OlderAngelina Jolie Serves Sikh
UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie has been on a two-day visit to the Indian capital, listening to Sikh children playing religious music at the Khalsa Diwan Welfare Society in New Delhi, an organization run by Afghan refugees of the Sikh faith for other refugees. She chatted with students - some of the 9,500 Afghan refugees under the direct care of the UN refugee agency in India — about their passion for learning English and computer skills.
Angelina also made time to talk with a refugee woman from Myanmar in the one-room home she shares with her three children in New Delhi. The woman, one of the 1,750 refugees from Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) under the care of UNHCR in India, told Jolie that they had fled after her husband was arrested by Burma’s military government.

NEW DELHI: Giving papparazi the slip, Hollywood diva Angelina Jolie on Saturday spent some time with Sikh Afghan and Myanmarese refugees in the capital.
Accompanied by her five-year-old son Maddox, Jolie arrived in the capital just past noon and drove to the refugee camps run by the Khalsa Diwan Welfare Society and UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Clad in a white T-shirt and blue jeans, Jolie, the UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and her son listened to Sikh children playing religious music at the Welfare Society run by Afghan refugees of the Sikh faith.
She chatted with the students among some 9,500 Afghan Sikh refugees under the direct care of UNHCR and was appreciative of their passion for learning English and computer skills.
The Hollywood star, in India for shooting a film ‘A Mighty Heart’ on the life of slain Wall Street Journal correspondent Daniel Pearl, also visited a woman refugee from Myanmar in her one-room home where she lives with her three children.
The woman, one of the 1,750 refugees from Myanmar, told Jolie that they fled after her husband was arrested by the military government in Myanmar, a press statement issued by UNHCR said.
“I am grateful to the refugee families who spent time with me today and shared their stories. They are remarkable, courageous people, it quoted Jolie as saying.
Jolie, on a two-day visit here, will be meeting Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma on Sunday.
Jolie will be accompanied by UN officials at the meeting with Sharma and the discussions are expected to centre around issues relating to refugees and children.

I would like to comment on the love scene of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I was watching the movie on DVD and I have HD TV and the thing I noticed is that they were always talking to each other in their love scenes. You can’t hear but you can see! That’s what stood out to me. When I saw it in the theatre you couldn’t hear things as well I guess. But I know for a fact that when they fall to the floor Brad calls her name “ANGIE” out in passion. I stands out so clearly on my sound systems. DId anyone else hear that?
If you have timne look at it and listen and you will be suprised. Again maybe it was script, but I find it hard to believe b/c he mistakingly called her name when they fell to the floor.

You are sadly misinformed. Laura Dern actually began an affair with BBT while he was married to Petra Cherniak. She and BBT were engaged “sorta” and it was a big sorta according to all involved by the time he and AJ hooked up. Laura Dern played the AJ card, and then she trumped her alleged nemsis. Miss Dern met, had an affair with, became pregnant by, and subsequently bore a son for one Ben Harper, a son which by the way was all of 5 months old when his daddy’s divorce finally became final. Anyone but me ever wonder why we never heard from Laura Dern on the subject of Angelina Jolie stealing her man after that? I personally guess it’s because Miss Dern would have to explain a thing or two herself. Next. Angelina no more stole, brokeup, caused even an iota of division betwixt Brad & Jennifer. You are the same typo of person who complains “why doesn’t Angelina adopt from the US instead of adoption from some third world country?”
You know why she can adopt from there? Because it’s her freaking life and she gets to decide where she decides to adopt from. And why do you place kids in America on a higher priority level than kids from other countries? What is it that bothers you so much that Angelina didn’t adopt an American child? Every orphaned kid in the WORLD needs help and a loving home, why does it make a difference where someone decides to adopt from? That’s a very personal decision to make and only people can decide that for themselves, not the public and not some random person on a blog.
You somehow think that the US and its problems should be placed above every other country’s. Do you think in your deranged mind that American children are more important than children from other countries.
“Why don’t Brad and Angelina help with our country” - Well, I thought that’s exactly what Brad was doing when he went to New Orleans to help the rebuilding process there. And from their interviews, you can tell that they view the world as their world. It’s not a our country and their country thing for them. When something big occurs on the other side of the world, you can bet it will have far reaching effects. It’s called globalization.
Why do you have a “us against them” thought of mindset? You know I remember what Angelina said once in an interview. If you are just trying to protect and help one country while the rest of the world rots and burns, eventually that will spread and no country will be saved.
And what’s up with you saying “first adopted child” and ” first born that came out of your womb”?
Is there supposed to be a difference in how she treats her kids because two are adopted and one is biological? Because it sure sounds like that from your post. Is Shiloh more important than Maddox and Zahara because she is a bio kid?
Little do some realize that parenting per se and the issues around it are not much different in the case of adoption, as in bringing up biological children. The birth process itself is a very very small part of parenting. What makes you a parent is watching a child grow, sharing the good and bad times, playing together, nurturing, and making him/her a whole person. Just because you don’t see Angelina playing with Shiloh, who is barely 5 months (many kids that age just sleep eat and poop) doesn’t mean she isn’t spending quality with her also.
We know that an adopted child’s character/future is just as uncertain as it is with a biological child. When parents adopt a child, they are filling their own lives with all the joys and all the pains of parenting just as they do when they decide to have a biological child. There really is no difference.
No we’re not obssessed. We are informed and therefore we admire her efforts to help others. You on the other hand are not only obssessed with what Angelina does and doesn’t do, but you also obssessed with her fans! All of which honestly makes you sound not only jealous that this couple has fans but also you sound disturbed because you are making Brad’s divorce with Jen a personal issue. You were not married to him. He wasn’t your husband. You’r not Jen. Get over it!!!

