathers,” which was No. 4 with $6.35 million.
Paramount’s “Flags of Our Fathers,” which cost $90 million to produce, has gotten off to a slow start, raising its 10-day total to $19.9 million. The acclaimed film still could follow the pattern of Eastwood’s last two movies, “Mystic River” and “Million Dollar Baby,” which became hits on the strength of Academy Awards buzz.
Focus Features’ South African drama “Catch a Fire” premiered weakly with $2 million in 1,306 theaters, averaging $1,541, compared to $10,830 in 3,167 cinemas for “Saw III.”
“Catch a Fire” stars Derek Luke and Tim Robbins in the story of a black family man driven to rebel against South Africa’s apartheid system in the 1980s.
The far-flung drama “Babel,” whose ensemble cast includes Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, had a huge opening in limited release, grossing $365,801 in seven theaters. The film traces the consequences of a tragedy in the desert on families in Africa, Mexico and Japan.
Distributor Paramount Vantage plans to open “Babel” nationwide on Nov. 10.
The Dixie Chicks documentary “Shut Up & Sing” debuted solidly in limited release, taking in $50,798 in four theaters. Released by the Weinstein Co., the film explores the furor after lead singer, Natalie Maines, told a London concert crowd on the eve of the Iraq war in 2003 that the music trio was ashamed President Bush was from Texas, their home state.
1. “Saw III,” $34.3 million.
2. “The Departed,” $9.8 million.
3. “The Prestige,” $9.6 million.
4. “Flags of Our Fathers,” $6.35 million.
5. “Open Season,” $6.1 million.

I don’t know how they do it. He’s going to be filming that, I thought JESSE JAMES was going to be ready to rollout, as is THE GOOD SHEPHERD and all the promo stuff for those. These are some busy folks.

I’m a lurker here but I was appalled by that article so I sent an email. This is what I sent.
Maybe you should check your facts before you criticize Ms.Jolie. Last I checked there wasn’t any legitimate news agency or Ms. Jolie herself saying that she plans to adopt an Indian child. Only Tabliods have been saying this. What’s more disturbing is to compare her adoptions as some sort of suvenior she picks up when she goes to other countries. It’s a complete insult to her and other adoptive families. I don’t know what you have against Ms. Jolie, but your article is just disgusting. Ms. Jolie has spent her time and money helping the less fortunate, and in doing that she has adopted 2 children and made their life better. And what have you done? Instead of sitting at your computer crticizing someone who’s actual done something.
Original jpf- a couple months ago I heard on entertainment tonight that Jesse James got switched to come out in 2007 cause he filmed Ocean 13 in September and Jesse James was suppost to come out around that time and it didn`t make sense for him to juggle promoting Jesse James and filming Ocean 13.
Original jpf : October 29th, 2006 at 6:27 pm
Me either jpf, they are so busy, but they will find ways to do what they have to do. BB is going to take a while to film I believe, I think I read somewhere about maybe 4-5 months()? to film, isn’t that way to long to file a movie and then we have O13 and then AOJJ, when exactly does AOJJ comes out? It is 2007 or 2008? and then we have TGS coming out in December, and I don’t know how much promoting Angie is going to do for it; my goodness, they really are going to be busy, that is why I think that they will take a mini-vacation after filming AMH

Hey PT, I posted another article from India here and I think that editor need to be pimp-slapped as well, I already sent my e-mail to that idiot
+++++++++
Hey Alex - I just saw it…I fired them a little e-mail pointing out something this twit obviously fails to understand…Brad Pitt ain’t no Woody Allen! His wife is the hottest woman on the planet. He’s not going to be dumping her in 15 years for one of his adopted daughters! Morons. It was a stupid comparison when the only commonality is a multi-racial brood of kids! He made it sound like Mia Farrow’s busy life is what led WA to practically commit incest! Freaking idiot. However…I was only too happy to point out the error in their twisted logic.

PT- the reason I asked QQQ if the picnic article was from Times of India is because the same guy who is bashing Brad and Angelina in the article you posted, is the same guy who wrote the glowing article about them having a picnic. This guy can’t make up his mind. He’s got no credential as a journalist.

