OlderBrad & Angie Tour Gateway of India
It was a Pitt family affair earlier this morning, as they took a tour around the seafront promenade at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. Angelina Jolie carried daughter Zahara, almost 2, while Brad Pitt carried son Maddox, 5, on his shoulders. Brad even took the time to chat up tourists along the way!
Security officer Mickey Brett left his pink shirt at home, but black works too!
UPDATE 1 :: Just added one more photo of Brad and Angelina attempting a covert arrival into Mumbai via a chopper. They were immediately ushered into the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, where the couple had their dinner date last night.
UPDATE 2 :: Hahaha. Looks like Maddox is falling asleep (or already did!) on Brad’s shoulders. Poor little guy must be beat!

Gosh, you guys are just working Overtime to keep us entertained. Thanks for all the lovely pictures. I am just so glad that they are better able to move around in Mumbai so they can enjoy the beauty of the city. We love this family! we don’t care if we’re tired or too sleepy. I went to bed I think 2:30 am but i got my normal 5 hrs sleep. Once I get out the bed, immediately i turn on the computer and log in to this site.. my normal routine … nice hobby hah! :lol:

looking at these photos, I’d just like to say:
1) I don’t think Angie is pregnant.
2) I think Zahara hair looks fine.

7) Yep, I think it was a good decision to carry Zahara and Maddox.
When I used to visit Mumbai for work, I stayed at the Taj Mahal Hotel - where Brad, Angelina etc are staying in now. The company I worked for had connections with the Tata Group which owns the hotel.
So, for those of you who are interested, the hotel is separated from the sea by a road/pedestrian street (unless they reclaimed the land since). India Gate is the Arc de Triomphe looking monument behind the Jolie Pitts in picture 8. They were walking down the side of the Taj Hotel. If they kept walking, they would soon reach the Bombay/Mumbai yacht club, a preserve of the seriously wealthy in Mumbai and just beyond that club, a slum. The contrast of wealth and privilege represented by the Taj Mahal Hotel and the yacht club and desparate poverty of a slum will no doubt hit them.
Near India Gate is a pier. There are boat men who could take you on a boat ride perhaps to one of the Islands (I forget the name) with a temple. The Jolie Pitts would be assailed by noise and heat and colour. What stood out most for me though was the smells. Smells of the salty sea mingled with raw sewage, smells of food and spices, smells of bodies.
The Taj Mahal Hotel itself is a beautiful old building, converted into a hotel. its been the place to be seen in Mumbai for many years.

Does anyone know how much Babel has made so far? Some posters in other sites are saying that it hasn’t made any money at all, and that Brad fans did not support the movie and that the X’s Friends with Money, a “true” indie, made more money than Babel.
This is my second post but JJ’s been my favorite website for quite sometime now. Iam fascinated with this couple and their beautiful family. Looovve BP. A perfect and beautiful man. Angie rocks too!! Brad Pitt’s Oscar-touted Babel from Paramount Vintage hung in Friday for #7 by expanding its theater count to 1,251: it took in $1.7 mil for what should be a $5 mil weekend and a new cume of $7.3 mil.
Babel has extended it’s limited run and is doing quite well. It is an art house movie with sub-titiles (technically a foreign film). It is doing good business at the Box office and will get Oscar Nominations. So hater take that and weep at the pictures of a happy family.

I can’t believe that this TOO BAD person is actually comparing Babel to Borat? Sheesh, Borat is a comedy that poked fun at everybody and you know how teen-agers (who go to the movies a lot) would love that. My 17-year-old and his friends went yesterday to see it. Babel is not and was not meant to be that way - it’s an indie film where Cate and Brad took pay cuts to do just because they loved the script and the director. And as for Brad going all the way to LA for the premiere, that wasn’t really for money, that was just to support the movie. Heck, if all he wanted to do was make movies that would be blockbusters, then all he would be doing would be Ocean’s 14, 15, ad infinitum, or M&MS part 2, 3 etc. But Brad has always been known to be adventurous with his movie choices (Fight Club, Seven, Seven Years in Tibet) and blockbusters are not his primary goal.
People, Babel is a very good movie. Last night I posted and was scolded by someone who said I had revealed too much. I disagree. I revealed next to nothing, and much, much less than any of the reviews. That said, anyone who thought Babel was going to be #1 at the box office this weekend was dreaming. This is not a commerical flim. Surely, no one thought it was going to beat out Borat, or Stranger Than Fiction. This is a thought provoking film, no potty humor, no silly sex jokes. The box office has nothing to do with Brad leaving his X. What it has to do with is Americans unwillingness to challenge themselves mental. To see something that will make them think, and wonder. So please don’t gloat. I don’t think anyone making this film thought it was going to beat out Boratl. Had it done that everyone around the world would have been in shock. Challenge yourself. See something intelligent for a change.

So, if I were to take your argument to its logical conclusion - YOU WILL SEE THE REALITY OF HOW MUCH AMERICA LOVES FRAUDS.

