i think angelina jolie is a wonderful person, she is an excellant role model and such a caring mother.

I sort of wondered when and where her next UNHCR work would take place.
Angie has so many things to do, and she looks very happy doing them.

Angie wanted her children to see how less fortunate people live so that her children would not be spoiled and also grow up to support every people who need helps. I think it is a great idea. Last summer I took my child to Indonesia to help earthquake victims. Patents tend to spoil their children with lots of materials and too much comfort, so I think it is really good idea for children to see there are people who are suffering. It is good education for children so that they should be less whiny and unselfish.

It’s great to see Angie getting back into the field with the UNHCR. I also think it’s great that she took Maddox on the trip with her. Even if he didn’t go to the refugee camp with her, they’ll be together in the evening for some one-on-one time like the old days. Plus, the little guy is probably missing Brad so it’s great the Angie took him with her rather than leaving him back at the hotel in Pune.

Man you really don’t know other cultures do you? Some cultures like mine when you enter my house you don’t wear your shoes. It’s a sign of disrespect if you wear your shoes all over my house. For a house of one room, that is also the place where they eat, sleep, pray, where their children do homework, play etc. I have lived in a one room house before and anyone who came and didn’t take their shoes off, we never invited them again!!!

I would be intimidated to talk to someone who is beautiful, well groomed, dresses well and rich because I don’t feel they would relate to my situation. So if she were to visit refugees with full makeup on, manicures done and in a Gucci dress, I don’t think she could get anything done. I love how she can forget about all of the Hollywood stuff and do it is so admirable to me. I love her for that. I can’t see anyone else in Hollywood doing that.

BTW: I just got back for watching Babel, and let me say that it was FANTASTIC, I love every part of it, there was sadness, happiness, it was so emotional and I cried. Brad was INCREDIBLE as Richard, it is the best I ever seen him in a movie, he played the part of Richard to perfection, I am telling you guys that man need to be nominated for an OSCAR and he needs to win it; and Cate was GREAT. You guys better go and see Babel, it is worth the money. Babel is the best movie I have seen in a long long time. Everybody in Babel was wonderful, they all need a fantastic job. the crowd were very into Babel, it was very quiet in the theater, everybody were so into the movie, we did not want to miss anything, the theater was not full, but there were alot of people and the reaction after the movie were loud clapping and appreciation for a movie that was done beautifully and can teach us so much.

It’s very admirable to visit with the downtrodden; however, Ms. Jolie’s mother (if you can believe all Jolie’s PR hype) is deathly ill. I would think a Hell of a lot more of her if she were on that plane with the Pope to LA to see her mother and help her through these “last days”. I would think that seeing her grandchildren would certainly help her in her cancer fight.

Since Mama Theresa didn’t bother to do so, I will assume that any other tear-jerking PR or photo ops about her mother are just horse manure.

Brad and Angie have the best fans in the world!!! Thanks for all the Babel reviews.

I see now some people are discussing AJ’s feet. Critics will nitpick anything concerning this woman. The woman is absolutely beautiful with a big heart and caring spirit and someone is critiquing her feet. Simply amazing. AJ is the only woman I know who can garner such scrutiny and still live her life without affectation. Some celebrities, one who will go nameless, are afraid to come out of their Malibu Mansion, unless they are styled to perfection or hiding behind their “world famous” hair. I hope this puts to rest all the “She’s pregnant” stuff, because I do not think she is. She certainly doesn’t look it here.

I have to laugh at the criticisms of how “easily” Angie leaves her children, and how she’s dragging them all around the world and “damaging” them. Puhleeze! Angie spends more time with her children than most working moms. She has been home with them for months before this trip, and now suddenly she is not giving them a stable home. A one month working vacation and a day trip here and there away from children under two doesn’t translate to instability and abandonment, and it’s ignorant to make such a conclusion.

