HaHaHaHaHa…Jabberwocky is a nutty twit. This moron is an hater? I think I read his/her/it posts before on some other thread. So I guess this faniston can’t get enough of Brad & Angie. Interesting….
good morning bamzs!its friday! morning jj
NY Lurker…….I really love reading all your posts. Very articulate, honest & real. Hopefully you’ll be able to leave more posts. I love it here since the haters & fanistons are the ones who are showing how far their intellect can go. No wonder all fanistons are crazy since they lack the neccessary mental capacity to face what’s real & imaginary. Too sad too bad.
Great picture of Angelina, Thanks JJ
good morning
just had a conversation with a faniston. do you believe she’s still talking about how AJ stole BP away from x (are we still calling her that) with Maddox and then cemented the deal by having Shiloh?
and that they were carrying before the divorce. I reminded her that x and VV were carrying on before the divorce. does Brad get held to a higher standard, and why.
the subject, I reminded her is VV and X now that she’s an Ex-x
Nice post B.J. I’m kind of surprised at the name calling (Okra? Grow the hell up!) and thinking didn’t mean what she said in a good way. She is simply saying it’s OKAY for any celeb or any person to adopt a child and race doesn’t matter. All that matters is that they saved a child. Jeez People. I’m a huge Brad/Angelina fan and you need to learn to pick your battles.
Deena, you cannot reason from nutcases like Aniston’s fans. A few are nice BUT majority of them are simply out of their sanity. It seemed to me thye will stay there until the ship sank at the bottom of the sea. They could be dedicated fans but they are just so unreasonable & lunatics & reasoning out with them are loss case.
I am imagining chinocchio alone screaming her brain out so loud at the ocean even the el nina will run for cover…
But seeing what she has done in the past the VF interview, Okrah shows ,yoga for survival , LAX police photo ops etc.,and now the break up, this woman will give yet another run to steal the thunder from the Hottest Couple-Pitts.

so true. why is it that fanistons make vile and vicious names out of Angelina’s name, we all know what they are and I won’t repeat them. but we can’t call Okra a name that is after all, just a vegetable? again with the double standard

oprah does not wear a wig. not all black women wear wigs. thank you very much.
and it is interesting that white people want to claim black people are racist toward each other for saying “that little black child”.
what? let me forward your attention to michael richards - that’s racist. thanks.

Um anon I am Black –there was a little mixing going on but I am Black. I admire Oprah from taking Madam CJ Walker’s achievements to the next level but let’s call an illiterate comment exctly what it is…ILLITERATE!
Oh and let’s not kid ourselves…that is not all of Oprah’s hair. Trust, I’m not hatin’ because her sh*t be tight but it IS NOT all hers. In this day and age all races add a little here and there (Nicole Kidman, Paris Hilton) who cares about wwhether or not she has to wear one or not due to her race. I believe the statement was more for the affect that Brad or Ang should go in her mouth. Or like I am prone to say “ROCK HER SNOT BOX!”

We hear you. We understand that you are a Brad and Angelina fan, but the ‘Okrah’ thing is not new. Some people call her that, some people don’t. People been calling her that for a long time on this board. Whether it’s right or wrong, it’s an individual decision. Just because you’re new to this board doesn’t give you the right to lecture or reprimand. Picking one’s battles is a two-way street, you know.
since its been so long without seeing any pics I wonder if Brad and Angelina went somewhere remote and tropical for a little break before all the press this month starts?

