George Clooney Rags on Brad Pitt
George Clooney playfully ragged on good friend Brad Pitt on last night’s The Late Show with David Letterman. George knocked Brad for also winning the title of “People’s Sexiest Man” twice. George joked of Brad: “He was a little upset. It sort of knocked his thing down a notch.”
Brad congratulated George’s win by taking out full-page ads in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, which read:
Dear George,
Congratulations on being People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.
[insert cornball picture of George from 1985]
Your Friend,
“The Reverend Ted”
Yes, it’s in reference to that Ted. The Ted Haggard who was guilty of “sexually immoral conduct” and ex-pastor of mega-church New Life Church.
George retaliated on Letterman by showing old school pictures of Brad wearing tapered pants and a beret. Above is George imitating one of Brad’s cheesy poses.
George also joked of Matt Damon: “We felt bad for Matt Damon because he really wanted it. He campaigned hard for it but we think he just came up short.”

i know brad waving on the freeway -too funny!
Deena,
I’m so totally feeling what your’re saying. GC’s jokes always seem to make the same inferrences and references. BP’s jokes, with exception to Variety Ad., if in fact BP made have not had the consistency as GC. GC’s immature and inconsiderate pranks can’t continue to disregard those in BP’s life. GC doesn’t have the family circle as BP or MD. GC should choose a different tone. Didn’t Mark Wahlberg, a former pal, stop him from these specific jokes.
Clooney is also a DRUNK
—————————————————–
Yeah, out drinking with Danny DeVito. DeVito was so smashed on The View today
LOL!!!
I just watched the Letterman clip, and IMO, it was hilarious and completely harmless. I especially liked when the band played ‘You Sexy Thing’ when they showed Clooney’s old pic. To be honest, the lyric ‘I believe in miracles’ kept coming to mind when I looked at that pic.
First, thank you JJ for this coverage. I saw the show last night from beginning to end. I also want to praise all the writers who wrote their comments here for their knowldege and assessment of George and Brad. In my humble opinion, since these two actors are in the public eye, anything they do to each other will be under praise or scrutiny by their own fans or haters. I also read somewhere, that when they were filming “Ocean’s 12,” it must have been a slow day, George placed a bumper sticker on Brad’s car that reads “Small ***** on board.” According to Matt Damon, Brad drove the car for weeks, and he keeps on noticing people laughing at him. He thought for a while that people do that and recognized him as Brad (the movie star) until he found out the sticker. So, he planned a revenge joke with Matt as a partner and wrote a memo to the staff of “Ocean’s 12″ and I can’t remember what the memo said. I read this bit a while back. This is the kind of relationship they have on the set. Since Matt has Ben Affleck, George has Brad. Humor is the best medicine.

I love Leonardo something serious! That boy is just a doll IMO. His eyes do his acting for him and I love it.

I got a mag. on Star Fright today:
Johnny Depp and “Diddy’ freak out when they see clowns.
Clin Farell , JA and BBT panic when they board a plane.
David Beckham fears disoder - each shirt in his closet is hung according to color and soda cans in his refrigerator must be perfectly lined up.
Tyra Banks has a fear of dolphins.
Man, I didn’t realize the hate on some of you have for George! Seriously, I knew PT didn’t like him much, and gitane wasn’t a fan, but you guys make the man sound downright diabolical, evil, fake, unnattractive and just ewwww!
I’m not in love with the man, and I don’t find him to die for attractive but I also don’t find him hard on the eyes, or nerves. I DO like his sense of humor “always have.” I think he’s charming, funny, and a nice guy.
I’m leaving this subject alone until I get some AG backup! lol

I remember hearing that Brad, secretly, sent out a memo to the crew stating that, under no circumstances were they to talk to or make eye contact with Clooney.
My reaction to GC last night was so simple, that I laughed out loud. I did not read alot into it. I thought how cool it was for Brad to take out a full page ad to tease his friend about being named the Sexiest Man Alive…..My take about George teasing Matt and Brad was that is was all in good fun….like they have respect for one another, but know where to draw the boundaries when the personal lives of each other come up.
It was just late night entertainment, meant to lull us into a sleep, not to launch long debates about the levels of friendships, coat tails,etc….. This is just for fun, isn’t it?
Love both GC and BAMZS, so please don’t shoot bulets back at me. Haven’t we run the minivan debate off the chart? Life is good…relax..
I will not judge GC because I was never a loyal fan of him and I don’t know much about him.And actually I don’t find anything wrong in what he did.He made a harmless joke on T.V about Brad and Matt. And as so many people already said they where ALWAYS joking and making fun of each other. From the day they met in O11 set.And they also said all the jokes they made on their interviews.Nothing new here. It’s not like they had a contract that said that every joke they are making is going to be private and GC broke their agreement. And I find it very genuine and refreshing for three Hollywood A-listers around their forties to not take them selves so seriously and be able to put some sarcasm of how they are perceived.
I don’t know how close Brad and George are apart from their buissiness but all I know is that they only have great things to say for each other. And Brad is always answering his jokes back with a hillarious way!! He is a clown! So if Brad has not any problem with it why should I???
Anyway thanks everyone for the quotes of their interviews!! Funny stuff!!
I meant “laughter” is the best medicine. Sorry folks!
I’m watching (as I do every wed if able) Michael Palin’s show on The Travel Channel. His series this time is about the Himalaya’s, and he’s this segment in Pakistan. From what I’ve seen in just these 25minutes, I don’t know A Mighty Heart could have been filmed there successfully. Although covering isnt law, there is social pressure to at least have a headscarf always. How could AJ have even been able to depict Marianne Pearl under those circumstances. Watching this show, India might have had it’s headaches, but after watching this, I think it was a wise decision.