Also, how can anyone look at that lovely face Angie has on her and comment on her feet? Good Lord. Feet are just feet, and when you get right down to it, nobody’s feet are what I’d call pretty. Besides, I wouldn’t be ragging on somebody’s feet that know the back of Brad’s thighs as intimately as La Jolie’s do. I’d say thise are some pretty happy feet!

The truth of the matter is that Angie went out to check on the refugees and the less fortunate. The ‘haters’ like to cause diversion by going on to irrelevant things to set an ugly tone for something that’s good. Let’s stick to the important topics - Babel and their humanitarian work. People in many foreign countries are situations far worse than in the US. The US has plenty of aid programs in place. Other countries do not. If you feel so strrongly about it, do some volunteer work yourself.

You are the same typo of person who complains “why doesn’t Angelina adopt from the US instead of adoption from some third world country?”

You know why she can adopt from there? Because it’s her freaking life and she gets to decide where she decides to adopt from. And why do you place kids in America on a higher priority level than kids from other countries? What is it that bothers you so much that Angelina didn’t adopt an American child? Every orphaned kid in the WORLD needs help and a loving home, why does it make a difference where someone decides to adopt from? That’s a very personal decision to make and only people can decide that for themselves, not the public and not some random person on a blog.

You somehow think that the US and its problems should be placed above every other country’s. Do you think in your deranged mind that American children are more important than children from other countries.

“Why don’t Brad and Angelina help with our country” - Well, I thought that’s exactly what Brad was doing when he went to New Orleans to help the rebuilding process there. And from their interviews, you can tell that they view the world as their world. It’s not a our country and their country thing for them. When something big occurs on the other side of the world, you can bet it will have far reaching effects. It’s called globalization.

Why do you have a “us against them” thought of mindset? You know I remember what Angelina said once in an interview. If you are just trying to protect and help one country while the rest of the world rots and burns, eventually that will spread and no country will be saved.

Is there supposed to be a difference in how she treats her kids because two are adopted and one is biological? Because it sure sounds like that from your post. Is Shiloh more important than Maddox and Zahara because she is a bio kid?

Little do some realize that parenting per se and the issues around it are not much different in the case of adoption, as in bringing up biological children. The birth process itself is a very very small part of parenting. What makes you a parent is watching a child grow, sharing the good and bad times, playing together, nurturing, and making him/her a whole person. Just because you don’t see Angelina playing with Shiloh, who is barely 5 months (many kids that age just sleep eat and poop) doesn’t mean she isn’t spending quality with her also.

We know that an adopted child’s character/future is just as uncertain as it is with a biological child. When parents adopt a child, they are filling their own lives with all the joys and all the pains of parenting just as they do when they decide to have a biological child. There really is no difference.

No we’re not obssessed. We are informed and therefore we admire her efforts to help others. You on the other hand are not only obssessed with what Angelina does and doesn’t do, but you also obssessed with her fans! All of which honestly makes you sound not only jealous that this couple has fans but also you sound disturbed because you are making Brad’s divorce with Jen a personal issue. Technically, Orphanages have been outlawed in the United States back in the 1930’s because of the extreme brutality against minors. It was vicious because there were no laws on the books protecting the welfare of children. If you hear or read about “orphanages” in this country, they really mean foster & group homes. The word “orphanages” has Third World connotations so it should not be used in the same sentence with the words United States ((rolling my eyes)).

I don;t understand why haters ask why Brad & Angelina aren’t doing anything in this country. You can’t just say “well done” ? Yes people & institutions need help in this country but there are programs in place for some most of these. Many want to get rid of what little social programs are out there now. There are also many religious, & philanthropic organizations that help. Anything else has got to be taken care of by your President. That’s what he was elected for.

You are so right. I woork in a group home for teen girls but I know the foster care and public assitance programs first hand. There financial aid programs for families trying to keep their kids too. Every child is either in group homes or foster homes infants stay in foster care until adoptions go through. Every child in this country is entitled to financial aid, foods stamps, medical and education. These are federal programs so they’re eligible in every sate. If anyone has seen children in need of any of these thing it’s because of lack of knowledge of the systen, not because there is none.

