I just said at the end of the other thread that this isn’t the first bump in the road for Brad and Angie, and it won’t be the last, but it will bond them to each other even more.

Brad, as producer, is doing the right thing by going to the authorities himself to clear it up.

It’s going to come out that the only thing Plan B is guilty of is maybe some poor planning and coordination of the the location.

I agree they should not have filmed while children were there, they should have done that after hours.

But people, please, realize this movie is about a sensitive subject to Muslims, and it isn;t doing anything (in their perception) to educate people in the west that all Muslims are not terrorists. Like Katie said on the other thread, maybe they were just mad about the subject matter of the movie in the first place.

Micky is more than a bodyguard to them. The children esp Mad is close with him. I think they are doing their job as best as they can. And B&A values them.

I think Brad is doign the right thing by going to the polie himself, since they are in a foreign country they have to show their humility and cooperate with the authorities no matter how the complaints were unsubstantiated. Whether he will apologise, i dont think he should but i think he will.

There is such thing as losing or saving face in third world coutnries culture, the local authorities cannot be seen as siding with the foreigners.

What a mess. Shooting the film in India has been a disaster. No producer should ever go to India for a film. No matter how nice the scenery. The Indians appear to be totally disorganized and very aggressive. Angelina and her children have been in constant danger. If it were not for Mickey she would have been surged many times over the past weeks. Time they got out of India never to return. If you look at the video of the fracas, you see only Indians involved. It was the schools responsibility to communicate with the parents about the shoot. They were quick to receive the money but did not do their jobs to organize the parents. I hope no Hollywood producer ever shoots in India again.

Following the arrest of three of Angelina Jolie’s bodyguards for allegedly roughing up parents at a school in India, the actress has spoken out about the incident.

“It is not surprising that the press involved failed to mention their share of the responsibility in the chaos,” Jolie said in a statement.

In her statement, Jolie said, “As for this horrible rumor that someone referred to a local man as a ‘bloody Indian,’ let me say this: I would never work with anyone that was derogatory towards another man’s race. My family is of mixed race.”

I guess what I am asking is why, if the parents disagree with the terrorists..would they care if the school was used? The movie isnt going to be negative against all muslims..only those who believe in what the terrorists do. I presume that those at that school dont believe this way..and would only welcome a movie that showed balance.

I AGREE DANA. But you can’t control India. That’s the problem and always has been from the very beginning. It’s an overpopulated country where various people have different beliefs, values and opinions on the world. It’s very very hard to control the people of India. They are the most passionate, strong-minded people. And the money grubbing is because India is a poor, uncontrollable country. The people are living in poor conditions, even the ones making some good amount of money, so they will do anything to make a cent. Brangelina are aware of that by now, especially with the beggars everywhere.

Whenever ANY public figure (politicians or bollywood/hollywood celebs) do anything that goes against their beliefs, they will fight for it and fight hard. In fact, there was a very famous Islamic Bollywood actor who caused a riot by doing something close to terrorism, which he didn’t have to do, but wanted to express his belief in his religion. This is a common act amongst people like him. Not the terrorism part. Not in India as much as other parts of the world. But as far as causing a ruckus to stand up for your beliefs.

Either way, Brangelina must have been fully aware of all of this. I don’t know how they feel about all of this, but they have chosen to continue to stay there for over a month. So, it can’t be all bad. They could have moved out of there and gone elsewhere to finish shooting the movie. They know the problems that will arise. So, they feel they can deal with it, I suppose.

On the one hand, the smiling Scientologists grinning away, a thousand celebrities in tow, happy to primp for the cameras, on the other, the Pitts in India causing a stink, or at least their overzealous security team.

Just a few weeks ago, one manhandler put a photographer in a chokehold, yesterday they created controversy at a local school, apparently blocking parents from entering the facility to pick up their children, and reportedly even knocking down a student as well.

Needless to say, many parents were furious, lodging complaints with police and speaking to the press about their frustration.

For their part, the Pitts’ production company says that pappies were trying to get onto the set and in the melee, regular civilians were confused with journalists which resulted in some ruckus and even some racism? One of the guards was overheard allegedly referring to the crowd as “Bloody Indians” – not a very Jolie sentiment is it?