you people are so obsessed with this woman called Angelina Jolie that you forget that she stole Billy Bob Thornton from Laura Dern and Brad Pitt from Jennifer Aniston. Just because a relationship has problems it doesnt mean you cant wait a couple of months for the couples to officially separate instead of having them leading an affair with you. I commend Angie for her work in the U.N. and other charity works but still she is someone who you can forget what she has done which were breaking up relationships. If Jennifer promised so much and didnt keep her end of the bargain, Brad should have left the 2nd year of marriage and not result into cheating on a movie set with another woman. Same goes for Billy Bob where Laura Dern comes home and her fiance is someone else’s husband. All i can say is that Angelina is a chameleon to a point where she gravitates to her partner’s personalites. One minute shes walking around with blood on her neck with crazy ol Billy Bob now shes helping the poor with a man whose compassion is humanitarianism. yes i understand she won an academy award but so what because its like the academy doesnt know real acting anymore anyway because women like reese witherspoon and charlize theron won awards for mediocre acting. angie’s acting doesnt compare to the likes of annette bening or merly streep. its because shes beautiful shes getting by in the world. same goes for brad, brad whos in babel for 20 mins had movies in his career where he wasnt even considered for an oscar because of his okay acting and now since hes EVERYWHERE hes now in the oscar possibly the one thats going to win it. its ridiculous. why dont brad and angie help with our country as well? there are schools that need funding, orphanages that need help, but they go all the way to third war countries where the next offspring is going to live the same way anyway, at least they can help here too…and shiloh was just another publicity stunt how is it that u spend all your time with ur skinny carrying around ur first adopted child when your rarely even holding your first born that came out of your womb?

i’m just wondering how come it’s always the woman’s fault but never the man. i’m not going to lie, i was both a jennifer and angie fan, but more of angie’s. we don’t know what jennifer was like behind close doors. she might seem like america’s sweetheart just because she was on a show called friends, but she could also have been a neurotic *****…not that i’m calling her one, but she could have been. and i know people, famous or not who are just like that….they seem sweet from the outside, but a hell raiser inside. people who love angie will defend her like those who love jennifer will defend her. i think it’s just two people who grew apart and no longer shared the same goal. and i think brad finally found someone who shared the same passionate he did. and like someone said, angie is usually upfront about things. i remember in an interview with ann curry she said that she would never be with a man who would cheat on his wife. and after that, brad was smart enough to file for a divorce…..haha besides marriage is a lot of hard work…i should know because my parents are divorce and they seem happier with the person they are with now. not saying that they didn’t love each other but they were more like best friends instead of soulmates. and maybe that what happened to jen and brad….there love was based on friendship and not of a deeper connection like brad and angie…i’m just saying, it happens. it seems like everyone has moved on. why can’t everyone else?

Well you have to remember that the B&A fans here are a very large, diverse group. Most of us know Angie’s mom was sick at one time, but that she isn’t anymore. Whatever her condition is (nobody knows for sure) is stable right now. She’s not dying. Whatever she has is in remission.
