This Video was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival in May 2006, so this must be from 2004. Mary Hart on Entertainment Tonight said it was from last September, but it must be September 2004 because Brad didn’t have a buzz cut in September 05….Anyway here’s the review…

Pitt really acts in the piece, or, rather, he subjects himself to it, standing in the pouring rain of a deep blue soundstage in nothing but chiseled pecs and clinging white boxers. A droning, deep I-am-a-gallery-voiceover voice intones snippets from children’s games and fairy tales, while Pitt slowly raises his arm, with excruciatingly slow precision, and points a gun at the camera, at which point he pulls the trigger and fires a tiny spout of water. It’s preposterous in the extreme, but it’s lovely to see Pitt playing so gamely along.

Watch it for yourself, listen to the voice over, listen as the Scary Hidden Man reads his Sexual Predator Poem, listen carefully to the words:

And on and on it goes, the Scary Hidden Man’s voice reading monotonously, Brad just standing there in the rain, the longer it goes, the more you imagine a serial stalker sitting in a small room, watching watching watching, waiting waiting waiting, his mouth watering, his eyes bulging, his breath accelerated, his excitement growing, his appetite violent, and worst of all… his prey oblivious.

Now I know I have an active imagination but you watch this and you try, just try to tell me it’s more than a *little* ******’ weird. Especially the squirt at the end timed perfectly for a particular verse in the poem.

If art is about symbolism, then yeah…I get it: symbolically fucked AND symbolically disturbing and just because Brad Pitt has his shirt off doesn’t make it any better.

On Monday Brad Pitt visited the Western India town of Lonavala, where he helped former President Jimmy Carter, his wife Rosalynn and other Habitat for Humanity volunteers build two new houses.

The actor, who has been in Pune, India, with Angelina Jolie filming A Mighty Heart, arrived around noon – when the press corps was at lunch – and for a few moments went unnoticed among the 1,500 foreign volunteers.

But then a Times of India photographer happened to recognize Pitt and the whole press pack came running.

During his visit, which lasted until sundown, Pitt chatted with the Carters and then helped lay cement blocks. “He was perfectly relaxed and didn’t mind being photographed at all,” local reporter Pranjal Bhujan told PEOPLE. “He did everything – he mixed the cement, carried it to the house, laid it on the bricks and then placed the bricks on the wall that was being built.”

Pitt also spoke with Aziz and Sadhiya Sheikh, who will own one of the houses he worked on – although Sadhiya Sheikh later told reporters she had never heard of the actor.

But her husband, a taxi driver, had, because of all the recent coverage of Pitt and Jolie’s activities in Pune. “I know he is the famous American actor,” Aziz said. “I was excited and honored that he and Mr. Carter were helping to build my house.”

Pitt and Carter also helped out on a house for rickshaw driver Dev Aggarwal and his wife, who is seven months pregnant. “I didn’t know who Pitt was, but to have a famous man visiting your house is an auspicious sign with a baby on the way. It means good things are going to come,” Aggarwal told reporters.

After Pitt had gone, the Indian volunteers working on the site came rushing to the two couples to congratulate them on having been ‘blessed’ by a visit from Pitt and Carter.

“Brad just believes in doing his part to draw attention to the fact that so many people around the world lack adequate and affordable housing,” the actor’s philanthropic advisor, Trevor Neilson, told PEOPLE. “He has great respect for the work that President Carter has done leading Habitat for Humanity and is glad to be able to help draw attention to their important work in India and around the world.”

In total, 100 houses are being built in association with Habitat for Humanity for low-income families in the Lonavala area as part of the 23rd annual Jimmy Carter Work Project.

Also helping the Carters – who every year since 1984 have spent a week building homes for Habitat – were former Miss World and Miss India Diana Hayden and Australian cricket player Steve Waugh.

“We’ve realized that people across the globe have the same basic needs, dreams and aspirations,” Carter, 82, said at a press conference at the work site. “Habitat’s program depends on finding families who cannot otherwise afford housing.”

Last month, Pitt and Jolie formed the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which will give $2 million to Global Action for Children and Doctors Without Borders to help families affected by HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty.

