X was a presenter last year because Huvane called in every marker her had to get her a spot, and they were cynically playing on the divorce story. The ratings were actually down as compared to the year before. There was no groundswell of interest and increased ratings because of her, just as her movies bomb.

Let the haters hate. It’s working out well for them so far. Brad and Angelina, according to them, were supposed to be long over by now. They certainly weren’t supposed to have a family together. Oh and it was Aniston’s movie career that was going to be bigger than ever. And this time last year, they were yapping on about how she’d be nominated for Derailed or RHI.

CLINIQUA, Thank you for making my day better with this post. I have been worrying about Angie and have cut down on watching entertainment shows because of their obvious bias towards her. I really hate watching and listening to people look down their noses at her. I just keep on praying for her and Brad and their family and hope they keep strong amidst the passing storms that come their way. The other good thing is that they have the “us against the world” mantra down and that’s making them grow closer day by day. Even though Angie said she doesn’t trust people, at least Brad is the closest person to her and that means alot if he comes before her mother and brother. I wish them lots of happiness and joy.

Hello I am new here (lurking for a while but started posting about 2 weeks ago) and I have noticed a lot of ‘old-timers’ conversing back and forth which prodded me to come out of lurkerdom.

During my time of lurking whenever a new name would appear with nasty things to say everyone would comment and basically exchange comments with the “troll”. I have read through all of the condescending exchanges with the ritzygal but still there was interaction. I came in to what I thought was an open forum to express my support of the Jolie-Pitts and have tried to interact and even ask questions as you all appear to know so much but it seems you all rather respond to the “trolls”.

I know guli responded to me when I asked just to see if my post was showing up and now there are even some here using my exit line of TTFN but for the most part only an ocassional troll and a disgruntled fan you disagreed about all the talk about Oprah has responded.

Please Please do not get offended because I am just trying to understand why it appears that everyone would rather debate with a “troll” than engage in conversion with a fellow fan. Are all of the screen names here really different individuals? Again I don’t mean to offend but I am trying to understand.

Is there some type of vote that has to take place to be allowed to participate or did I need to come out swinging with nasty slurs against X? I am overjoyed that Brad is with Angelina but I just don’t feel comfortable kicking dirt on anyone. I do pipe in with my opinion in defense of B&A but I really try and abstain from name calling because to me it does nothing more that add a negative to my own peace of mind.

Again I really don’t mean to offend and I could well imagine the response if I am wrong.

I just wanted to welcome you to the board. I have to admit, I don’t recall any of your posts; I even scrolled up to see if you posted earlier; I didn’t see anything.

No, it isn’t necessary for you to bash Aniston in order to be engaged by other BAMZS fans. My only suggestion is for you to be distinctive and specific when you post; merely saying that you love Brad or Angelina or the kids or Brad and Angelina’s film/charitiable works won’t garner any attention. For a lot of us, a post like that would be greeted with a ‘Duh’ or with suspicion, because, again, it’s not distinctive. Being vague may produce red flags in some of our minds, since a common tactic is to pretend to like this family and then, slowly and methodically, the poster’s true colors is revealed. You’ll need to distinquish yourself from the jerkoffs who’ll expend all of their energy in being negative.

I will also advise you to not be so sensitive. Just because you don’t get a response or a ITA, doesn’t mean that we’re ignoring you. Some people talk amongst themselves; for others, like me, it’s a free-for-all - whatever jumps out at me, I will respond. It will take some time to develop a tough skin toward BAMZS fans and haters alike, but it is up to you to determine if it’ll be worth it.

So, in summary, keep your chin up and keep posting.

For Brad Pitt, Will Smith, Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep, Sacha Baron Cohen and the other Golden Globe nominees, Thursday morning’s news might have come before dawn, but it didn’t take long for the reality to set in.

“What a great wake-up call,” The Pursuit of Happyness dramatic actor nominee Smith told PEOPLE. “I couldn’t be more honored.”

Smith has been down the Golden Globe path before, having received another dramatic actor nomination for 2001’s Ali. He was also in the running for best TV actor for his sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Pitt, a supporting actor nominee in the dramatic category, said in a statement, “I am so pleased this morning to be nominated along with my fellow actors in Babel for a Golden Globe. I am very proud of this film and I congratulate Alejandro (Gonzalez Iñárritu, the film’s director), Rinko (Kikuchi), Adriana (Barraza) and Cate (Blanchett) as well. As a producer with Plan B, I’d also like to congratulate Annette Bening and all the nominees from The Departed.

For Baron Cohen, who was nominated for best comedic actor for his box-office smash Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (which also received a best comedic film nod), the comedy continued when he heard about being honored.

“I have been trying to let Borat know this great news, but for the last four hours both of Kazakhstan’s telephones have been engaged,” he said in a statement. “Eventually, Premier Nazarbayev answered and said he would pass on the message as soon as Borat returned from Iran, where he is guest of honor at the Holocaust Denial Conference.”

Eastwood, a double best director nominee for Flags of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima, said he was grateful for being acknowledged for “projects that I hold very dear” while The Devil Wears Prada star Meryl Streep, nominated for best comedic actress, said she “can’t wait for THAT BIG FABULOUS PARTY!”

Helen Mirren, tipped as the Oscar frontrunner for The Queen, noted that among her three Globe nominations, two are in the same category.