As for the box office: this is an absolutely artistic, indie movie, and everybody knows this, except for the Xfans. This is a movie, where people in the theater cry in the end. We all know that nowadays many Americans don’t really like to think, and don’t like movies where they are forced to read (Babel has subtitles). It’s sad, but this is the case. Brad is in the movie for 20 minutes and Babel was not overhyped like any of the X’s movies.
Aniston’s movies really tanked because she was after box office, those were mainstream movies (except for FWM) and she appeared on every talk show and entertainment show, she promoted and promoted and promoted, but her movies were bombs, because those were bad, the critics hated them, the audience hated them and the critics always pointed out that the X was a bad actress. Public sympathy didn’t turn her into a good actress and a box office success, we all remember, don’t we?
Babel is a winner movie in Cannes, the critics love it, there is Oscar talk not only for Brad, but for the Mexian and the Japanese actress. And those people who are not afraid of emotions and thinking, love it too.
Oh, and Friends with money earned only 13 million in the US, and 4 million outside the US. So shut up you morons. Babel did earn a total of 7 million without this weekend, in limited release.
One thing I am really glad about is that JA is not in Borat. I won’t be surprised if she is going to ask to be in his next movie though.
Well Babel is still doing OK, for a movie which TooBad said nobody in the US would go see. As long as it does better than 1:25 in revenues, compared to “Friends with money”, BP is still OK.
For an indie film, Babel is doing well considering that it is showing in only 1,200 theaters, its average per theater is quite good. Russel Crowe’s movie is the one that is doing badly! The thing is, there is just too may competition this week, 3 strong movies from last week and 3-4 good movies opening this week, including that of will ferrel and Russel.
Babel will be showing for a long time, just like Brokeback Mountain, One million dollar Baby, and will do well again once it wins an award.
Of course, Borat is doing very well, but its a sign of times, people wants to laugh and forget their problems, so most people went to see Borat.

Comparing Babel with Borat is like compare a David Lynch movie with Jackass. Plus there wasn’t a huge marketing campaing with Babel. This kind of “Oscar buzz small movies” usually pick up at the box office after oscar nominations. Finally since when Brad is Will Smith? Brad has never been know to have a huge sucess record with the box office. Besides MAMS, usually Brad movies don’t do that well in the box office, even Troy that had a HUGE marketing campaing was a “flop” in the us market according to a group of people, so your theory of “they don’t like Brad because is a cheater” doesn’t make sense.
Holding the kids or putting them on their shoulders is the best idea. Can you imagine allowing those kids to walk around in that type of crowd? Holding their hands isn’t enough. I would want my babies as close to me as possible. There is a lot of evil in this world and you can never be too careful.
The children look really cute. You know what, these kids seem like a breeze to be with. They just don’t appear to be bratty, throwing temper tantrums. They’re like no trouble at all to Brad and Angelina. Good parenting. Z’s little legs are fattening up a little. How cute!
Brad looks happier now than ever. Can anyone deny that? He really does. I think that he’s happier being back in the states too. Some mags have reported this, and just by his demeanor in photos, it seems true. I hope they decide to stay in America permanently.

Enough of the hater. All that gushing got basketcase riled up. Babel is an excellent film, enough said. I like how Zahara’s hair look. AJ is doing a good job. I think of how Zahara went from this sickly, near death baby to this healthy, robust child. People may criticize their adopting these beautiful children but there is no doubt that they are well taken care of and love. BP was meant to be a Father. I hope that they are able to adopt and have many more.

People, it’s a beautiful Sunday, some of us are going to see Babel today so it’s still part of Babel Weekend for Brad. We have a bunch of beautiful photos of the family from Jared and Audrey.

And just like Fight Club was not number one, and it was overlooked by the Americans when they released it. It was a flop, really. Now Fight Club is a classic. This just shows that Brad has good instinct, and he is a good actor. And unfortunately the majority of American audience is dumb. Sorry if i offended anyone. Brad’s movies are always doing much more internationally, even the movies made during the “golden age”. I don’t really know the explanation, but it’s true, that he is a real international star.

Brad’s movies generally make more money abroad. It has not opened at all in most places outside of the country. He’s an international star. It is to soon to assess what’s coming in on this movie. Total money worldwide is going to be fantastic. Stay tuned.
I would like somebody to answer this question for me. Wasn’t there pictures posted a few months ago trying to evoke pity for Angelina who supposedly looked like she was crying in her car because her mother is dying of cancer? So why is she in India to make a movie if her mother is dying or is she in remission for the 20th time again? She always conviently is dying when the press gets bad and it’s pity time for Angelina or miraculously goes into remission when Angelina has to go off somwhere. I would think my dying mother was more important that a movie. I would want to spend every last minute with my dying mother that I could.
And Brad is definately no Will Smith. Will Smith is a devoted MARRIED family man. He cared enough about his wife to actually marry her and then have children and did not get her pregnant while married to another woman. Will Smith outranks Brad in every area and I am sure especially in the crotch area.
Lylian, I forgot to say I am glad you mentioned that the ice cream is OK. I was told not to have any ice, ice cream, or any kind of liquid not bottled in any third world country. That’s why when I went to Egypt a few years ago, I wanted so badly to drink their sugarcane expressed juice but I didn’t dare until the last day of my visit. I was fine afterwards, that made me so pissed I didn’t drink it the whole time I was there.