So Angie was apparently trapped inside the school as her people sorted it out outside and now the rumours are flying that she is livid about the incident, about the suggestion that her presence harms instead of helps, furious that her life and that of her family is now characterized by excessive security which only cues another “Break Up” story in Life & Style which, naturally, would be full of ****.

Anyway, was announced today that 2 security personnel have been detained by authorities – probably not the kind publicity the Pitts have been courting lately but still I’m sure everything will come up roses when they make a donation to the school or something equally philanthropic.

After all, who better than Brad to spin this back in his favour?

Finally – fresh reports from New Orleans, roads have been blocked, major security is in place, filming is starting for the Curious Case of Benjamin Button starring Brad Pitt. Everyone in the Big Easy has been on the lookout, no sightings yet but judging from the dramatic lockdown, it sounds like he’s close.

However, here’s an EXCLUSIVE tip from my girls L & L & R – Brad normally stays at the W when he’s in NO but this time, he has not made reservations – word is he and Angelina have bought a house in the Garden District and the family will be residing there during the shoot.

The video of what happened does not show any of her body guards doing anything wrong. People like you just cant wait to pounce on anything negative regardless of the truth. Most of the complaints about B and A on this trip : the car accident which turned out angie was not involved in after it was reported everywhere that she was in the car, the complaint about them not getting permission to land a helicopter..that turned out to not be true..etc but you never hear too much about any retractions.

I see that ‘the committee’ has convened; dictating to the very people they loathe how to conduct themselves or spin this into something they are would refuse to swallow in the first place. A melee between ‘guards’, the paps, and parents is solely the fault of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Nevermind that the school didn’t give the heads up to the parents or suggested shooting after hours. No, it is BP and AJ’s fault because they created the frenzy. Meanwhile, days ago, they were walking in the open and there were no incidents reported. BP took the kids to the horse ranch; AJ took Maddox shopping: AJ and Maddox visited refugees; again, no incidents. Trouble only happens when they are on their way, from, or actually working. Only BP and AJ would get a dressing down for actually working. And this isn’t a film rampant with objectional material.

Nice of you to point out that Angie spoke. She also gave a press conference the day prior which I’d bet that some of those paps left outside the school were also not allowed to participate. They complained to the hotel that they were not allowed at the press conf. Mick is an easy mark with his prior problems w/ the law and the video of him w/ that pap chokehold. I don’t doubt for one second that the paps didn’t contribute to the chaos that ensued and it is great that Angie called them on it…

yeah, isn’t it amazing that they’ve gotten in and out of airports, hotels, amusements under mickey’s watchful eye without incident–the exception being the rickshaw rides when they first arrived–but when it’s time to shoot the film (their reason for being in india), all hell breaks loose.

Do you any you not find this entire school scuffle a bit ODD? This segment of the film is being shot in a muslim school about an amerian who was killed by mulsim militants. The material and content of the film is contentious enough to get the parents feathers all ruffled to say the least. In the current political climate muslims are very sensitive to any cultural, religious,ethnic slur/slight that they perceive even if the intentions are good ones (as is with the film of Marianne Pearl). I have to wonder whether the parents anger/aggression displayed so authenticaly for all the media and cameras and indian press on display is actually because of the so called slurs by the bodyguards or whether if in fact they were simply affronted/outraged that this film was taken place in a muslim school? We also have to ask ourselves, if this had been an ordinary indian school would the reaction have been so heated? Would the bodyguards actually have been in that situation? I am by all means not condoning the actions nor comments of the bodyguards, but after seeing the footage of the riot scene on access hollywood am “questioning” the motives of the parents. In this day an age when a scene made is not just a scene made, but a politcal statement, one cannot always take the truth as being what is said.

This is an excellent point, katie, and I agree that it was bad judgement to use this location for a number of reasons:

The subject matter of the movie, as it portrays Muslim terrorists, and doesn’t do anything to help ideas in the west that all Muslims are NOT terrorists.

And that they filmed while children were there. They should have done it after hours. They didn’t need the children to be there to give authenticity, since the location wasn’t even being depicted as a school, but a police station.

If anyone should be “blamed” for these mistakes, it’s Brad, as producer, not Angie, as actor in the project. So, it IS fitting that Brad is answering to this, it’ his company. However ITA with ya’ll who say he shouldn’t apologize for “racial slurs” or “pushing and shoving women and children” if none of that happened. Perhaps a compromise would be to apologize for not coordinating the location better. Either way, Angie is not to blame, and it is nice to see him take the heat off of her.

