Brad & Angie Spend Thanksgiving in Vietnam
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were spotted riding on a motorcycle earlier this morning in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. They reportedly made a quick trip there for a bit of shopping and sightseeing. According to the AP, Brad and Angie also ate at a popular Vietnamese restaurant converted from an old temple.
Do you think they’ll go Black Friday shopping? (Just kidding.) This second surprise visit to Ho Chi Minh City came shortly after a surprise visit to Cambodia where Angie pledged to set up a new conservation project.

I have to laugh at the comments about being bored while riding through the street of Vietnam. You try it and laugh your head off while in the process and see how quick you end up in someone’s cart, motorbike, car or cart. Idiots!
Anywhoooo. Did anyone see that Canadian show on tabloids and how they got their stories? Bonnie Fuller of Star was featured and the subject was the Angelina storms out on Brad cover in the summer.
Star ran that story because and I quote “We don’t know the whereabouts of Angelina” They hadn’t seen her in about 5 days so they made the story up that she took the kids and went to a hotel when the fact was they just moved to their house in Los Feliz. Then, Star got a tip that they had stayed at the Roosevelt for a romantic couple of days. Fuller was upset because it didn’t fit with the story they wanted to run because they couldn’t find Angelina. So, they decided to run both with the Roosevelt as the ‘make up’ night.
Moral of the story? The tabloids lie, lie and lie again

Gosh, these two just having a normal day on the road with little or no makeup and hairstylist, and already look like they are in MAMS sequal shoot LOL!!!
As I said in the previous thread I can’t completely ignore the sentiment of people who might not “celebrate” today as Thanksgiving (native Americans) and Angie being one of them who has that heritage. But my multi-cultrual family celebrate as my kids LOVE any kinds of holidays, just to spend with friends and loved ones. My daughter went around the house all morning singing Jingle Bell changing the lyrics to “Thanksgiving Day” LOL

I don’t think they look uncomfortable. They look normal, like they aren’t doing anything for a camera, because they aren’t. If someone followed you around all day and photographed you - without you knowing it (so you wouldn’t be posing) - you’d look the same. When you are thinking, doing whatever, going about your business not really interacting with anyone in any particular way? You aren’t smiling or being expressive either. Most of the pictures of Brad & Angeling we see are shots of them leaving somewhere or going through the airport - and they look like they are thinking about getting themselves and their family from point A to point B with a horde of people/cameras in their way. It must be tedious.
When they are doing something interesting - eating, talking, interacting with someone - they look animated same as anyone else.

The family certainly is having an adventurous time. They are really enjoying their lives and that is what it is really all about. All the other stuff, such as rumors, paps etc, are just an inconvenient nuisance. Best wishes and safe travel to BAMZS.
I wish them visited Thailand. I beleive there are a lot of Brad and Angie fans in Thialand ……….. inclding me .I know Angie ’s come to Thailand a few times.
Everything about them is staged. If they wanted to go without being seen, I’m sure they could have worn helmets. And come to think of it, this is like the only time I’ve EVER seen Mr. Pitt without a helmet.
A photo op is so much more important to them than their lives. And why aren’t they home spending thanksgiving with their family.

Star magazine used their tow days stay in a Hotel while they where moving to Los Feliz as what happend after a supposed “fight” they had.Witch means after their “fight” they kissed and made up and stayed in a laxarious Hotel for tow romantic days.But In fact they stayed in the hotel because they where moving to a new house. And Star was making up the “fight” story simply because there wasn’t any picture of Angie for 5 days. So they mixed their fake story with the real one.

Are you kidding? Do you know how many people actually go on vacation for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a national holiday to give thanks for what you have but let’s face it you can do that every and any day. It’s also a day to sit around with people, eat and watch football. What they’re doing is hell-a lot more fun then turkey and cranberry sauce

No, there is no law :lol:… it is a custom for many but it appears Brad and Angie are making their own customs.. last year they spent Thanksgiving in Pakistan and Christmas with their family.. I expect this year they will do the same and spend Christmas at home.
BTW, it is also becoming a “custom” for fanistons to criticize every little thing these people do. Looks like this Thanksgiving is no exception.

Helmets in Vietnam are rare!!! I lived there I should know. They are not trying to look good. They are just trying to blend in. That is how people ride around the city. No helmets!

This is like a sequel to Mr. and Mrs. Smith. They look awesome.
Wholly Brad and Angie in my country. How cool is that? Wish they were there a little later when I plan to return to visit Vietnam. They seem so happy together and so down to earth. Don’t care what anyone said but they are wonderful parents and they seem to enjoy every minute with each other. I’m very happy for the both of them and the wonderful children they adopted and created.
How many actors and actresses actually spend time to visit and enjoy the local cultures as much as they do? Look at them. So unpretentious. Love it!!! Wish them happiness always.

