Brad’s demeanor in pictures and interviews since risking almost everything he worked for to be with Angie and Mad almost two year ago, is that of a very happy man. He certainly is in a great and beautiful place in his life. His family is his profound joy and love. Fatherhood, the most rewarding endeavour he is undertaking and doing a great job at it as per Angie. Then there is his Angie, his partner and his ace. His life is blessed!

WoW! As I read through all the post to catch up (it took over 2 hours!) I was amazed at how there was a lot of back and forth…Actually I started to get confused on who was who because after awhile everyone started to sound the same…too much cattiness and snide remarks…

Please be honest with me about this movie. I used to watch everything, but now I try to see only the best movies of the year. I’m not really a Brad Pitt fan, although I loved Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Troy. Is Babel really that good, or do you like it mostly because Brad is in it? I don’t want to feel let down after I spend my money. I also hope it’s not a depressing film. I’ve seen the reviews by critics, but I’m more interested in what the public thinks. If you guys say it’s really a good film, I’ll see it. So far, I love Leo Dicaprio’s movie. I thought it was the best this year. I’m also looking forward to his movie about the diamonds. In a week or two, I’m looking forward to “Casino Royale” because I’m a James Bond fan.

I was much more concerned about Angelina and Maddox. Angelina would’ve been forever scarred from the encounter, and possibly find it hard to get work. Maddox would’ve lost his fa ther figure after going through so much already in his young life.

I wouldn’t throw anything at you. It is a legitimate concern, since AJ clearly had some issues with regards to men who came into her life. I think she knew that some saw her as the ultimate conquest. And while she had needs, I suspect that satisfaction wouldn’t come at the cost of Maddox. This could be the reasoning behind meeting lovers at hotels- distance and protection for Maddox and maybe herself. Obviously, Brad has earned her trust and in turn, both are reaping the rewards of their newfound intimacy. In nearly every aspect of life, I’m a pessimist, but I do have hope for BA and their family.

ITA! As I have said before, I came in late into the Brad admiration thing. I remember going to a late-night showing of Legends of the Fall with my roommate and her friend- I thought he was nice-looking, but I marvelled at the rejuvenating effects he had on them. I think about them and wondered if they forgot about that night and turned on him. Anyway, I started loving BP during his first appearence on Oprah. He just came across as very sweet and down to earth. Little did I know my fascination would be short-lived, because of X. Mind you, his appearence was around the time he started dating her, so she didn’t taint anything. Then Fight Club came out, thus securing a permanent place in the old spank bank. Then, the Dark Ages, made even darker b/c everyone seemed to trumpet that union. Their separation announcement was like that moment in The Wiz when the water transformed Evillene’s minions into beautiful free people. Yes, that’s a bit of an overstatement, but it is true. The point is people are always looking for ways to bring the one with more than enough down; where were these people before and during his relationship with X? X is a cow, but not a sacred one.

Not for one minute did I think Brad would leave Maddox after entering his life as a father figure and then eventually as a father. He’s not one of those fickle guys with relationships that go on and off again. What I have observed is that he gives a relationship his full attention but once it’s done, IT IS DONE. There is no turning back for this guy. That’s his pattern. He doesn’t live in the past and doesn’t hold grudges forever.

Brad has always been a stand up guy who has never shied away from responsiblity and has always been a down to earth guy who wanted to be a dad more than anything else. He’s always been smart with his movie choices. He never fell for the pretty boy hype around him and always choose distinct movie roles that showed his talent. He’s always been smart with his career and has never been a fickle guy when it comes to relationships.

I understand why people say that he’s changed and how they thought he was all about looks. I think what has changed is that he finally found a person who shares the same goals and priorities as he does, so to many, Brad’s personality is more visible to those who thought he was just a pretty boy. Don’t get fooled by the hype. Brad never thought of himself as the big movie star and the pretty boy. He’s always been determined to go against the grain and show his mettle.

Pam & Denise: the united front?

Thanks to my girl M who tells me that Pam and Denise Richards were living it up at Glowbal in Vancouver last night, keeping up appearances after Denise hurt two elderly ladies with a laptop earlier this week.

Given the drama that has unfolded recently, it’s not surprising that a shitload of smut has been leaking from the set of their movie.

Here’s what I can tell you…exclusively, of course:

Rumour has it, three days before the laptop throwing incident, Pam had allegedly taken a pee test for pregnancy and it came out positive. Somehow, this was leaked to a few magazines and subsequently vehemently denied by Pam’s publicist, followed by intense speculation about how it slipped.

