Hi! I will read your email after I post this — I am fine, thank you, but I don’t look forward to going home. An officemate of mine just called and said she couldn’t make it on the icy Eisenhower Expressway, she was slipping and sliding so she just went back home and went back to bed. Hopefully, by the time I go home at 7:00 a.m. (2 hours from now), the streets will be salted and de-iced. I take the train so it shouldn’t be too bad, but I still have to walk to the train station.

I hate to be one to bring back a cheesy fad from the 1990s, but does anyone remember those WWJD? bracelets? They were the in thing to sport on your wrist years before Livestrong came along.

I think the WWJD? bracelets wound up being more of a fashion statement than a statement of faith, but I would like to propose we revisit this overused phrase for a moment: What would Jesus do?

I am a Christian. I have been for quite some time. However, I am having more and more of an issue with some of my fellow Christians, specifically those often in the spotlight pushing political agendas and how they are portraying us as a people. I am afraid that a large portion of the United States, not to mention the rest of the world, might view us Christians as, well, mean.

Whenever I see a Christian leader on the news, it is most often to speak out against same-sex marriages, against abortion or against stem-cell research. I’m not saying these things are good or bad, but do we really need to spend our time and energy telling people how wrong they are, and lobbying to restrict their rights?

Here’s where I think the WWJD? bracelet might come in handy. Let’s take a look at what Jesus spent his time and energy on. As I recall, he dined with sinners, invited a tax-collector to be one of his disciples, protected an adulteress from execution, and healed the sick. In fact, most of his harsh words were reserved for the pious religious leaders regarding their hypocrisy.

Jesus is all about compassion, and that’s where I think we may be missing the boat. There are children dying of AIDS in Africa. Men and women are being sold as slaves in many parts of the world. Entire ethnic groups are being murdered in Darfur. Families are starving in our own nation, even in our own community. These are the things on which the people of God should spend their time and energy.

When I listen to national Christian leaders, I often hear hateful words, and I am fed the message of intolerance for my fellow man. When I look for leaders in the fight for social justice, I see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, George Clooney and Bono.

Don’t get me wrong, there are countless Christian pastors, Christian churches, and Christian organizations that are fully committed to loving, as Jesus would call them, “the least of these.” These are my role models. It is unfortunate that the outspokenness of some can overshadow the good being done by others.

When a friend of mine, who is gay, discovered early on in our friendship that I am a Christian, he said, “I never would have guessed that you’re a Christian. You’re a lot nicer that I imagined Christians being.” I laughed, and asked, “Why would you think Christian’s aren’t nice?” He replied, “Well, I thought all Christians hated gay people.”

Wow. Talk about heartbreaking. To hate another human being goes against everything Jesus taught, and yet that is what many people think of us.

Loving people does not require endorsing their choices. Loving people is in fact our No 2 commandment from the big guy. It is what we are to do here on earth. I would like to challenge us all to make loving others our No. 1 priority. Let’s leave the judging up to God.

To the writer named Good article - in response to your post I just want to point out that no one can love anyone unless they have the Spirit of Christ residing in them by the Holy Spirit. They may appear to love others and do great things but the reality is it is very selfish - a major motiviation is that it makes them feel good and in some ways puts them on the selfrighteous path. The main difference between Christianity and other religions is “self”. Christianity is an exchanged life - Christ’s life for ours. Whereas all other religions focus on self experession and self improvement true Christianitys focus is Christ “I must decreas and He must increase”. Push someone’s sacred cow or button of any nature and as sure as anything the other side of the sugar plum fairy will raise his/her ugly head. I am not saying that all these celebrity givers are motiviate by the wrong spirit - some are and some are not - some are mixing things up - I am not the judge but as Christians we are called to “test the spirts”. By the same token some people who call themselves Christians and speak from public podiums may not be what they say they are (Clergy included) - they are not necessarily being motivated by the right spirit. That being said I do thank God for the givers of the world they are shedding light on some really bad situations.

