Hello everyone,
First, thank you Jared for this post. I will go and buy at least 2 of this magazine. I need to mail one overseas since they don’t get this edition. As for the sandwich story, I doubt it if this is true. I hear, if they have to fly commercial, they purchase the last four rows next to them in first class and make them vacant for their privacy. They flew via Tom Cruise’s jet for $250,000 when they came home to L.A. from Namibia after Shiloh’s birth. They flew via Virgin Atlantic when they went to Europe. If this is true, may be Brad wants a particular sandwich since it was an old rumor that he is a vegetarian. But then again, first class you can order a vege sandwich too. It is a cute story though.

Hello back. I doubt it’s true too, but I thought it was cute and really not that odd. Could it have been not homemade, but sandwiches from a place they really liked, and knew they wouldn’t get again anytime soon, and so bought them and stuck them in that big old Louis Vuitton bag she carries lol.
Hwy, I’ve flown in first class and taken a pizza (I _hit you not) to a friend who asked me to bring one from a favorite local joint. Yes, I got stares, and a coupla people even offered to buy a slice (again, I _hit you not) so the possibility of them pulling it out isn’t at all that forfetched though doubtful.
I’m always the sceptic unless it’s from certain pub’s like PEOPLE, and I don’t like tab stories even if it sounds good. I didn’t necessarily believe it as much as I simply liked the idea/imagery of it and thought I made that clear. Sorry if I suggested that it DID happen.

I see your point as well. And I agree Oprah has done a lot of things that should be commended.
You all know I can’t stand Okra’s so called friendship (HA) with Chin Chin the Talking Monkey but I too believe she came from a sincere place with her statement. Yes, she could have worded it differently but not everyone, no matter how long they’ve been in the business, uses the correct words every time they answer a question. I’ve read her statement many times now and all I see is Okra defending the adoption choices made by Brad, Angelina, Madonna and Guy.

Anyone that says Angelina is a crappy actress is just plain stupid! I am not a fan of either one, Jen Anniston or Angelina, but she is a fantastic actress! Much better than Brad and Jennifer Anniston is not even in the same category, never will be! She totally wiped out everyone in Girl Interrupted! and was sooo deserving of an Oscar! Even her father said so, I do wish she would allow him to see the children though. That is wrong, it isn’t like he would be keeping them alone overnight, what is wrong with just allowing him to see them?
I think unless we know EVERYTHING that went down with AJ and her father we can’t really say what is right and what is wrong. They are her chidlren and Voight is her father no one knows what type of harm he could cause, what the situation would be like or what type of man he is or is’t better than her.

Oprah Said “When I see them carrying around that little black baby” I’m sorry it just doesn’t sound right to me…. She should know better. I get that she’s trying to defend adoption but it stil doesn’t sound right.

people—mentioned (very low key) vince/jen break up. saying jen has been busy with charity work in NY. (the charity excuse must be supplied by Huvanne)
us mag—-no mention of the split, but mentioned vince’s Hungarian or Budapest clubbing.
life and style–talked about a brad/angie malibu wedding this winter (how ridiculous !!) , that jen friends felt it was like a slap at the face if the wedding is done in malibu. that jen has told friends not boycott the wedding.
ok–talked about a brad/angie wedding but in AFRICA. saying that angie befriended oprah , that the family will be distributing gifts to the oprah academy in south africa, and that the wedding will be near the academy. mag also said oprah has encouraged angie to get married.
in touch–jen’s friends are blaming vince for not putting an effort to see jen but instead spending time in budapest.
VF –the mag with brad (blue color), the unauthorized photo isnt selling, plenty in the stores
vogue—still not out yet, store told me she is coming back to re-stock the mag on monday.

Hey girl! OT: can you believe what’s going down between Eddie & Mel B?!!! Scandal. So interesting how you hardly hear a peep from Eddie or about Eddie and the year he gets oscar buzz the shiz hits the fan. Oh well.

I have a lot of things against Oprah, but I’m not going to hold this statement against her. I think she is coming from a sincere place, which is long overdue. She was the only talk show host who dealt with infant rape; it’s possible that, when she’s not advancing the the New Jen agenda, she sees Zahara as a little girl who won’t be subjected to that brutality or to starvation, exploitation, etc. Despite her being neck-deep in Chinnochio’s snatch, Oprah has some awareness and she does pass it on to the MiniVans.