Brad looks really good there. I’m so glad that Brad & Angelina set up that foundation. I know that Angelina’s generosity has been taken advantage of at some point in the past. With an official foundation, every cent will have to be accounted for and every recipient of the donation will have to be checked out.

The juxtaposition of the humor in that plus the words to a harmless upbeat oldie, and the slow creepy manner in which they’re delivered is surprising and controversial, like all that artsy f*rtsy stuff always seems to be.

AG, I read that yesterday and I did not want to touch any story about Oprah anymore. The funny funny thing is that the same people that are saying how wonderful her gesture is, are the same people bashing Angie. What can you say about a woman who blamed her most recent weight gain on how she had to eat only bread while she was in Africa because she could not trust the meat. The irony of it that you spent time with people without food but blame their country for your weight gain, will be lost only to Oprah and fans.

I have tried to stay away from JJ today so I can get some work done.

On that Vanity Fair interview which Jennifer Aniston did, I was furious when I read that. Vanity Fair brought up the past and did not mention that Jolie has CHANGED for the better. Anybody who didnt know about Jolie would have had the wrong impression of her.

Brad Pitt struts his stuff on the cover of December’s Vanity Fair — and TMZ has learned that no one was more surprised to see the steamy cover on stands than Brad himself.
A source close to Pitt tells TMZ that Brad shot the photos, taken by artist Robert Wilson, in September 2005, but didn’t have any idea at the time — or anytime since — that they would be used for the cover of VF. Pitt had agreed to be in Wilson’s avant-garde video art project last year, and signed a legal release at the time for the still and video images taken in the shoot. But until the Vanity Fair cover emerged this week, Pitt didn’t know that he would be the magazine’s coverboy.
Reps for Vanity Fair tell TMZ, “In a letter dated October 5, 2006, and sent to Pitt care of Brillstein-Grey [Pitt's managers], Wilson informed Pitt that a still image from his portrait was going to be featured in the December art issue of Vanity Fair.” A source says that Pitt never saw the letter.
TMZ has also learned that Sacha Baron Cohen, star of the upcoming film “Borat,” was slated to be on the December cover, but Cohen’s reps were told that Vanity Fair had decided to produce a special “Art Issue” for December instead, and that he was being pulled as the cover subject. It may be that steadily under-performing series of cover subjects this year — with the exception of Suri Cruise in October’s issue — may have led Vanity Fair’s editors to substitute Pitt for Cohen. Indeed, Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have fronted some of Vanity Fair’s best-selling issues.
Pitt’s lawyers are said to be weighing their legal options. His rep gave the following statement to TMZ: “We are very disappointed that Vanity Fair has chosen to put an unauthorized cover on their magazine. It seriously makes me question their integrity and motives.”
A rep for Vanity Fair tells TMZ: “Brad Pitt posed for a Robert Wilson video portrait, and in the photo release (signed by Pitt), agreed to allow Wilson to use the portrait or any images from that sitting in connection with any publicity on Wilson’s video project. I’m sorry, but I don’t believe Brad Pitt operates like that. He’s a powerful man, and I’m extremely doubtful he’d grace the cover of a major magazine without giving them permission to put him there. I don’t believe he lives in the past about that interview, and I don’t believe he’s baned himself from doing business with them because of it. I have yet to read, hear or see one time where Brad has said he won’t work with VF, and until then, I’m not inclined to believe he’s harboring no ill will with anyone there to the point of giving them that kind of power over him, and that’s would it would be. I could never imagine him allowing anyone to stop him from moving freely as it pertains to his career, and magazines are part of that.

I mean, in all of the years BP has been in the public eye, the most we have seen of him is his chest and his butt-never the full monty(although there are sites out there that have pics of that, so I’ve heard). And it isn’t a coincidence that he’s getting positive buzz about Babel and just gave an interview stating that he’s concerned about how his decisions, in terms of work, would affect his kids, although I am sure that they’ve seen him boxers or at least, swim trunks.

Between suing Vanity Fair, E! network, and that man in Cambodia, their lawyers are going to be busy. And I can’t for them to sue all of them. Vanity Fair and that guy in Cambodia especially.