OMG!! FWM made only 17 mill dollars playing in more than 1000 theaters for 133 weeks and Babel is still having a limited release and it has made 7 millions only in 15 days??And it’s in number 7 at the box office. It would have been to much craziness if Shiloh was with them, the paps would have gone crazy and I think that she is to young still, when she gets a little older I am sure she will be with them whenever they go out with M&Z, but for right now, I think they did right thing, by leaving her back at the hotel
It seems that since Brads been back, the roles have switch. Maddox has grown into a “big boy” and needs more daddy time whereas Zahara needs some mommy time after being a daddy’s girl for so long. It’s wonderful this couple adapts so instinctly and effortlessly. I love them
Is there something wrong with Zahara’s upper lip? I have noticed this in several pics over time…. Really not being hateful, I love all four of them, just concerned.

Some people come late into the game. For many years, people have complained about the lack of box office winners being represented at the Oscars. Can it be that the movies that brought in big numbers typically suck? There is a definite divide between the crowd pleasers and the critically acclaimed pics, which would explain why comedies are consistently shut out from the Oscars. I definitely think that HW can produce quality, Oscar-caliber works that’ll appeal to the masses, but they have lost their grip on what people want to see.
I liked Babel; I liked Borat, too, and Sacha Baron Cohen should get mad props for committing to that role. Will he get recognized? Probably, but by everyone except the Oscars. Will BP get recognized? Again, probably. But any recognition he may get will be tainted by hidden agendas because HW as a town, are a bunch of *******, who cowtow to a faceless rabble who are fickle toward anything that isn’t familiar to them. Oscar is a prestige thing– members openly admit that they don’t take the process seriously-voting based on hearsay instead of actually seeing the movies. But I truly believe that feedback from the public, along with critics, can make things happen. Think about Frances McDormand from Fargo– it was a small independent film that came out in late winter/early spring. Critics and the public hammered that film into the voters’ head and the following year, Oscar went to McDormand. Sure, people like Joan Rivers scoffed at this because she saw McDormand’s place at the proceedings as an A-Lister who don A-List designers and jewels was shut out.
Motivation is a curious thing. We will see A-Listers showcasing their wears this time of year, like Cameron Diaz did last year for In Her Shoes, and as Robin Williams have been doing for the last few years. People know the conventions and we will be hammered to death by them. Personally, I’d love to see BP get it for this performance. If not, oh well, because BP has turned a corner in his career.

What a great way to start my Sunday, pictures of the family enjoying a day out.
Ignore the haters. I saw Babel the first weekend it opened in Los Angeles and it was a wonderful, thought provoking movie. It left me speechless.
I think if Brad cared about the box office results, he would have done countless interviews promoting the movie.
With that said, the people who will likely see Babel, will be a more mature intelligent crowd, unlike the fans who went out to see TBU. I was force to see TBU on a flight from Jamaica and it was so not funny. That movie totally sucked.

Re Babel’s box office - I don’t expect it to do big business in the US. Americans don’t usually support sub-titled, “art” movies. I DO expect it to do well overseas. I think the subject matter is one that is not easy, it makes people think. If you look at the top box office in US, most, if not all the movies “entertain” but do not require brain power. Take from that what you will. Borat? Sorry, I wouldn’t touch it. I hate movies OR shows in general that make people look stupid. Anyway, Oscar isn’t based on box office. To even think for a minute that Babel isn’t doing “well” because of Brad is just stupid. If anything, HE’s bringing people in.

First, this is certainly not the sort of box office fare. Comeon now! Typically you have family movies and comedies doing very well, but not a subtitled, foreign, art movie. Also, i’m not too sure the oscar peeps would eat it up either because it might be seen as being very similar to crash and they already awarded crash last year. BUT that doesn’t take away from the fact that the movie was fantastic. Also, Brad is probably the reason why it’s doing as well as it has been.

OC, no they are not near the Taj Mahal. They are staying at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai, which is on the West Coast of India, while the Taj Mahal is in Agra, in the northern part of India. Boy, I sound so knowledgeable about India, but I actually just learnt a few things about the country since B&A arrived there. :oops:
The fact that the American people would rather pay to watch Scary Movie 4 doesn’t mean that it’s a good movie. I’m sure Brad didn’t do the movie for the Box Office.

I was going through my old VHS tapes and came across the Japanese version of Shall We Dance? and I just realize that the actor who played Mr. Sugiyama was the father of the deaf-mute girl in Babel. His name is Koji Yakusho and if some of you haven’t seen his version of Shall We Dance?, I highly recommend it. It’s a love story, of sorts, mainly it’s about reconnection- with others and with oneself. I suspect that it has a depth that’s lacking in the J.Lo/Gere let’s get our dance on version.
Both kids are sleepy. They must have missed their nap time. I wonder how long they walked around?

That’s just how it is. We’ve seen it happen for the past 2 years. And if Brad is nominated for an Oscar, expect the asshats to become so enraged that their pimpled filled faces will explode.
Regarding Babel, I too thought it would do better at the box office UNTIL I learned the movie is HEAVILY SUBTITLED. I love America but for the most part we don’t race out to see movies with subtitles unless said movie has a whole lot of butt-kicking action in it.
Babel is arthouse fare and will do better in the large cities than in small towns. It will do better in the blue states than it will in the red states. Paramount Vantage is hoping for Oscar recognition and I think they will get it.

