Angelina Jolie spoke to the media in Mumbai yesterday during a press conference to talk about her shooting experience in India for A Mighty Heart. She clarified that she and Brad Pitt have no plans to adopt an Indian baby. Read the full article after the jump but here what Angelina said on the importance of this film: “We need to tell the story of Daniel Pearl and the reason we are making this film is because it’s very important to have a dialogue between the two cultures. I have the blessings of Daniel Pearl’s family to play this role.”

Angelina Scorches Indian Baby Rumors
It was an unusual start to an eagerly awaited press conference. Hollywood diva Angelina Jolie, who evidently kept her role as ambassador in mind at her first encounter with the Indian press on Wednesday evening, began with a confession.
“We have been avoiding the press since we landed in India, but the only reason was that we had a lot of work to do,”she said.
Jolie arrived at the conference in a white linen ensemble. Flanked by co-stars of the film, A Mighty Heart, her humble confession was followed with a terse rider: please ask questions pertaining to the film only.
The only personal query she allowed was one that enabled her to clear the air about rumours of her adopting again. No, Brangelina won’t be adding an Indian baby to their brood after all.
The evening began with the usual banter between her management team and the press. The ’screening’ of journalists took an inordinately long time, with some being asked to stay out of the conference.
For those who did eventually make it to the Princess room at the Taj, there was disappointment in store: producer Brad Pitt had decided to stay away. Was it to mind the babies? No one knows.
The actress insisted that A Mighty Heart was not about terrorism. “We need to tell the story of Daniel Pearl, and the reason we are making this film is because it is very important to have a dialogue between two cultures,”she said. “I had the blessings of Daniel Pearl’s family to play this role.”
When asked if Marianne Pearl was the most difficult character she had played in her career, the actress replied, “When you are in the middle of making a film, you always think that way.
Playing her role is certainly challenging for me, as I have to make the world understand this woman and her family.”
Jolie said that though she knew Marianne personally, she had never met anybody who had faced this kind of trauma.
“She has every reason to be embittered and angry about what happened to her husband and her, but she is very positive and has nothing against Pakistan,”she declared. Did Marianne visit the shooting or want to see rushes of the film? “She is not interested,”replied Jolie.
“She has been travelling around the world, writing on women’s issues.”
Indian actor Irrfan said that he had expected to get intimidated by the star but she went out of her way to make him comfortable.
“She has a very strong personality and it comes across,”said the actor who referred to Jolie as “Angie”during the conference.
And finally, Jolie’s take on Mumbai’s infamous suburban trains. When asked how her much-publicised ride on a local was, she replied straight-faced, “It was fun.”

You’re absolutely right…the moment they got to india, it’s been one thing or the other. Honestly, will there ever come a time when people will say let’s give them a break? They are only shooting a film for goodness sakes….meanwhile we have TC who has given time, date, location for his wedding and he is not getting this much press. I mean the man is practically begging for press and these people won’t leave BP and AJ alone.

Whether your idol Brad Pitt makes AJ happy was not the question. The focus was why she looked so happy.

Of course, Angie was happy before Brad.
Now she is deeply in love with Brad. She changed many things just for Brad, giving a birth to their child, moving back to Los Angeles, U.S.A., allowing Brad to be a father to their elder kids officially.
He is the ONE of the main reasons which makes her happy.
Didn’t she say something very close to my opinion in the interview in Nambia when she was pregnant about her laughing crises.

Well I was reading along, enjoying the thread, and it took a serious downturn when posts appeared about why Angie is smiling or how much or if Brad was happy before her, or she used to smile before him, or if he used to smile befoe her and who is happier than whom….c’mon people! We’re better than that kind of silly exchange. And to answer “fan’s” question, NO we do not have teams here, certainly not a Brad v. Angie one. I hope people are past that.
The story about the school is everywhere, now the parents filed a complaint with police. I think it was a very bad choice to film when the kids were inside. I really hope they leave India this weekend.

