Someone on the other post said that Brad never walked the red carpet when he attended the AA

Well he actually did both times. When he and Juliette walked the carpet they stopped and talked to the media(she was nominated and did most of the talking) when Brad was nominated he walked the red carpet with Gwyneth but did not talk to the press.

If that could happen, a bunch of us would have kids ranging from teens (Thelma and Louise), ‘tweens (Fight Club), and toddlers (MAMS).

I saw Babel….Its REALLY GOOD! The best acting Ive ever seen from Brad in a movie.

Early buzz on Oscars — Indies ready to rule

The final moments of the last Academy Awards were chaotic as the stunned producers of “Crash” rushed up to claim their best picture statuette and the “Brokeback Mountain” filmmakers attempted not to look broken-hearted within view of TV cameras.

Tune in to the Oscar telecast Feb. 25 and you may see something similar transpire with a race among independently made movies — and big studio fare trailing the pack. Like last time, competition in the acting categories also could skew independent.

Kowtowing to young audiences, who prefer watching stuff blow up to following nuanced stories, major studios are finding it increasingly difficult to rack up Oscar nominations. The lion’s share of them may wind up going to “Babel,” “The Queen,” “The Last King of Scotland,” “Little Children,” “Little Miss Sunshine” and “The Illusionist’’ — all smaller films that opened in limited release and have been marketed to sophisticated filmgoers.

One encouraging trend this year is the number of strong performances by women. This doesn’t mean actresses are getting better, only that they’ve finally been given material worthy of their talents. A not-so-encouraging trend is the number of Brits likely to be nominated, an indication that American actors aren’t quite up to snuff.

The playing field may get really crowded next month with the openings of “Blood Diamond,” “Dreamgirls,” “The Good German” and “The Good Shepherd’’ — the big studios’ best shots at garnering Academy Award recognition.

The Oscar nominations will be announced Jan. 23. Here’s the way I see the race shaping up.

BEST PICTURE
Most likely:

– “Babel”: This hypnotic multilevel film is off to a great start at the box office, and with its classy multicultural cast and philosophical musings it has the cachet that always impresses Academy members.

– “The Departed”: Popular entertainment at its best, and a huge hit for Martin Scorsese, whose other films haven’t even come close to the $100 million mark. Plus there’s a feeling the ultimate auteur is entitled to a best picture nomination just for being Martin Scorsese.

– “Blood Diamond”: The controversy prior to its release based on the concern of the diamond industry about the way it is represented has only added to the heat. Plus diamond-sharp Leonardo DiCaprio heads the cast.

– “The Queen”: With Princess Diana appearing as herself and Helen Mirren as her former mother-in-law, this wildly engaging British import has been packing them in at the art houses.

– “Dreamgirls”: A 20-minute sneak preview had audiences cheering at this splashy musical in the “Chicago” mode. Jamie Foxx, following his 2005 best actor Oscar, and Beyoncé Knowles are said to make beautiful music together.

– “Little Miss Sunshine”: This little indie that could is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Audiences have embraced it to the tune of $60 million, and even hardened Academy voters can’t be immune to its considerable charm. It is this year’s “Lost in Translation” and “Sideways.”

In the running:

– “The Last King of Scotland”: Well worth a nomination, it may be hurt by lukewarm box office receipts. Audiences don’t know what they’re missing.

– “Little Children”: Another brilliant piece of filmmaking that isn’t getting the reception it deserves. Hopefully Academy members will appreciate the amazing craft it’s been made with.

– “The Illusionist”: Could be at a disadvantage for coming out so early in the year. On the other hand, it’s taken in a tidy sum and is being marketed by the same group behind “Crash.”

– “Flags of Our Fathers”: The Academy’s respect for director Clint Eastwood could offset mixed reviews and a disappointing audience response.

– “The Good German”: The combination of George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh demands Academy attention, and those “Casablanca” inspired posters are garnering lots of buzz.

– “The Good Shepherd”: Two pictures with “good” in the title may be too much of a good thing. This one has Robert De Niro going for it, not just as a co-star, but also as director.

