OlderAngelina Jolie Serves Sikh
UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie has been on a two-day visit to the Indian capital, listening to Sikh children playing religious music at the Khalsa Diwan Welfare Society in New Delhi, an organization run by Afghan refugees of the Sikh faith for other refugees. She chatted with students - some of the 9,500 Afghan refugees under the direct care of the UN refugee agency in India — about their passion for learning English and computer skills.
Angelina also made time to talk with a refugee woman from Myanmar in the one-room home she shares with her three children in New Delhi. The woman, one of the 1,750 refugees from Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) under the care of UNHCR in India, told Jolie that they had fled after her husband was arrested by Burma’s military government.

NEW DELHI: Giving papparazi the slip, Hollywood diva Angelina Jolie on Saturday spent some time with Sikh Afghan and Myanmarese refugees in the capital.
Accompanied by her five-year-old son Maddox, Jolie arrived in the capital just past noon and drove to the refugee camps run by the Khalsa Diwan Welfare Society and UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Clad in a white T-shirt and blue jeans, Jolie, the UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and her son listened to Sikh children playing religious music at the Welfare Society run by Afghan refugees of the Sikh faith.
She chatted with the students among some 9,500 Afghan Sikh refugees under the direct care of UNHCR and was appreciative of their passion for learning English and computer skills.
The Hollywood star, in India for shooting a film ‘A Mighty Heart’ on the life of slain Wall Street Journal correspondent Daniel Pearl, also visited a woman refugee from Myanmar in her one-room home where she lives with her three children.
The woman, one of the 1,750 refugees from Myanmar, told Jolie that they fled after her husband was arrested by the military government in Myanmar, a press statement issued by UNHCR said.
“I am grateful to the refugee families who spent time with me today and shared their stories. They are remarkable, courageous people, it quoted Jolie as saying.
Jolie, on a two-day visit here, will be meeting Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma on Sunday.
Jolie will be accompanied by UN officials at the meeting with Sharma and the discussions are expected to centre around issues relating to refugees and children.

It’s very admirable to visit with the downtrodden; however, Ms. Jolie’s mother (if you can believe all Jolie’s PR hype) is deathly ill. I would think a Hell of a lot more of her if she were on that plane with the Pope to LA to see her mother and help her through these “last days”. I would think that seeing her grandchildren would certainly help her in her cancer fight.
Since Mama Theresa didn’t bother to do so, I will assume that any other tear-jerking PR or photo ops about her mother are just horse manure.

I applaud you for exposing your young one to the misfortunes of others and I agree young children need to see the other side of how other children in the world live in order to appreciate what they have…children especially understand the concept of unconditional giving and they are naturally sympathetic to children who have no shoes or have no home.

I see now some people are discussing AJ’s feet. Critics will nitpick anything concerning this woman. The woman is absolutely beautiful with a big heart and caring spirit and someone is critiquing her feet. Simply amazing. AJ is the only woman I know who can garner such scrutiny and still live her life without affectation. Some celebrities, one who will go nameless, are afraid to come out of their Malibu Mansion, unless they are styled to perfection or hiding behind their “world famous” hair. AJ respect other people’s cultures and has been very effective for the United Nations. She has carried out her role with dedication and grace. Best wishes to the entire family.

Angie looks so happy and radiant in these photos! Good on her for keeping up the UNHCR work.
I hope this puts to rest all the “She’s pregnant” stuff, because I do not think she is. She certainly doesn’t look it here.
I have to laugh at the criticisms of how “easily” Angie leaves her children, and how she’s dragging them all around the world and “damaging” them. Puhleeze! Angie spends more time with her children than most working moms. She has been home with them for months before this trip, and now suddenly she is not giving them a stable home. A one month working vacation and a day trip here and there away from children under two doesn’t translate to instability and abandonment, and it’s ignorant to make such a conclusion.
Also, how can anyone look at that lovely face Angie has on her and comment on her feet? Good Lord. Feet are just feet, and when you get right down to it, nobody’s feet are what I’d call pretty. Besides, I wouldn’t be ragging on somebody’s feet that know the back of Brad’s thighs as intimately as La Jolie’s do. I’d say thise are some pretty happy feet!

The truth of the matter is that Angie went out to check on the refugees and the less fortunate. The ‘haters’ like to cause diversion by going on to irrelevant things to set an ugly tone for something that’s good. Let’s stick to the important topics - Babel and their humanitarian work. A lot of us learn from these important discussions. At this point, the haters can believe what they want.
I would like to comment on the love scene of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I was watching the movie on DVD and I have HD TV and the thing I noticed is that they were always talking to each other in their love scenes. You can’t hear but you can see! That’s what stood out to me. When I saw it in the theatre you couldn’t hear things as well I guess. But I know for a fact that when they fall to the floor Brad calls her name “ANGIE” out in passion. I stands out so clearly on my sound systems. DId anyone else hear that?
If you have timne look at it and listen and you will be suprised. Again maybe it was script, but I find it hard to believe b/c he mistakingly called her name when they fell to the floor.

First, it doesn’t sound like BBT and Laura Dern had such a great relationship, because obviously there wasn’t much communication between them. And speaking of Laura D, you DO know she went on to get preggers with Ben Harper’s baby before he was divorced, don’t you?
Now, the whole “cheating” thing has been whipped like a dead horse, but just remember this…..being in love with someone doesn’t mean you are having hot, banging sex with them…….yet. I do think Brad fell “instantaneously and passionately in love with Angie” (according to what Brad told Inarritu), and he did make a good faith effort to make his marriage work. A person cannot control who, how, and when they fall in love. It just happens. By ALL accounts, people on the MAMS set said there was never any inappropriate behavior. Besides, if Jen had been able to prove he cheated, she would have walked away with alot more than she got in the divorce settlement. She didn’t take Brad to the cleaners because there was no evidence he cheated on her.
Everything you said about their acting and the blood issue is just too stupid for me to even address.
Now, about Shiloh. You do not know how much she holds her baby. You are not in her house, and for you to say such a thing only shows you are fishing for put downs. If you wish to have a discussion, you’ll have to do better than that.

Your post is confusing to me. You agree with that poster who posts crazy crap and then you say that spending time, teaching them and raising them to be a better person are more difficult tasks than giving birth or adopting.
WHO SAID THAT WASNT TRUE? Angelina and Brad certainly seem to agree with that. They are wonderful caring attentive parents. Taking Maddox with her,teaching him compassion for others less well off… is a very good lesson for him to learn.
They are very lucky children.. and Brad and Angelina are very lucky to have them in their lives as well.