Sources from the set are now buzzing and one of the theories being tossed around is that allegedly Pam may have believed the leak to have come from Denise and could have been confronting her, explaining what was described as a “tiff” by Flynet Pictures, the agency that is releasing the photos taken just moments before Denise flew into a laptop-elderly-lady-injuring rage.

I’m telling you…rumour mongering is at a fever pitch surrounding this situation. Do you love it, or do you LOVE it?

It’s heartwarming to read Maddox being referred as “Brad’s oldest child” now, whereas a few months ago every tabloid and reputable papers out there referred to these kids as “Angelina’s/Brad’s adopted children”. First thing is first. Brad looks hot in this picture and Mad is forever a cutie. I love seeing father -son pictures between these two.

Another important point to mention, people keep mentioning how much Brad has changed……………….uh actually he hasn’t changed; his environment, his life, the people in his life have changed.

Brad has always been a stand up guy who has never shied away from responsiblity and has always been a down to earth guy who wanted to be a dad more than anything else. He’s always been smart with his movie choices. He never fell for the pretty boy hype around him and always choose distinct movie roles that showed his talent. He’s always been smart with his career and has never been a fickle guy when it comes to relationships.

I understand why people say that he’s changed and how they thought he was all about looks. I think what has changed is that he finally found a person who shares the same goals and priorities as he does, so to many, Brad’s personality is more visible to those who thought he was just a pretty boy. Don’t get fooled by the hype. Brad never thought of himself as the big movie star and the pretty boy. He’s always been determined to go against the grain and show his mettle.

When I found out Brad was with Angelina, it made perfect sense to me even though I never imagined that these two would be together. Not for one minute did I think Brad would leave Maddox after entering his life as a father figure and then eventually as a father. He’s not one of those fickle guys with relationships that go on and off again. What I have observed is that he gives a relationship his full attention but once it’s done, IT IS DONE. There is no turning back for this guy. That’s his pattern. He doesn’t live in the past and doesn’t hold grudges forever.

I could not have said it better, or agree more. I dont understand how anyone who has been a long time Brad fan would doubt about him being a standup guy! I was thrilled when Brad and Angie got together cause I knew he was unhappy with Jen. His wanting to adopt her children clinched the deal with me… I knew he must love her and I knew it was very serious. PUNE: Around 65 children at Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra (BSSK) family and child welfare and adoption centre had glamorous visitors on Friday — Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The couple, proponents of adoption themselves, visited Koregaon Park centre, where they spent about an hour with the children and donated loads of toys to the excited kids.

The duo has been in the city for over a month now, shooting for A Mighty Heart, a film based on slain American journalist Daniel Pearl. They have three children — Maddox and Zahara, who are adopted, and a biological child Shiloh Nouvel.

Roxana Kalyanvala, executive director at BSSK, said: “The couple were lovely and genuinely adore kids. They spent over an hour playing with our children and donated lots of toys. They didn’t show any inclination towards wanting to adopt, but they did have a great time. Both have a love for children and they spoke to us for quite a while about various issues in the world. They would have loved to stay on longer but had other commitments.”

BSSK cares for around 65 children from new-borns up to six years of age. They undertake over 80% domestic adoption and have found homes for close to 2,800 children. The centre has Children’s day celebration, a ‘Masti Mela’ which is open to the public from 4 to 7 pm on November 14 and 15.

Pitt and Jolie are expected to leave for Mumbai over the weekend, where they will complete the last leg of shooting for the film which stars Jolie as Marianne, the wife of Daniel Pearl.

Ciara, all you have to do is look at the date. This was posted in January at the beginning of this year. Now it’s November and a lot of time has passed by and things have changed. There were reports of Brad’s parents flying in for Maddox’s birthday and meeting Angelina’s mom. Lainey also wrote about how both Brad and Angelina’s moms got along well. Also, there were some sources that said that Brad’s parents flew to Malibu again for Labor Day celebrations and they even went to one of Maddox’s soccer games. Things have changed and all this talk of Brad’s mom not liking Angie is BS. You just need to read some of the more updated posts from Lainey’s to see the change. After the family came back to Malibu from Namibia, they spent a few months in the U.S. This is probably when Brad’s family got to know Angelina’s mom, the kids, and Angie herself much better and from Lainey’s accounts, Jane is happy for them, because let’s face it, what mom wouldn’t be happy to see her son be happy.