Yes I know that many things can be changed but the Assassination Of Jesse James was listed for years also and it finally got made.

And as for the physical toll Brad may have to lose some pounds to do it but I don’t think he would mind. He was never afraid to transform him self if the role he is playing commands it.

Personally I don’t think Brad will remain long in the industry. Possibly he will be active until his 45 years. His Production company is very successful and as he said “he had his days”. I think he will keep producing movies and maybe star in one once in tow years…JMO

To be honest, I have been there and lately even the numbers of hits when it comes to Brangelina has slowed down, the haters are actually a few losers, I remember when every single comment regarding Brangelina would pass the 300 posts, not only there but also in every blog in internet, I really think that 6 months from now (and after Benjamim Button they will probably take a couple of months to rest) even those losers will just get tired, just like I did from X, I don’t go to her forums, don’t post in anything that is about her and just don’t care anymore.
Believe me in a year they will be another super couple (of course they will always be the most hunted, they will be the most beautiful and the most glamour and the most talked about) but I think that when they pass to the third year of relationship people will finally realize that this is a serious family and a serious relationship.
I really believe that part of the fascination of the media is that A LOT of people thought that this was a joke, just a dumb affair and they were awaiting for them crash and burn. But that didn’t happened, I already read several of articles that referees to Brad and Angelina as a family and the novelty aspect is gone (thanks GOD, c’mon people as much as I love them being soooo fascinating, I also wish that they finally get some peace and the media leave them alone, no family deserves the intrusion of privacy that they suffer)

So I’ve read The Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of highest earning actresses and about some in the Top 10 all I can say is: ON WHAT PLANET? Here are my reasons:

1. Nicole Kidman, $16 mil-$17 mil. What she should be earning: -$1 mil. That’s right, I’m saying that Nicole should be paying film companies to hire her, not the other way around. That’s because she’s poison at the box office, the female equivalent of Sean Penn. Women dislike her, men don’t think she’s sexy, and those Chanel ads induce nausea. My guess is this price for Nicole dates back to Sony overpaying her for that bomb Bewitched. Since then, she’s been doing smaller films, but is signing for studio projects right now. Note to majors: save your $$$ and hire Reese or Angelina.

2. Reese Withspoon, $15 mil. What she should be earning: $25 mil. Reese can do no wrong. Women love her, men love her, the camera loves her. And she’s smart: when she was looking for a new agency, she lamented not owning her Legally Blonde character because it’ll be Broadway bound. Which doesn’t mean all her films are great, but she’s always great in them. She opens a movie. ‘Nuff said.

3. Renee Zellweger, $15 mil. What she should be earning: $5 mil. Renee doesn’t open movies, unless the material is Bridget Jones-cloned. She’s fine as the wife or girlfriend, but then her price needs to be cut by a third. Worse, audiences are getting sick of her changing hair color whenever she changes parts. That’s a dye job, not an acting job. Sadly, she’s lost her once winning girl-next-door quality; now she’s trying to be a fashion diva. Ugh.

4. Drew Barrymoore, $15 mil. What she should be asking: $3 mil. Drew has never been able to open a movie, and she never will. That doesn’t mean she isn’t sweet on screen, but lately her roles have been too saccharine. If only she’d bring back that Poison Ivy edginess she once had. Women like her but they don’t want to be her, whereas men don’t think she’s sexy anymore. Drew’s price should go up when she grows up.

5. Cameron Diaz, $15 mil. What she should be asking: $7 mil. Put her in a bikini, and she’s worth it. Put her in a chick flick (In Her Shoes, The Holiday), and she’s not. Everyone finds her sexy, but women don’t like her. (I think it’s jealousy. And not just because of Justin.) Plus, she simply doesn’t have much range as an actress from the neck up.

6. Halle Berry, $14 mil. What she should be asking: $5 mil. Once she lost her shot at launching a new franchise as 007’s Jinx, she lost what should have been her biggest paydays. Alas, she’s now the wrong side of 40, and Hollywood is cruel that way.