I don’t know if we should trust this specific TMZ article. It has some things that are obviously false and very tabloidish. Like :

If BP does sue, I think he’s got a case. Didn’t Jessica Alba sue Playboy for using a promotional pic from Into the Deep or Into the Blue or whatever it was called without her permission? Although, I do think her lawsuit was more about Playboy implying that she had a pictoral within their mag.

Vanity Fair will never get my $$. I made that decision after the Chin hatchet job and if tmz is to believed, I have one more reason to never purchase the mag again.

I’m not being sweet here lol. No, this is business, and based on who Brad Pitt has consistantly said he is, how he operates, how he moves on down the road and owns his errors, I really think he could care less. I don’t see him allowing that poor poor choice made by VF to stop him from utilizing them if he felt the need. I know some people here think I say grey because some same blue, or I’m being deliberatly contrary (or at least that’s what a little birdy once told me) but that isnt the case. I just don’t believe Brad and Angelina spend as much if any time concerning themselves with what we concern ourselves with. Why move heaven and earth to be together only to keep the past in the middle of the room and to me, choosing to kick all those magazines, tv shows and hosts, or other HW people who took issue with his split, or appeared to side with JA is “keeping the past in the middle of the room.” I’m more apt to believe he and Oprah won’t be lunching anytime soon, but even that may not be the case. Here it is straight no chaser….I don’t think he gives to much of a d@mn about what isn’t anymore. I may be wrong, and I’m not trying to cover myself should I be wrong, I’m just being honest about who I think the guy is, and I’m using basing totally on who I think he is, and I think he’s amazing.

ET showed a new Cameron Diaz photo spread…in some upcoming mag, can’t recall which one…maybe W? But her pics were gorgeous…she was airbrushed beyond belief, because everyone knows her skin looks like the moon, and her nose is like a hamhock….

…..but what struck me about the pics…is HOW MUCH, she or whomever was going for a serious Angelina-like quality….the long dark hair…the smoldering looks…Cameron was channeling AJ BIG TIME!

Is it just me, or does it slightly steam you to see people co-opting the Angie-ness (be it Madge, or Cam, or whomever)?

Plus, after years of saying she loved her broken flat messed up nose, Cameron is now saying, ‘I’m fixing it. I’m over it.’ LOLOL

That too is probably Angie related…seeing that gorgeous face and perfect schnoz on the cover of mags, puts even beauties like Cameron on high alert.

Stardust, in my thinking, VF didn’t violate BP’s trust. Jennifer Aniston and her posse were the culprits. That interviewer was seriously unprofessional in allowing her own personal opinion to color the piece as it did, and she crossed the line as a journalist to the point that she shouldn’t even refer to herself as one anymore and keep a straight face while doing it, but even she at the end of the day did not violate BP’s trust. She asked the questions, she interjected her own peronal opinions, but it ultimately was Jennifer Aniston and the TGC who raked Brad over the coals, and Jennifer Aniston allowed it. I think I read somewhere that she cried foul on one part of it, but that’s it. In the end JA gave Leslie B. the interview, and VF printed it.

Original JPF and others, I agree that Brad isn’t going to get hung up and vindictive about talking to Vanity Fair, or Oprah. He’s a professional who’s going to do what needs to be done to promote this films, image etc.. I’m sure he understands the game and doesn’t take it all that personally.

It would be interesting to see if Brad actually signed away all rights to the use of his image to the photographer. The devil is in the fine print. Did he really sign away all rights? For example, did he sign away rights allowing the photos or video to be photoshopped and used in a pornographic movie? It would be interesting to find out if Brad does indeed pursue legal action against the photographer.

As for Lainey, I’m going to speak up in defence of that lady. She can’t help the conspiracy bit, she’s chinese. Gossip about clothes, relationships, whatever, aren’t really all that important and she is entitled to speculate - same as anyone else. At least she admits, she doesn’t know more then the next person what is happening in the BAMZS camp. She can speculate about Brad and Angelina but on the important issue of whether they had welched on giving to charity, she stepped up to the plate and won me over as a fan.

I’m pretty sure Brad and Angelina would want their charity work to be reported accurately.