I didn’t watch the news, but in California, usually when houses are sold, they are fumigated because the majority of them have termite infestations. (Only the newly built are not, of course). Termite is a pretty common problem in California, and you see tented houses quite often.

I’m so relieved HD didn’t scream and do a repeat of 2004. If he did that, I know he would have probably done it as a joke but everyone spins everything to make into some kind political point.

I read the Rolling Stone interview and wished it was longer too. When I got to the end, I thought - that’s it??? But the interview itself was an enlightening read. Especially about Stephen’s past about his brothers and dad dying and him living alone with his mom while his siblings went to college. And I had no idea about him having a tumor at such an early age. God…he’s lived through a lot of stuff. Jon too. Here’s another thing to add the list of things Jon and Angie had common. They both did drugs at a very young age and both overcame their habits and changed for the better. The part about Stephen thinking of Jon as an older brother got to me. That was so sad since he lost his two older brothers and yet endearing. Overall, a great interview by Maureen, even though it was a bit on the short side. I didn’t think Colbert would actually open up like that. I know sometimes he stays in character for magazine interviews, but this one took me by surprise. I really liked it. =)

The part about people rooting Colbert on when they saw him in his conservative home state cracked me up. LOL. =D

My other favorite part of RS interview is when Jon says that Tracey never figured out the crossword puzzle so they never got married! lol They’re both so strong, him and Stephen. It’s not that I have anything against Jennifer Aniston, I just don’t think she’s a very good actress. Or even a moderately decent actress at that. I tend to believe that if she wasn’t involved with Brad Pitt when Friends ended, it’s quite possible she would’ve wound up in some crummy “Help, I’m in my thirties and life is so confusing” sitcom on either CBS or ABC. I can totally see it now: The Trials and Tribulations of Wendy Warner, starring Jennifer Aniston and Rob Lowe. Please, you know something like that was pitched to her. It’s a given.

Needless to say, Aniston rode her high-profile romance and divorce straight onto the big screen, and by breaking up with Vince Vaughn twice a week, it seems her name will remain in the gossip rags and on our minds for quite some time. In fact, Universal just picked up Counter Clockwise, a script written by Paul Bernbaum with the intentions of having Aniston produce and also star. Story centers around a real-life study conducted by Harvard psychologist Ellen Langer in which she “reversed the aging process of her subjects by making them believe they were younger.” Aniston, a Harvard psychologist? I don’t buy it. You?

BaBel >> great movie!. Loved the most when Brad is talking to his kid over the phone, I imagined he was talking to Maddox. Brad & Cate’s acting are excellent.

I’m watching Oprah’s BP interview from the late 90s, while he was promoting Meet Joe Black and the favorite things portion was very interesting. At the time, BP said that his happiest time was the present, specifically, when he was 34; his favorite vacation was Europe in the winter; clothes were the one thing he couldn’t live without; he stated that he wasn’t much of a watcher- he was talking about rockclimbing; and love was his favorite thing to get and to give.

With the exception of the clothes thing, he is essentially the same guy as he was back then. He didn’t go into too much detail about his personal life and when the audience got too gooey when he revealed something about himself, he put the brakes on it by putting his guard back up.

He stated that his favorite candy was Twizzlers; couldn’t you see him and AJ sharing some? His favorite cereal was Frosted Flakes; couldn’t you see him and Maddox having Frosted Flakes while the rest of the household was sleeping? I do enjoy watching that interview because revealed himself and he deflected the audience’s desire to place him on a pedestal. Too bad they didn’t take heed.

Good evening fellow Banzers its 6:50 pm where I am right now. I am really proud of myself, I was finally able to persuade my husband to watch Babel with me tomorrow. You see, he hates going to movie theaters coz he would rather wait for the dvd. He also hates dramatic movies, so what does a desperate woman do:

1) I called him up at least 12 times at work
2) Promised him that we”ll have dinner at his favorite restaurant
3) He cannot make up his mind so I added a third bonus,hot sex.
Anyway, just wanted to prove to you guys that never underestimate the power of Brad Pitt.

It is a great movie and I don’t think it was a downer at all, it was emotional, sad, happy, there were even some funny moments, it is a very touching and to me inspiring movie, and you will definitely leave the theater feeling hopeful. I am sorry that you bf is away again, hope everything is okay.

BABEL IS GREAT. I don’t want to give anything away. I want our community to see it before I start naming my favorite parts. The producer, Innaritu (sp) is really talented. I am going to rent some of his other movies as I really liked his stuff.