– “Borat”: Definitely a long shot, but then what were the odds of a mockumentary about a Kazakhstani TV reporter who manages to offend just about everybody even getting made?

BEST DIRECTOR
Most likely: Martin Scorsese for “The Departed”; Alejandro González Inárritu for “Babel”; Steven Soderbergh for “The Good German”; Todd Field for “Little Children”; Clint Eastwood for “Flags of Our Fathers”; Bill Condon for “Dreamgirls”; Stephen Frears for “The Queen.”

In the running: Kevin Macdonald for “The Last King of Scotland”; Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris for “Little Miss Sunshine”; Alfonso Cuarón for “Children of Men”; Pedro Almodóvar for “Volver”; Spike Lee for “Inside Man”; Edward Zwick for “Blood Diamond”; Christopher Nolan for “The Prestige.”

BEST ACTOR
This field would be even more crowded if it weren’t for the fact that several studios, inspired by George Clooney’s win last year for “Syriana,” have decided to pitch their heavy hitters in the supporting actor category.

Most likely:

– Forest Whitaker: His amazing rendition of Idi Amin in “Last King of Scotland” makes him the automatic frontrunner, especially if a nomination convinces people to go see his movie.

– Jamie Foxx: He’s said to hit all the high notes as a Berry Gordy-like manager who propels a trio of girl singers into superstars in “Dreamgirls.”

– Leonardo DiCaprio: Buzz is that Leo gives the performance of his career in “Blood Diamond” as a South African mercenary.

– Ben Affleck: His top prize at Venice may help fuel a nomination for “Hollywoodland.”

– Christian Bale: Critics have praised him in “Rescue Dawn.” His chances are improved by a strong showing in “The Prestige” as well.

– Peter O’Toole: His turn as a horny once-famous actor in “Venus” enthralled festival audiences.

– Will Smith: Completely winning as a salesman and single dad who winds up homeless on the streets of San Francisco in “The Pursuit of Happyness.”

In the running: Matt Damon for “The Good Shepherd”; Ryan Gosling for “Half Nelson”; Richard Griffiths for “The History Boys,” which already netted him a Tony award for the theatrical version; Guy Pearce for “Factory Girl”; Edward Norton for “The Illusionist”; Ed Harris for “Copying Beethoven”; Will Ferrell for “Stranger Than Fiction.”

BEST ACTRESS
Two Brits are the main competitors among this abundance of talent.

Most likely:

– Helen Mirren: Almost surely to win an Oscar to go along with her crown in “The Queen.”

– Kate Winslet: Unless Winslet scores an upset as an uptight American housewife who discovers lust in the suburbs in “Little Children.”

– Meryl Streep: Never count out this perennial Oscar nominee who was so stylishly cool in “The Devil Wears Prada.”

– Annette Bening: She’s frightfully good as a frustrated writer and horrible mother in “Running With Scissors,” but her role isn’t that different from her character in “American Beauty.”

– Penelope Cruz: Speaking in her native Spanish, she’s a revelation in “Volver” as a sacrificing mother a la Mildred Pierce.

– Cate Blanchett: She’s said to act up a storm as George Clooney’s old flame in the World War II drama “The Good German.”

In the running: Naomi Watts for “The Painted Veil”; Judi Dench for “Notes on a Scandal”; Julie Christie for “Away From Her”; Keisha Castle-Hughes for “The Nativity Story”; Maggie Gyllenhaal for “Sherrybaby.”

This category has rarely been as competitive because so many actors from the same movie are being pushed as nominees. The studio behind “The Departed” decided to enter all its big names, although DiCaprio and Damon clearly have the dominant roles.

Most likely: “The Lives of Others,” Germany; “Volver,” Spain; “After the Wedding,” Denmark; “Black Book,” the Netherlands; “Pan’s Labyrinth,” Mexico.

In the running: “Water,” Canada; “Avenue Montaigne,” France.

No she shouldn’t have. Even I bought into that one awhile back, but how naive, not in the best interest of the child, and actually sexist to believe that a a female having child will make everything alright in a couples world. It would have been simply a bandaid covering their issues.

