Angelina Jolie’s Signature Smile
Angelina Jolie spoke to the media in Mumbai yesterday during a press conference to talk about her shooting experience in India for A Mighty Heart. She clarified that she and Brad Pitt have no plans to adopt an Indian baby. Read the full article after the jump but here what Angelina said on the importance of this film: “We need to tell the story of Daniel Pearl and the reason we are making this film is because it’s very important to have a dialogue between the two cultures. I have the blessings of Daniel Pearl’s family to play this role.”
UPDATE :: Added more pictures of Angelina Jolie in sandalas and carrying a brown leather bag on the set of A Mighty Heart from earlier today. Angie was spotted leaving the Anjuman-e-Islam school in Mumbai, India.
Angelina Scorches Indian Baby Rumors
It was an unusual start to an eagerly awaited press conference. Hollywood diva Angelina Jolie, who evidently kept her role as ambassador in mind at her first encounter with the Indian press on Wednesday evening, began with a confession.
“We have been avoiding the press since we landed in India, but the only reason was that we had a lot of work to do,”she said.
Jolie arrived at the conference in a white linen ensemble. Flanked by co-stars of the film, A Mighty Heart, her humble confession was followed with a terse rider: please ask questions pertaining to the film only.
The only personal query she allowed was one that enabled her to clear the air about rumours of her adopting again. No, Brangelina won’t be adding an Indian baby to their brood after all.
The evening began with the usual banter between her management team and the press. The ’screening’ of journalists took an inordinately long time, with some being asked to stay out of the conference.
For those who did eventually make it to the Princess room at the Taj, there was disappointment in store: producer Brad Pitt had decided to stay away. Was it to mind the babies? No one knows.
The actress insisted that A Mighty Heart was not about terrorism. “We need to tell the story of Daniel Pearl, and the reason we are making this film is because it is very important to have a dialogue between two cultures,”she said. “I had the blessings of Daniel Pearl’s family to play this role.”
When asked if Marianne Pearl was the most difficult character she had played in her career, the actress replied, “When you are in the middle of making a film, you always think that way.
Playing her role is certainly challenging for me, as I have to make the world understand this woman and her family.”
Jolie said that though she knew Marianne personally, she had never met anybody who had faced this kind of trauma.
“She has every reason to be embittered and angry about what happened to her husband and her, but she is very positive and has nothing against Pakistan,”she declared. Did Marianne visit the shooting or want to see rushes of the film? “She is not interested,”replied Jolie.
“She has been travelling around the world, writing on women’s issues.”
Indian actor Irrfan said that he had expected to get intimidated by the star but she went out of her way to make him comfortable.
“She has a very strong personality and it comes across,”said the actor who referred to Jolie as “Angie”during the conference.
And finally, Jolie’s take on Mumbai’s infamous suburban trains. When asked how her much-publicised ride on a local was, she replied straight-faced, “It was fun.”

Thank God Brad is back! He probably dropped his commercial project like a hot potato when he heard about the incident. Hopefully now that people from the set who were there, too, have come forward things will et resolved a lot quicker.

Bad as all this bull is it just tighten up for me how Brad and Angelina together is the right stuff. This is team business and this how a team supposed to work. They got each other back about everything and didnt neither have that with nobody else that I ever seen. they seem to be able to count on each other with no question and thats damn nice.

Me too! I think all of it, Maddox’s face paint and Black Sabbath tee shirts, the “Pots and Pans Band” shirt Shiloh wore on the People cover, and Z’s hair and bangle braclets, just makes their blood boil. Luv it!
To echo my post above, people need to see that their are many ways to express yourself, and there is more to life than the preppy button-down for boys and frilly shi-shi poo-poo dresses for girls.

Hey Dragonfly - Angie has a stylist for Mad (and Zee, too). I saw it on Fabulous Life of Celeb Kids on VH1. There’s a lady in LA who has a boutique and she clothes a lot of celeb kids. She said she picks out stuff she thinks Angie will like and sends them to her. I believe she said Angie likes simple and functional and a little edgy. She also said that whatever she sends Angie that Mad actually wears in public flies off the shelf of her boutique and that people love Mad’s “style”.

good morning!
so the school saga is continuing to unfold. i guess this means they won’t be leaving india when they planned, and that they probably won’t be attending tomkat’s wedding.

You know…as bad as this situation is? I’m sure Brad and Angie would much rather be dealing with it than going to TomKat’s wedding! At least this mob scene was created by accident. TC is courting one!

Hey Indie! How’s it hanging?
I’m dying to know if Brad ripped Mickey a new one in private…cuz I kinda think he did. While it does matter whether or not racial slurs were used, I think Brad has probably got to be getting a little fed up with the constant accusations against their bodyguards. There’s been enough truth in each situation that’s come up to make their continued use of Mickey questionable. I know Angelina would hate to fire him, but there’s got to be a point at which they realize that his actions are a poor reflection on them for continuing to employ him. Personally I think Mickey is a riot…but he’s never threatened to bash MY face in for looking at Angie too long. However, he does need to be reigned it just a little bit. A kinder-gentler Mickey if you will…or at least one who controls his anger better!
I’m from Pune, India.
All I want to say is that insulting Americans is every Indian’s agenda.
I don’t think the bodyguards made any racist comments. There’s no proof. People of India are born drama queens and are basically just envious of all Americans and all white westerners.
had plastic surgery? i just wonder…
