Thanks Just Jared. Babel is an exceptional Movie. Thanks for the latest Box Office figures. People should take the time to see Babel. It is a complex, emotional Movie with great acting. I hope that BP and other cast members continue to receive award nominations as well as Oscar Nominations. Cate B sounds like a good friend to both BP and AJ. She is also a great actress and deserves to be in “top ten highest paid” over some of the mediocre actresses listed by the Hollywood Reporter.

I have to disagree with you at one point. Brad has made many movies that his performances didn’t require a “pretty boy” image as you called it. Such examples are Fight Club Twelve Monkeys Snuch and Seven. Brad have shown what his abilities are and what his able to achieve in many levels. This whole image is not what Brad pretended to be it’s what the MEDIA perceived him to be. Because as you said that’s what sold. They refused to see Brad as an actor but only like a hunk. True fans of Brad are respecting him and don’t want to see him as a dry image but as a talented individual in his work. Brad has always been way more successful in the international markets. His fame is not only based in the U.S. Of course Babel won’t do as well as M&Mrs Smith did. It’s not a blockbuster. It’s an indie with subtitles. But the fact is that now Brad is getting recognition as an actor (he might get an Oscar) and he is in a movie that got excellent reviews and it’s nominated for many awards and it has won some of them already! Personally I think that’s what matters the most.

Also, you know how Perez Hilton always posts how many people visits his site daily? Last week he had almost 4 million different people visiting daily and only very few of those people post replies in the posts. Box office success alone doesn’t ascend an actor into prestige. Brad has b.o. hits and misses as all actors, but the fact is he CAN do artsy films gaining his credibility as a character actor. Something that a certain sitcom actress will never able to do unless maybe she goes back to an acting school. This is why it’s Brad Pitt who is the much bigger A-list movie actor. He is an all-around movie star–looks, international appeal, some box office successes, and TALENT. All of which is now tremendously enhanced by joining another all-around movie star Angie and becoming a father. With these two stars combined bursting in sexual chemistry (and parenthood!), a simple photo in a desert together, looks irresitably appealing. Cate B is a wonderful actress, but still lacks in the ‘all-around’ ness, the kind of movie-star aura Brad has. This is something someone is born with and people around have no choice but to bask in the aura. Angie got it, too, so with these two auras (!) what are we mortals do but to amire them LOL? This is why Aniston look all of the sudden very very plain sans Brad.

Alexandrina: Good point to “I Won’t See It” : The Break Up is really lame (just ask me from enduring it last night). Since I had to watch it with my step dtr. (trying to bond at the uncomfortable age of 19 years old - yeah right) I took the opportunity to really watch X act. Having never seen the movie, but endured all the hype, it was the proof that I knew that her range is very limited. I can not see any raw emotion from her, nor did I laugh at any parts of the movie (nor did step dtr.) I grew up with Meryl Streep and Jessica Lange as my favorite actresses, so my standards are pretty high. Hell, Tootsie was alot funnier than TBU.
Waiting to see where our maize and blue team heads…..I’d like to sneak off and see Babel for a second time. I’ll blow putting the Xmas tree up til next weekend….

Well, with all the troubles down there, they probably have “rules” about staking out houses. I read they have one in the Garden District (?); it’s not on a highway like Malibu, and really, where are they gonna hang looking for them? Plus, it’s only been a week, the kids probably need sometime to acclimate to the new time zone they are in. And, Angie sure looked tired by the end of her shoot. Hopefull, they are taking it easy and have a giant back yard visible to no one.

To Alexanderina & Guli: Just read the sports page and their is alot of differing opinions in who should go to which Bowl. Some people think that Boise State should play Ohio State, because they are undefeated, but I thought the difficulty of your opponents weighed in on the decision. As long as I can start a fire, grab a laptop and watch the Wolverines in a bowl game, life is good.
Back to TBU and my enduring it last night…..my husband even came in and asked me if I was still awake (and it wasn’t even 11 PM yet).

Babel is doing fine. Please ignore the people that are saying otherwise. It’s production budget is $20 million and it has made over $33 million. It is also showing in just over 600 sites in the U.S. currently and about 900 outside and it has grossed over $33 million without this weekend’s intake added. It’s has not opened in places like England and Germany. The people who say it is not a success are just dislaying their usual ‘put down’ attitude. Happy Sunday everyone.

I watched a story about Princess Di today, and a woman from Harlem NY who met with her once said something that made me think immediatly of Angelina.
She said that Lady Di went to the places she did because she knew that the world would follow her there. We’d have no choice but to see what’s going on in the worlds backyards. She knew her “celebrity” could be used to shine a light on the plight of others, and she had found her purpose in that along with being a mother to her sons who she would take out on the coldest of London nights alone, and to parts where homeless lived to show her kids how fortunate they were, and how they had a responsibility to help were they can, and they weren’t better than anyone else because of what they had been born to.
It just all made me think about Angelina Jolie, and wonder why is this so hard for people to understand that about Angelina? Everytime I read someone say “why does she have to be always in the news?” or “can’t she do anything without bringing attention to herself?” OR “they’re such media whores” I just want to cyber smack them silly.
Btw, I really think Princess Di and Angelina would be friends had things been different.

