Angelina Jolie spoke to the media in Mumbai yesterday during a press conference to talk about her shooting experience in India for A Mighty Heart. She clarified that she and Brad Pitt have no plans to adopt an Indian baby. Read the full article after the jump but here what Angelina said on the importance of this film: “We need to tell the story of Daniel Pearl and the reason we are making this film is because it’s very important to have a dialogue between the two cultures. I have the blessings of Daniel Pearl’s family to play this role.”

Angelina Scorches Indian Baby Rumors
It was an unusual start to an eagerly awaited press conference. Hollywood diva Angelina Jolie, who evidently kept her role as ambassador in mind at her first encounter with the Indian press on Wednesday evening, began with a confession.
“We have been avoiding the press since we landed in India, but the only reason was that we had a lot of work to do,”she said.
Jolie arrived at the conference in a white linen ensemble. Flanked by co-stars of the film, A Mighty Heart, her humble confession was followed with a terse rider: please ask questions pertaining to the film only.
The only personal query she allowed was one that enabled her to clear the air about rumours of her adopting again. No, Brangelina won’t be adding an Indian baby to their brood after all.
The evening began with the usual banter between her management team and the press. The ’screening’ of journalists took an inordinately long time, with some being asked to stay out of the conference.
For those who did eventually make it to the Princess room at the Taj, there was disappointment in store: producer Brad Pitt had decided to stay away. Was it to mind the babies? No one knows.
The actress insisted that A Mighty Heart was not about terrorism. “We need to tell the story of Daniel Pearl, and the reason we are making this film is because it is very important to have a dialogue between two cultures,”she said. “I had the blessings of Daniel Pearl’s family to play this role.”
When asked if Marianne Pearl was the most difficult character she had played in her career, the actress replied, “When you are in the middle of making a film, you always think that way.
Playing her role is certainly challenging for me, as I have to make the world understand this woman and her family.”
Jolie said that though she knew Marianne personally, she had never met anybody who had faced this kind of trauma.
“She has every reason to be embittered and angry about what happened to her husband and her, but she is very positive and has nothing against Pakistan,”she declared. Did Marianne visit the shooting or want to see rushes of the film? “She is not interested,”replied Jolie.
“She has been travelling around the world, writing on women’s issues.”
Indian actor Irrfan said that he had expected to get intimidated by the star but she went out of her way to make him comfortable.
“She has a very strong personality and it comes across,”said the actor who referred to Jolie as “Angie”during the conference.
And finally, Jolie’s take on Mumbai’s infamous suburban trains. When asked how her much-publicised ride on a local was, she replied straight-faced, “It was fun.”

I’m partial to Shiloh, too, but not because I like her parents so much…..no, no, my bias towards blondie, baldy, pinky-pale babies is because my two boys looked just like that as babies, so yes, you could say I am partial. ;)

And why do people automatically blame Angelina for everything? Give me a break already. Its not her fault. Those people were pushing to get in. People are saying the parents were trying to get in and they were manhandled. Yeah the guys with the huge cameras barging in on the school were fathers picking up their daughters lol really I’m not stupid.
But since we are in a Angelina blaming mood. I didnt finish my work today, Im blaiming Angelina for that. THanks AJ feels good to put responsiblity on someone else. Now I know the great high JA must feel when she blames others.
I’ve watched the video 3 times, I don’t see AJ and her bodyguard involved in this craziness at all. End of story. Next?

Is it possible for you to read Stardusts post about her knowledge of the Indian press as someone who IS from there? I think you’re only opened to seeing one view of it and thats the view showing Angelina in a bad light. It has to be because you aint even tryin to entertain any other scenerio.

They (jolie/pitt) brought 15 giant bags of toys as well as a baby walker for the 65 children. “There is so much variety that they have given us”, the director tells STAR, ” There are puzzles, musical toys, battery operated toys, baby clothes, crayons, colorful balls.”
people—Georgoe Clooney talked a bit about Brad and Angie. He said he would rather fly with Angie any minute. He said he was watching ET, saw Brad bounced on the tarmac a few times. He then tole Brad , the next day, that he would not sit in the same plane with him. But he added that Brad has since improved.
Life and Style—has a pic of Brad (remember we saw the video at splash.com, that Brad was carrying Shiloh?), the mag has a clearer pic of Brad. In his pocket, has a TEDDY BEAR !!!!

My biased to Shiloh really has nothing to do with AJ and BP either. I had one of those bald headed baby dolls with full puffy cheeks and cries when pinch it’s belly, the one you put in mini strollers and lug around during (my)kindergarten days. My favorite till about I started noticing boys and climbing trees lol. Even now with an eye and a couple of limbs missing it’s still lovingly stored in my mom’s garage. Nothing to do with Brad and Angie at all.
Ok I saw the video and damn that was crazzzyyy. The media totally decontextualized the whole thing.

Yeah, I know, I guess I didn’t make it clear in my post what I responding to. I am just glad there is an interview with this, because I thought there might not be, considering some people said the picture was older. It’ll probably be just a little sound-byte interview like Brad’s for Esquire (which I was disapppointed in, frankly), but it will be an appetizer for the Jan Vogue, which I seriously hope will have a nice looooong old school Angie interview.
Estelle, yes, I was not saying I was partial to Shiloh over Mad & Z, just over Suri. I can’t believe that kids actually looks like Tom, but I have admit she does. I guess they found a donor with a resonable resemblance. No wonder Tom is so happy and pleased with himself. I hope Brad & Angie do not go to his wedding. If they do, then I hope they never make it to the ceremony because they were too busy checking out the matress in the their hotel room.

Gitane - I was going to say anything, but George sure does keep with all the entertainment news doesn’t he? He mentioned how doesn’t pay attention to the gossips, but he talked about that story with the Deal or No Deal girl and now admits to watching ET. George protests too much. I think likes knowing about all the entertainment gossip. lol. It’s okay George..you can admit it.
Initial reports about the school fracus are disturbing but so often turn out to be embellished. I don’t know if Mickey was involved but if he was…good on him. I for one am thrilled that Angie has Mickey. That guy would take a bullet for her…and so what if he roughs up someone on the sideline here or there. How’s the guy to know who is who and what their motives are? He’s out to protect his boss come hell or high water. I love him for that!!!!

ROTFL. Now there’s something I hadn’t considered…that Okra didn’t get an invite because TC thinks Brad and Angie will come if she’s not there. I can see Cruise’s brain working in that way, but B/A don’t give a rip about Okra’s friendship with X. If they wanted to go, they’d go regardless of whether or not she’s there. And they wouldn’t snub her in public…like Cruise just did!

ITA PT, I don’t think Brad and Angie give a damn that Okra is friend with the X either, I think that they have better things to do that worry about the X and her friendship with Okra, and what Crazy Tom did to Okra by not giving her to his circus of a wedding was really cold, and Okra knows that she was hurt that she did not get an invite to the “so called wedding of the year” so playing off like its no big deal to her is stupid. I wonder if she is going to have Tom back on her Show, I bet she will and they are all going to make nice, like it was no big deal.
BTW: I don’t think Brad and Angie are going to Tomkat’s wedding