7. Charlize Theron, $10 mil. What she should be asking: $10 mil. A smart actress, surrounded by smart people, doing smart roles. Just don’t **** it up with too many vanity projects.

8. Angelina Jolie, $10 mil. What she should be asking: $25 mil. There’s no one hotter right now than Angelina on screen and off. Just ask the stalkarazzi. Unless she starts auditioning for sainthood by making too many message movies. Hopefully, she’s too bad-ass for that.

9. Kirsten Dunst, $8 mil-$10 mil. What she should be asking: $1 mil. Eventually, the Spider-Man franchise will end. Marie Antoinette dying in theaters didn’t help her price. She was an idiot not to star in Bring It On sequels for big bucks. She’s not sexy enough; she won’t age well with audiences. This is a career about to end.

10. Jennifer Aniston, $8 mil. What she should be asking: $1 mil. She’s not a movie star. She’s a TV star. Big difference. Most of all, she’s not an interesting actress. She can’t open a movie, and her choice of material is abysmal. By some fluke, The Break-Up did OK business — because of Vince, and in spite of her. (She was about to leave CAA…) Soon she’ll be lucky to snag the next Lifetime movie.

Yes. This was about the exchange of stars and projects when Brad moved Plan B films to Paramount and Leo to WB. WB had AOTJJ on the back burner and wanted it finished up and in the can as his last project with WB.

In reference to BB being a bomb. Brad’s production company under Paramount will be focused on some very specific types of movies. Huge blockbusters will be few and far between.

Welcome Dina. It is not necessary to introduce yourself, but it is nice for us to be able to “place” people. I’m in Central NY, where we enjoyed one of the nicest Novembers in memory! Why, we even had SUN for days on end! lol currently waiting for winter to hit us next — today it’s high winds and 0.0 thunderstorms!

BB will be an exciting movie, I’m sure. Fincher is always great, the cast is great, the theme is intriguing.

I have to say, that Angelina was not an actress I was familiar with. I never really heard of her, good or bad till Tomb Raider. Any and every guy I knew went off! Angelina Jolie this and Agelina Jolie that. She was to me what Brad was to them.
When she teamed up with Brad in M&MS it made all the sense to me in the world.
Then when they hooked up for real it was like, “I can’t look at both of them at the same time, they’re too bright, like staring at the Sun” Now I can’t get enough of them and I have a LOT to catch up re: Angie and her movies.. I’m getting netflix and I’m going to do my homework. This place is a wealth of information and great “support group” hehehehe.

I concur! I have never gotten Nicole Kidman as an actress. Everytime I see a movie with her in it all is see is NK not the character. Pretty much the same with Aniston and Barrymore.

Reese is fantastic. Loved the Blonde movies and WTL and Sweet A. Cameron Diaz was perfect in The Mask, but after that all I see is her and not the character. Hally Berry doesn’t do it for me. Charlize Theron is a great actress but I don’t get that she is authentic in public; seems very put on. Kirsten Dunst is a good actress but no beauty. Renee Zellwegger I haven’t figured out yet, but I LOVE the Bridget Jones movies mostly because I think Colin Firth is totally HOT.

Oops. sorry ’bout that…but what I wanted to confess is this:

I was previously a JA fan & a vehement BP / AJ hater and have been ever since JA/BP broke up…that was until a few days ago when I read, via TMZ, that when BP & AJ were in one of the many countries they visit, they were very polite people, that they were not the “rude, mean spirited” type of actors but instead very generous (they tipped all the people that waited on them, very well I might add) and insisted to be treated like “everyone else” and that they were no one special.
Not only have they been good people but they use their time and effort towards a good cause…and that shouldn’t be shunned or dismissed or criticized like I have done in the past but commended. I don’t know how to feel about JA, I know that I won’t criticize her because I regret criticizing BP & JA but I’m no longer a member of the bandwagon. I respect these people and hope that they continue to grow their family and spread the love. That’s all for now.