Izzy, I am still shaking my head that you actually watched that movie lol, I haen’t seen Monster with Charlize Theron, but I heard that it was good, she is good enough actress. TGS released date is 12/22
IZZY- Just read you are a fan of Jessica Lange.I am too. Got 2 of her movie from the library. BROKEN FLOWERS, with Bill Murray and DON”T COME KNOCKING with Sam Shepard. Also in the later pic. is a really oldie star, Eva Marie Saint.
Both are wonderful movies. . JLange and S.Shepard, Just like the Sarandon/Robbins, Russell/Hawn has shown the naysayers that love ,partnership and family commitment will survive without that piece of paper-marriage contract.
I know the Jolie-Pitt relationship will last as long as those couples I mentioned above. It’s been almost 2 yrs. after his divorce and the recent sightings with their beautiful children are positive indications of a loving relationship.

It is a losing battle trying to get them people on those sites to feel as you do, and second because you have made it damn hard to even mention being a Brangelina fan without being called over the top JustJAred Brangelunitic. Good Mama and Malibumom : I get your points. But you know, if they can post the most racist and vile comments everytime a Zahara picture goes up on those threads then certainly they can put up with my ranting about how wonderful Brangelina is.
Too often people like that want to shut you up by being racist and cruel - I can’t even repeat some of the things I have heard on that thread. I have even emailed Dlisted on how offensive and racist I think some of the posters are and they should be banned but it is hard to ban them.
I made a decision, particularly when my little niece was born who is part black and part white, that whenever racists spill their venom, I would argue right back with them. They want us to crawl in a hole and say nothing.
It may be a losing battle but I’m willing to fight it. On a Madonna tread with a picture of David Banda on her back, one poster said Madonna had “a monkey on her back”. That is unacceptable and foul. So that is why I talk back to them.
Last, they should not think I represent ALL BAMZS fans just as much as Zahara and David Banda do not represent all little black kids. I do the same in my office with people who indirectly support Mel Gibson’s tirades, etc. I go out of my way to set them straight. It may not get through but it is, for me, worth the fight.
I work in Entertainment, in Los Angeles, and you would think people would be more open minded here but you will be alarmed to hear some comments made even toward Angelina - who many have never even met. Jealousy, I tell ya.

Holy Moley, a weekly British gossip e-mail service that is similar to popbitch, is reporting that Jennifer Aniston has been visiting Vince Vaughn on the London set of his new film, and that she’s quite obviously pregnant. I thought these two were broken up a long time ago, and if Aniston is in London why haven’t we seen pictures? Oh, that’s right, no one gives a **** about her any more.
Also, the power-players on the set (we all know it’s the drivers) report than Jennifer Aniston has been dragging her huge chin there to watch her beau spin out strands of comedy magic, and she’s quite obviously lugging a mini-Vince around in her womb as she’s sweating for two.
The poor sods who have to do the real acting (learning words and not just standing there with a quizzical look and gurning), Paul Giametti and John Michael Higgins, are described as “lovely”.

I thought Aniston was pregnant when she looked a bit paunchy at the premieres of “The Break Up,” back in June but that turned out not to be true. If she’s pregnant now it might be just what she needs to get some publicity and get her career back on track. She most likely realizes this. I’m not saying she convinced Vince to leave the condom off or anything, but it seems possible to me - if this suspect gossip is even true. Life & Style was also calling her pregnant in June. It’s possible she is visiting Vince and she just has a little bitty tummy.

Oh please! X is supposed to be pregnant since the divorce according to tabloids and gossip. Those rumours have been around for tow years already and never proven to be true. Huvane just have to recycle old stories to keep her in the news in any way he can. And it’s widely known that any British publication and especially their tabloids are printing outright lies about everyone. But we scream out how much we love them here, don’t we? And we are really good at silencing the haters here, aren’t we? Why not elsewhere?
If they can call Angelina “whorelina” or say she is a homewrecker or call her “buying babies of color” or say Zahara is I won’t repeat then my instinct is to say how much I love them and how much I loathe how the media has turned Angelina into the Devil woman and Aniston some sort of Saint.
The whole thing is quite sexist. Goes back to literature like The Scarlett Letter where a woman who is sexual and beautiful must be stoned and ostracized whereas the non threatening woman, Aniston, is canonized as some Mother Theresa.
Funny the woman who is helping orphans is not canonized.

Re: X’s rumored pregnancy - I was waiting for something about her to surface pretty quickly, now that we are approaching Award Season and TGS is about to premiere in NY. The pregnancy rumor is so old, I don’t know how anyone would believe that again. X and the VV will probably be ready to walk down the aisle…of course we don’t know what aisle that may be….should be a GOOD show to watch. Some of her best acting is done by her playing someone interesting….do they give awards for that ?