TOO BAD, Will & Jada have an open marriage. The only way they will divorce is if one is caught PUBLICLY with someone else there by making it almost mandatory that one files for divorce. It’s not because they really care but to save face with the public. Another thing, they have been moreso than any other couple out in the spotlight on red carpet events with their children. Will even has his son now in movies and he’s only 8 or 9. They are pushing for their children to be in the entertainment business like any other family business. Zahara is going to be really tall. She’s not even 2 years old yet. Maddox looks so content with Brad. I’m glad they seem to be enjoying Mumbai. That’s just how it is. We’ve seen it happen for the past 2 years. And if Brad is nominated for an Oscar, expect the asshats to become so enraged that their pimpled filled faces will explode.
Regarding Babel, I too thought it would do better at the box office UNTIL I learned the movie is HEAVILY SUBTITLED. I love America but for the most part we don’t race out to see movies with subtitles unless said movie has a whole lot of butt-kicking action in it.
Babel is arthouse fare and will do better in the large cities than in small towns. It will do better in the blue states than it will in the red states. Paramount Vantage is hoping for Oscar recognition and I think they will get it.

Thank you JJ & Audrey for the fabulous photos today!! First thing I did today was to see if there were any new photos of my favorite family and voila!! there they were! You guys are the best.
B&A are not perfect because they are human but they are sooo perfect for each other. I love what they represent…beauty inside and out…love of family…kick ass movies…making a difference for others EVERYWHERE they go…their fame is a small price to pay for the great tool it gives them to spotlight the ills of the world that wouldn’t get much attention…it is so beautiful it gives me chills.
Angie was already bringing the spotlight to refugees, adoption, etc. but with Brad the spotlight has been magnified one hundred fold because of the power of 2 insanely popular people. I love it. This is the best thing that has happened in the world that celebrities bring attention to causes they love and others follow suit.
I pray for the best for Mr. & Mrs. Hotness, that they will continue to make movies, make a difference, and keep growing their family….I am waiting on pins and needles to hear the confirmations of Mrs. Hotness’ pregnancy….it just seems like the signs are there..but will one thing is for sure…time will tell!!

To All bamzs fans, dont expect BABEL to be assuccesful as other movies. This movie is an ARTISTIC type of movie and will only attract certain people. In other words it is not made with the intent to be a blocbuster. Those movies are made to be on a much smaller scale such as Running with Scissors, the Departed, Crash although I am convinced it will make its money and then some. This movie is only well known and received all this press attention because of BRAD PITT,that is why these types of movies get nominated for OSCARS. So lets just prepare for the Ocars because Brad Pitt will be nominated for best supporting actor.

When I went to see Babel, people at the theatres loved it and this is a place with one theatre in the downtown core. The line up was humongous to go see it and it was packed and they were clapping and cheering at the end. That to me is the measure of how well people love it. It’s also the sort of movie one can really be proud of. I think for anyone, as long as one can say I am proud I was a part of that, that is enough by itself; no matter how well it does at the theatres. Also, it’s the sort of movie you can enjoy just on the face of it, but it’s also something one can explore and find deeper meaning to. There is value in that. I hope at the very least Brad gets recognized at the Oscars, and I hope Angie is there on the red carpet with him. That would be absolutely sublime.

A friend who was watching it with me actually really likes aniston and she hated it as well. it was a horrible portrayal of women and made women all to be pathetic losers. the ending was an absolute disaster. a woman who lets a men and people generally run all over her has a “happy ending” because the poor loser she thought was pathetic, but whom she went out with because she herself thought she was too pathetic to be with anyone else just happens to be filthy rich..so yeay for the pathetic woman. stupid movie.

Yes, Koji Yakusho (in Babel) was in the original Japanese version of “Shall we Dance?” which was a big hit. Geer looks as if he can already dance before the movie starts, but Yakusho looked at first as if he had two left legs, ending up dancing like a pro at the end which made a huge difference I think. I don’t know much about JLo but she tends to take up the screen like all those singer-trying-acting actresses, not truly interacting with other actors…
The only thing worse was when I had to watch “Just my Luck” with Lohan. Now that was literally painful to watch.
So many movies on that list I have NO desire to see. I sometimes feel we are a nation of idiots. Some of the above posters lend me to that view too. Been around the net a bit today, and everyone seems to be on a “where’s Shiloh” kick again. SHEESH!

it’s a credit to everyone involved in this movie that it’s the first movie on this list that isn’t a comedy or horror movie, subtitles and all, specially when the movie was expected to be an art house movie.
Russell Crowe seems to be in a slump. I remember when Gladiator came out. That was a good movie. However, lately he cannot buy a hit. The Goodyear was in twice the number of theaters as Babel. However, Babel did better. I guess throwing a telephone at a front desk employee is not a good career move. Just kidding, All the Russell Crowe fans.

Now forgive me as I have not seen the movie but I did watch his stupid HBO show and it was unbelievably stupid.
Oh, well. Regardless of what others say, BABEL was great. I am proud of Brad and the cast and Alejandro-Gonzalez-Inarritu. I am actually happy that it made the top 10 – I wasn’t expecting much support not because of the gossip but because of the content matter.

