Brad Pitt gave an exclusive interview to NDTV (New Delhi Television Limited) late last week, speaking out against the the bodyguard controversy. Brad was interviewed by NDTV’s Managing Editor Barkha Dutt and sat alongside Indian theater and film actor, Irfan Khan. Watch the first 8 minutes below! Part II after the jump… Thanks, Alexanderina!!
Here’s an excerpt of what Brad had to say: “This is not what Angelina [Jolie] and I wanted. This contradicts the message of the film we are trying to make. Angelina and I have a multi-racial family, we want them to respect and understand different religions. Maybe we should have explained our intentions when we first got here. We would not hire anyone who is racist or who would hurt or push a child.”

Its a good thing Angie covered Shiloh with a blanket, because when I saw Katie and Tom with Suri’s video those flashing of lights got Suri irritated (she’s kinda shock i think)….

I really like Irfan as well. I hope he will get casted by Brad in future movies. He really stuck his neck out for Brad and Angie, since they will leave but Irfan lives in India and could tarnish his popularity. I think Irfan did the honorable thing, saying what he thinks is the truth. His career may suffer, but he will be able to look at himself in the mirror in the morning for the rest of his life, and not feeling shame.

I’m sorry but some people might have a different opinion, other than the married wives and homosexual men obviously drooling over acne-scarred Pitt.
This has nothing to do with JA, just about Pitt…I suggest the people in denial GET OVER IT already. Yes he’s good looking, yes he’s highly overpaid but c’mon.
This was scripted and he failed miserably, where were his acting talents when he needed ‘em? Obviously this is a PR move, nothing else. Do you think that he TRULY knows what happened, he isn’t the victim, those children are. And who is to blame? Yep, the paparazzi & know, Pitt has gotten himself in the mix. I completely agree that respectable people can hire dishonest people and that is exactly why he shouldn’t have done this. HE wasn’t accused of racial slurs, their bodyguards were…and with all the media attention that his/her bodyguards have been rec’g lately, he shoulda just fired his butt.
C’mon, Pitt and Jolie have the resources to help people out…as they should and as Jolie admitted, hey are paid ridiculous amounts of money for doing what they do, but you Pitt-Lovers out there are so jaded. He’s not Mother Theresa, I understand that he shouldn’t be persecuted out there for what happened with JA (because nobody knows whose to blame, both sides have their version) but I’m not about to put him on a pedestal and call him Christ either. Gimme a break, wisen up and stop licking your computer monitors wishing that he were yours. He’s done this with all his chicks, all of ‘em, he’s mimicked ALL OF THEM in some way and I feel bad that he needs to do this, and for his childrens sake, I hope that him and Jolie never break up and they live a happy life. He just shouldn’t have done this, this was completely scripted, he’s even stuttering a lot and I’m embarrassed for him!

Off-topic:All right, so Time is going to choose their “Person of the Year” they have a panel to help determine it. Here are the folks in this panel Arianna Huffington, Brian Williams, Emilio Estevez, Newark Mayor Cory Booker, and Tom DeLay…WTF? lol Isn’t he supposed to be in court, jail or something? I kid, I kid. :) Anyway they must suggest a person who “most affected the news and our lives this year, for good or for ill.” So, what would y’all suggestions?

That was a TOUGH TOUGH interview, and Brad took it. Answering truthfully, no spin, no cover, no publicist, just exposed, and he took it. It really makes him look strong and a responsible man who is protecting the important issue at heart, and his family.
Many thanks Jared and Audrey for the videoclips! I must admit, that i could hardly concentrate on Brad’s words, because i was mesmerized by him. So all this debate whether he struggled for words or not, etc, seems oh so superficial to me lol. Brad, you don’t have to explain anything, just look at us and we believe that black is white and Ritzygal is normal.
On a more serious note, I love that Brad defended the bodyguards, this is what a good boss MUST do. And I’m sure that the incident was blown out of proportion, and the whole situation was not that bad, just the Indian police had a power trip. They do it with their own stars, shame on them. And Brad was shrewd enough to do a little promotion of the movie, very good move.
I respect Irfan very much, he is a brave and honorable man. All hope is not lost wheny there are such good people in the world.
All in all, I’m happy they leave India.