or maybe Oprah wasn’t specifically talking about Zahara as the “little black baby”, but rather the general feeling of seeing black (or other races) children adopted by white people (hints her mentioning Madonna as well). that’s the way I took, I think sometimes people read between the lines too much. Oprah is just stating her views and I appreciate her honesty, although some people would rather her be more politically correct.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I hear you and I appreciate the way you worded your opinion. It makes sense, however, Oprah has a track record for “chastisement” of others in the public spotlight fromour race. She is very judgemental of what should and should not be said and can’t tolerate it even in the context of lyrics in a song which is purely entertainment so why should we not hold her to the same standards when she chose to incorrectly reference Zahara for a serious public forum?
Interesting article:
Blowing the cover:
Brangelina shooting for their film might have been the perfect opportunity for India to project itself as a great shooting destination for Hollywood films. Might have been… sighs Sneha Hazarika
Hollywood super stars, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, spent a good period of one and a half months in the country to shoot director Michael Winterbottom’s The Mighty Heart and considering their stature, the media frenzy was huge from day one. Brad Pitt’s participation in the Jimmy Carter project at the township of Lonavla, UN Refugee Agency ambassador Angelina’s successful meeting with Indian junior foreign minister Anand Singh in Delhi to promote the cause of refugees from Afghanistan and Burma, and the couple’s visit to a Pune orphanage were goodwill exercises. The unauthorised private helicopter landing in Jodhpur, the minor scuffle with the paparazzi, a few production delays and a hit-and-run scare in Pune notwithstanding, the stay initially was quite peaceful.
The last leg of the tour in Mumbai was, however, not destined to be smooth. Things seemed alright at first with the shoot taking place in south Mumbai. In Jolie’s first Press conference she claimed she hadn’t spoken to the media since she was busy and revealed that her “plans” of adopting an Indian baby were just another rumour. While shooting in Mumbai’s streets, she was even pictured taking a ride in one of Mumbai’s local trains to experience simple life in the developing country.
However, the one ugly incident in the last week of their stay seems to have changed a lot of things. The scuffle between Jolie’s bodyguards with parents of students of Anjuman-e-islam School, which was one of the locations for the shoot, assumed enormous proportions. Reports claimed that the bodyguards pushed the parents and hurled racist abuse at them when they came to collect their wards after school. The British guards, Thomas McAdams, Robert Dunn, and Michael Brett, were arrested and later released on bail. But they were asked to report to the police station for a week.
Jolie was reportedly angry with the treatment that the Mumbai Police had meted out to the guards. “It is not surprising that the Press persons involved failed to mention their share of the responsibility in the chaos. As for this horrible rumour that someone referred to a local man as a ‘bloody Indian’, let me say this, I would never work with anyone that used derogatory language towards another man’s race. My family is of mixed race,” said Jolie in a statement to British production company Dallington TV, which organised the shoot.
“There is an undercurrent of hurt in the unit, which should not have been the case,” said Indian actor Irrfan Khan, who was with the unit when the incident occurred.
Producer Brad Pitt met Mumbai Police commissioner AN Roy and apologised for the incident but not before clarifying his position. The incident had upset him deeply. “I am sorry for what has happened and for any inconvenience caused to the sentiments of people. We love children and would not do anything to harm them. But I don’t understand this. If at all they had misbehaved or uttered anything objectionable, the dozens of cameras would have shot that. When there is no evidence how can anyone be arrested,” he questioned adding, “It’s one man’s word against another’s. But I am upset that these guys should be accused of a racial slur. Our unit is multicultural and Angie and I are completely above racism of any kind.”
Many insiders feel that it was line producer Arti Surendranath and her Kailash Picture Company’s lack of experience which led to the uproar of this magnitude. It was the line producer’s duty to take proper permission, which the police claimed was not done. “If Angelina Jolie’s bodyguards were directly confronting civilians, it shows that the local line producer didn’t provide the shooting crew with another ring of locals who would have been useful in controlling the crowds,” said Arjun Bagga , a service provider who worked with Omar Sharif’s ‘One Night with the King that was shot in Rajasthan. “Most foreigners who come to India are completely dependant on their Indian service providers who fail to brief the producers about the basic problems that they may encounter during their stay,” said another service provider.
The consequences of this incident can be really bad, feel many experts. “I have discussed the issue with many of my friends who are a part of UK and US film crews. There are a couple of big Hollywood films due to be shot in the country. But I have the gut feeling that after what has happened with two well-known A -list Hollywood actors many from Hollywood might prefer to stay away from India and instead go to Bangkok and other Asian countries which provide better facilities. As many are aware, Matt Damon too didn’t have an exactly pleasant experience shooting for The Bourne Supremacy in Goa in 2004. Of course, this was much worse,” speculates film editor Anouradha Singh who has done a few international projects, including Marigold, The Forest and Blood Monkey.
Added to this was the wild media frenzy. With someone of the stature of Angelina Jolie around, media attention was unavoidable, but things could have been brought under control with some efficiency on the part of the local crew and by the media.
It seems after all the media attention Brangelina decided to leave India quietly. Jolie had said that she was not leaving India in a hurry because of the incident and would stay on for a week after which her next stop would be Cambodia. But after letting out their side of the story it was all quiet on their front and very people came to know how and when they flew out of the country. It’s also reported that right after the fracas and their clarifications the crusading actress had already played a surprise visit to Cambodia to oversee a conservation project. Later the star couple was pictured riding a bike as they celebrated Thanksgiving in Vietnam.
The only concern is that this unfortunate incident might negatively affect the status of further foreign film shoots in the country.

regarding the Barbara Walter’s special in December, Brad/Angie can never be #10 because #10 is always a “?”.
If Brad/Angie is a “?”, the names will not be revealed until the date of the show. Well, Brad/Angie are the biggest draw for audience, putting them into “?” means fewer audience.
so the “?” person has to be some non-celebrity

==== Interesting. Could it be SHILOH??? Try to look at it this way. She’s a multi-million dollar baby. Her birth is certainly one of the most awaited and likened by the tabloids to the second-coming. She’s famous, not only in America but all over the world. The press were scrambling all over themselves to take a hold of her first pictures, and they paid mega bucks for it. She’s shrouded in mystery and the public and the media is still breathlessly waiting for another glimpse of this precious bundle of joy. For fascination factor alone I’d go with SHILOH. And since Angelina and Brad might be in the #2 list, doesn’t it follow that the the product of this impossibly cataclysmic coupling will grip the whole world’s attention?
Or I could be wrong and it’ll be SURI instead. All those “Where’s Suri???” tabloid covers were certainly grabbing my attention. Which thouroughly confused me a lot, was this child kidnapped or lost??
Or I could be wrong again and it’ll be TOM CRUISE and all the alien invaders in his entourage. Or it could be GEORGE W. BUSH. Anything’s possible.