I will just be glad when people/paps realize that this couple is REAL, and that they are a happy family, trying to work and raise their kids. I think people are still just shocked that they are still together, and that theyare very happy. Clearly, you don’t what the hell you’re talking about. All bodyguards you’ve seen with Angelina outside of LA on set are hired by the production company producing said film.

Mickey Brett is Angelina and now Brad’s bodyguard on all international trips. Brad and Angelina employ Sun Protection while in the United States and Brad has the same personal bodyguard who’s head of security for years. You’ve seen the pictures of him carrying Maddox and with Brad in 2005 while in France and London.

The only personal bodyguard hired by Brad and Angelina in India is Mickey. The rest were hired by the Indian/British production company for the shoot there. Please STFU unless you actually know what you’re talking about.

This incident in Mumbai is so totally blown out of proportion, simply because it involves BP and AJ. The school must have given its OK to shoot scenes there, so I would say that it was their responsibility to warn the parents about this, which they obvious didn’t. So how does this translate into being Angie’s fault? Not to mention the papz who want to get their money shot, schoolchildren or not in the way.
BTW, ‘bloody’ is not a racial slur. It’s like a British way of saying ‘damn.’ Like ‘bloody idiot,’ or ‘bloody hell.’ Seeing that Britain has a lot of history with India, I’m sure they are quite aware of this, but I suppose it makes for more sensational news to liken it to a racial slur.

Mikey is a body guard who has a tough job. After all razzi’s have done to other stars including nearly attacking Witherspoon’s children at daycare, I think Mikey should be given some slack. He is doing is job, and he’s doing it effectively.

I’ve been reading the comments here and wanted to answer so many questions regarding India, Indians in general, and if the people at the school reacted the way they did because they are Muslims.

I don’t mean to be rude but people here will never understand stand some circumstances about how India is or how the people behave and feel unless you are an Indian.

Everything is interconnected. If I were to talk about Muslims in India, I’d have to talk about the Gujrat riots. If I were to talk about controversies in India involving celebrities where they’ve had to go to court, the list would never end. It’s common for many bollywood movies to go through hurdles or face protests and controversies.

Indians do struggle with their cultural identity. India is a fairly new democracy at 50 years old and is one of the rare countries in Asia that has a stable government. The wounds from the violent partition that took place between Pakistan and India have not healed completely. Many Indians still hold grudges against the British empire for invading the country and taking charge. Indians were made second class citizens in their own country while the British ruled and made servants out of the locals. It’s also a country that is very traditional and believes that guests and the elderly should be treated with utmost respect. Showing hospitality is a matter of pride. I also can’t help but laugh seeing the picture of Brad leaving a courthouse. Mind you, I’m not laughing at him, but rather the thought this pictures brings to my mind of seeing so many bollywood stars entering and leaving court houses in India over the years. I won’t get into the these topics because it would take forever to explain and not to mention all the space it would take up.

What I will say about this commotion that took place is that it got out of hand. The media has been way out of line as far as the Jolie-Pitts are concerned. I empathize with them for the situations they are having to face. I also do not rule out the posibility that this problem had something to do with religion playing a part in this controversy. The production team and the school officials are also at fault for not communicating well enough. They didn’t have a plan for how they would deal with the kids in the school while they were shooting the movie. School officials should have informed parents ahead of time so that if the parents had any complaints, they would have been handled beforehand. The production team is also at fault for not selecting a better time to shoot scenes inside the school. I’m also very disturbed with how the media is behaving and has been behaving for the past few years. They are beyond intrusive, antagoning, pushy, demanding, and utterly disrespectful of people’s privacy and with regards to a country’s culture and customs.

I know by reading the posts that many are disturbed by all the slanderous news reports. What I’ve always maintained is that when you keep a positive attitude outlook on life and don’t let the negativity around you push you down into the ground, you’ll be fine. If the Jolie-Pitts can survive this and handle the situatation the right way, then I have no doubt this will become another long forgotten bump in the road.

Cain, please read my whole post, before you jump to wrong conclusions. For example, i did write that we don’t know the other side of the story etc. And I was joking, that there are far worse things that could have happened. I’ve mentioned only in one sentence that X. Y. had some valid points, so please don’t kill me for having a slightly different opinion.

