Brad Pitt Owns 2007
Sun, 26 November 2006 at 5:57 pm
Brad Pitt almost looks too cool for school in the January 2007 issue of Total Film. The shades. The scruff. The crossed arms. His back against the wall.
The Total Film cover headline reads: “His darkest tough guy. His meanest good guy. His sharpest smart guy & his secret zombie sci-fi. Building Babel and exactly why Brad Pitt owns 2007.” The pictures aren’t new but the article is. Hope all you Americans are stuffed from Thanksgiving or poor from Black Friday! (:

Maniston
i just sent a message to the EMG. we’ll see if they can figure it out
So this is where everyone is!!
Someone on the other post said that Brad never walked the red carpet when he attended the AA
Well he actually did both times. When he and Juliette walked the carpet they stopped and talked to the media(she was nominated and did most of the talking) when Brad was nominated he walked the red carpet with Gwyneth but did not talk to the press.
BTW Brad looks yummy! Hey PT, pass the chocolate syrup!
Thanks gitane for alert!!!

Hey,
If that could happen, a bunch of us would have kids ranging from teens (Thelma and Louise), ‘tweens (Fight Club), and toddlers (MAMS).
Mine would be in the ‘tweens category, specifically conceived from the Details layout. You know, his head shaved, wearing shades, cut beyond human comprehension, and holding a white bunny rabbit, as a cig dangle from the corner of BP’s mouth. {sigh}
But I have to admit, my ovaries are humming…

Ritzy, I agree JA will not be getting invited unless she’s nominated. She stuckout like a sore thumb this year. I kept asking the moment I saw her on the red carpet, ‘why is she there, she’s just somebody’s X. Her movies weren’t nominated.’ Nevertheless, JA will probably attempt to hookup with Jake Gyllenhal or someone single to get in the “big dance”. Maybe she could holla at the 3-6 Mafia to attend with one of them hell all three. “High Five”.