Lula29, you have said it best on the other thread. I love that they do things as a couple and things as a family. There is balance between Mom/Dad and husband/wife (lovers). Also, it seems to me they have so much in common and like to generally spend time with each other. After being with each other all day (on the set, with the kids) they still want to hang out and go to dinner. Very normal, very sweet. I really hope and believe that this one will work.

According to IMDB, Babel opened in the following foreign markets last Friday (Nov. 10): Mexico, Turkey, Poland, Latvia.
It is currently playing in Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands and Greece.
I am excited to know how it fared in Mexico, which is Inarritu’s homeland.
Babel is No 5 not no 6 , Saw 3 is no 6 according to new update at Bofo mojo. Not bad, considering it has less than half the number of theaters when compared to the other movies.
I think the movie will be up for a long haul, and most of those people who have seen the funny and less serious movies will turn their attention to Babel the coming weeks. Based on the results of 3 foreign markets, its also doing well.

Good year opened this weekend too, in more than 2000 theatres and could gain only 3,7 million. With Russell Crowe as the hero and Ridley Scott as the director.

Just wanted to say that I am happy at the progress Babel has made and I’m more than happy that Brad is most certainly going to rake in award nominations for his performance and hopefully winning. The fact that Brad and Angie are still together will ALWAYS bring the haters out and they will always say negative things about them. They think that since Babel wasn’t #1 at the box office that now no one will hire Brad and Angie for films. They will be filled with so much bitterness when they see them getting more work each time. Brad is busy enjoying himself with his family and the more the haters see this, the angrier they’ll become. They are so busy filling themselves with hate while BA are enjoying their time together.
Damn I was too busy looking at the children, but boy does Brad look gorgeous. I could eat him up, one lick at a time.

The worst movie was the Break Up,
—-OMG…my damn friend who adores aniston keeps making me watch Jen movies. She hated this one too. It was literally watching two people fight throughout the movie. I can’t even stand it when I watch two people I know do it, let alone two strangers. You would think, at least make it funny or interesting like War of the Roses, but WOFR it ain’t. This was the kicker for me. She goes all out and does all of these tremendously stupid things for him and then buys him tickets. He didn’t show up, she loves him and so she gets upset. Then BAM the next day when he shows her he still loves her, it’s her turn to say….oh too bad so sad, I think I have moved on. WTF?! Just the night before she was weeping over him and now nothing? Also, another really awkward part was when she actually stoops so low as to walk around naked to try to entice him (what self-respecting woman would do that?) and yet he still doesn’t bite. Very unnecessary bit of nudity and very awkwardly done.

These wonderful candid pictures of Brad and Angie with their children Mad and Z taking the historical sights of Mumbia further attest the mighty reason why Brad had to fly back from LA to be with his beautiful family ASAP. Some people will always put them down just because they can’t accept the truth that Brad and Angie are having the greatest time in their life together as equal partners in love and parenting. Both have their own past to conquer and through all the media backlash, they are making it work. There are no guarantees in life but I strongly believe that Brad and Angie will do their best to make it last.
As for the box-office returns of Babel, in time the fruits of Alejandro’s masterpiece will yield box-office and Oscar gold.

I think they really geniunely like each other which is something I noticed in the MAMS outtakes. For that reason I think they’ll be just fine. It’s very inspiring to see.
Why all the hate. Brad Pitt isn’t the only one in Babel, so the film isn’t going to pass or fail solely on his merit. This is Iñarritu’s vision, why not go see the film and base your judgment on your opinion of that vision and not wish for it to fail because you hate cheaters.
The arthouse film asessment is correct though I think. The movie has subtitles, a lot of people will shy away for that reason, that and the subject matter is really heady. But I still think the movie is going to do very well and hope Pitt gets an Oscar nod. It’s long deserved.
Borat, I’m going to see that too. Isn’t really a criticism of American values thinly veiled as a comedy? I haven’t seen it yet, but that’s what I get from the previews.

With no shooting scheduled for Sunday, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie decided to take a post-lunch stroll with the kids at the Gateway of India, bang opposite their hotel, the Taj Palace and Towers.
While Angelina had Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt in her arms, Brad hoisted Maddox on his shoulders as they took in the sights. On an impulse, Angelina decided to buy some icecream but the street-side ware didn’t pass muster with Brad (seen inspecting the cone with Zahara) and was promptly handed back after the first lick — along with a crisp Rs 500 note. “Keep the change,” smiled Angelina to the stunned vendor as the family tripped back to the hotel. MUMBAI: Mumbaikar’s may be used to rubbing shoulders with actors, but when Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt stepped out of their hotel room to enjoy the afternoon sun at the Gateway of India on Sunday with their adopted children Zahara and Maddox, they were followed by a crowd that couldn’t stop staring at them.
Jolie and Pitt, who landed in Mumbai on Saturday, are putting up at Hotel Taj, which turned into a fortress with both cops and hotel staff guarding the place. The couple stepped out of their hotel at around 2.15 pm and spent around 20 minutes walking on the footpath along the Gateway of India.
What caught the fancy of the onlookers was Pitt carrying Maddox on his shoulders while Zahara rested comfortably in Angelina’s arms. She too, did manage to perch on to Jolie’s shoulder for a while. Both mother and daughter wore colour coordinated black outfits.
They stopped to check out postcards being pedalled by a street urchin, who explained the photographs to them in broken English. They, however, didn’t buy any as the crowds simply kept swelling.