Lainey DID WRITE TO THE AFRICAN CHARITIES and verified that the money was donated - which is more then you or I or what all those newspapers, including reputable ones like Sydney Morning Herald, had bothered to do, though the latter did print a correction. Lainey did write about how her sources had informed her that Brad stayed the whole day in HfH building, and now verified by PEOPLE magazine. When I read that he had only worked for 1/2 an hour, I knew people like Ritzygal was going to show up with the article. It would appear that these newspapers got it WRONG AGAIN.

I don’t think anyone needs to go on national TV or call People magazine to clarify whether or not they are or are not in a relationship, had or had not had a boob job, whatever, even if the news was reported in CNN or the BBC. I do think that reports on charitable work done by celebrities, should be responsibily and accurately reported because if people think that Celebrities are only doing it for publicity and are not going to follow through, it could turn the public off very worthwhile causes and issues. I for one, hope no one follows K Fed to Botswana or whereever he thinks he wants to go. he would make the seriousness of highlighting the plight of the poor and underprivileged in Africa, India, China and elsewhere a joke.

I agree with Original jpf. I don’t think B or A hold any grudge against VF, at least not to the point of never doing an article with them, or be on their covers. They probably will never do an interview with L Bennett, and I think that’s about it.Just because she works for VF doesn’t mean she owns it or represents it. It’s all business. And the fact they put B&A on their cover is a flattery to B&A. They are saying, we know you are big movie stars, and our mags will sell with you on the cover. As for this issue to outsell the one with X last year, I am sure it won’t. Not because X has more fans than B&A, but because people know that there is no tell-all interview by BP in this issue. If there were something sensational to be revealed by BP, I am sure it will sell well.

That’s the whole point. Brad’s people stressed ‘unauthorized’ — I don’t know too much about Hollywood, but I know enough that putting an ‘unauthorized’ photo - which was done FOR THE ARTIST by THE ACTOR…or any other kind of unauthorized pic, PERIOD, of a BIG MOVIE STAR is almost NEVER done. Especially when you’re talking mags of this caliber. Afterall, they’re not The Enquirer.

Reputable magazines almost always want it cleared with the big stars, precisely because they aren’t interested in winding up on the stars bad side, and having them not do another cover. Most stars are okay with old pics from old shoots (also known as ‘file’ shots) being used on the covers of mags like Good Housekeeping or Redbook or other magazines, that typically don’t conduct ‘photo shoots’ per se. It’s business for the mag, and publicity for the star.

But Brad is not only beyond that — Vanity Fair was thought to be BEYOND that as well. They are NOT some hairstyle magazine, they don’t need ti lower themselves to these kinds of machinations.

But having stooped so low with maniston, they haven’t got far to fall.

This is very telling, in that their actions tell me that Brad made it known a while back, that he was cutting ties or not working with them — and so VF is obviously not too concerned about burning bridges with Brad, hence we get him in his underwear, doing an artistic ‘thing’ that 90% of the public that watches ET or reads their mag, won’t get. This was a hit job on Brad, no mistake.

Something else he can thank Maniston for.

I’m sure they’ll repay Brad by having Maniston round two, in the not so distant future, or perhaps go one better and have a ‘revealing’ interview with Vaughn, and get Leslie Bennetts to do the write up. I can see it now, Vaughn will be positioned by the COW as the white knight who SAVED the whiny damsel in distress from her humiliation at the hands of the lying cheating scumbag who’s minus a sensitivity chip.

X went on LK, I think (I read it on Yahoo news), to comment on the article. Never said anything about L Bennett’s defamation of AJ, but did correct the ‘erroneous’ reporting that she cried twice in the interview. She said something like: “I was depicted as a crier, wasn’t I? I actually only cried once”. That’s why I despise her so much. She only cares about how she is perceived, and would give a damn on how others are slandered to make her look good. I actually was glad when I read her VF article. I thought right away that she shot herself in the foot. But I didn’t believe the article 100%, until she commented about it. She shot herself in the other foot with it. That’s why, BP was able to move on so quickly. People who didn’t read the article blame him for it, but the ones who did, say to him: “you go Brad! no more mr Nice Guy. That hag doesn’t deserve it.”

