This is going to sound cold but…

I don’t care how many people she’s helped. I don’t care whose best friend she is or becomes. I don’t even care how much money she has given to more house in this instance why? Because I have already expressed my pride in Oprah’s many accomplishments as a black woman in today’s society.

my arguement is simply this:

The child ZAHARA has a name. Oprah should use it. Once she stresses the use of the child’s name. Guess what? Others will too. I don’t see it as racist so much as insensitive and disrespectful. What was wrong with her saying “Everytime I see them carrying little Zahara around it’s okay with me.”

I’m more interested in her using the child’s name as oppose to her color. Wheteher Zahara was white, black, Asian, Indian…she has a name.

I don’t call her “That black female show host.” and she wouldn’t want to be called that.

I don’t call Dr. Phil that white pompuos blow*hole and he wouldn’t like to be called that.

I don’t call Ann Curry that Asian journalist.

I don’t call Tom Cruise that little non-acting jacka$$…okay maybe I do. LOL!

But my point is, my description is not my name and the fact 100 people may call me that short black girl. doesn’t mean number 101 can’t call me Rica.

They have spent all of their time voting on those silly polls with MTV (best chemistry), US weekly, In(out of)Touch, going to support her crappy movies (4 times in a row), promoting what a hunk VV is, believing her lies and close ties with the Pitt family and what have they got to show for it. All three (X, V2 and SH) has taken their allowance money and ran.

Yes, I tell ya - the kiddies are outrage because they have been DUPED! They’ve been BAMBOOZLED!! They’ve been HOODWINKED!!! They are a LAUGHING STOCK. Even USA Today had a timeline article about J/VV relationship. Excuse me FAUX relationship. Everybody is calling it what is really is - a sham. Personally, I can’t wait to get a hold of US Weekly.

How can they support her now?? BTW where are the vulture nutjobs fanistons? Did they ripped their team Aniston t-shirts to shreads.They are not defending their love for Jennypo - that is for sure. Havent seen any postings by judy/sam/eli/jen anywhere?? Perhaps they have woken up?? Perhaps using new names I guess????

It was a form of speech. She was not saying it in a condescending way. She HAD to make a point of Zahara’s race because people have been making a point of David Banda’s race and Zahara’s race! That was the whole point of her response.

Funny people SKIP over the part where she says , any child saved is a child saved and go straight to where they can misconstrue her words.

If someone had said to Oprah, she should not be a talk show host because she is black then it would be completely ok for someone to respond like this “when i see that black woman on my tv screen, I am happy she is a talk show host”.

That response would be a way to reiterate the very issue that her critics would have with her - which is her race. Give it a break. Go to her Angel’s network and give money or that school for girls she has, or go to an Ethiopian orphanage site and give money in honor of Zahara instead of wasting this much time deciphering why a BLACK woman called a little black girl “that little black girl”. For God’s sake people, let it go!

I’ll go further and say this: Oprah is not at her core, capable of disrespecting black women - she has done too much for them to be that careless - go ask her mentor (and my hero) Maya Angelou. I know why the Caged bird sings - so does Oprah Winfrey, so does Zahara Jolie-Pitt, so does Rosa Parks, so does every single black woman who has suffered. Don’t try to break up the sisterhood - it is too strong. Zahara s a new member of the sisterhood and Oprah is the big sister. We black women have a bond. Don’t worry about our words - we love each other. And Oprah would NEVER dishonor us. She knows our pain, firsthand, way too well.
