Normal people. That’s what Babel’s four stories needed. And González Iñárritu, playful, faced the prejudices. The thing with Brad Pitt was a whim and I knew that many would reject this idea a priori, something that I loved. I enjoyed punishing him, making him older, turning him into a human being and get the people to forget that this man was Brad Pitt. It was like planting a palm tree in forest of pine trees. And making the palm tree not be a palm tree. The most curious thing was that Brad was not a star during the shoot because nobody knew him. He was just one more. We shot in a town (Taguenzalte) without electricity, in the middle of nothing. The people are very humble; they have no television. I believe that this helped, because it was hard for him to play the character.
Pitt also encountered a different problem with the script. Iñárritu explains it: I re-wrote the script, re-structured it every time we switched countries according to the cultures and limitations. The whole time it was adjusting, taking, adding, writing… It was a very lonely task. In Brad’s case I wanted to tell the story from the point of view of his wife, from the suffering of a mother of two children who has lost a third child. In the original script, Brad was unfaithful to her. And three weeks before the shoot I changed that because it seemed vulgar to me. The death of a child seemed to work because it created an implosion a lot deeper between them. Brad didn’t have children at the time and did not understand the change; he had a hard time dealing with this new dramatic element.

Brad Pitt is a new man: after divorcing Jennifer Aniston, his relationship with Angelina Jolie has given him a daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, born this year in Namibia, and the two children of the actress, Maddox and Zahara, that Pitt has turned into his children. His relationship with Jolie, that started during the shoot of Mr. And Mrs. Smith (Doug Liman, 2005) has also born other fruits: for instance, the film A Mighty Heart, directed by Michael Winterbottom, that is produced by Pitt and where Jolie stars, or the Jolie-Pitt Foundation that donates millions of dollars to fight against poverty. We knew that a lot of money was going to be spent on Shiloh’s first photos (People magazine paid them four million dollars – 3,2 million euros that they donated to charitable work in Africa), and that someone was going to make a big profit, says the actor, this weighted heavy on our consciences. That is why we destined this money to people who really needed it. But besides being a philanthropist, taking care of his children (waiting for Shiloh to burp after eating is the biggest satisfaction right now in my life, he says) and loving his spectacular partner, Brad Pitt also has time to take care of his career in front of the cameras: this month opens Babel, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, where he downplays once again his glamour (which he gets back on Ocean’s Thirteen, shooting right now) to get immersed in a tortured character that could get him near (a second time in his career after 12 Monkeys) to the Oscar.
F: You consider yourself a superstar?
B.P. Only when paparazzi camp in front of my house or when people go through my garbage.
F: You earn 20 million of dollars (16 million of euros) for a movie. To which extent is money important to you?
B.P. What’s important is the scripts and the people I work with. I am interested in growing as an actor and what I am concerned about are the parts, not my image. I like playing charismatic roles. It’s no longer a matter of money.
F: Where does your fight against poverty come from?
B.P. From the desire to understand, what we lack a lot, I want to educate myself as much as I can to understand the situation and comprehend the solutions.
F.: Was that what attracted you to the story of Daniel Pearl, the journalist that was decapitated in 2002 in Afghanistan? The film A Mighty Heart shot in India, produced by you and starred by Angelina Jolie, is based upon his story. Has it a connection to your own personal interests?
B.P. Yes, I would like for the film to increase the understanding between people of all religions and that it shows the story and the people that lived it as honestly as possible, without rage or prejudice. The film is focused on the close collaboration of many people around the world to find Daniel.
F,: The shoot of this movie in India was complicated by the paparazzi chasing you. How do you free yourself from the aggressivity that this tension generates?
B.P.: Singing. I turn the volume up and I sing. I also love traffic, it’s good to release frustrations: you can yell at someone or play nice and let someone else mess with you. It makes you feel like you are in control of the situation and that is rare nowadays.
F.: What do you do when you are at home?
B.P.: I spend time with the kids, write bad songs and play my guitar. I love music but I do it poorly. We watch DVD’s, ride a bike and play with the dogs. We make barbecues, travel… we have a good life.