I’ve never been to India, although it is on my list to visit, but I have travelled some outside of the US. One of my favorite memories is my visit to Thailand. I loved to walk alongside the street vendors and look at the utterly gorgeous and delicious looking food. However, I never dared to eat any of it. Call me chicken **** but I was afraid that my timid and cowardly American stomach would get sick. I remember one of the men on my tour was a bit braver than I. Clive was from Great Britain and he ate from one of the street vendors. Let me tell you I have never seen a human being turn green until I saw Clive. He looked like **** warmed over. Now you should understand that this did not happen immediately after eating whatever he ate from the vendor, but occurred a few hours later. We didn’t see the man for 2 days and when he finally emerged he looked only slightly better. Now there was another man on our tour from Australia. The guy didn’t get any of the recommended vaccinations before going to Thailand and he ate whatever he wanted and didn’t get sick at all. Its all the luck of the draw, I guess.
In Mumbai for the last leg of its shooting in India, the crew and its celebrity cast of A Mighty Heart — including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie — are absorbing the sights and sounds of the city.
And, apart from the Enfield bike that Brad Pitt is believed to have purchased from a dealer in Pune, he and partner Angelina Jolie are sure to take back pleasant memories from Mumbai too.
Besides shopping for footwear and children’s products, Brangelina, as they are popularly called, attended a cast and crew party at Colaba’s Indigo on Saturday night.
Sources in their crew, who did not wish to be named as they are not authorised to speak to the media, said the couple was thoroughly enjoying their stay at the hotel, especially the sea view from their suite.
They are also excited about staying at the Taj Mahal Hotel’s Rajput suite, which was once inhabited by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
They added that stories about Brangelina’s plans to adopt an Indian baby are “totally baseless” as are reports of “Y-category security due to threats from Al-Qaeda.”
Before returning to the US this weekend, Jolie will wrap up shooting for the film, while Pitt is expected to make a trip to Rajasthan for shooting an ad film.
The film, A Mighty Heart, is based on the book by Marianne Pearl documenting the life of her husband, slain journalist Daniel Pearl. Among the shooting locations listed are The Gateway of India, McDonalds, Colaba, the Taj Mahal Hotel, Elphinstone College and other South Mumbai locations.
When asked to confirm the same, Indian line producer Aarti Surendranath said, “We are hoping to shoot Mumbai as it is, with its everyday energy. To portray that we need to be careful not to reveal our shooting locations.”
The production’s offices are set up close in the Palkhi restaurant building, owned by Kishan Mulchandani.
The film, that is co-produced by Pitt’s company Plan B, will be directed by Michael Winterbottom and also stars Daniel Futterman, Archie Punjabi and Irrfan Khan.

It’s too bad that what Too Bad doesn’t understand is that movies like Borat - a comedy that appeals to a large number of people - are made with the hopes that they’ll do huge numbers at the box office. That success in turn allows th e studios to make SERIOUS MOVIES ABOUT SERIOUS SUBJECT, such as Babel. None of the movies nominated for Best Picture last year cracked the $100MIL mark. If you look back at the history of the Best Picture nominees - they’re usually NOT mass-market movies. Occasionally you’ll get a film like “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” that is a huge success at the box office despite being a foreign film with subtitles. But that happens once every 10 or 15 years! Meanwhile, the Borats get made in plentitude with the hopes that the commonality of base humor will appeal to a huge number of people and make a ton of money. Obviously Too Bad doesn’t understand the way movie-making works. It’s equally obvsious that Too Bad isn’t even TRYING to understand that. Actually, it’s pretty obvious that Too Bad is a stupid Faniston who had nothing to do this morning and decided to come on and torture BAMZS fans with idiot posts.

Gossippup, I am still on the pregnancy bandwagon with you. My first reaction to seeing AJ carrying Z, in that manner was that she was hiding another bump with Z. It’s what she did with Shiloh too. First of all, all ya’ll know damn well Z had a fit because she wanted Daddy to carry her, so my guess is that she’s riding Angie’s hip for a reason. Also, Angie has on that sheared pregnancy shirt, the one that gets all blousy at the bottom. Angie seems to have a high bump when she starts out enabling her to wear blousy sweaters or tee’s and hide it quite nicely — remember the Japan press conference? She had on skinny slacks and a black sweater that she had just bloused over a bit — and the public at large really didn’t suspect anything.
Btw, I love Z’s expressions, she gives such attitude…and her face reminds me of Angie’s so much — if you look at their profiles it’s because they have a wider, flatter face, tiny noses and then BOOYAH!! with the lips! LOL.
Babel did amazing well - the real proof is in the per theater average, where Babel kicked ass all over the place. Arthouse, subtitled flicks typically don’t do business even approaching this, prior to awards season. It’s usually only when a small indie film has picked up awards, as that article was saying, that the $ come pouring in…yet Bable is raking it in before. Those are amazing signs.
…and lastly, the AJ arms things — hate to break it to the haters, but those are the same arms she’s had all along, the same arms she had when people worldwide describe her as the most beautiful and desirable woman in the world, the same arms nabbed the sexiest woman in the world title, and most beautiful woman (and family) award in people, the same arms that have written of her UN travels, doled out medicine to the sick, shook hands with Kings & Queens and secretaries of state, and senators and congressmen, they’re the same arms that have embraced an Oscar, and 3 Golden Globes, the same arms that Jane Smith used to crack a dude’s neck in MAMS and conversely wrap around Brad two times in the Bogata dance scene - LOL, the same arms that cradle her babies, and embrace Brad Pitt every night……