Here Here! There are a few things I am not crazy about when it comes to Oprah but can’t fault her one bit on what she has done for black women or little black girls. She gets a straight A in that area. Remember she wo’nt even let certain singers on her show if they bash women so she’s been called an “oreo” by 50 cent for it. Totally not cool, huh?

Totally agree. She can grate like cheese but I will never take from her the positives that she’s done, and she’s done a helluva lot. Just like with Angelina, if Oprah hadn’t brought it to *my* attention, I may have not ever known about them because lets face it, many of these things weren’t considered important enough because of who the victims were. I’m not going to ever dismiss, denounce, or deny the positives that Oprah has done.

I have black relatives too and I do agree, since I live in the south.. that they somtimes refer to children as black.. out of affection and pride. I dont so much have a problem with that as much as the combination of “carrying around that little black baby” maybe it is just me but… it seems to imply they are doing something as a publicity stunt or like M D said.. accusing Brad of “holding orphans with Angelina”
This is a real family.. Z is their child. They arent just holding her.. they are loving her, playing with her, watching her grow, worrying about her,adoring her, being loved back by her. They are parenting her.

I get your point. Makes sense. But let’s look at it logically.
Oprah’s comment was made to criticize critics of international interracial adoptions so each and every of her words were to show her support for these kinds of adoptions.
And most importantly, Oprah is a black woman, one whose entire career has celebrated this fact. I think we can all trust that Zahara Jolie-Pitt is the last person she would attack. I can’t think of anyone who has dedicated her life to uplifting little black girls more than Oprah.
Did you see the footage of her in South Africa when she announced the opening of her school for girls?
People criticized her for that, btw. They asked why not in the US or why not a school for boys? Philanthropists can’t win huh?

It was a back-handed smack from Jennifer Aniston’s ‘friend.’ You can’t convince me otherwise. Oprah’s true colors are coming through for all to see. She’s trying to differentiate herself (black) from them (white) and not only saying it’s different because THEY are “carrying her around,” but also as I said before it denigrates who they are TO Zahara, her parents.
Look at it like this, one day — Zahara will be a grown woman. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the only parents she has ever known. Her speech patterns will be like theirs, her proclivities, her way of thinking, her gestures may mimic her Mom’s or her Dad’s unconsciously. She is and will be a product of Brad and Angelina, as sure as Shiloh, as she knew them about a year longer than her baby sister.
So, I say all this to say - imagine if you will, someone, anyone, giving Zahara that quote to read from Oprah when she’s 18, and let’s say her Mom & Dad have just dropped her off at college..and she reads where Oprah said, “I see them carrying around that little black baby….and I am so OK with that.”
Think about that for a sec. Think about it, in all it’s conceited, arrogant patronizing condescending splendor…pair it with Michael Douglas’ “to go hold Angelina’s orphans,” comment, and they’re not that diff.
If it makes you cringe in that scenario I painted (grown up Z reading it), it should make you cringe reading it now.

Don’t get me started on 50 Cent. His comments are indicative of a specific contingent of the Black community who reaches for that epithet whenever someone doesn’t fall into line. It wasn’t the first time Oprah heard that slam; it won’t be the last. I’ve been called that too because I was good in school, both academically and behavior-wise, or when I hang out with my White friends and seem to truly enjoy their company and vice versa.
It was a cheap shot, but then again, it came from 50 Cent; what can you expect?

I just got back from my Newsstand as well, no Vogue there either, the guy said next week and I was reading the different tabs, the OK Magazine article really cracks me up about a wedding in Africa and that Angie and Oprah are friends now blah blah blah :lol: :lol:

When I saw that picture from Dlisted…the first thing that came to my head was “GQ’s Man of th Year” God, I feel so dreadful right now…I honestly wish I didn’t click on that link…lol.

Alexanderina–I can’t get on D-listed at work either. But I can access JJ and even perezhilton. I’m at a school district, and they’ve apparently blocked certain sites, but I’ll be home in about a half hour and I can’t wait to see it.