Maybe it’s true that Bollywood would like to attract Hollywood stars. But the people of India do not care and the Indian government does not care. And that is alot of people. Over 1 billion in a very tiny peninsula. You expect there to be some sort of formality to everything. India is an overpopulated country. Not all the people know about Hollywood. You cannot control so many people. Just look at how skinny the Indian police are. They have a hard time controlling India too. India is a chaotic country. But there are so many places that are not like what you see in the tabloids. If the Indian press is saying bad things about Brangelina, it’s because again things are more chaotic there. But as far as I can see, the Indian press have been as bad as alot of other press.
FOR YOU TO JUDGE INDIA AND SAY “NO ONE WANTS TO GO THERE NOW” BASED ON THE INDIAN PRESS IS REALLY IGNORANT OF YOU AND HIGHLY IMMATURE. GROW UP! You don’t know India. There are so many good things to India. Getting angry at INDIA for something they can’t control is ridiculous! Do people get angry at the US for the negative press against stars? No! Becuase you can’t blame the United States citizens nor the US gov’t for freedom of speech.
It’s funny how you can believe the negative things about India, but you can’t believe anything negative about Brangelina.
And once again, stop blaming INDIA, a whole nation, for one negative aspect. I’ve been to India, and I had a great time there. I always saw past any negative aspects of India, because with any territory like that, it’s expected. But after I left that country, I was so renewed & refereshed (like I had been off to a retreat), it was unbelievable. And I was so loved by the Indian people. They are a good people. They really are. They are a simple people. And there are parts of India that are wonderful. And there are many many places where you won’t find any chaos at all.
I am also ashamed at someone like ‘Stardust’ (JJ poster, who’s comments I read a while back) who seems like a follower and not a leader and agreeing with all the brangelina criticisms of Indians and India. That was a while back though. And if you’re going to ask me why I didn’t post anything before, it’s because I never have the TIME. I just look at the pics, rarely skim through the comments and leave. In fact I haven’t been to JJ in quite a while. i just coincedentally happen to have the brief time and energy to post today. There’s nothing ‘vindictive’ here and stop blaming people for having their crticisms over BAMZS fans and Brangelina.

I was just watching a video of Angelina. And I have to say when she was in her young hey days - trying to find herself she was positively scary. And certainly gives the aniston lovers (Fans, media, Oprah;s, Trumps, Voight’s) enough ammunition to shoot at her. But what is remarkable is how she has transcended that phase to emerge as a better human being. As teens and young adults when we are gowing we do experiment, try different and new things, try to see how far we can go - and the fact that angelina never had a father figure in her life (or at least one as self-obessed as Voight) does not make for a very stable, loving environment. So I can understand the toild and demons she must have been fighting at the time. But she came through it, she learned from her mistakes, she embodied the lessons that life taught her and has matured into an intelligent, warm, loving and courageous women. What is so endearing about her is her honesty, her alck of facade, she knows that we all know about her past, she never covers that, but embodies it to and emphasizes that her apst is what ahs defined who she is today, but having taught her valuable lessons in life.
If you look at palstic Hollywood, which one of the stars would you vouch for as having the same appeal - a handful( Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins ….) These are people you know who can trust - as they have beliefs outside of their own greatness.
Now if you compare this to aniston, who comes across as shallow, superficial, “not the brightest”, dishonest and certainly very weak, who would you rather be in a sinking boat with?
Stardust is an Indian, by the way.
I’m a long time lurker and and have always admired Angelina. She might have done some unusual stuff when she was younger but she definitely found her purpose and meaning to life since she did LaraCroft and adopted Maddox.
What I can say is that Angie choose to take charge of her life , make changes that agrees with her values and principle and live it . Years later… along came Brad who has “lost ” in his marriage but do not have the guts to take charge of his life. Knowing Angie and how she has made the charges and living it on her terms opened up Brad’s eyes to how he can do likewise to a stale and failing marriage. Well .. he apparently did what he had to do to get out of the sham marriage before he rot in living daylight . I could see the “new” Brad is alot more in control of his life , living it the way he wants rather then the way the media or public wants him to .
I will say both of them complement each other and this synergy is very good to both of them and their families.