TOO BAD, Will & Jada have an open marriage. The only way they will divorce is if one is caught PUBLICLY with someone else there by making it almost mandatory that one files for divorce. It’s not because they really care but to save face with the public. Another thing, they have been moreso than any other couple out in the spotlight on red carpet events with their children. Will even has his son now in movies and he’s only 8 or 9. They are pushing for their children to be in the entertainment business like any other family business. I don’t see anyone saying they are pimping their kids for publicity.

My recommendation is if you notice a trend in a nasty poster, don’t read it, don’t respond…stop yourself because once you are drawn in by them or even think twice about their comments…they’ve won and controlled you. You are the only one who can control your own responses and the best response is no response…eventually they will lose interest because like children, they will get bored and go elsewhere for their fun. It is too early to predict “Babel” yet, in spite of its good take. I think that it will continue doing well-without the “first weekend fanfare”.
All that matters is a) it’s quality movie and b) it makes its money-whether the first weekend or the 10nth is irrelevant.

Loonies - I saw Elton’s quote earlier. I have to say I agree with a lot of what he says. Quite a bit of what’s going on in the world goes back to religious differences. It’s becoming more and more clear that diplomatic leaders aren’t able to make a dent in a lot of things because they don’t understand the underlying religious factors. I do think religious leaders need to make more of an effort to get together and talk about what can be done to moderate the actions of their believers.
Having said that…who are those leaders going to be? Let he amongst you without sin cast the first stone. It’s turning out that a LOT of the world’s religious leaders are hypocrite - as can be borne out by the recent Haggard fiasco and all the Catholic priests who are pedophiles. Plus there’s a pope who’s already pissed off quite a bit of the Muslim world and there aren’t many Muslim clerical leaders who want to have anything to do with Jewish religious leaders. Getting the religious leaders to agree to get together is probably going to be the hardest part of the process!

Russell Crowe seems to be in a slump. I remember when Gladiator came out. That was a good movie. However, lately he cannot buy a hit. The Goodyear was in twice the number of theaters as Babel. However, Babel did better. I guess throwing a telephone at a front desk employee is not a good career move. Just kidding, All the Russell Crowe fans.

My friend Mikey, who happens to gay, we were talking about our beliefs and morals. He was surprised to find out what mine were and he told me that if I didn’t support gay marriage and the LGBT community then most devout Christians would embrace me…although I’m more of an agnostic. :) I remember back in 2003 Bill Maher (please let’s not get into an fight over him) he said that gay marriage wouldn’t even be an issue if religion didn’t exist….and I don’t know, I can’t remember the last time I saw a gang of atheists and agnostics protesting against it. I know that there are plenty of people from all religions that are not against gay marriage but the media doesn’t really concentrate on them but they do exist. Julie Stoffer from MTV’s real world is Mormon and she is for it. Hell, even the blond twit from View is and she’s Christian. lol

As much as I love to see the photos - they look so unhappy - the swarm of people and photogs must really be upsetting - they can’t even enjoy a little sight seeing - they are virtual prisoners - one article said they had to turn back after 20 mins and go inside - very sad. As for proof about the Smiths - I gave you the sources to get you started on the research. Defamer, Dlisted & Perez all have stories about them, as doe a lot of other gossip blogs. Someone else mentioned that one of Jada’s lovers came forward either earlier this year or late last year. That’s plenty of info to start your search with. Another good source is Lainey’s page. She’s written about the rumors in the past as well. If you want definitive proof, then you’re probably going to have to strap a lie detector on Will and/or Jada because they’re the only ones who know for sure.

Surprisingly, the Meg Ryan affair didn’t tarnish his career, but the phone throwing and his hissy fit after an award show didn’t allow him to read his poem turned people off. It probably won’t last too long– I mean look at Sean Penn. In the 80s, he got into fights all the time, but eventually, his work overshadowed his off-camera behavior. And plus, romantic comedies haven’t been that great lately.

No one is faulting you for not having heard the rumors, BUT…you’re acting like we were purposefully spreading an unfounded rumor. This is probably the 5th or 6th time this subject has come up on a B/A thread in the last 4 months. Because most of us, when we heard the rumor here or elsewhere, did the Googling FOR OURSELVES and found the info.