Thank you angelah! I’m sooooooooo happy for my Brad! All of his movies (both producing and staring in) are doing great!! I love it! I can’t wait to see all of them!!
Stardust has said before that Times of India have turn into a trashy tabloid and they are really showing their true colours lately. Through articles around without even checking the facts. Accusing others for their own stupidity and disability to handle some certain things properly. They are really causing a very bad impression about their country .And they can not even realize it. It’s really sad. BAMZS have at least one more week there (if not earlier). I wish this last week to pass in a blink of an eye and for them to return back in the states safe and sound.
Passing Through: October 29th, 2006 at 6:45 pm
Great job PT, I know you will set them straight, I am so proud of you :). I am so getting tired of India right now and especially their so-called news people, no offense to anybody from India, but I can’t wait for the BAMZS family to come home.

Hey Alex - I was talking to one of my brothers the other day and he and his family are going to London for X-mas! Maybe you’ll run into him?! LOL! Just look for the 6′5″ 250 lb black man who’s b#tching about the pound-to-dollar exchange rate! He didn’t want to go because it’s almost 2 to 1, but his wife and daughter out-voted him. Now you know why Brad wants another boy…the women will out-vote him and Mad every time!

Benjamin Button starts filming November 6 according to movie extras posting on IMDB. So hopefully the family will be leaving India real soon.

Passing Through Says:

lol, I will definitely look out for your brother, but I seriously doubt I will see him, hey but you never know :); and your brother is definitely going to be bitching about the pound to the dollar, the first time I went to England I bitched about that my whole trip and even today I am still bitching about it , but I guess the good thing for me is that I will be staying with family, so I don’t have to worry about paying for hotel etc. I agree, the Joli-Pitts do need another boy to even out, otherwise poor Brad and Madd will be out voted all the time
trendy Says:
October 29th, 2006 at 5:59 pm
SIMPLY BRAD SITE- says filming of Benjamin Button does start in November but Brad will join them in December so he does get a little break after returning from India.
++++++++++++++
Actually, I think SimplyBrad.com is wrong. Brad himself told People mag that he’d be back to NO in JANUARY 2007. That was in the article after their last trip to NO.
Thanks jjoy! The Jolie group was getting weird and gross! I hope everyone is doing well and those who are already members of the BAMZS group please post your videos! It’s strange to only see mine on there.

I’d go anywhere with the Mick. I’m telling you, I just look at him and feel safer. I read somewhere that he used to be Sandra Bullock’s security, and that Nicole Kidman is the one who suggested him to Angelina. I saw a photo of him from back when she was with BBT, and he has not changed one bit.
It would be nice for them to slip off to some tropical Island where they can just wear sarongs, sip cute drinks, walk along the beach, eat great food, make amazing love……sigh

If that doesn’t signal to the doubting how commited these two are to being a family I can’t imagine much else will. What a beautiful and emotional time that will be for both Angelina & Brad, but especially Angelina. The irony of her adopting Maddox with BBT who turned around and willingly gave up all claim to the child, and then you have this other man who’s told the world he couldn’t live without his adopted son and daughter. No wonder Angie looks at Brad like he hung the sun moon & stars.