Look at how Brad & Angelina are raising their kids. Read what Brad has said about how he wants to bring them up and then for the moment. Now put Jennifer Aniston in the mother seat along with the lifestyle she seems to prefer for herself, and one that is her right to have. Do you see where I’m going here?

Watching LOVE RIDE which is about Brad & Angelina, anyway, I had no idea that Angelina was with Jonny Lee Miller, they brokeup and thats when she was with Jenny Shimizu, and then brokeup with her and went back to Jonny. I had always thought Jenny was between Jonny and Billy. Also, I didn’t realize that Brad and Juliette Lewis were together 4yrs. ALSO, did anyone know that George Clooney auditioned for the Thelma & Louise part that “eventually” went to Brad? By eventually I mean that first Billy Baldwin got the part but dropped out for another movie, then two other actors, the same thing happened (forgot which two), and then finally BP was called. Cool show LOVE RIDE. Also the show says that at the 2002 Golden Globe awards, AJ & BBT were seated right in view of BP & JA as their tables were right across from each other!

BUT ITS NOT MY FAULT. I CANT HELP IT. No, truly, I am a victim of her PR manipulation. Just when I think I can delink Jennifer from Brad and Angelina, then bam, she gives an interview and talks about her break up woes - 2 years after the separation. Like her interview about her YOGA DVD.

How can I stop talking about her when she keeps thrusting her ex relationship and break up into my face. She really ought to just stop talking about her break up. I can’t help be a victim of her PR manipulation. She’s such a master of PR manipulation. I’m so sick of her but I can’t stop looking at her photos or clicking on her links or checking out the story about her tragic break up which led to this outpouring of enormous creativity now taped for perpetuity in the YOGA DVD. Before he ever went to work on MAMS, Brad & Angelina were apart a whole 9….NINE….NUEVE….months! I always thought it was 6 months, and I always assumed that they at least saw each other during this time fairly regular, but noooooo, nope. They were apart 9 whole months. I’m sure they communicated somehow, but it was far and apart.

from the grapevine…… recall the last rumor floating around that JA supposedly was in talk with Nike for some promo or ad ? Well, there was some truth in it . Apparently, she and her publicist wanted to “convince” Nike that she is the right wo-man to representing Nike and and Nike apparel for the yoga promo. They also wanted Nike to endorse the Yoga dvd.

Well .. nothing got out of the talk. It’s a relieve that Nike has more taste in people who they choose to associate their brand name . What came out of that discuss - JA received some “consolation” nike apparel to wear for free in her yoga dvd. LOL

I’m curious , why do half of the media thought Brad and JA marger were the most perfect couple or golden couple ? aside from the same blonde highlight and love of marlboro light , they don’t seem to share the same interest. They don’t even have kid in the 4 and half year of marriage. that’s not perfect! A marriage without kid is not perfect !!! And I don’t think JA love Brad more than the wayAngie love Brad. I think if you love your hubby so much and committed to spend the rest of your life with him. It’s very common you would tried to have an offspring together ( an example is the flourishing of fertility clinic all over the world). sharing the joy and watching your kid grow is one of the most satisfaction in life. she married Brad at age of 31 and Brad 36 y/o, both are not young anymore. I’m sure if they are still together, Brad will still be childless. JA is too selfish and love herself more than anyone else. She’ll be 38 in another few months, with history of chain smoking and possible coke, her fertility is sinking as fast as her career. need a lot of work if she really want an offspring.

How can I stop talking about her when she keeps thrusting her ex relationship and break up into my face. She really ought to just stop talking about her break up. I can’t help be a victim of her PR manipulation. She’s such a master of PR manipulation. I’m so sick of her but I can’t stop looking at her photos or clicking on her links or checking out the story about her tragic break up which led to this outpouring of enormous creativity now taped for perpetuity in the YOGA DVD. It’s all her fault, I’m just an innocent victim. I have no control. Poor poor me.

