Is “sexiest man alive” has to be the one who picks up a jilted wife who got on practically every magazine cover there is selling her Pity party and continues to sniff on Oprah? Then VV might have a chance. NOT.

Brad as the “sexiest man alive” has a whole new, contemporary meaning: a father, an adoptive father of two children of color, a lover of the sexiest woman alive, a humanitarian in duo with the sexiest woman alive, a man who got the sexiest woman alive PREGNANT, sharing every day and every night and the BED with the sexiest woman alive LOL Clooney? He got that “old Hollywood charm” thing but compared to all the points above on Pitt, IMO he is kind of ‘blah’ in the “virility” department LOL

nothing sexy about Vince Vaughn, NOTHING! definately Brad or George again, although I voted to elect Tim Gunn form Project Runway,love him

A few points I’d like to make:

I know Clooney jokes about Brad getting the title of SMA twice and how he only got it once. Clooney, as much as he hates the paparazzies, I do get the feeling he likes to stay current on the hot gossip. I get a sense from him that he, unlike Brad does like to be recognized for not only his looks but work. They might be good friends, but they, atleast to me, appear to be like Chalk and Cheese. George may play coy, but he likes being awarded and he likes the attention. Brad, feels guilty for his looks and therefore always plays down his achievements and is way too humble.

VV, I think he might get it. What I’ve noticed from various magazines is how people play down Brad’s looks or they label him a pretty boy without substance. All of a sudden, VV is touted as a “great guy who is funny”. “Brad’s just a pretty boy who is dumb”

Sadly, I do think that many people have this stereo-typical and ill - informed outlook.

Again, not a hater, but I’m a realist and pragmatic. I know there are women out there who don’t like Brad anymore, more than three or four. I see how the magazines, even the ones like Glamour, People, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Newsweek, and other such publications take digs at both Angie and Brad.

The mentions are subtle but they are there. People feel he has too much so they must somehow take that away from him by being snarky. The same applies to Angelina.

It’s the ole’ crab in the bucket syndrome. If there is one crab in the bucket it would surely crawl out very quickly. However, when there are many crabs in the bucket, if one tries to crawl up the side, the others grab hold of it and pull it back down so that it will share the same fate as the rest of them. So it is with people. If one tries to do something different, get better grades, improve herself, escape her environment, or dream big dreams, other people will try to drag her back down to share their fate. No matter how much you are committed to change, others are going to do their best to keep you from making changes.

I feel that’s what’s happening with Brad and Angelina. I’m a fan of both but I can’t turn a blind eye and say only a few fanistons dislike them.

I still think Brad’s hot and I know many others who do too. I know he has more substance to him than people would like to admit also.

It’s this discomfort from those other crabs in the bucket (refering to people within Hollywood, the media, and the public), that makes them pull at Angie and Brad’s legs.

So, no I don’t think Brad will get the SMA title. It would be too much for many too handle.

The fact that Perezhilton is featured in 4 pages on GQ…..
Can it be a clever ploy to get him to stop dissing Maniston?

As in -Maniston complains to her agent Stephen Huvane-who tells his brother Chris at GQ “hey, do a flattering article on Perez, this way he’ll owe GQ and will stop dissing my customer in order not to p*ss you off”.

Maybe Maniston greased some palms with some big money…God knows it’s the only thing she has lots of.

I see your point. I will say that if VV wins, I will burn my copy as soon as it arrives in the mail without even opening it. I really dont have anything personal against VV, but to me it will be WHY People might choose him. Because really, besides that Breakup movie(which was truly awful, yes I saw it..long story) what has he done? He has done nothing else besides DEFENDING THEIR LOVE. That would be the angle you know… and THAT I could not bear.

Chirly,No need to worry.People will NOT choose VV,I would bet money on this one.

I don’t think Brad wants to be SMA again this year (If we beleive Cindy’s stament about the VF cover about saturation). Plus the mini van majority will be pissed.

I kinda like Clive Owen; he pretty much stole Closer from Jude Law and Julia Roberts, although I wish he would’ve stolen a better product than that crappy movie. I also liked him in Sin City. But I prefer brown eyes. Owen does have a glint to his eyes that is sinister. I think I prefer Hugh Jackman, though. His smile just kills me, especially the way his eyes crinkle.

Just my too sents.I’ve always foud this People “award” of the sexiest man alive completely lame because if you think of it all men in Hollywood are the sexiest man alive.They are picking a different person every year! And no one really remembers who won the title the previous years because each year will be someone else.The only cover that is still memorable is Brad’s because he is the only Hollywood star and A-lister that has won the title twice.So actually there is no need for this contest to even exist.