“I’m up against myself, which is very annoying,” she joked of her best actress in a TV miniseries nods for Elizabeth I and Prime Suspect: The Final Act. She’s also in the dramatic movie actress category for The Queen.

“Oh, my God, it’s evening in England,” she told PEOPLE by phone from overseas. “It’s already dark. But the sun has been shining in my heart. It’s the Golden Globe effect.”

She considers being nominated “gratifying,” adding: “I certainly know what it means to not be nominated. If you feel you’ve done the best work you can possibly do, and you’re not nominated for it, it’s very disheartening and very upsetting. And you feel like crap, like nobody loves me and everybody hates me.”

Not this year. “Christmas comes early,” she said.

Marcia Cross, best actress nominee for Desperate Housewives, may be pregnant with twins, but she’s still able to prep for her Jan. 15 appearance at the Globes.

“I’m going to the show if I can waddle out of the house,” she told PEOPLE. “I don’t know what kind of tent they are going to put me in. I’m thinking black or navy. It’s not going to be a high-fashion year for me. And I’m thinking barefoot. I deserve it.”

Steve Carell, who stars in the best comedy film nominee Little Miss Sunshine and who is up for best actor for The Office – a best comedy series nominee – told PEOPLE: “I’m very proud of everyone associated with an incredible film and an outstanding series. Rinko Kikuchi, who plays a deaf teen in Babel, told the Associated Press, “I’m very ecstatic. I’ve actually been surprised at all the reactions that I’m getting to my performance, and this one was a big surprise as well.”

But fear struck Grey’s Anatomy nominee Katherine Heigl when her phone rang before dawn. “My mother called,” Heigl told PEOPLE, “and my first reaction was something was wrong. Grandpa died. I’m terrified. My mom’s crying and I really thought something was wrong.”

But then Mom broke the news: Heigl had been nominated for her Grey’s role as Dr. Izzie Stevens.

“I was really surprised. This was my first anything. I’ve never even won a trophy for sports or anything. This is really thrilling,” said Heigl, who in June became engaged to singer Josh Kelley.

“It’s been a pretty big year,” she said. “Now I’m getting nervous. I’m such a pessimist. When is the other shoe going to drop?”

For Sleeper Cell nominee Michael Ealy, the alarm wasn’t just set to hear about the Globes. Thursday was also his first day of jury duty.

But right when the clock went off, so did his phone – his agent calling with the big news.

By the time he spoke to PEOPLE later in the morning, he was already “at jury duty right now. I just walked into the courthouse,” he said, joking that he wouldn’t dare ask the judge to set him free so he could go shop for a tux.

“Then they might really stick me in there,” he kidded. “No preferential treatment.”

Meanwhile, Justin Kirk, in the running for playing the slacker brother-in-law on Weeds, noted that this was not his first recognition for his work on the marijuana-scented Showtime series: In October he got a Stony Award from High Times magazine.

“The only reason I want to win the Golden Globe is so I can make it into a bong,” he joked.

I love what AJ said about the Xbox and how the kids won’t get too spoiled, so that when they go other places they can still gave fun with no toys - and won’t be bored. They’re amazing parents!

Also, to the people wishing Brad would say something. How quickly they forget that due to Maniston, Brad really can’t say anything without making the sitch worse. If you recall, Maniston had Cox tell VF, that Brad told Maniston that he was “attracted to AJ, and that he fought it for a long time.”

I think THAT in part, is why Angelina is being as honest as she’s being right now, because believe it or not, it takes some of the heat off her man. It’s not just Brad going after and being hung up on clueless Angelina (and believe me, because NOTHING happened, she could have played it that way - she didn’t have to talk about her feelings) She could have essentially said what she said, but left out examining her own feelings in public, but Angelina knows what was revealed in Maniston’s VF piece and she didn’t want Brad twisting in the wind all by himself…like he was the only one who was feeling what he was feeling.

The only thing Brad could say - is what he’s said already…they had stopped growing, they weren’t on the same page, they weren’t trying, the language they used to describe their partner and relationship was unenthusiastic and businesslike, BEFORE AJ was on the scene.

I read that and wondered what in the world was going on here! :)

Although I have been a long time fan of Angie’s I never really took the time to learn every detail. Once the buzz about her and Brad grew to a roar I started paying closer attention but the only info I was being fed was tabloid info. I know, I know that they lie. I always tell my mother to stop buying those things but they would have pictures that would make me interested. I only discovered this site while Brad was filming O13 so I’ve been trying to learn as much as possible from you guys and when I try to get further clarification I think I was getting so frustrated! :lol:

Kitty Kelley has chosen Oprah Winfrey as her next subject for tell-all, unauthorized biography. “Oprah Winfrey has fascinated me for many years — as a woman, she has wielded an unprecedented amount of influence over the American culture and psyche,” Kelley said in a statement issued yesterday by the Crown Publishing Group, an imprint of Random House Inc. The book does not yet have a title and a publication date has not been set. Financial terms were not disclosed. Kelley, whose many best - sellers include biographies of Frank Sinatra, Nancy Reagan and the Bush family, has a long history of writing books as loathed by their subjects as they are fascinating to readers. Gussie, I know so many people who were THE PILL poppers, and still popped out a little one. There are some swimmers who the pill just looks at them, steps aside and waves them on in the eggland! Anyone with the sense God gave a chicken even should not dare believe that she was lying should it be determined they’re pregnant again.