Believe me, flying first class on international flights to Malta,on say British airways or Virgin Airways - well, your holiday starts on the plane, waited on hand and foot, complete with a masseuse if you fly Virgin. Of course, they are busy and lack the time to be together but if you care for the relationship, you make the time, you make the effort. Change your schedules, what ever. Seems like they just didn’t care. They lost each other. But he appears to have learnt from this mistake and makes great effort to be with his family.

They were separated for 9 months in 2003, how about 2004 ? Brad busy filming MMSmith, OC12, promoting Troy. while his X busy filming her 3 flop movies. They were together for coulple of weeks in Troy premier in NYC and Cannes , and share a week of vaca.in Italy. I guest they were separated for almost 11 months in 2004. and people called this a perfect marriage? So JA knew the divorce is coming and ultimate. I’m glad the truth is slowly coming out. Angie need a public Apology from the media.

E! is WRONG.

Brad went to Malta on May 3rd, came home on July 10th. That’s 2 months & a week. But Maniston visited him in Malta for 1 week, so make it an even 2 months apart.

Then Brad filmed in Mexico from July 20th until late September. But Maniston was with him in Mexico until the end of July. So make that an even 2 months.

Then Brad filmed a week or two in Mexico in December after his achilles injury finally healed up.

So they were actually apart for 4/5 months, not 9.

Just wanted to point out the facts & that E! was wrong, but that doesn’t change the fact that he & Maniston were going through problems.

I had to walk away from post-dinner conversation on Thanksgiving (luckily with two non-related guests) when conversation about films turned ugly — first trashing Brad as an actor — which I tried to debate (everyone’s entitled to his/her opinion on movies after all). But then one of them opined that AJ was a s—. I was so outraged I was unable to respond with reason, I wanted to punch her. So in order not to ruin everyone’s good time, I went to another place to have my coffee.

I do not understand why people are so judgmental about these two. I am a long time AJ fan, and am an adoptive mom. I am sure that there are people who have issues with my choices, but really, they are not in my shoes — much less the flip flops of La Jolie.

E! is clearly in the bet-hedging business. They have overall been pretty pro-X and have felt free to snark on the JPs. But they screwed up by having the trespassers on their payroll, and as the cover above states: “Get on the JP love train or get left in the dust in 2007″

IMHO, Brad gets an oscar nom, they both walk the red carpet. They don’t have to chit the chat, but these are two pros, and Jolie is an Oscar winner. The GGs will be a more interesting bet — Babel is almost certain to be nommed as a film (and a strong frontrunner to win with the HFP), and people sit with their projects. Spouses do not always go, but again Jolie has 3 GGs, and I’m sure that if Brad is nommed for an acting award, HFP will do everything in their power to get them both front and center. I think they took 2006 for their family, and 2007 will be about professional wrld domination!!

Hello Artemis, glad to hear another BAMZS Canadian fan from this thread. So you’re from Vancouver. My sister used to live in Surrey & now they move back here in the Toronto area. One of my friends bought a house in Salt Springs Island & we are planning to visit it sometime next year if time permits us. My cousin also live in Port Coquitlam area. I only visited Vancouver once 12 years ago. Would love to visit again. Firstly, I am a fan of Angelina Jolie first & foremost. I adored here when I saw Gia. About Brad I am not too keen on him but since they hooked-up I saw in him his dedication to Angelina & the kids & truly behind him now.

I think what makes Brad so much sexier now is the fact that he’s not only absolutely gorgeous, and has always been, but that he is with Angelina who is his equal in physical beauty and they share this amazing love for life and for people of all races. These two are so interesting, fascinating, intriguing and I have said this before in other threads in other sites where most haters dare to post, I tell these haters that they’re just so obsessed with this two that they cannot help themselves but to express their emotions, hatred and jelousy towards B&A because, again, their obsession. Brad and Angie are truly amazing people. I have always been a fan of Brad and always thought he was the sexiest man in Hollywood, I thought AJ was beautiful and I always thought they were the most beautiful people in Hollywood and thought they should get together and always wondered what if they get together, but one thing I never imagined was how good people these two were, I never imagined they would do so much for the world, I admire them so much now. God bless them for all their humanitarian work they do and for adopting children from less previleged countries. Brad and Angelina are a true inspiration. Love them.