By the way, I’m proud of Brad, he did the right thing, he had the morals and the balls to take the blame.

The only thing that was ever remotely interesting about Paltrow was when she was dating Brad. Then she went from him to Affleck!! I cant stand him either. My dislike for him began when there was a story on him in the same issue of a magazine as Brad. Brad was on the cover. i think it was premiere mag but not sure. Anyway, the title of the story was Ben Affleck, the thinking woman’s Brad Pitt.

Kind of ironic that a) he would soon after start dating Paltrow and b) he turned out to be for a while at least, someone who liked to drink, gamble and go to strip bars. I dont know what other women were “thinking” but he wasnt and has never been all that to me.

LOL…I’m sure the studio is only thinking of profits on the other end…how will this affect our bottomline - it’s kind of twisted, but the way it works is — the more controversy, hype and problems — can usually equate to MORE money at the box office…I think ultimately the movie will make more money, ain’t no way it’s going to hurt the film. People will be like, “OMG! Oh yeah! - this is THAT movie where Angie plays a black woman and caused a riot in India…let’s go check it out!” LOL

I feel they have to do something about Micky. he works for them and as their employee, what he does is their responsibility. it’s not a question of loyalty it is one of responsibility. just as we are suggesting other film companies will be hesitant to film in India in the future because they have no control over their people, others will feel the same about Brad Angie and Micky. this means other film companies, directors, will hesitate to include Brad and Angelina in their films for fear they will cast a negative reflection on them and their final product. The audience is not much affected with publicity, but the people in the biz don’t want the integrity of there film compromised. Ya know what, I don’t think Micky or his bodyguards used racial slurs or push children, but the whole world say him manhandle a photographer in pune, (regardless of circumstance it did not look good) Micky had complaints against him in Africa, it is obvious he handles things in a different way than most bodyguards. He has been Angies body guard for a long time, but they need to be let go. Because of his past behavior people especially the paps can make all soughts of claims against him, which would be more trouble for brad and angie.

The media and the press also share some blame, because they contribute to the circus like atmosphere. I understand that Angie and Brad are public figures, but they don’t court the press like some celebs. Since they got together they have tried to remain private, you don’t see them kissing on red carpets, they are low key. They don’t court the attention, they try to use the attention for good. I think this whole experience is new to them, Brad has always been famous, but this level is mega, he has never been hounded like this, I can only think of a few stars who have attracted this type of media scrutiny. elvis, michael jackson, madonna.

I think Brad and Angie need to try a different approach with the media, I think they need to be a little more open with the media about their relationship, I don’t mean they need to kiss and tell all , but because they say nothing the media craves more , I don’t know it can’t be easy for them.

Alex, it really is going nuts here with security…. It is funny, but about five years ago we had major after game “fans out-of-control” situation…. Yep, Michael Jordan will be at the game. So between this and the BAMZS bodyguards I am overwhelmed.. Me and hubby decided to take our bikes to the game it is so much easier to get out of there as opposed to driving, for us it is like a 25 min bike ride to home from the Horseshoe… Maybe, thats why our Bradley likes his motorcycles :lol: How have you been, haven’t chatted for awhile, so you are going to LA, for how long?

Is it not even crossing nobodys mind that out of all going on, the one video and only footage is the one that should tell the story about how off the hook things got, and they got that way because the paps and just mass people everywhere. Cliniqua - the bad teeth crack on Porgie came from me. It bugs the hell out of me when people who are worth millions of dollars won’t shell out a few thousand for caps or veneers or sh#t…just WHITENING! Porgie’s a long-time smoker and I think someone else mentioned he was a big coffee drinker, too. Those are two of the worst stainers of teeth. Only blueberries and grape joice are worse. (No, I’m not a dentist or dental hygienist, but I have a friend who’s a hygienist.)

I’m not saying I’ve got the best set of pearly whites ever…but hell, I go to dentist on a regular basis for basic maintenance and care. And Porgie, dude…invest in some dental floss. If you’re too cheap to go to the dentist, at least floss daily…that’ll help a lot. But hey, don’t listen to me. Since people are always comparing you to 1930s and 1940s era movie stars, go the Clark Gable route and let all your teeth rot out of your head and get some false teeth. That’ll really go over well with your bimbo dates.