Cars, trucks, motorcycles and memorabilia from McQueen’s widow Barbara and other collectors were put up for sale by Bonhams and Butterfields at the Petersen Automotive Museum on Saturday. The entire auction brought in $2.9 million.
A 1937 Crocker “Hemi-head” V-Twin motorcycle brought in $276,500, the biggest price of the day and a world record for a Crocker motorcycle, said auction house spokesman Levi Morgan. A 1934 Indian Sport Scout went for $177,500, and a 1920 Indian Powerplus Daytona brought in $150,000.
One anonymous bidder paid $70,200 for Persol sunglasses McQueen is believed to have worn as he played a dapper thief in the opening scenes of 1968’s “The Thomas Crown Affair.” A Rolls Royce Silver Shadow from the same movie brought in exactly the same price.
The winning bidders included private collectors in France, Great Britain and the United States, and the Petersen museum itself bought several items, Morgan said.
McQueen, who died in 1980 at age 50, was known nearly as much for his love of vehicles as for his acting. His most famous movie moments include a mad motorcycle dash in “The Great Escape,” and a car chase through the streets of San Francisco in “Bullitt.”
I don’t understand why people who don’t like BAMZS just don’t stay away? All they end up doing is making asses of themselves and making other posters roll their eyes. Anway, BABEL is getting good reviews, and once it opens more widely, it’ll start picking up lots of cash.
Brad and Mad are so cute together; I bet Mad had fun being so high up. It made me melt, watching him doze off like that; there has to be a lot of love and trust between those two.

Also, before anyone starts using the fact that Angie’s carrying Z as a sign she might be pregnant, remember: Mad is getting to be bigger, and while she might have been able to carry him for long distances before, it might be a little tough now, and since they were in a big crowd, Brad probably thought it was safer to lift him onto his shoulders. And Mad might haved wanted to ride up there; he’s little, and even if Brad or Angie carried him, all he’d probably see was people’s backs and heads and stuff. Angie also put Z onto her shoulders too for awhile, so she isn’t trying to hide anything, I don’t think.

PUNE: Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who were here since October 5 for the shooting of a part of the film A Mighty Heart, on Saturday checked out of the five-star hotel where they were putting up since their arrival.
Jolie, Pitt and their three children checked out from Le Meridien Hotel on Saturday morning after completion of the shooting in Pune, sources said.
However, the city police, airport authorities and the hotel management had no idea about where the star couple and their children had gone.
“We have no idea where they have gone after their check out,” a senior staff of Le Meridien said.
According to sources, after the shoot here, Jolie and Pitt were to leave for Mumbai to resume shooting there.
“They were to go to Mumbai. In fact, we have had a flight plan ready for them for today as a stand by. More than this, we have no idea,” a senior airport official said.
The visit by the Hollywood couple to the city created lot of media hype and also led to skirmishes between the photographers and the couple’s private security personnel.
A Mighty Heart is based on a book of the same name by Marianne, wife of slain American journalist Daniel Pearl.
Pearl was abducted and later killed by militants in Pakistan in 2002. The film is largely based on the life of the murdered journalist and is being co-produced by Pitt’s company.
Jolie plays the role of a pregnant Marianne in the film while Dan Futterman is doing the role of Pearl in the movie directed by Michael Winterbottom.
Parts of the film were shot in Pune due to their similarity with parts of Karachi, the city from where Pearl was abducted.
Due to the controversial subject of the film, the Pakistani Government had refused permission for shooting in that country.
Subsequently, the film unit hired a couple of bungalows in ‘Sindh Colony’ and the shooting begun on October 9.
During their stay, the couple visited an adoption centre and did some shopping in the city, besides touring Goa and Rajasthan.

when i was visiting beijing, china, i was told NOT to eat any street food. the tour guide emphasized this many times. NO buying food from the street vendor because of unregulated sanitary reason !!!!

I can’t figure out if lil’ Z has that sad look on her face because she didn’t get any of the ice cream because the ‘ice cream inspector’ nixed it - LOLOL, or if she herself didn’t like the way it tasted, and was all, ugh - take this away. She looks like a little girl who is pouting because she’s not getting what she wants so I say Braddy daddy nixed the cone before she could wrap her little hands around it. Soooooo cute.
That happened to me once…I was in Cairo and they were frying fish on the street. It smelled so good. All dipped in corn meal and fried just like Mama makes — swear to jeebus, I felt like I was back home in **** when I saw and smelled it - they gave me a paper plate full, some napkins and a pita with it. Grrrrrrrrrls. I ate it - was just greasin’ right - it was TASTAAAAY….about 3 hours later I wanted to die. Seriously. I started thinking about how they were gonna ship my body back home….it was nausea from the depths of hell and projectile vomiting. I was like please don’t let my ass die in Egypt. I look back on it now and laugh. But at the time, I was crying and scared as hell.
I say all this to shore up what others have already said.

Just for your information Zahara is not a BABY anymore! She will become tow years old in January. She is a toddler and her thighs are very suitable for a toddler in her age.

Those film were shown while very married to Maniston. and remember Troy, all those Brad and Jen PDA on Cannes, NYC premier didn’t help the BO result in America, thank’s god , Brad had international market which make -up for the loses in USA market. and some other films like The Spy game and Mexican, Maniston was with him in every premier but did these movie become a hit because he was the husband of Maniston. NO!!!!
Babel is an artsy movie , never compared it with Borat, SAWIII,or Jackass.
It was in no.6 spot on recent BO result. not bad for an indie film.