My advice: Next time politely say: “I think it is sexist to call women a s—” “I also think on a day like Thanksgiving we should think about not being judgemental of anyone. We do not know Angelina therefore we cannot judge. Only God judges”.

And then walk away. Let their conscience make them think.

And I do believe words like **** are incredibly sexist - there is not a male equivalent because men can be sexual and it is ok as far as society is concerned.

I think Angelina is an independent free spirit and we need more of that in women.

I always check your site first before I go to the others since TMZ and PerezHilton have hundreds of Brangelina haters commenting with the most hideous words especially at PerezHilton site. I must confess that I was not an original Brad Pitt fan but when I saw him with Angie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, I was so flabergasted. They were so hot on the screen. If you have the unrated version, it shows the behind the scenes gag reel and extended love scenes. I wish them well and good things in 2007. Hope he wins the Oscar title. Then he can joke with George Clooney about it. I have also seen the pictures of “fate” at the row of seats. Can’t believe, Brad & Angie did not meet right after Brad was done with Gwen. Did you know Brad met Jen on a blind date? Their managers arranged the dinner date.

I’ve watched my Unrated MAMS dvd about a million times already. Every time you watch it you pick up more details that make it even more hot. For example, during the sex scene Brad grabs Angie’s boob when she is on the dressing table. I never noticed it until I watched it on my new computer which has an extra wide screen. For some reason the picture is formatted to it, revealing more from the sides. Like when Brad is biting Angie’s shoulder she grabs his wrist and slams his hand down. In the next scene when he is doing the naughty business in her “area”, the hand farthest from the camera is on the table to hold it steady and then under her dress, which is why the table shakes because he lets go. I don’t want to divulge any more because I might get censored by justjared, lol. There is something Brad does that is very raunchy but I’m embarassed to say it. Angelina wasn’t hollering for nothing!

I also love the behind the scenes of the Bogota dance. It’s so funny because at times Brad acted so shy around her. Like he would just stand there and kind of stare at the floor when she was dancing. I noticed he would put his hands in front of him too. My friend joked that he was covering something up, lol- you guess what she meant. I think the Bogota scenes were where Brad first fell for Angie. I love when he puts his hand over her heart when they are dancing. And the way they press their faces close together and kiss but not kiss.

Hi HunnyBunny. Sorry to hear the “Rumor Has It” incident. I remember my co-worker always lend me movies she down-loaded on the Internet & among the movies she got was Derailed. I accepted the DVD since it has other movies in the DVD as well. But I skipped the movie Derailed. I do not want to waste my time watching JA movies. Or if I hear some people commenting about JA sympathy I just leave the conversation area unless they get nasty towards Brad & Angelina.

I think the reason a lot of people are so upset about it is because the “other” woman involved is Angelina Jolie the former wild child actress BUT if the she is a girl-next-door type of a woman…I am sure the people will be upset but eventually they will embrace Brad & the girl-nex-door Angelina & might even blame JA for the demise of the divorce.

Also, JA talked to Vanity Fair which I think inflamed the anger from her fans. Look at REESE WITHERSPOON…she’s not saying anything to the media because she knows what will happen & now nobody’s talking about them. People left them.

And finally, I think the media & haters are doing their best to put pressure on them because they realized that the relationship Brad & Angelina build will eventually last & they are doing their very best to undermine it. And she deserves it too — Reese W and Kate H (both A-listers) have not had any interviews about their divorces, and I don’t think they ever would. Nicole K never did either. Only JA did, and look what it spawned — a whole weblog devoted to her and denigrating BA (FF) and other blogs with very mean posters who kept predicting the demise of BA. Although now they move their timeline — before it was only 6 months, then a year, now they are saying two years, three years — ha ha ha. Pretty soon they will say — oh, in 10 years Brad and Angelina will separate.

Hollywood, CA (AHN) - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have caused some controversy since filming “A Mighty Heart” in India.