79TH ACADEMY AWARDS
Early buzz on Oscars — Indies ready to rule
Ruthe Stein, Chronicle Senior Movie Writer
Wednesday, November 15, 2006
The final moments of the last Academy Awards were chaotic as the stunned producers of “Crash” rushed up to claim their best picture statuette and the “Brokeback Mountain” filmmakers attempted not to look broken-hearted within view of TV cameras.
Tune in to the Oscar telecast Feb. 25 and you may see something similar transpire with a race among independently made movies — and big studio fare trailing the pack. Like last time, competition in the acting categories also could skew independent.
Kowtowing to young audiences, who prefer watching stuff blow up to following nuanced stories, major studios are finding it increasingly difficult to rack up Oscar nominations. The lion’s share of them may wind up going to “Babel,” “The Queen,” “The Last King of Scotland,” “Little Children,” “Little Miss Sunshine” and “The Illusionist’’ — all smaller films that opened in limited release and have been marketed to sophisticated filmgoers.
One encouraging trend this year is the number of strong performances by women. This doesn’t mean actresses are getting better, only that they’ve finally been given material worthy of their talents. A not-so-encouraging trend is the number of Brits likely to be nominated, an indication that American actors aren’t quite up to snuff.
The playing field may get really crowded next month with the openings of “Blood Diamond,” “Dreamgirls,” “The Good German” and “The Good Shepherd’’ — the big studios’ best shots at garnering Academy Award recognition.
The Oscar nominations will be announced Jan. 23. Here’s the way I see the race shaping up.
BEST PICTURE
Most likely:
– “Babel”: This hypnotic multilevel film is off to a great start at the box office, and with its classy multicultural cast and philosophical musings it has the cachet that always impresses Academy members.
– “The Departed”: Popular entertainment at its best, and a huge hit for Martin Scorsese, whose other films haven’t even come close to the $100 million mark. Plus there’s a feeling the ultimate auteur is entitled to a best picture nomination just for being Martin Scorsese.
– “Blood Diamond”: The controversy prior to its release based on the concern of the diamond industry about the way it is represented has only added to the heat. Plus diamond-sharp Leonardo DiCaprio heads the cast.
– “The Queen”: With Princess Diana appearing as herself and Helen Mirren as her former mother-in-law, this wildly engaging British import has been packing them in at the art houses.
– “Dreamgirls”: A 20-minute sneak preview had audiences cheering at this splashy musical in the “Chicago” mode. Jamie Foxx, following his 2005 best actor Oscar, and Beyoncé Knowles are said to make beautiful music together.
– “Little Miss Sunshine”: This little indie that could is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Audiences have embraced it to the tune of $60 million, and even hardened Academy voters can’t be immune to its considerable charm. It is this year’s “Lost in Translation” and “Sideways.”
In the running:
– “The Last King of Scotland”: Well worth a nomination, it may be hurt by lukewarm box office receipts. Audiences don’t know what they’re missing.
– “Little Children”: Another brilliant piece of filmmaking that isn’t getting the reception it deserves. Hopefully Academy members will appreciate the amazing craft it’s been made with.
– “The Illusionist”: Could be at a disadvantage for coming out so early in the year. On the other hand, it’s taken in a tidy sum and is being marketed by the same group behind “Crash.”
– “Flags of Our Fathers”: The Academy’s respect for director Clint Eastwood could offset mixed reviews and a disappointing audience response.
– “The Good German”: The combination of George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh demands Academy attention, and those “Casablanca” inspired posters are garnering lots of buzz.
– “The Good Shepherd”: Two pictures with “good” in the title may be too much of a good thing. This one has Robert De Niro going for it, not just as a co-star, but also as director.
– “Borat”: Definitely a long shot, but then what were the odds of a mockumentary about a Kazakhstani TV reporter who manages to offend just about everybody even getting made?
BEST DIRECTOR
Most likely: Martin Scorsese for “The Departed”; Alejandro González Inárritu for “Babel”; Steven Soderbergh for “The Good German”; Todd Field for “Little Children”; Clint Eastwood for “Flags of Our Fathers”; Bill Condon for “Dreamgirls”; Stephen Frears for “The Queen.”
In the running: Kevin Macdonald for “The Last King of Scotland”; Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris for “Little Miss Sunshine”; Alfonso Cuarón for “Children of Men”; Pedro Almodóvar for “Volver”; Spike Lee for “Inside Man”; Edward Zwick for “Blood Diamond”; Christopher Nolan for “The Prestige.”
BEST ACTOR
This field would be even more crowded if it weren’t for the fact that several studios, inspired by George Clooney’s win last year for “Syriana,” have decided to pitch their heavy hitters in the supporting actor category.
Most likely:
– Forest Whitaker: His amazing rendition of Idi Amin in “Last King of Scotland” makes him the automatic frontrunner, especially if a nomination convinces people to go see his movie.
– Jamie Foxx: He’s said to hit all the high notes as a Berry Gordy-like manager who propels a trio of girl singers into superstars in “Dreamgirls.”
– Leonardo DiCaprio: Buzz is that Leo gives the performance of his career in “Blood Diamond” as a South African mercenary.
– Ben Affleck: His top prize at Venice may help fuel a nomination for “Hollywoodland.”
– Christian Bale: Critics have praised him in “Rescue Dawn.” His chances are improved by a strong showing in “The Prestige” as well.
– Peter O’Toole: His turn as a horny once-famous actor in “Venus” enthralled festival audiences.
– Will Smith: Completely winning as a salesman and single dad who winds up homeless on the streets of San Francisco in “The Pursuit of Happyness.”
In the running: Matt Damon for “The Good Shepherd”; Ryan Gosling for “Half Nelson”; Richard Griffiths for “The History Boys,” which already netted him a Tony award for the theatrical version; Guy Pearce for “Factory Girl”; Edward Norton for “The Illusionist”; Ed Harris for “Copying Beethoven”; Will Ferrell for “Stranger Than Fiction.”
BEST ACTRESS
Two Brits are the main competitors among this abundance of talent.
Most likely:
– Helen Mirren: Almost surely to win an Oscar to go along with her crown in “The Queen.”
– Kate Winslet: Unless Winslet scores an upset as an uptight American housewife who discovers lust in the suburbs in “Little Children.”
– Meryl Streep: Never count out this perennial Oscar nominee who was so stylishly cool in “The Devil Wears Prada.”
– Annette Bening: She’s frightfully good as a frustrated writer and horrible mother in “Running With Scissors,” but her role isn’t that different from her character in “American Beauty.”
– Penelope Cruz: Speaking in her native Spanish, she’s a revelation in “Volver” as a sacrificing mother a la Mildred Pierce.
– Cate Blanchett: She’s said to act up a storm as George Clooney’s old flame in the World War II drama “The Good German.”
In the running: Naomi Watts for “The Painted Veil”; Judi Dench for “Notes on a Scandal”; Julie Christie for “Away From Her”; Keisha Castle-Hughes for “The Nativity Story”; Maggie Gyllenhaal for “Sherrybaby.”
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
This category has rarely been as competitive because so many actors from the same movie are being pushed as nominees. The studio behind “The Departed” decided to enter all its big names, although DiCaprio and Damon clearly have the dominant roles.
Most likely: Eddie Murphy for “Dreamgirls”; Adam Beach for “Flags of Our Fathers”; Brad Pitt for “Babel”; Mark Wahlberg for “The Departed”; Steve Carell for “Little Miss Sunshine”; Alan Arkin for “Little Miss Sunshine”; Jackie Earle Haley for “Little Children”; Paul Giamatti for “The Illusionist.”
In the running: Alec Baldwin for “The Departed”; Jack Nicholson for “The Departed”; Paul Dano for “Little Miss Sunshine”; Shia LaBeouf for “Bobby”; Clive Owen for “Inside Man.”
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Little Abigail Breslin could find herself in a competition a lot tougher than “Little Miss Sunshine.’’
Most likely: Abigail Breslin for “Little Miss Sunshine”; Rinko Kikuchi for “Babel”; Jennifer Hudson for “Dreamgirls”; Anika Noni Rose for “Dreamgirls”; Sharon Stone for “Bobby.”
In the running: Sandra Bullock for “Infamous”; Demi Moore for “Bobby”‘ Emily Blunt for “The Devil Wears Prada”; Scarlett Johansson for “The Prestige”; Adriana Barraza for “Babel”; Emma Thompson for “Stranger Than Fiction”; Jill Clayburgh for “Running With Scissors.”
BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM
I had a chance to see almost all the contenders at the Toronto International Film Festival and can assure you this is the richest group the Academy has had to choose from in several years. I’m going out on a limb and predicting that “The Lives of Others” — a startling behind-the-scenes look at what went on during the darkest time in East Berlin — will take the prize.
Most likely: “The Lives of Others,” Germany; “Volver,” Spain; “After the Wedding,” Denmark; “Black Book,” the Netherlands; “Pan’s Labyrinth,” Mexico.
In the running: “Water,” Canada; “Avenue Montaigne,” France.
2007 will be the year of the jolie-pitts for sure! 2006 was a good year for them too. I will pray and send good energy Brad’s way and hope he wins the best supporting actor Oscar. I really think he is the frontrunner in that category, all the websites and magazines are putting him at the top of their lists. Man I can’t wait! And don’t forget that Angelina’s Vogue cover comes out next month! The one where brad flew to the shoot in his plane and kept some photos for his own personal collection, lol.
I just wanted to say that Brad has very lovely hands, don’t you just want to kiss them? They look so strong and gentle. Imo what makes Brad more sexier than he’s ever been is the inner peace he has found and the rich personal life he has. It radiates in his aura. At TIFF and the Babel premiere you could just sense this stillness and peace in his whole aura. He is so much more compelling as a person and has so much more to offer to the world now other than his abs and butt. However he is still fit as hell! Gorgeous Brad