Hey guys,..looking at this pic I’m reminded of a little Brad story.. Does anyone remember the sitcom Step By Step? It was a modern version of the Brady Bunch and Suzanna Sommers and Patrick Duffy were the parents. Anyway, the three sisters on the show were talking about their fantasies. The oldest one, Dana, hers involved Brad. lol She’s in the middle of the desert w/ no water and little hope of surviving until Brad comes riding along on a motorcycle only wearing a pair of tight jeans lol She said his butt would look like one of those Greek statues. So, she gets on the bike behind him, wraps her arms around his body and holds onto his chest hairs as they’re riding off into the sunset lol Yes, I remember it quite well….:)

Notice how these past 2 Thanksgiving holidays they are giving gifts to others… Pakistan earthquake victims and now Vietnam project….they epitomize what Thanksgiving is all about…being grateful for what they have by giving to others less fortunate…a wonderful example for me anyway…and should I say for all the world….
As far as all the stories about Brad’s parents and Thanksgiving, I don’t believe any of it…my BS meter went sky high when I saw those stories on the net.

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie surface in Ho Chi Minh City
Hollywood’s hottest couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie unexpectedly arrived as tourists to Ho Chi Minh City from Cambodia for a brief sojourn on Thursday morning.
It is their first visit to Vietnam. The Park Hyatt Hotel where they are staying said they were there purely for traveling purposes. An official from the city immigration department confirmed the news.
Towards noon, Brad Pitt took his famous wife on a hired gray Yamaha Nouvo motorbike to tour the city, visiting the centuries-old Ben Thanh Market dressed causally as normal travelers, sources said.
Angelina Jolie, who is also a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, the day earlier paid a surprise visit to Cambodia, where she once starred in “Lara Croft - Tomb Raider” before adopting a child there in 2002.
Sources said she was in Cambodia to discuss a forest conservation project.
‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ are expected to leave Vietnam for Cambodia Friday morning.
Actress Angelina Jolie was described as the world’s most beautiful woman in People Magazine’s “100 Most Beautiful” last year, while actor Brad Pitt was once chosen the world’s most handsome man.

phie, YES Brad does have that smirk on his face like a teenage boy who just got his dream date on the back of his bike LOL :) Only in this case, it’s Angelina Jolie, the “sexiest woman alive”, and the mother of his children. It’s nice they can do so many stuff together. Angie looks like she isn’t fazed at all riding on the back of the bike–she looks so relaxed and serene. I have never seen Brad riding with Aniston.

Thank you Clearview for explaining why she lost some weight. People sometimes forget that they have to look like the person they play. She made a lot of sacrifice playing MP with all that they went through in India. She has three kids too. it makes total sense actually. the congestion is so bad that’s why you need masks. traffic barely move, I am talking strictly about major cities like Ho Chi Minh of course, you don’t need a helmet. you practically move from street light to street light, if you’re luckly. that’s why it drives me nuts to see cars in Vietnam because that’s such a jackass, arrogant thing to do, driving around in stupid cars that’ll take up both lanes!

I’ve lived for a short time in Ho Chin Min(Saigon) as well and concur with you rarely will a helmet be seen either when on a motorbike or bicycle. I don’t think they are readily obtainable on short notice. I loved VietNam and the people. BTW in any third world country there are no laws regarding helmets, seat belts or car seats for children and they are difficult to obtain. People who have not travelled to a third world country should not translate non-third world especially American protocols and standards to another country yet alone a third world country.

There is a very positive post on TMZ, one of the very few you will find on that site. It compares Angelina to Josephine Baker, the African American actress turned French citizen. Angelina doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving. She has stated that after visiting so many countries were people are literary straving to death, she felt celebrating a holiday that encouraged people to eat too much food, especially when the food is high in fat and calories, was setting a bad example for her family. They celebrate X-MAS with her and Brad’s parents and family. Okay, I can hear the negativity boiling and getting ready to spew forth. Peace.

I am a parent and even though it is not the norm to wear helmets in Vietnam, I would. I know better and I would do better than the rest, if it ment my safety and my children’s safety were the end result. People do not travel with helmets on their bags and there are no helmets to rent in Vietnam, only bikes. Moreover, city traffic is snail-like, so they could well be on a sightseeing bus for the danger that bike represents. So now could all you righteously sad petty old women stop talking about helmets?

This morning on the today show They did a Holiday movie preview, and at the end of the segment Lester Holt filling in for Matt said He saw Babel last weekend and He absolutely loved it. The correspondant Dave Karger from entertainment weekly said “I think its the best film of the year”..