I don’t mind Lainey’s conspiracy theories except when she has a double standard. Paltrow goes to the Babel premiere and Lainey keeps mum and stops being her typical paranoid self, but as soon as Brad and Angie are photographed simply taking their kids to the park, conspiracies abound suddenly in her head. And she is simply demeaning the way she puts the fans down.

In the Newsweek article Seven Things I’d Rather Talk About… Than the Men in (or Out) of My Life, Jennifer Aniston takes the opportunity to air her hard-hitting views about the world in a Serious Publication. And what did she choose to talk about? The fact that she probably doesn’t cry as much as we think she cries. Smart move…

Jennifer Aniston has a reputation. She’s seen as a flake, as the
sad-eyed, self-obsessed woman who has spent every second since her
separation from Brad Pitt being a chain-smoking wreck who has to scream at
the sea to ease her pain. But that’s apparently not the case.

Having a full-on emotional breakdown during a Vanity Fair interview
probably didn’t help Jennifer Aniston all that much - crying and
blubbering through your first post-split interview tends to give the
impression that you’re, you know, a little unstable.

And in Newsweek, Aniston got the chance to hit back. She said (in point 3, entitled How Little I Actually Cry):

“I’m pegged as a crier, aren’t I? I was upset about the Vanity Fair
article. I had one moment when I got emotional because I hadn’t sat
down with an interviewer since this whole debacle took place. It

See? She doesn’t cry a lot. Just at films. And baby programmes. And
interviews. Quite a lot of things, really. In fact, Jennifer probably
cries more than we thought she did.

But that’s just the tip of her wisdom iceberg. Aniston imparts all
kinds of crazy knowledge throughout the Newsweek article, including:

“I had never done a thriller before.”

“Nothing is worse than a guy with an eye job—and don’t think we can’t tell.”

“Where are all the sitcoms?”

“How about that indictment?!”

“I also want to know why Steve Perry left Journey.”

Original Curious, the cover shot isn’t all that bad and no it’s not the worst thing in the world. You said that it looks “sexy”. That’s what others have been pointing out from their posts, that Brad, judging from his recent interviews, does not want to be seen as “sexy” or the guy who poses in his boxers. He wants to be seen as a father, a man, not a Hollywood pretty boy who is just sexy. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind appearing sexy but from now, but he probably wants to do that with his clothes on from now on. This picture is Brad from 2004. The pictures show a Brad that was prior to Angelina being in his life, prior to him becoming a dad to three kids, prior to him being villified by the media. This was pretty boy Brad. His life has changed and he wants to reflect that in his interviews, in his movies and the images he puts out there. So it might not be the worst thing in the world to happen to him, but it does put out a false notion of the image Brad is trying to project to the world. That’s my take on it and I will not buying this Vanity Fair because this isn’t the Brad I’m a fan of. The image above is of the old Brad. I like the new Brad way better and because Vanity Fair is a lying piece of garbage!!!

Exactly. Both Babel and a Mighty Heart are indies and their respective production budgets are $20 -25 million. Financial success at the box office for either of these films is anywhere from $50 - 60 million. The real goal is to receive critic awards.

German director Robert Schwentke (”Flightplan”) is in final negotiations to shoot “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” a love story based on the celebrated book by Audrey Niffenegger,

The New Line Cinema project follows a man who has a genetic disorder known as “chrono-impairment,” which causes him to travel through time involuntarily.

Steven Spielberg and David Fincher both flirted with the project, and Gus Van Sant was in negotiations to direct it early last year. No star is attached at this time.

I can’t believe VF. I really can’t. I’ve never been that big into celebrity gossip or pop culture in general until recently, but what I realize now is how manipulative the media really is.

I plan on going to Grad school for Journalism and this stuff is fascinating. Never in my life have I seen such a lack of journalistic integrity. I read that VF article by JA and I thought it was manipulative, but I’ve been trying to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I realize now that it’s clear. VF is no more than a “high class tabloid”, which is just as bad as a “high class hooker.”, sounds better than a prostitute but still the same damn thing.

There is one part of the VF article which to me is a blatant lie. I’m actually going to look it up again just to make sure my eyes didn’t deceive me.

This is also an election year and what the media does with celebrity when an election year is here is just fascinating. All the drama and scandal come out to distract the masses.