So many great posts.
Agree with the power and corruption view of the 67 Human Rights organisations challenging the adoption. I just hope the best interests of the David Banda and all the little orphan children will be in the forefront of eveyone.
There are 2 types of corruption to my mind. Both are related but not the same.
There is corruption that inevitably involves MONEY. Money Corruption is rife in Malawi as it is in many countried in the world. When you have money corruption, it is in the interests of anyone who can exercise even a little bit of power, to ADD TO THE RED TAPE and obscurity of the laws. This means that who ever is trying to negotiate her way through the laws have to pay and pay at every level. The civil servants don’t think they need to serve the people, they see their jobs as one of entitlement to payment. Once this sort of thinking sets in it becomes very hard to change the feeling of entitlement.
Then there is POWER CORRUPTION. Of course, you see this in countries with MONEY Corruption. However, you can get POWER Corruption even in relatively financially uncorrupted countries like Australia, UK and US. At this point, I’d like to make a comment about Ritzygal. She has gone on record to boast that she has access to levers of power that are unavailable to the likes of us. If true, her boasts reveals a type of thinking. In POWER corruption, money isn’t the reward but PRIVILEGE is. Privilege in the form of MORE Power, to get something that “ordinary” mortals can’t get or to get away with thing and actions which “ordinary” people cant get away with. There is a saying “POWER CORRUPTS, AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY”. To me, shitzygal’s boast was about access to the levers of power and the “privileges” it could get her.
I’ve met some wonderful leaders in my life. These leaders have power, in the organisation and/or within the community. They are wonderful leaders because they are very very conscious that POWER leads to RESPONSIBILITY, not PRIVILEGE. None of these people would even boast about the power they truly wield - even in an anonymous blog such as this.
I’m not saying that Madonna and Guy followed all the rules - I don’t know what happened and it will be interesting to see what comes out of this case. Madonna’s claim that there were NO RULES is probably not true but it may be true to say there were NO CLEAR RULES. (see point about Money Corruption - no clear rules but lots of rules= lots of opportunities to make money in bribes).

People have commented on why Angelina won’t adopt from the US. Personally, if I were a famous and rich celebrity, I wouldn’t adopt any child other then an orphan. Imagine if Angelina and Brad were to adopt a child who had been given up for adoption. The press and the discussions would be full of - why can’t Angelina and Brad just give money to the natural family so they can support the child financially, or give money to the parents/ grandparents/ aunties and uncles to support the child so he/she stays with his/her natural family etc. etc. We’ve already seen that discussion take place in relation to David Banda and his father - never mind that the reality is that the father didn’t want his son, just like Jon Voight chose to leave his family. Children get abandoned every day, not because of financial concerns but because the parents simply DON’T LOVE THE CHILD. PERIOD.

