OlderMoviegoers Avoid Angelina Jolie?
Not likely but The Gallup Organization, a supposedly widely recognized barometer of American opinion (I’ve never heard of it), recently conducted a survey asking Americans “whether or not they make a special effort to see movies starring 13 different Hollywood A-listers.”
Americans gave Tom Cruise a giant “thumbs down” clocking in at 34 percent. Angelina Jolie came in at a distant second, with 18 percent of Americans saying they avoid seeing her movies. That’s 180 out of 1003 votes.
Who received the most positive reaction of any of the stars in the poll? Tom Hanks! Two of his most recent films include The Da Vinci Code and The Terminal.
Pictures include Angelina Jolie recently leaving her NYC midtown hotel (supposedly The Regency Hotel at Park and 61st).

Hey there Rica! ITA. Haters rant on how much Aniston made on FRIENDS and that she was a “success” before Brad. Sure, in terms of money. And many drug dealers are success too in that manner. But Oscars and awards are for recognition, clout as an ARTIST, actors are artists. I guess TV sitcomers are not… But I think Lucile B was an artist. SO it’s possible to be a sitcom artist.

the fanustons are some of the worst fans I’ve encountered. Holy cow even Hilary Duff’s fans are nicer compare to the JA fans. They curse & rant racist & vile comments, unless you Observation is the one doing it all. I won’t be surprise at all. They are good on denial just like their pathetic idol Anuston.
And what more there is a scary element to them. Too many of them are rabid and I am afraid something is going to happen to Angie or God forbid the children before people realize they have gone too far. I mean if you look at some of the other websites the hate is UNBELIEVABLE and not even rational. Here Vince just broke up with her and they are still screaming about Brad.
If Aniston and Huvane think they can control the public - they will have another thing on their hands if one of these psychos do something to Angie and the children.

And yes, there are some posters on this site who really believe that Angelina is reading these posts and would pat them on the back for all the nasty vile things they say. Not the type of fans who rant and scream? - delusional - you are some of the worst. In fact you are known for being crazyand out of control. True fans do not make lewd remarks about Angelina and Brad and do not give them a bad rep by attacking others on other threads or sites. Also a true fan of Angie would not denigrate her father even though she and he are not on speaking terms at the moment. He is her father and she would choose him over you any day. But I sense you don’t know that.

Wow, the worst of the things a fan says on this site is like a drop of water compared to the worst I have read about Brad, Angie, and their children on sites like Perez Hilton, D-Listed, FemaleFirst, E-online, etc. Don’t come preaching here about fans of this site being known as the worst just because people here are willing to stand up and be proud to be Brad and Angie’s fans. Where is all this outcry when you read those nasty and vile things that others come and post on here or elsewhere about Angie and Brad’s children? I have read those sites and agree with the above poster who says they are scared for Angie and her family because one of those anti-fans filled with rage might do something to them.

angie is a good actress. i love to see how she acts in her everymovie. beautiful face with good talent and a big heart. such a complete package of a gifted person.

I posted about Jon Voight today and will repeat it if you want. Summarizing, I said that he was on TV after before Shiloh was born and after saying he is sorry and wants to meet the kids. Well then, why wasn’t he on national TV to defend his daughter when his good friend Donald Trump went on Larry King and said horrible things about him? Wouldn’t any caring, loving, father do that, and since he likes giving her messages on TV, why didn’t he go and defend her then? I know my dad would not let any of his friends talk that way about me and do nothing. So, if Angie does not want her father in her life, it’s her choice and hers alone.

Dropping by and saw so much drama over a pointless poll. Yes, pointless. The Gallup poll is well-respected, but numbers and statistics deserve more than simple absolute number interpretation. 18% no matter how one spins it is nothing. Why?
Consider films are generally recognized as box office hits when they hit the $100 million marker (all things considered and the film doesn’t have a massive budget). Let’s say the average ticket price is about $7 (factoring matinee ticket prices). $100 million divided by $7 is about 14 million people. At ticket prices of $10, that is 10 million. Pirates of the Caribbean generated what? $400 million? That is about 40 million, not even excluding those who saw the film multiple of times. 10 million, 40 million out of 300 million people in the States…. 3% to 13% go to any one film. What is the movie-going base? I don’t know, but I do know a large population don’t spend their money on going to movies period. Everybody has his/her own tastes.
So, 18%…who cares?? If what I’ve seen of this poll finding is correct, 74% are willing to see Angie’s films, leaving 8% indecisive? This is a lot of kvetching over nothing and certainly nothing to hold against Jared or anyone else. Passion is great but think of where that passion can be better applied: in the issues Angie is most passionate about.
With that said, I am thinking of you guys and hope to drop that note soon before X-mas.