Re: wireimages - it seems like a recent disclaimer because the person I credited always check that site and never saw the disclaimer before.

There is definitely a watchdog monitoring these agencies from Pitts camp.

I highly doubt it but I think this is what they are aiming for.

Now it makes so much sense why they acted the way they did with VFair. VFair is not on their list. So, when Graydon chose to put Brad on cover, he probably thought since he sent a letter to Camp Pitt a while back as usually done over and over in the past, it was business as usual but then Brads camp is - Hell to the no. And they purposefully publicized what they really think of Vanity Fairs - *integrity and motives*.

I think this was also their way to notify the other magazines - they know who they are - to be really careful if they dont want bad publicity.

Brad Pitt is ranked 20th in Forbes’ list of powerful celebrities and earns an estimated $20 million a movie.

But he increasingly has gained respect for being more than just a pretty face. To those in the business, his appeal is as obvious as those piercing baby blues.

”He is arguably one of the biggest stars in the world, if not the biggest. Men want to be him, and women want to be with him,” says Jerry Weintraub, who has produced the ”Ocean’s” movie franchise and has been friends with Pitt for years.

Pitt’s career has never been better. He’s starring in unconventional films that show his grizzled side, such as ”Babel.” And through Plan B, he is producing edgy projects including ”Running With Scissors” and the current box office hit ”The Departed.” He’s also producing ”A Mighty Heart,” starring girlfriend Angelina Jolie, 31, as the widow of murdered reporter Daniel Pearl.

In ”Babel,” Pitt plays a helpless husband who tries to save his wife, who is accidentally shot while on a tense vacation in Morocco. Variety praises Pitt for giving his character ”weight and strength,” and the Hollywood Reporter calls his performance ”committed.”

Bring up Pitt’s name to anyone associated with him, and you hear stories of personal thank-you notes, congratulatory e-mails and a level of thoughtfulness unusual in a star of his caliber.

”Brad is not pretentious. There’s nothing artsy-fartsy about him,” says ”Running With Scissors” director Ryan Murphy. ”Brad is incredibly enthusiastic. I heard he’d liked the script, and I met him at the [production] offices, and here come these handmade Prada shoes with Brad Pitt attached. He said something to me like, ‘You’ve got wicked skills.’ ”

That unaffectedness, says Simon Kinberg, who wrote the 2005 hit ”Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” ”is kind of an amazing thing. It’s not a game or strategy with him.”

In particular, Kinberg remembers one long day of shooting when the exhausted cast and crew had worked into the night and saw no end in sight.

”Brad, out of the blue, started doing jumping jacks, calling out to the crew, getting everyone’s spirits up at 4 a.m. at some awful diner in downtown L.A.,” Kinberg says. ”He was the guy who would cheerlead for the movie — and he didn’t have to. He’s the top, and the energy flows from the top down.”

Pitt doesn’t mind looking less than perfect. In ”Babel,” he goes gray and has bags under his eyes.

This isn’t a star with blockbuster on the brain. Ever since he stole hearts in 1991’s ”Thelma & Louise,” he has had hits (1995’s serial killer drama ”Se7en,” last year’s ”Mr. & Mrs. Smith”), but just as many misses (1997’s ”Seven Years in Tibet,” 2004’s ”Troy”). He has earned one Oscar nomination, for his supporting turn in 1995’s ”Twelve Monkeys.” These days, Pitt mixes it up. He took a pay cut for 2007’s ”The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” but he’s also reprising Rusty Ryan in the third ”Ocean’s” installment, due in June.

Film historian Leonard Maltin applauds Pitt’s willingness to ‘’sacrifice some of his movie-star persona for the sake of a really good part. What we’re seeing is his willingness, if not downright eagerness, to challenge himself with more demanding and daring roles.”

And that gets major props from Darren Aronofsky, who was ready to direct Pitt in ”The Fountain” before the actor dropped out because of creative differences.

