OlderBrad Pitt’s Exclusive Interview on the Bodyguard Controversy
Brad Pitt gave an exclusive interview to NDTV (New Delhi Television Limited) late last week, speaking out against the the bodyguard controversy. Brad was interviewed by NDTV’s Managing Editor Barkha Dutt and sat alongside Indian theater and film actor, Irfan Khan. Watch the first 8 minutes below! Part II after the jump… Thanks, Alexanderina!!
Here’s an excerpt of what Brad had to say: “This is not what Angelina [Jolie] and I wanted. This contradicts the message of the film we are trying to make. Angelina and I have a multi-racial family, we want them to respect and understand different religions. Maybe we should have explained our intentions when we first got here. We would not hire anyone who is racist or who would hurt or push a child.”

I think the haterzzzz came here to gloat and found instead that Brad is not falling apart or groveling about this, rather he’s confident in the defense of his employees. The Indian actor that was there with him even mentioned that this kind of nonsense goes on there frequently. Too bad, so sad, Brad is not crumbling or crying or headed to Oprah’s couch. nor is hiss relationship with Angelina going to crumble, get over it, deal with it.

It is a good thing that BP does not live his life by people’s comments on a blog. If he did, he would not have moved his life in a new direction, become a Dad, and become a humanitarian. He would have still been in his Ivory tower being Malibu Brad for the JA’s fans and non-JA’s fans. If he had not spoken out on this incident, then People would have said he was hiding and dodging the issue. Now people are critiquing his pattern of speech and saying he should have scripted the interview.
They keep harping on this cheating issue as if they were involved in this Hollywood marriage. Let it go people. I bet JA had moved on long before the dust was settled with VV. BP did the right thing. He spoke out and diffused a situation from getting bigger in the press and this is what is bothering people. They wanted this to be the end of BP and AJ’s careers and personal relationship. However, this incident only cemented their togetherness and had BP speaking out about his commitment to AJ and their children.
I see biles and foam oozing out of the screamer’s brain and mouth . LOL too funny. You try too hard to skew perspection . The sensible , rational public who thinks and read facts know how is telling the truth and who are fake and fraud. They do not need small minded people telling them what to think.
What Angelina and Brad are doing are actions from their heart . Nothing speaks louder than their actions , sincerity and compassion. Many Blessings to this lovely family and may they enjoy the blessings of this coming Thanksgiving week.
I totally disagree with whoever thinks BP tried to deflect the question. He answered it, but mostly he tried to steer the focus towards the purpose of their presence in India in the first place: doing a movie on collaboration between people of different races, and different creeds. Focus on the positive, that’s his goal. Good man.

That’s a possibility and its also a possibility that the bodyguards were falsely accused. And since paparazzi were swarming around set all day long and didn’t get any of this on camera is reason enough for me to give the bodyguards the benefit of the doubt.

It’s totally my belief that the papz in question that were involved, possibly anxious to get inside the school and take snaps, may have pushed and shoved the parents themselves, and they could have tried to ‘front’ and assume the identity of the film’s and/or Angie’s security detail…THEY may have shouted those words and gotten aggressive when trying to get inside the building (IF they were said at all)….to either deliberately anger the parents/Indian people towards Angelina and Brad (which would be really disgusting), and/or try to gain access pretending to be security…or BOTH.

Tell us, Desert Chick, in your infinite wisdom, what exactly occurred in India from the standpoint of a person who was not actually there? Was someone murdered? Attacked? Do we have actual footage of bodyguards abusing children and parents? You said, that Brad didn’t know what happened and in the same breath you said those children were victims. If Brad doesn’t know, what makes you think you know more than he did, enough to say that they are victims? I really don’t care what kind of fan or non-fan you are. Brad did very well in the interview.
He stepped up to the plate.
He got the message across. .
It’s just unfortunate that it was a horrible misunderstanding.
I am convinced that the media blew this out of proportion.
But this is life. NO one single project is smooth from start to finish. You can never anticipate all the things which are going to happen. The most important thing is how to solve the problem and make good executive decision.
Brad did that tactifully and successfully.
I think it was a good thing that Brad did the interview. He wasn’t at the school, he wasn’t even in Mumbai when it happened but he came back did an “investigation” of what happened and went to the police station and then sat for an interview.
He’s a producer of the film and he and Angie are the face of the film so it should have been him to do this.
While I do believe that the paps are very much to blame for starting this whole mess, I don’t believe the guards were innocent of the ethnic and religious slurs, and my only complaint is that Brad could have done a better job in getting his point across, even though I don’t believe his assertion of their innocence.
But I always think that about Brad. With his 15+ years being famous and being interviewed, you’d think he’d be better at it. Even he says he’s not very eloquent in his speaking and it’s so evident.
He really needs to work on that.

She did a good job with the interview, and i liked that she didnt’ ask too many questions on the movie. That was not the purpose of this interview and there was no need to maket the movie at this time. Brad looked great as usual. He was not born to be a speaker , but that’s what makes him more real. I can’t relate with people who become someone else when they talk to the Media. He is who he is.