However, despite some media backlash, the superstar couple have been given the seal of approval by Judea Pearl.

Patty, truth is that fanistons create these ficticous stories on female first because almost two years later, they still have not learned to move on and let go of their bitterness. Brad himself said recently that his life was going nowhere before and now he has a purpose. Honestly, this kind of thinking really ticks me off. People seem to have this idea of Brad Pitt as some baby faced, scrubbed, milk, cookies and apple pie, A- sexual, vanilla person.

Pitt has lived a life. He’s been around the block and back and is no cherubic angel himself. He’s gone from living with Juliette Lewis when she was just 16 yrs old, to his own admitted drug usage, dating outside his race, making edgy films, getting married and divorced, etc, etc.

The weekly entertainment magazine cites a chatty friend of the couple that dishes that Brad has pledged to Angie that no matter where the couple is - he will always call and tell her goodnight.

That certainly has to be a trick with the whole timezone thing. Earlier this month, Brad was in Los Angeles while Jolie was half a world away filming in India.

Nonetheless the friend dishes that Brad, 42, told the pal that he can’t fall asleep without talking to Angelina, 31 even if they are thousands of miles (and several timezones) apart.

I think Angie’s bisexuality makes her even more beautiful. To me, it shows she has a beautiful, pure spirit that is able to see right past the exterior and into the interior of a person. I totally believe what has been written about her that says she is not about what a person looks like. Her relationship with Jenny was something that she needed to experience at that time, and I feel like she truly fell in love with a PERSON, not a sex. Anne Hache was given hell about this very thing when she said it of Ellen, but I do agree you can fall in love with a person, no matter what their sex, and if that person is very open-minded and in touch with deep parts of their soul, they may act on those feelings. Most of us just keep our “girl crushes” or “guy crushes” to ourselves and never take it that far. Jenny is hard-edged and rebellious, and no matter what any of us may think of her, Angie was attracted to something inside Jenny, not what she looked like. Angie wanted to be wild and unfettered for a time, and it has shaped who she is today. She can say she has truly been there, done that. The same could be said for BBT. BBT really was speaking the truth when he said that Angie didn’t go for “pretty boys like Brad Pitt”.

As for Brad, when she met him, the barrier of his marriage kept them on a platonic level for a long time, so they really got a chance to know each other as people, even though they were attracted to each other physically. Angie, true to form, probably really did want to know the real person that is Brad, not the exterior. For Brad, I am sure that was as refreshing lemonade in the desert for him. He showed her who he really was, and she loved him anyway. He didn’t have to keep up the Golden Boy image for her. Brad has some pretty gothic tendencies as well.

Angie, too, was completely true to her own spirit, she put all of herself out there to him, and he loved her anyway. Maybe she even wanted to see if her true nature would scare him off. Obviously, he passed that test, haha!!

I wouldn’t really classify Angelina as bi-sexual. She had a relationship when she was 19/20 yrs old with Jenny. She’s no different then a lot of girls that age who go off to collage and experience the same.

If Angelina wanted to live a bi-sexual lifestyle she would of. The fact is, she hasn’t. Also, during that time she was on drugs and Jenny is a known drug addict. Same goes for her behavior during the BBT time. She had to clean her act up for training on TR and that’s when Angelina began to change. HunnyBunny, I can so empathize with you re having a discussion with others who are so totally against B&A. I swear I must be one of a very miniscule Minivan Minority, who love them. I too am a Gemini and we do seem to be a fickle independent group. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Each must learn to be patient and see things through. Whether a person is bi, hetero or homo, once they meet the person (male or female) they feel they want to commit to for the rest of their lives, they are just a monogamous as anybody else. People come in and out of your life, and right now Angie is committed to Brad, who happens to be male. I agree that Angie does seem to have stronger attraction to men.

Also, “Actually”, I do agree with you that some lesbians are ticked with Angie for staying on their “team” (man I hate this “team” ****), but I don’t think Angie ever defined herself that way in the first place. For her, it was just about the person, not making a huge social statement.