What’s up with all of TMZ’s recent Brad/Angie sucking up? Did they finally realize that siding with X was a lost cause? Or did they finally notice that X was attracting the wrong kind of publicity with her war with US mag’s Janice Min? Personally I find MK to be hilarious. And the thing that’s great about his comments are that he’s mean and rude about EVERYONE. He doesn’t reserve his snarkiness for Brad & Angie. Did you see the bit he did a couple of weeks ago on Madonna’s Time mag interview? He screwered Madge! It was hilarious. And how about today’s thread on Brit & Parasite? “THe STD Twins are out again”. Too funny.
As for MK’s comment sections - well, he can’t control what people say, but he does have some rules that he enforces - Speak your mind, but make sure your ass stays on topic, doesn’t make racist remarks, doesn’t harass a ***** and doesn’t spam my ass. For off-topic convo, head to the Forum. If you can’t follow these simple rules, your ass will be banned!
There was a time when MK would ban someone AND put all of their e-mail addy and IP addy on the front page. So he doesn’t put up with much crap from repeated abusers. I go to DListed to read MK’s comments and hardly ever look at the blog comments. Some of those people are writing from prisons and mental institutions!

One of my nieces is hosting tonight, and tomorrow we’re headed out of town for another at our cousins, and then saturday another family gathering and back home sunday. It’s crazy, tiring, but fun. OMG jpf, 3 days of thanksgiving celebrations that sounds like major fun and to just hang out with the family is awesome I bet, and do you guys cook every day for those 3 days? As you question why they were not at home sharing thanksgiving day with their family.Is their a law in America that strictly require their citizens to be with their family in thanksgiving day ? and I’ve a question when Brad was with Jen, do they regularly visit the senior Pitts in Brad home town ? I knew Jen was not their when the senior Pitt celebrate their silver aniversary somewhere in early 2003, Brad went alone while Jen puffing ciggie and busy managing her career at LA. mansion and Does Brad and Jen was with them in every thanksgiving or any holidays while they are still together ? I’m sure the last 2-3 yrs of their marriage , they were definitely not with them in thanksgiving.

I’ve been to Vietnam 3 times already and am Viet myself, and I can tell you that no one ever wears helmets. People are so used to riding bikes and scooters and the traffic is not like that in America where you have to worry about big ass SUV’s coming at you 100 miles an hour. Plus, Brad is not an amateur he can take care of himself and Angie.
And I have to say HOT DAMN they both look gorgeous. They look so freaking sexy on that bike together. Those are two bona fide shining stars, they radiate it. I love that they spent time in Vietnam, I have never heard of any stars of their caliber going to Vietnam before. I wonder if they might adopt from Vietnam. Maddox is Cambodian which is right next to Vietnam so maybe they will get another brother for the family. Can you imagine how cute that would be? It’s too bad none of my relatives in Ho Chi Minh know who the hell Brad and Angelina are lol. Or else I’d ask them for some news or any sightings.

The reaction to this film is so interesting. People that have seen it either love it (the best movie they have seen this year) or don’t like it at all. No in between. The same with the critics. Even though I tell alot of friends it is great they all think it is going to be sad and will wait for the DVD.

I make bread, and it happens every year that while I’m cooking, I get a hunger bang and I pop a piece of bread in my mouth to quell it and so I won’t eat something else until I’m finished and then I’m to full to eat anything! Out of all the food here, I haven’t eating anything but bread and pie. Sad, just sad.

As a matter of fact I do mind my own business not anyone else’s but it is really surprising (and shocking at times) that some comments are beyond liking or loving a celebrity (they are so obsessive that they are not even funny anymore). to those who are talking about the safety & helmet situation blah blah blah~ in vietnam you hardly ever see someone wearing a helmet. it has nothing to do about “looking good” or not. you can’t really speed like a mad person in vietnam because theres way too many motorcycles on the streets, sit-lo’s, trucks and people walking. the streets are so busy and crowded during the day & night. the kids over there don’t wear a helmet, their usually are seated in front of the adult who’s riding the motorcycle. plus, angelina & brad don’t even have their kids with them!! -_-”
but aside from all that~ i love the pictures. ^^ they look adorable together and are having fun.

They were laidback and seem like not being bothered. At 5PM, a reporter for Tuoi Tre suddenly saw Brangelina infront of the parking lot at the Park Hyatt. The picture of Brad carrying Angelina on the Nouvo bike was sporty. Both were dressed very simple and resembling backpackers.