In response to an earlier rebuttal who claimed I was tearing up women who supported Jennifer by saying that they had a victim mentality. I just want to say, I’ve read many times whiners who say:
(a) Angelina stole Brad away: meaning: Jennifer was a victim of theft
(b) Brad cheated with Angelina: meaning: Jennifer was a victim of a cheat.
And the best one I’ve read is this woman who wrote in effect that it was OK for Brad and Angelina but that their happiness was at the EXPENSE OF Jennifer - who presumably, never consented to pay the price of Brad and Angelina’s happiness - which makes Jennifer yet again, a victim of forces beyond her control, paying for the happiness of someone else. Like, is that a victim mentality or what??
What is a victim, a person without control. If someone threatens me and holds me up and grabs my purse, I’m a victim. Victims happen.
What is a person with a victim mentality? Someone who persists in remaining a victim - whose actions and thoughts are greatly defined by the event. So by way of example, I have a victim mentality if I am fearful of leaving my home because I was mugged once. I see a threat everywhere - every stranger who approaches me causes me to flinch.
So, even if Angelina stole Brad or Brad cheated (- both events I’m happy to refute unless evidence shows up to prove it,) Jennifer has a victim mentality if he or she continues to be defined by the “theft” or “cheating”. See the latest example - she talks about recovering from her painful break up with Brad to sell a stupid YOGA DVD. See what I mean by defining herself by the Break Up?? See how it makes her a victim? And if you think Jennifer is still a victim, 2years and 3 kids after the legal separation, then, doesn’t that mean you also have a victim mentality? Otherwise, you’d be saying - OK, SH** happens, move on already.
I might add that the fact that Jennifer fans find the need to have someone to blame for teh Break Up (- other then Jennifer,) also tells me that those fans of hers have a victim mentality. It’s saying Jennifer had no control. She stood by and watched her husband being STOLEN away from her because she was so nice and sweet and kind??? LOL. Most B&A fans would say, there’s fault on both sides but what we don’t like about Jennifer is how she tries to place all the blame on her husband and Angelina - see VF interview and others.
Before my daughter was born, my husband and I had a 2 career household. My job required me to travel every week. But my husband and I made it a point to be apart no more then 10 days, preferably no more then 5 or 6 days apart. So, whereever I was in Asia, most weeks, I flew out on Sunday evening or early monday morning and flew home on Friday evening. Many of those flights were on the Friday night red eye, 7 hours in economy (company rules were, no travel on business class unless flights were more then 8 hours), 4 hours of sleep, to get home for Saturday morning. Then back again for sunday night. And Ms Aniston had to force herself to fly first class to Malta to visit her husband?? For a holiday??? HELLO???? LOL. No wonder Jennifer lost Brad.
Dear Lylian, I agree many good posts. I really liked yours
the best. I can’t help but despise “cry me a river” Anniston.
I love Angelina and Brad and wish them the best. I love
the way they are always travelling together. he never did
that with the ex.
I’m still giggly from the Letterman clip. Assuming that Shiloh will continue to resemble Brad, I think that she should cop his 80s look for a Halloween costume, preferably when she’s in her teens or 20s.
Re: Clooney and Devito
Initially, it would seem surreal, but I can totally picture Clooney and Devito partying together. From all accounts, Devito’s a great guy despite his many years in HW. I do wonder if Rhea had a Posh Spice moment, forbidding Devito from partying with Clooney because of his influence.

from us mag ( talking about nicole kidman)
…… when it came to Nicole Kidman. On the one hand, she’s exquisite and talented………….she handled the divorce with such grace. And when Tom Cruise freaked out this year, she had the class to stay mum on the whole thing, not even to offer a smug…….
““`
nicole kidman channelled her energy into movies….and eventually won her oscar.
she never BADMOUTHED her ex.
And don’t give me the cr*p about how she has a fear of flying. She has a fear of flying alright - but in the Erica Jong sense. Otherwise, she can fly to Chicago, NY, Mexico, etc. (I’m assuming she isn’t driving or catching the Greyhound or AMTrek). Obviously, she’s not that frightened when her JOB or her own INTERESTS take her on flights out of LAX. Anyway, you can always take sleeping pills to calm yourself down and knock yourself out most of the flight. And man, when you are flying Virgin or British Airways, first class, you lie flat and SLEEP.

I recall that there was a recent trip to Australia for promotional purposes.
Aniston’s “fear of flying” is an excuse. This woman does not own responsibility on her mistakes. The movie Derailed is filmed in London. Well, she had no problem filming (and flying to location) that movie overseas !!!.
She should look at the divorce as a good thing . One positive thing is the pressure is off. She does not have to go to the media and lie about “a baby”. She doesnt have to come up with excuses to her husband about starting a family.
Indie - I see your point and yes I am aware that not all people dislike Angelina. However, I can’t help but wonder and feel for her in her first live show appearence on a talk show or Oprah. Projecting here..sure… but still I don’t think I am the only one who feel this way.
I also didn’t intend to offend all the moms here. So, sorry. That aint me.

Hey guys, I just wanted to add something about the cast of the Ocean movie joking w/ each other. While promoting Crash Don Cheadle appeared on Late Night w/ Conan O’Brien. He talked about the filming of Ocean’s 12 and he said that when they shot in Amsterdam Brad had a great time when they went to a cafe…….so much that they couldn’t find him for awhile lol But from the look on his face and the tone of his voice you could tell that he was kidding. Oh and he also said that his whole family stayed in George’s villa…and that they trashed the place :) Like Brad and Angie he is not legally married to his wife Bridgid but they have two kids together and he does call her his wife. Today’s his birthday too, happy 42nd birthday Don!