I think there are some who are willing to give Oprah the benefit of the doubt.
However, there are others who do not care for her at all. I don’t think either
opinion is wrong. If we all agreed on everything I think we would be a pretty
mindless bunch.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But my point is, my description is not my name and the fact 100 people may call me that short black girl. doesn’t mean number 101 can’t call me Rica.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It was a form of speech. She was not saying it in a condescending way. She HAD to make a point of Zahara’s race because people have been making a point of David Banda’s race and Zahara’s race! That was the whole point of her response.
Funny people SKIP over the part where she says , any child saved is a child saved and go straight to where they can misconstrue her words.
If someone had said to Oprah, she should not be a talk show host because she is black then it would be completely ok for someone to respond like this “when i see that black woman on my tv screen, I am happy she is a talk show host”.
That response would be a way to reiterate the very issue that her critics would have with her - which is her race. Give it a break. Go to her Angel’s network and give money or that school for girls she has, or go to an Ethiopian orphanage site and give money in honor of Zahara instead of wasting this much time deciphering why a BLACK woman called a little black girl “that little black girl”. For God’s sake people, let it go!
I’ll go further and say this: Oprah is not at her core, capable of disrespecting black women - she has done too much for them to be that careless - go ask her mentor (and my hero) Maya Angelou. I know why the Caged bird sings - so does Oprah Winfrey, so does Zahara Jolie-Pitt, so does Rosa Parks, so does every single black woman who has suffered. Don’t try to break up the sisterhood - it is too strong. Zahara s a new member of the sisterhood and Oprah is the big sister. We black women have a bond. Don’t worry about our words - we love each other. And Oprah would NEVER dishonor us. She knows our pain, firsthand, way too well.
****************************************************
I don’t know which Oprah you are talking about, certainly not Oprah of today that has allowed her wealth and fame to make her arrongant. Oprah of old was able to empathize with people who were not wealthy and famous. Today, Oprah sees herself as a friend of the rich and famous, and talks to those on a lower scale with such disdain as if they are lucky to be in the presence of the almighty, she has started to believe her own press, and that usually happens before the fall.
This talk of black sisterhood is just bullcr*p. When Oprah had her numerous 50th birthday celebrations, the one that was supposed to be her 50 girlfriends had only 4 black women- Gayle, Mrs Coretta-Scott King, Maya Angelou and the woman that runs her foundation, the rest were white women. Look at all the people that Oprah has started or is producing shows for- Dr Phil, Rachel Ray. Who are prominent on her shows, except for Gayle and the therapist on her show, the rest are white people. When she did a behind the scene look of her company last month, most of her employees were white.
So do not try to shove down my throat this idea of black sisterhood with Oprah loving and supporting each other.
Show me one black person that Oprah has launched their career except for Gayle being a best friend. Do not kid yourself into thinking that Oprah can relate to your life today, if she could, she would not throw a fit because Hermes store did not open specially for her after hours.
You do not have to be black to be in sisterhood with me. Isn’t funny that you left Angie out in that circle of sisterhood, even though she is the mother to a black child. She is the one showing that child the world and giving her the best, but most of all, she and Brad gave that child their last name, something Oprah has not been able to does not seem capable of doing.
Get with the program with Oprah, she cares more about pleasing her core audience than she cares about being black or being in sisterhood with with you. Angelina might be white, but she is going to fight for the things that will affect her daughter’s life, and despite her fame, beauty and fame, she is still very humble, and humility is something Oprah lost a long time ago. I applaud what Oprah is doing in Africa, a lot of white people are out there helping too.
Thanks for the transcript.
I remember that interview well. It’s funny how some of the things he said came to pass. He was the bad guy, still is the bad guy to the stubborn ones, but even back then, he understood the bounty that was on his and Angelina’s head. It makes the whole thing all the more sordid since the paps targeted innocent children.
Beautifull, she is perfet, I love her.
About Oprah’s “… that little black child…” comment, I’m not offended if the blacks aren’t offended. Oprah’s black, and quite a few posters here have said that it’s something blacks say about themselves. So, it doesn’t appear to be derogatory to blacks.
To tell you the honest truth, I’ve never ever fully understood why blacks don’t mind being called “blacks”. Imagine describing East Asians as yellows. And if someone describes Meg Ryans daughter as “… that little yellow child…”, I’d be most annoyed. However, I’ve been assured by various blacks that they don’t see it as derogatory, so then, it isn’t and I can respect it even if I don’t understand it.
I understand what Rica was trying to say about how this child has a name, but in the context of Oprah’s statement, I didn’t find if offensive. I think she was trying to make a point about how Americans should adopt African children.
Playing devil’s advocate… Iyana Vanzant (sp).
Before Dr. Phil, there was Iyana. She appeared on the show every few weeks, like Dr. Phil did before he got his show. Iyana was awesome and very down to earth. I think Iyana said that Oprah wanted to give her her own show, but Iyana had family issues that she couldn’t abandon for a talk show; I think she had to take care of a grandchild. Anyway, the last time I saw Iyana was on Starting Over, the second season and beyond.
