OlderMoviegoers Avoid Angelina Jolie?
Not likely but The Gallup Organization, a supposedly widely recognized barometer of American opinion (I’ve never heard of it), recently conducted a survey asking Americans “whether or not they make a special effort to see movies starring 13 different Hollywood A-listers.”
Americans gave Tom Cruise a giant “thumbs down” clocking in at 34 percent. Angelina Jolie came in at a distant second, with 18 percent of Americans saying they avoid seeing her movies. That’s 180 out of 1003 votes.
Who received the most positive reaction of any of the stars in the poll? Tom Hanks! Two of his most recent films include The Da Vinci Code and The Terminal.
Pictures include Angelina Jolie recently leaving her NYC midtown hotel (supposedly The Regency Hotel at Park and 61st).

No one is getting shafted. we are all individuals here and have our own opinions, most of us appreciate Jared and Audrey and want them to know that.

I wouldn’t cross the street to see Cruise, Jolie, Pitt, or Aniston just because it is one of them. If the movie itself sounded good, I might go see them, but in general, I avoid the narcissists.

Cliniqua is out in a huff? OK.. people this is all entertainment. You know, fun. Why do so many take things so personally? Some on this board are so edgy like their life depended on 1)getting new pictures, finding out exactly where Brad & Angelina are this very second, making X more miserable than she is, attacking trolls *** for tat, etc…It ain’t that serious OK? We have young Americans dying overseas at war evryday and for what? What would happen if we took all this frenetic edginess directed at a blogger and redirected it somewhere than can make a positve difference?
OK tomorrow is premiere day here in NY and it will be 54 degrees so there will be a lot of folks outside kept very far away from the action. I would ask Angelina is she were planning any missions with the UNCHR in the near future and what country would it be.

mark my words, that “marianne pearl” movie will definitely be a bomb since Angelina is the lead character and the rest of the cast are not well known. I’m not sure about the good shepherd since Derino and Damon are leads in this movie, so it has a 50/50 chance of success.

Of course you pick a movieYou know, this movie will just be like Babel is and yes, it probably most likely won’t do as well as big blockbuster type movies but as long as Angie and Brad feel that the message they were trying to portray has been reached, that is what will make them happy.

Movies like “Babel”, The Fountain and “A Mighty Heart do well outside of the US. And it’s a shame because it is a testament to our taste in cinema. If it isn’t gory, full of gratuitous violence, bubble gum nonsense, or loud and action packed, Most Americans simply don’t want to see it. They don’t want to “think”, don’t want to “feel bad” as someone told me regarding why they wouldn’t see ‘Babel’. Some of the greatest movies are created and produced here and we as a country…a people don’t even appreciate our own talent. People won’t go see “Babel” which speaks to International relationships and understanding but they will go and see a movie called “Black Christmas” or “Saw”
It’s just a shame to think that the International movie buff “gets” us better then we get ourselves.

Angelina Jolie confirmed to SCIFI Wire that she was approached by Sin City directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller to play Ava, Dwight’s (Clive Owen) “dame to die for,” in the proposed sequel, Sin City 2. Jolie added that she’s still open to starring in the film if everything comes together at some point in the future.
“We’ve talked about it,” Jolie said in an interview while promoting her latest film, The Good Shepherd. “And I’ve read the comic, and I don’t think the film is being made at this moment. So when it’s actually going to be made, I’m sure we’ll talk about it [again].”
Jolie (Lara Croft Tomb Raider) said that Miller and Rodriguez first approached her about the movie when she was pregnant with her child by Brad Pitt. “So it was this idea that I’d been Clover [in The Good Shepherd] and depressed and quiet [as that character], and then I was feeling very maternal and pregnant, and it was this idea of [then playing] this sexy, violent, loud [woman],” she said. “And I suddenly thought, ‘Well, maybe after I’m pregnant that’ll be nice to do.’ It didn’t come together at that time, but we’re still talking about it.”

True fans do not make lewd remarks about Angelina and Brad and do not give them a bad rep by attacking others on other threads or sites. Also a true fan of Angie would not denigrate her father even though she and he are not on speaking terms at the moment. He is her father and she would choose him over you any day. Guys, come to think of it. Johnny Depp made big Box-office money on Charlie & teh Chocolate Factory & Pirates of the Carribean movies BUT the movie Libertine ONLY garnered $ 4 Million at the North American Box-Office receipts. Darn, even Julia Roberts gets her slow days at the movies. Same with Tom Cruise. I think it depends on what kind of movie it is.
Most Oscar award winning performances are rarely box office champions. Most stars do it for the recognition of Oscar, SAG and GG. The box office is for the Production companies more so than the actors. Yes it’s great to be a box office hit but most celebrities have said that the Oscar Nominations and finally the win are what they reach for.

Oscar doesn’t mean Box Office and Vice Versa. It’s the Actor’s personal goals that dictate what they consider success. Whether a poll states that we’ll see it or not. These movies are rated on their actual storyline, the actors’ performances and the visual and wardrobe outcomes. Rarely is it based on how many heads were counted on opening day.

I was offended with something Jared was doing and I emailed him directly and we communicated until we solved it. I think you should do the same Cliniqua. JJ really is the best and I can’t wait to get my hat, t-shirt and wristband. The recent Gallup poll shows that Robert De Niro ranks the second most loved among Americans. So will many Americans watch The Good Shepherd because of Robert De Niro?
Based on the survey, I cannot say anything much about Aniston. But what I know is that she is called by media as the American sweetheart and yet her recent films flopped badly in the American boxoffice and worst in the FOREIGN boxoffice. Is this the reason why she is UNEMPLOYED?
I know The Break-Up earned about $200 million, but still, why can’t she get herself employed … I mean acting on films. Possibly there are other reasons.

someone criticized Angie for not forgiving her father etc etc… it was pointed out that she HAS forgiven him and why exactly it is HER RIGHT and HER BUSINESS if she chooses not to have him in her life. the fanustons are some of the worst fans I’ve encountered. Holy cow even Hilary Duff’s fans are nicer compare to the JA fans.
