Angelina Jolie spoke to the media in Mumbai yesterday during a press conference to talk about her shooting experience in India for A Mighty Heart. She clarified that she and Brad Pitt have no plans to adopt an Indian baby. Angelina Scorches Indian Baby Rumors
It was an unusual start to an eagerly awaited press conference. Hollywood diva Angelina Jolie, who evidently kept her role as ambassador in mind at her first encounter with the Indian press on Wednesday evening, began with a confession.
“We have been avoiding the press since we landed in India, but the only reason was that we had a lot of work to do,”she said.
Jolie arrived at the conference in a white linen ensemble. Flanked by co-stars of the film, A Mighty Heart, her humble confession was followed with a terse rider: please ask questions pertaining to the film only.
The only personal query she allowed was one that enabled her to clear the air about rumours of her adopting again. No, Brangelina won’t be adding an Indian baby to their brood after all.
The evening began with the usual banter between her management team and the press. The ’screening’ of journalists took an inordinately long time, with some being asked to stay out of the conference.
For those who did eventually make it to the Princess room at the Taj, there was disappointment in store: producer Brad Pitt had decided to stay away. Was it to mind the babies? No one knows.
The actress insisted that A Mighty Heart was not about terrorism. “We need to tell the story of Daniel Pearl, and the reason we are making this film is because it is very important to have a dialogue between two cultures,”she said. “I had the blessings of Daniel Pearl’s family to play this role.”
When asked if Marianne Pearl was the most difficult character she had played in her career, the actress replied, “When you are in the middle of making a film, you always think that way.
Playing her role is certainly challenging for me, as I have to make the world understand this woman and her family.”
Jolie said that though she knew Marianne personally, she had never met anybody who had faced this kind of trauma.
“She has every reason to be embittered and angry about what happened to her husband and her, but she is very positive and has nothing against Pakistan,”she declared. Did Marianne visit the shooting or want to see rushes of the film? “She is not interested,”replied Jolie.
“She has been travelling around the world, writing on women’s issues.”
Indian actor Irrfan said that he had expected to get intimidated by the star but she went out of her way to make him comfortable.
“She has a very strong personality and it comes across,”said the actor who referred to Jolie as “Angie”during the conference.
And finally, Jolie’s take on Mumbai’s infamous suburban trains. When asked how her much-publicised ride on a local was, she replied straight-faced, “It was fun.”

Who exactly in your opinion and by name a fanatic?
No matter the positive things that has been posted, I still hope and pray that Angie and Brad and the kids finish up with India AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND leave right away, and never come back. The Bollywood stars can stay in India for all I care, after all that is their country. But I hope and pray that my beloved BAMZS leave now and go back to the U.S.

Your righteous indignation is so funny. The production team on this movie is British, the Line producers are Indian, but somehow when the undiscplined India media act stupid, Angelina has to be blamed, and I am somehow supposed to be ashamed because I am a fan of hers.
By being a humanitarian, does that mean she has to be responsible for the actions of everyone around her.
Most stories that have come out have been so exaggerated or been outright lies. Anybody remember the story of her car running down a cyclist, it then changed to one of her bodyguards, then it turned out not to be any one involved with her. The paps can get a decent picture from a distance, why they have to be in their face is what I don’t understand. The media are always blaming her bodyguards, but if they are not on the job and something happens to Angie, the bodyguards will be blamed for not doing their jobs well.
For those of you that come here and call us names for liking Brad and Angie, we claimed JJ and left Dlisted, Perez and other blogs for your hateful spewing, still that is not enough for you.
If calling the fans here names makes you happy, hey go at it, but it is not going to change anything. You are not going to change anybody’s mind here. JJ actually have more intelligent, educated, funny posters than the hate riddled blogs that are out there and that is why you keep coming back here.
Yes I adore Angelina and Brad for their humanity and their humility, and there is nothing pretentious about, for that I will always give them the benefit of the doubt and wait for a couple of days for the full facts to be out.

With so much trash out there, I believe one should read the full article at CNN. There will always be some bad guys complaining about this and that. It’s just like some parents will be complaining about the teacher not doing the job right. People will be criticizing about the president etc. Remember, there are always 2 sides of a story. Karishma, are you talking about the same India with its caste system and its “Untouchables”? Where somebody could be dying at your feet but if they were deemed untouchable nobody but nobody would come to their aid because of their class?
I’m sure there is some explanation as to why there was a scuffle. Were they trying to see the movie star or were they trying to protest the presence of the Americans and making threats? Wait until the investigation is finished before you start judging. A bodyguard’s job is to protect the client. If they were overzealous, then they should be reprimanded. If they were doing their job properly, then they should be lauded. If they were abusive, then they should be canned and made to pay for it.
On a different note, I like Angelina’s looks in those pictures. The hair and the smile makes her seem brighter and more beautiful.

MUMBAI, India — Angelina Jolie says playing the wife of slain American journalist Daniel Pearl in “A Mighty Heart” is challenging, as she attempts to portray her strength amid the loss of her husband.
“We need to tell the story of Daniel Pearl and the reason we are making this film is because it’s very important to have a dialogue between the two cultures,” the 31-year-old actress was quoted as saying in The Times of India newspaper Thursday. “I have the blessings of Daniel Pearl’s family to play this role.”
Pearl, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, was abducted and murdered in Pakistan in 2002 while researching a story on Islamic militancy.
His wife, Mariane, doesn’t harbor any ill will toward the Pakistani people, Jolie told a group of Indian journalists Wednesday.
Mariane Pearl has every reason to be “embittered and angry about what happened to her husband and her,” but she has remained “positive and has nothing against Pakistan,” Jolie said.
Playing Mariane Pearl “was certainly challenging for me, as I have to make the world understand this woman and her family,” the Hollywood actress said.
Comments about Never visiting India and reading about Indian Press is this and that is just so funny. I am an Indian, i live in the US now, planning to go back soon. I have never read or seen paparazzi and tabloids in India behave like they do in US. I couldn’t have said it better than Linda. I am a B&A fan but if what Karishma has said is true, i think A should apologize or atleast have her Bodyguards apologize. If those guys have said things like that, they should be kicked out of India Pronto.
Oh and honestly if some people decide to never visit India, that’s ok, it’s not India’s loss.

I think its horrific that her bodyguards commit violence and spew racist remarks on people everyday just because HER ROYAL HEINESS does not wish to be photographed. - Jen’s arrival yesterday wasn’t exactly quiet, it wasn’t exactly unattended, but it was definitely absolute chaos.
Pappies amazingly alerted in advance to her arrival, a personal swat team alerted in advance for protection. And I’m not the only one curious about the overkill. TMZ also asked the question – why not use the back exit?
Furthermore as Laura W pointed out in her email to me yesterday – if security is such a concern, why not take a private plane from any number of private and less publicly accessible airfields in and around the Los Angeles area?
Answer: Because if that were the case, no one would have seen her.
Don’t tell me someone like Jennifer Aniston doesn’t have the cash or the clout to make private travel arrangements. Hell, if Howie Mandel can score a private ride out of Heathrow within a few hours during the terrorist threat, Jennifer Aniston can CERTAINLY score a private ride out of London if she really wanted to, and something tells me that would take minutes.
