December 13, 2006 — LISTEN to me. Pay attention. Some thing I must tell you:

“The Good Shepherd” is possibly the best spy thriller ever made. No mindless soulless ice ‘em, slice ‘em, dice ‘em fast-food chop suey, this film is for chess players, not checkers players. High school dropouts can stick to Daniel Craig’s shoot-’n'-shout schlock.

Robert De Niro is a stunning director. The huge cast beginning with Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Keir Dullea, Timothy Hutton, William Hurt, Joe Pesci, Alec Baldwin, Tammy Blanchard, John Turturro, Billy Crudup, Ann Hampton Callaway and De Niro himself is threaded through seamlessly. He isn’t self-indulgent. His camera doesn’t linger. As Universal’s CEO Ron Meyer put it to me: “Bobby was incredibly focused. So prepared. He loved doing this one.”

A complex story of the early days of the CIA, of Kennedy, the Bay of Pigs, the ’60s, post WWII Communist Russia, the days when idealists loved our blessed America, it’s lengthy, but this director with towering ability moves it. My friends at the motion picture academy swear they will hustle for Robert De Niro for Best Director.

Angelina’s acting ability is as powerful as her beauty. She’s excellent. The whole cast is excellent. But this is Matt Damon’s picture. Shorn of tics and tricks, his eyes, his body language, his intensity tells it all. Not a false move. Playing a CIA chief, Matt is a lesson in Acting 101. In “The Good Shepherd,” Matt Damon is an Oscar nominee.

This being its premiere at the Ziegfeld, some of us talked luck. Mrs. De Niro, Grace Hightower - nifty in allover black and diamonds: “I have to tell you I did do a little affirmation earlier today, so I know it’s going to be wonderful tonight.”

I asked Angelina what she’d done for luck. Laughing, she said: “Luck? I don’t need to do anything to get luck. I already have luck. I brought my luck along tonight, and he’s sitting right with me.”

And her luck stepped back to give his lady the whole spotlight. Brad’s comment to me: “Hey, I’m off-duty tonight.”

Hmmm, why only hold Brad to that standard? I’ve always been wondering about this and yet none of the moralists ever answered so many questions that we had posted before. The ever-popular America’s Sweetheart Julia R did not respect her present husband’s previous marriage. Kate H, another America’s Sweetheart, did NOT respect her own marriage. Ryan P did not respect his own marriage to still another AS, Reese W. Yet NONE of these so-called golden people ever got brickbats. Brad had been so steadfast in denying that he cheated, and yet people cheerfully and maliciously label him “adulterer” and “cheater.” And this is getting so old, so 2005, and yet it seems with this Vogue article we would have to endure another round of name-calling well into the coming new year.

Gee, people, give it up already!!!! They’re here, they’re together, deal with it!!!!

There is no point to complain about Larry King. This is him, everybody knows how he approachs to his guests and what kind of question he asks. C’mon he is older than TV itself almost!

If Angie was bothered by him, she wouldn’t accept his invitation at all.

No kidding. LKL is a puff piece interview except now he’s getting senile and forgetting people’s names, or isn’t prepared, he talks over his guests and doesn’t let them finish a thought. He’s an institution and people still want to do LKL because it’s worldwide exposure on CNN

I thought that she looked STUNNING!!! She looks beautiful as always. I’m not the biggest fan of Larry King Live, so I’m hoping that we see more of her through Diane Sawyer. Can you believe that Cindy Adams gave TGS a good review? It must have been tough for her to chew, she supposedly hated Angie during the Brad and Jen divorce hoopla!! Eat your heart out Cindy!!! As for the Page Six article, that is rubbish. He isn’t trained, he is just trying to shine the light on his partner!

On the subject of cheating and sanctity of marriage, lets not forget former President BIll Clinton.

So this hopefully is as bad as it’s going to get for us. And we don’t raise our kids in Hollywood. They don’t go to sets every day. They travel the world and do many, many other things. So hopefully they don’t think this is just what their parents do for a living. They know many other things about who we are. … They’re restricted by they have a lot of other blessings. And like every parent, you just do the best you can with whichever situation you have.”

BTW- I like what she said.They are trying to put the focus on other things rather than their Hollywood status.The kids had plenty opportunities to explore the world along with their parents and have so many great experiences at such a young age.And they will have many many more.Their borders will be wide open as they way they will view the world.All people should be citizens of the world.And Brad and Angelina are raising them as they should and it’s such an inspiring and beautiful think to watch.

Well, I don’t think Brad ever went into his relationship with Angelina with that we’ll see where it takes us crap. As she says in Vogue it wasn’t like they just on the spur of the moment decided to be together. Angelina would never have allowed Brad to adopt Zahara and Maddox let alone have a baby with him if she and he thought they were a temporary situation.

I was curious to see how the fanistons were taking this barrage of all things Brad and Angelina, especially the red carpet event. Boy, the FF heifers were really in full force. They are all predicting that they will separate soon, that Angie looks so sad and angry in the red carpet pictures — I guess they just looked at the photos and did not see the entertainment shows, or even clicked on ET and accesshollywood interviews

It’s all reactionary stuff because Brad and Angelina did a red carpet event. They’re freaking out because in the words of Jack “You can’t handle the truth” ;-)

People have been predicting since the first pictures of them in Kenya that they’re on the verge of seperation. LMAO Shiloh’s pic didn’t help them either because she’s just a stunning baby let alone the InTouch article talking about how close Angelina is to Brad’s family. And of course the Vogue article leaks. All their heads exploded.

No one knows what the future is going to be with Angelina and Brad but there is no denying how close they are. These people spend an enormous amount of time together and yet seeing them and watching them it still seems like it’s never enough for them.

They looked great, they had fun and like Angelina said they’re off for Christmas vacation time with their families. They’re a family and they have a big extended family and no one posting on a celebrity blog/message board is going to change that.