No she shouldn’t have. Even I bought into that one awhile back, but how naive, not in the best interest of the child, and actually sexist to believe that a a female having child,

No she shouldn’t have. Even I bought into that one awhile back, but how naive, not in the best interest of the child, and actually sexist to believe that a a female having child will make everything alright in a couples world. It would have been simply a bandaid covering their issues.
Look at how Brad & Angelina are raising their kids. Read what Brad has said about how he wants to bring them up and then for the moment. Now put Jennifer Aniston in the mother seat along with the lifestyle she seems to prefer for herself, and one that is her right to have. Do you see where I’m going here?
jpf
Nah, she shouldn’t have had his child. Sounds kind of sexist. Besides, he’d have been the only adult in the family (single parent). He’d have continued to suffer at the hands of control out of guilt, and insecurities. He didn’t only need to be a father he needed what he’s getting now from Angelina … renewed purpose for life with a mature, understanding, supportive, independent, compasssionate, and intelligent mate/spouse. AJ and BP seem to have very purpose driven life.
Original jpf,
Yeah, Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. Thanks.

Thanks Jared for the new thread..

I couldn’t agree more.. Thank god they did not have children.
Hey guys, the Simpsons just made fun of Oprah lol The only difference was the tv hostess name was “Opal” that’s it really, everything was the same, even her set and the audience who cheered at everything. Her guest was an author who is supportive of childless women because in her mind children held women back.
Anyway, Brad is looking good. And if this thread fills up fast no need to worry I’ve sent Jared scans of Angie’s Maxim cover.

Oh well, looking at his pictures makes me feel bad for hating SHE-WHO WILL NOT BE NAMED so much. Man, it must be torture for her everyday looking at his pictures. If that’s my ex-husband, I’ll slap myself silly everyday and probably be lusting at his pictures. X loss, Angie’s gain. Thanks Jared and Audrey for a new thread!
BAMZ FOREVER!
OH! I MEAN BAMZS FOREVER!!!!!

Hey Julia, I love that pic as well Julia, actually that is my new background on my computer, and I can’t stop looking at it
Original jpf
My point is the stupid cow, X, had everything and she threw it away. Strung him along for so long, then pissed and whined when left. She did not deserve it and lost it Karma I guess.
Maybe I should have said I wish I could have had his babies. I would be on number 7 right now (biological) and we could adopt from everywhere, anything to be able to hold on to him on that motorbike. Angie is so hot I’d do her too, so I cannot be jealous. Just happy for them both.
and btw Brad could have knock me up and left for AJ, I could still have said I tasted perfection and had his kid to prove it. The kid would look like dad (see Shiloh) and I could hang out with BAMZ every other weekend. He would be a great dad to all his kids. Just wishing. I bet JA wishes she at least had that right now, However I do agree she would suck as a mom. btw is she c or b list right now? 2007 with be a circling the drain year for the X.
Oops BAMZS (left off the S)
No makeup, riding arounf in Vietnam and that shot could have easily been a still from a movie. What perfection, no wonder people pay so much for Shiloh pics.

I love Brad but I hope he doesn’t stop doing his pretty boy movie…I girl gotta have a dream, u know. And I need my fantasy movie every 2 years from Brad.
BTW, I’m so happy Brad and Angie are together raising a family because I’ve never seen two people so happy and in love as these two.
OMG, shouldn’t we be, you know, WARNED before a picture like this pops up? Whoa!
luv brad, you need a cold shower now. Your idea is pretty hot now. calm down. Now take a breather & you will be in line after me.
Thanks Jared for the pics.
from US Magazine Says:

“This week in whiny actresses: Still milking her break-up for all it’s worth, Jennifer Aniston explains how doing yoga helped her cry out the pain. “
——
Is this in their most recent magazine?
Wonder if Huvane will try to get a Pity Bone invitation to the Oscars again, although X has no reason to be there. He would try that just to create a drama and Academy might love the “Bermuda Triangle” for ratings. However Aniston would look so awkward and out of place if Brad & Angie show up as duo and no doubt looking SPECTACULAR together, sending everyone around them to dust. It will painfully show the world for once and for all, MISS Aniston is completely out of Jolie-Pitt league in movie-stardom.
I keep panning to the one with his crotch and the one with them on the motobike.
The cold shower did not work, let me go find my hubby. Buh bye
Alexanderina and QQQQ