I must admit I am bias when it comes to Bradley, but seriously THIS MOVIE IS REALLY GOOD! I like movies that make you think, what is going to happen next, how does this scene tie into the next, how are the characters related, such raw human emotion at times – overall it was wonderfully made. The exchange / chemistry between Brad and Cate is remarkably touching. They make a great on screen couple – although no one can really compare to Mrs. Smith. In my book, I think Cate ranks as number 2. What do you think??

Other useless information: - I went to 5:30PM show and the theatre was full.

To those who have just seen Babel, wan’t it good? It was different. I kept asking myself in each of the stories, “what would I have done”? Too bad Gael wan’t in it that much but the woman who plays his aunt is very good. All the actors in this film were excellent.

There seems to be some kind of autographed Brad Pitt giveaway on pittwatch.com.
According to the blogger, a publicist from Babel gave her some autographed Babel soundtracks. Anyway check out her site for more info.

The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Long time reader of Aint It Cool this is the first time I have felt compelled to turn in a review of a sneak preview. I am going to keep this review as spoiler free as possible.

So last night I got to catch a special sneak preview of, “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.” This is a new western starring Brad Pitt and is directed by Andrew Dominik who also directed the wonderful, “Chopper.”

I went into this film with almost no knowledge of the Jesse James gang or the assassination of the legend. This film surprised me. The opening alone will grab you, with Roger Deakins amazing cinematography, Nick Caves entrancing score and a narration that is strongly reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick’s “Barry Lyndon.”

This is not your average western. This film is very dark, with Brad Pitt playing his darkest character since, “Kalifornia.” Brad Pitt doesn’t use a lot of words in his performance, it’s all looks and internal turmoil, he is truly mesmerizing in this performance, showing a more mature actor then we have seen before.

He is matched perfectly by Casey Affleck who is finally used to his full potential as Robert Ford. Casey Affleck plays Ford as a very vulnerable, fragile young man with a thirst for recognition. Hopefully this performance might break Casey out of his brother’s shadow. The rest of the cast is superb with a funny and odd performance by Sam Rockwell.

The cinematography is excellent. Roger Deakins turns in some of the best work of his career. He brings a dream like quality to the images that gives the film a fable like quality. It’s this quality that separates this film from other westerns. It has more in common with Sam Peckinpah’s underrated, “Pat Garret and Billy the Kid.” It has to do with living up to ones own myth and also how far a person will go to be famous.

But I see one serious problem with this film. A major studio made it. This isn’t a film for everyone. This isn’t, “Tombstone,” it’s not an action packed western. It’s a very emotional film. The action that does happen is quick and realistic much like a Sergio Leone film. This is a film for my father, a person who grew up on westerns and loves them. It has more in common with art house films and this might make it a tough sale for the studio, which will probably try to sell it as another, “Legends of the Fall.” I’m not saying that,“Legends,” is a bad film; it’s just that this is a much darker film.

Another problem is that the version I saw the other night was easily three hours in length. That can make any studio nervous and I’m afraid the studio will start cutting the film up in hopes of getting a bigger audience.

This film needs the three hours, much like Sergio Leone’s westerns (which were notoriously edited by the studios) this film is about anticipation and scope. I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut this film up but I beg the studio not to.

Basically I hope everyone gets to see this film in its current cut. This is the kind of film that will probably be passed over in theatres but will get a lot of recognition over time and will be seen as the truly great film it is.

Babel was an amazing film…I enjoyed the entire ensemble. My favorite (and most heartbreaking) story was the Mexican maid. She was wonderful and her situation just broke my heart. Obviously, I think Brad was good as well. I would be very surprised if he didn’t get a nomination for his role (at least).

Also, my theatre was nearly full as well…I found that a bit surprising due to the subject matter of the film, but that was nice to see as I’m sure it will inspire many discussions. Bottom line, we need to take more time to listen and understand what someone is trying to tell us.

aycaramba— That is great !!! My two sons said that they both watched “Departed” and loved it . Now mind you my sons constantly make fun of me because of my love for this family… Anyhoo, while they were talking about Departed and we were in the kitchen, I asked them if they knew who produced it…..They came up with all sorts of names and I finally said BP, they moaned, my oldest went “oh cr*p now you will never get over them”, and good old big K goes “mom what is your point”…. And as a dutiful mom, who doesn’t want to be too pushy ; I said” well have you heard of the movie Babel?” The response was, yeah but its not out yet. I told them that we were all going to see the openning tonight. They wanted to know what hubby thought after we watched it. Both of them will go see it after the OSU game tomorrow with their friends :lol:
