Jolie, Pitt leave Pune after film shoot

Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who were here since October 5 for the shooting of a part of the film A Mighty Heart, on Saturday checked out of the five-star hotel where they were putting up since their arrival.

Jolie, Pitt and their three children checked out from Le Meridien Hotel on Saturday morning after completion of the shooting in Pune, sources said.

However, the city police, airport authorities and the hotel management had no idea about where the star couple and their children had gone.

“We have no idea where they have gone after their check out,” a senior staff of Le Meridien said.

According to sources, after the shoot here, Jolie and Pitt were to leave for Mumbai to resume shooting there.

“They were to go to Mumbai. In fact, we have had a flight plan ready for them for today as a stand by. More than this, we have no idea,” a senior airport official said.

The visit by the Hollywood couple to the city created lot of media hype and also led to skirmishes between the photographers and the couple’s private security personnel.

A Mighty Heart is based on a book of the same name by Marianne, wife of slain American journalist Daniel Pearl.

Pearl was abducted and later killed by militants in Pakistan in 2002. The film is largely based on the life of the murdered journalist and is being co-produced by Pitt’s company.

Jolie plays the role of a pregnant Marianne in the film while Dan Futterman is doing the role of Pearl in the movie directed by Michael Winterbottom.

Parts of the film were shot in Pune due to their similarity with parts of Karachi, the city from where Pearl was abducted.

Due to the controversial subject of the film, the Pakistani Government had refused permission for shooting in that country.

Subsequently, the film unit hired a couple of bungalows in ‘Sindh Colony’ and the shooting begun on October 9.

During their stay, the couple visited an adoption centre and did some shopping in the city, besides touring Goa and Rajasthan.

Maniston, I didn’t realize you are from Boston. Man I love Boston, first hubby was Boston his parents lived in Bedford, so every holiday were there…. I loved going to Harvard square. Later on I only came for tech conference and your endless construction drove me nuts. Is that project almost over, shoot it has been going on for eons :lol:

First thing is first. Brad looks hot in this picture and Mad is forever a cutie. I love seeing father -son pictures between these two.

Another important point to mention, people keep mentioning how much Brad has changed……………….uh actually he hasn’t changed; his environment, his life, the people in his life have changed.

Brad has always been a stand up guy who has never shied away from responsiblity and has always been a down to earth guy who wanted to be a dad more than anything else. He’s always been smart with his movie choices. He never fell for the pretty boy hype around him and always choose distinct movie roles that showed his talent. He’s always been smart with his career and has never been a fickle guy when it comes to relationships.

I understand why people say that he’s changed and how they thought he was all about looks. I think what has changed is that he finally found a person who shares the same goals and priorities as he does, so to many, Brad’s personality is more visible to those who thought he was just a pretty boy. Don’t get fooled by the hype. Brad never thought of himself as the big movie star and the pretty boy. He’s always been determined to go against the grain and show his mettle.

When I found out Brad was with Angelina, it made perfect sense to me even though I never imagined that these two would be together. Not for one minute did I think Brad would leave Maddox after entering his life as a father figure and then eventually as a father. He’s not one of those fickle guys with relationships that go on and off again. What I have observed is that he gives a relationship his full attention but once it’s done, IT IS DONE. There is no turning back for this guy. That’s his pattern. He doesn’t live in the past and doesn’t hold grudges forever.

It has been a very busy fall and I’m so out of keeping in touch, just dropping by to see all is well with BAMZS except that Brad’s smoking. But as in France, I am sure in India it’s very hard NOT to smoke if you are a smoker, as everyone probably smokes… Why dont’ they move to NYC? :) It’s smoke free in many places LOL Actually last year there was a picture of Angie and Mad taken just a few blocks away from where I live on upper westside! Why wasn’t I there LOL

I don’t want to spoil Babel for the people that haven’t seen it yet, but I am going to say that it is the best movie I have seen in a long time and that it is the best I have seen Brad in a any movie. He was fantastic, he played the role of Richard to perfection in my opinion; Cate was great, the whole cast of Babel was great, they did an amazing job, I love all the different stories, but if I had to pick one that really stand out to me was the Mexican story, and the scenes between Brad and Cate was so touching, like I said everyone in Babel did a great job, Alejandro did an incredible job of directing this movie. I cried throughout the whole movie. Babel is touching, emotional, sad, and at time funny, Babel changes the way you look at the world, it teaches you how important communication really is, it touches something deep in your soul.

Brad’s performance in Babel was fantastic and he should be nominated for an OSCAR, actually he should be nominated for GG and SAG as well, he was that fantastic IMO,and if he is not nominated I will go postal on somebody, jk, but I will be very disappointed. I wish there was a special award that can be given to the whole cast of Babel, because they all deserve some kind of award for the great job that they did in Babel. Babel is a masterpiece, a very powerful movie, that can teach us a whole lot about the world we live in.