I am such a liar! I just rather be posting than hanging with the family. I’ve two more days of them and for sure I won’t be on tomorrow, so that’s my excuse right now lol.
I love bread and because of that I do try to watch it but I could easily do like you say Alexanderina, and just sit and get busy with some butter. Sometimes I’ll make biscuitsjust like 6 small ones and just butter them up and chow. Today I made Parker House Rolls and and ate a ton. My dad was a great bread maker and so I got that one honest. What’s strange is that I don’t like sweets much. Cakes, doughnuts and the like really do nothing for me, but I like pie here and there (like today) but I make them more because my family likes them. I like Oprah ok but who goes to Africa and GAINS weight?! I forget the comedian who said that (Dave Chappelle?) That’s why I like Gail King a bit more. Gail doesnt trip about that stuff. She eats and enjoys without tripping about how she’s going to get it wittled off her hips later lol.

Hi jpf, lol, I was suppose to take a nap but I did not, cause I could not stay away from JJ, gosh we are so bad :lol:, bread, bread and more that is my motto, love it hot with lots of butter on it, when I was younger every Saturdays my mom used to make bread and I soon as she took it out of the oven I was on it like white on rice :lol:, and when I was living in New York there was always a bakery in the neigborhood that makes fresh sweet smelling bread and I swear I was in that bakery every Saturday, but now that I moved to SD, I can’t really find a good bakery, so basicly I am stuck eating slice bread fromt the store, lady, I have to track you down to get some of your fresh bread, that I am hungry now just thinking about hot bread and butter :lol:. Today we had Supermarket rolls, I like Pillsbury Rolls, they are great; and I love apple pie, we had an apple pie and a pumpkin pie today, they were both yummy. I used to like sweets when I was younger but not down, I have to be really in the mood to eat something sweet.

One of my cousins granny’s use to make this bread everybody would for. People would sneak them in purses and coat pockets. They were good cold, warmed, with butter or/wo. She died without teaching anyone the recipe and so I was determined to replicate it. I worked on it and on it, experimented, and now I’m the roll supplier when we have get together’s. I make lemon pies mostly, but I’ll do flan and when it’s a smaller crowd. What Brangelina had today sounds darn tasty more than what we did. I love Vietnamese food so much. I have a restuarant within walking distance to me and they make the bomb Vietnamese springrolls called goi cuon. So good. Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese, Indian food I could live on. What nerve! it’s thanksgiving and Brangelina got me thinking of Asian food.

So she died taking the recipe with her to the grave, I guess she did not want anybody to fighting over her recipe or something, so she decided to take it to the grave with her, well I am rooting for you to replicate it. I love lemon pies and flan, lady, you make all the good stuff yummy. I never tasted Vietnamese food until I moved to San Diego and there is the nice little restuarant close to me and the food is to die for, it is a little pricey, but I love it, I had Thai food and Japanese food a few times, and I got hooked on Indian food from when I was in England, so good especially the masala chicken and the flat bread so yummy; and I agree what B&A had today/yesterday at that restaurant sounds very yummy and I need some of that right now :)
Thanks JJ for the pics. Hey Frenchy, I read that too. It’s the way a 3rd world country works. Corruption is rampant. I think they have to earn a living & doing it in a not satisfactory & decent way is juts fine for them. It is dog eat dog mentality that exists.

I’m off to bed but it was good to read that you had fun today. Girl, I’m not a huge turkey fan but today I ate it like it was my job and I was up for a promotion. It was that good. Anywho, I hope we’ll get to see the kissing pix soon. Just the thought of Brad giving Angie a kiss on the forehead has me swooning. Hi Missouri Fan…I have not asked any of my relatives in Springfield, Mo. about Brad/Pitt Family in a while. My cousin said he did see Brad there a long time ago. Says that the “Pitt Compound” is not far from his house and that it’s all fenced off.
I’m the only BAMZS fan in my family so I don’t talk about BAMZS that much with them…they know I’m obsessed!! I consider it a magnificent obsession…
My mom was born in St. Louis, Mo and grew up in Springfield.

Just a note…Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam just finished hosting the APEC Summit (the Economic Organization from Asia-Pacific Rim Countries). Pres. George Bush attended the summit too as well as leaders of Canada, Mexico, Chile, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Philippines, Russia, Australia, NZ, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Costa Rica, Peru, Columbia, Brunei, India & of course Vietnam.

Hi Maniston, I was just getting ready to log off when I saw your post, lady you are to funny lol, but I have to say that I too ate alot of turkey today, we got a butterball turkey and it was so good, so juicy and yummy. And I too hope that we will get to see that pic of Brad kissing Angie on the forehead, that is so sweet and loving. The India media a.s.s-u-me that by creating some fictitious arrest to have Mickey and other bodyguards detained for another week would mean additional $$$ for their “photo journalist clowns” as B&A will have to hang around town … lol
See.. that what I like about Brad and Angelina. …they are the pros when it comes to reading these “fools” mind. They left town .. and decided to spend time