”Brad’s a great guy, and we’re still friendly. We’re OK with the breakup,” Aronofsky says. ”Brad’s a really smart, very talented guy. He’s come to a place in his work where he’s doing interesting stuff. He’s looking great. The pretty-boy thing wasn’t my type of hetero joy. I like the wizened Brad now.”

Others appreciate his taste for the unconventional, such as his decision to executive-produce the documentary ”God Grew Tired of Us: The Story of Lost Boys of Sudan.” Writer/director Christopher Quinn had run out of money and says that, without Pitt’s help, the movie would likely not have been made. Quinn, introduced through mutual friends, met Pitt at his home.

The meeting was casual and Pitt was disarming. But, Quinn says, he ”has incredible follow-through. When we won [two awards] at Sundance, he sent me a note saying how proud he was to be a part of the movie.”

I can never get that right….Anyhoo, since I slept most of the day away, I find myself wide awake (stupid cold medicine…renders useless) and like a good Bamzs fans, the only option is to drop by ( isn’t that the number rule in the Bamsville code of conduct (BOC)?). Okay…seriously, what happened to our pact not to have fun when I’m not here? Jeez, not only did you have fun, you got a clown too. well, it’s a good thing I don’t like clowns (ah ha!)….can’t stand ‘em. First off, they are not funny and they go on and on with the same routine…but you can’t tell them to stop….noooo, they see that as encouragement. I’ve found the best thing to do is just IGNORE them. I mean seriously, they are clowns, they don’t add anything of value to the convo and thank goodness Jared (God bless him) has made it real easy to spot ‘em. You see the name and merrily skip their idiotic posts. Don’t get me wrong…their posts usually makes for a good laugh but after a while (which for me is half way through the first post) it becomes boring. So I act like they are not there and soon enough, like someone said, they become WHITE NOISE.

Now to matters of importance, AJ is beautiful doing what she loves. I am very happy for the woman from Myanmar and her children….their lives is not gonna be the same. Some people ( and you know who they are) will expect instant results….like “AJ visited them on Saturday, why aren’t they living in a mansion on Sunday….see, it’s just photo-op, she didn’t do anything”…to us, this sounds silly but we have to understand these people don’t know any better and since the second rule in the Bamzsville code of conduct is to inform, I want to do my part this morning, so here goes….This is not a fairy tale and AJ is not a godmother with a magic wand. Often times, the feeling you get from the knowledge that someone out there cares for you and what you are going through, can give you the strength to forge ahead…there is hope and with that comes life. Even if this is the only thing (which we all know isn’t) achieved from this visit, we should still applaud AJ.

It NEVER ceases to amaze me how some people can ignore someone’s misfortune but quickly notice the most inconsequential thing. How do you read about refugee kids and the only thing that comes to your mind id nail polish and ugly feet? Are you KIDDING ME?!!! Jesus, look around you, there are uglier things happening in the world. Seriously….in the grand scheme of things….children starving, people dying, families left homeless…nail polish is…is goodness, it shouldn’t even be brought up. I really praise AJ for taking her son there; rest assured he is not going to grow up dismissive of others plight for something completely stupid. If only some people’s parent taught them that their privileged life style is not a right but SHEER LUCK, we won’t have to pause in our discussion to explain why nail polish is not of importance when people are DYING.

The first time I heard of it was summer 2005, when haters deemed it as karma for AJ’s alleged bad behavior. Tabloids are the mags that focus on it; they brought it up anytime she travels-even devising the theory that Baby Jolie-Pitt would be born in France as a Lion King’s Circle of Life story bullshit. The ‘Upset Angie in the SUV’ thread on this board, again was drawn from conclusion.

No one knows the real state of Marcheline’s health, and quite frankly it’s none of our business. And it is quite possible that if Marcheline’s condition is as grave as haters hope it is, that Marcheline and Angelina have an agreement between the two of them. It’s been known to happen, you know, that gravely ill/dying people don’t want certain people to be present-most of the time it’s out of anger, sometimes out of love. Some people cannot die if someone they love is present because they are too concerned about how witnessing it would affect the survivor.