The Power of Babel
Unraveling the fragile threads that connect us
By RICHARD SCHICKEL
SUBSCRIBE TO TIMEPRINTE-MAILMORE BY AUTHOR
Posted Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006
In Morocco a little peasant boy aims a rifle, newly acquired by his father, at a tourist bus and grievously wounds a woman dozing by one of its windows. In Tokyo an adolescent girl, puzzled and angry over her mother’s suicide (and a deaf-mute as well), bedevils her father and at the same time blatantly asserts her confused but flaming sexual needs. In San Diego a Mexican woman tends two Anglo children she deeply loves while their parents are on holiday, but when her own son needs her, she puts her charges in jeopardy. Unable to find someone to replace her, she takes them along to her son’s wedding with near calamitous results.
Babel is Babel indeed. Director Alejandro González Iñárritu and screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga are essentially up to the same trick they used brilliantly in Amores Perros, less so in 21 Grams–interweaving multiple stories about disparate individuals and eventually revealing their hidden connections. Since the characters are, in the present instance, operating on a global scale, some viewers will find Babel excitingly far-ranging. Others may find it merely far-fetched. Some will see the casting of Cate Blanchett as the wounded tourist and Brad Pitt as her husband as evidence that it aspires to be a major motion picture. Others will note the anonymity of the other players and see it as a lengthy, overambitious art-house entry. Those of us who think González Iñárritu is one of the movies’ larger youngish talents will perhaps be inclined to cut him a good deal of slack.
It is not important how, or even if, his three intercut stories become linked. Each of them is, in itself, a powerful tale of fairly ordinary people taken gently down innocent-seeming roads only to find themselves, at the end, in desperate and life-threatening circumstances.
The kid with the gun is playful and innocent; he is not trying to cause an international incident. The sex-crazed Japanese girl is a recognizably troubled adolescent, quite unaware of the largely hormonal firestorm raging within her. The Mexican au pair is a kindly and responsible woman, caught in conflict between the needs of her beloved charges and the call of a central event in her family’s life. Her crisis is the more powerful for the way it takes her, unaware of the gathering threat, to the brink of madness and death. It is a measure of González Iñárritu’s humanity that his protagonists are not all victims of their bad decisions. It is a measure of his potent skills as a director that he hammers home his melodrama with relentless ferocity.
The actors–including his two big stars–are all wonderfully real, seemingly as surprised by the depths and dangers of their circumstances and emotions as we are. Babel is a movie that leaves you feeling limp and wrung out, but mysteriously moved by its vivid human encounters with the hot, tightly wired, chancy and coincidental world, ever capable of terrorizing us when we least expect it.
Hey Briese, are you log in?
India has free press, subject only to the laws of libel, slander and national security - same as in the US.
No offence to any Indians readers here but overall, I would not give Indian-English papers much more then a pass grade. Of course, I was there more then 6 years ago so things may have chanaged. However, when I was visiting regularly, I noticed that for a nation of more then 400 million fluent english readers, it does not have truly great newspapers like The Times, The Guardian in the UK or Washington Post or International Herald Tribune. I notice that analysis of the news was not particularly good.
Even the good papers seem to have a bit of a USA Today feel about them - BUT POORER QUALITY. Also, one of the things I found when reading the Indian English press was the varying qualities within the paper. What I mean is, you can OK (but slightly sensationalistic) reporting on the politics or the economy but really trashy reporting on other things. However, reporting on cricket is always good quality.

MF….ate char….how are you??? how’s little Bradley?? he must be very big right now ha??? thanks for the pic of the rose :)
lylian - ITA. It’s been quiet a while since I went to India also but I do constantly check up on the news from online Indian newspapers and have some international Indian TV channels in my home which helps me keep in touch with how India is progressing and how the news is reported. One 24 hr. Indian news channel that I watch puts news about Cricket and Bollywood above everything else. Of course, politics is another favorite. But you are correct about the lack of analitical journalism by newspapers and News channels. Every type of news is spinned to make it into infotainment. There are hardly any news sources that report on important issues with indepth coverage. Everything has a glossy effect to it and journalists barely scratch beyond the surface. Unfortunately, I don’t think Indian news has “progressed” so much as far as true journalism is concerned. There have been a lot technological advances in how the news is reported but the content itself is on a downhill slop. Don’t worry, I don’t take any offense to what you are saying at all. I love India and all that it has to offer but I can’t overlook the negative aspects of it.

Hey PT, check your e-mails, there are some hot pics of Brad and Angie; and also some beautiful pics of them in the park with Madd and Z
I missed not only GREY GARDEN (so glad I remembered to set DVD to record as I’ve been waiting forEVER for a commercial free viewing, and now I’ll finally have one) but HAIRSPRAY (next time) because I was so busy on a site some of you may already be familiar with but I wasn’t called http://www.bradpittfan.com/index.html
I swear it has pic’s I have NEVER ever seen. Brad got around. It has pic’s of him with girls he dated I have NEVER heard of. It’s just amazing. The one thing I came away with is IMO, Angelina is the man’s Mt. Everest. She IS the one where his modus operandi got shut down and kicked to the curb. There is something I found so rote about all the past loves and that’s not to say he didn’t indeed love them. No, on the contrary, he loved at least 3…Juliette Lewis, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jennifer Aniston, and in the case of GP, I think he very much loved her, but again, after looking at all the photos up until AJ, there is a distinct pattern that clearly has vanished since he has been with her.
If Angelina hadn’t come along I would have probably never noticed the pattern, or gotten the sense that true intimacy may have been lacking in his (and AJ’s) relationships until now. We tend to identify intimacy with physical touching only, and trust me, there are very few pic’s showing the women in his life at that time when he isn’t holding their hand, or has his arms around them boyfriend style. What I’ve concluded is that he and Angelina’s relationship isn’t for public consumption like all of their respective past ones were.
I believe this is the last relationship either will ever be in simply because of the fire each has had to endure to be together. I think they’ve filled up the empty spaces in each other and found contentment. He and Angelina arent sharing with the world what should be only for them. After all those women, and all this time, Angelina is the only one to not only have his child, but share Madd & Zee with him. Angelina is the last stop on the way for him.
Ok, I have cartoon eyes and shortly I’ll need toothpicks to hold them open
nite nite….
OMG, the bacony pics are so lovely. I like the one with AJ’s back the most. They look like they just got out of bed, so content with each other.

Hiya jpf, great post and I totally agree, they are soulmates and meant to be, this is it for them, each other. Night jpf

Thanks, I spent the weekend arranging my brangelina files and I registered to bradforum, souliejolie and some others. I had to use different names because mine was taken sometimes, it makes it hard to log in. I got a lot done but I was still annoyed at JJ’S problems

What for? To enrich the harrassing paps? Nope. They were just in each other’s arms few minutes prior to the pics. I was there, I know.

hey everyone, some people are going crazy that Jolie maybe pregnant again!
http://s2.supload.com/image.php?get=00264_pp4_122_504lo.jpg
I don’t know, I think it’s just camera angle…???
++++++++++++++++
Be Sane - ANGIE’S NOT PREGNANT. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT IN THE OTHER PHOTOS TAKEN AT THE SAME TIME. If you’ve got an account at Angelinaweb.org go there and look at the high resolution photos, which are about 5 times bigger than the link you posted…There’s no bump. That other photo is just a funky angle.
NEW THREAD
im so loving brad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im so excited to see the film!
Where is the new thread?
j@red deleted it… deng it and I was the 2nd one too lol.
wow! they are really hot! they are barely touching and yet they manage to exude that hotness!!! I agree with Original JPF theirs is not something for public consumption. The fact they endured and still do every slander and hate there is and unimaginable included, (if words could kill they would have been decapitated already) they remain solid. It’s a rarity to find your great love and theirs is one.

I totally agree. I believed this couple will survived longer than any other celebrity.
Brad and Angie are so hot in that balcony pic. Brad’s arm is so delicious, but I think Angie is getting a bit too thin. she should go to her normal weight just like in 2004.
what happened to the new thread (balcony pictures and playground pictures)?
What makes her look thin..her arms? Well I went and looked at old pics and she had always had these thin arms. Check out this page
http://p099.ezboard.com/fjjboardfrm41.showMessage?topicID=18564.topic
scroll down to her in the MAMS pics in leather. See her arms were thin then. or this
http://p099.ezboard.com/fjjboardfrm41.showMessageRange?topicID=18564.topic&start=121&stop=140
I think she main have lost muscle but her arms are always thin.

Thank you so much guys for the lovely pictures!!! In the balcony ones I love the first one. They seem like they just walk up from the bed. Especially Brad with that hair. LOL! Who knows what they were doing… ;)
The playground pics are adorable!! I’m happy that inside all this madness in India they are finding some time to enjoy them selves and spend time with the kids. But I really want them out of there. They look so content with each other. From the first time this couple gave my the impression that they knew each other for years. The only think the have to do is look at each other and that’s enough to know what they want. They have been inseparable for tow years of their togetherness. They are a team!
She could be preggy, i remember she was so thin while filming TGS in NYC. I think she probably throws up a lot during her first trimester, thats why she becomes so thin.
yeheyyy shes pregnant!(rowe clapping,rolling,dancing chacha)

She looks sooo gorgeous in that dress, and check out the fips, a woman after my own heart. BBFN
I meant flips. More coffee please!
Thanks deena for the link. Little black dress looks good on her. Dark hues looks good on her. Both are hot. Now I am bothered!
Thanks Goodness JJs partially working. At least we can now post. have not seen Babel yet but looking forward to it. Deena & other posters thanks for those links. Love this family.
Perez has the playground pics up! :-D
http://www.imnotobsessed.com/
has pictures of Brad Pitt helping in the Jimmy Carter project
re: picnic px, I was gonna say this should make the haters that say Angelina never carries Zahara STFU, but the haters are never satisfied, they’re over on perez b^tching that they never bring Shiloh out to hold out for more money shots to sell. AAAAARRRGH!
I knew the reason she didn’t hold Z was because they were always rushing and in danger, that’s when you need Daddy Braddy. But relaxing in a playground, Momma gets Z so Brad can play with Maddox. (I wonder how Daddy’s girl feels about that?)
Is this a new look for JJ. Moring Bamzs fans.
deena, thank you for the link! Good morning everyone! Angie looks great in that dress.
Deena, thank you for the link… beautiful pics.