F.: Define love.
B.P. The idea you have of love changes as you grow up. You thought you were in love when you had a girlfriend in high school, but it is now when I understand what is important, what is important for the team, what is important for your partner as you get to know her. I am better than ever. And love needs to remain creative. But I disagree with the idea that in a relationship two become one. I believe that what happens is that each one becomes stronger and more independent.
F.: What’s your worst habit?
B.P.: Smoking.
F.: Your favorite food?
B.P.: I like steak.
F.: Piece of clothing?
B.P.: Jeans.
F.: And the most important: what does the two times sexiest man alive according to People Magazine wear to sleep?
B.P. Naked.
Eddie Murphy is being an ass. He started dating Mel ‘Scary Spice’ for cover, and then after old pics of her and her lesbian girlfriend recently showed up in some tabloid, Eddie bolted on her (she had a two year relationship w/ her apparently a couple years back so this mag says).
I guess for Eddie, a woman’s suitable beard status drops considerably if she is bisexual — or maybe Eddie knew all about it and they had an ‘arrangement’ but Eddie balked because her having a gf got out in the press.
But maybe he truly just didn’t know, and when he finds out, he thinks that if people got wind that Scary Spice was/is into women, they would once again question his hetero-ness, and figure he was using a beard for sure. So he hightails it.
He’s kinda dim. Because it’s very obvious that he’s doing just what I said, for the reasons that I said - thus, he looks even more ‘on the down low.’
The fact that Scary is preg, with his baby most likely - and he’s dropping her like she’s red-hot skillet, is WEAK and sad.

This is a compilation of old interviews isn’t it? I remember that quote about watching DVDs, playing with dogs, etc., from an interview from a few years ago, they just added - playing with children. The statement about sleeping in nude and loving steak must be at least 10 years old. It is amazing how they copy and paste statements from different years and put them together like a Frankenstein.

COMPLETELY disagree. They could not look more UNALIKE! They have different skin tones, Eddie is a brown complexion whereas Wesley is a darker complexion. They have completely different features.
If you take the time to look at them, you can see they are two distinctly different looking men. Eddie is attractive and Wesley was considered quite attractive during his New Jack City days.
They do not look alike just as much as Brad Pitt and Johny Depp don’t look alike.
Now the polls are getting down right silly…Wanna go SKIING with Brad and Angie?

British skiers would rather spend time on the slopes with Princes William and Harry than any other celebrity.
A new poll carried out by bmi, shows that 39 per cent of British tourists would enjoy spending some time with the royal brothers while skiing, compared to just 28 per cent who would like to ski with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Other celebrities, such as David and Victoria Beckham, also scored badly, as did Kate Moss and Pete Doherty.
Skiers appear to have decided that the slopes are not a place for politics, with Tony and Cherie Blair receiving the lowest score of just five per cent.
The prime minister and his wife can take comfort in the fact that although they would not be popular company while skiing, the majority of people have never taken to the slopes themselves.
Of those asked, 75 per cent said they had never skied or used a snowboard, with people aged between 45 and 54 the most likely to have taken to the slopes.
Industry experts say that celebrities can have a big influence on people’s holiday choices, in terms of what type of break to take and where to take it.
“Celebrities like Ronan Keating, Bob Geldof, Georgio Armani and the Royal Family are regularly photographed at the Meribel Resort near Lyon, so it’s no surprise that when asked which resort people most wanted to go to, a third of respondents chose the Meribel,” said Zack Wragg, editor of Dark Summer Freeski Magazine.

Dear BAMZS fans wordwide. I have throughly enjoyed all of your posts over this past year. I feel like I’ve gotten to know you as true supporters of this family when everybody in the world has dismissed them. You are loyal, fun loving, full of good wisdom.
Unfortunately this will be my very last post. This past weekend I have had to attend to some family business of great importance. It does require my total consentration and involvement. I will not be posting any longer. It is something I have to do. I used to respect the pain of Jen the leaked at the beginnning of their offical separation, because I would have found very hard to break up with someone like Brad but then she lost her mind and her respect even for herself, started talking nonsense. Unfortunately we shall hear her talking about Brad forever because she has only Brad to talk about in her life.
