Jennifer Garner was spotted doing a bit of Christmas shopping yesterday afternoon at Barneys in Beverly Hills with hubby Ben Affleck and 1-year-old daughter Violet.
Ben recently spoke to USA Today about parenting: “I’ve never been very judicious about my own behavior or choices until they had an impact on people other than me. Obviously, my wife. And my daughter, who’s going to have my last name – I don’t want her to mutter it over a drink. I want her to be proud of her old man.”
He also spoke out about not selling baby Violet’s pictures to magazines: “”We just didn’t sell them – that was the thing. I’m extraordinarily lucky and privileged and I’ve tried not to be bitter, but I have developed a reactionary defensiveness. But for my child, she didn’t make the bargain I did. She didn’t make that choice. And I don’t want her to have to pay for the parents’ sins. I try to protect her privacy. I’ll end up in the magazines, and that’s life, and I can live with it, but I try to shield my daughter.”
Ben’s directorial debut, Gone, Baby, Gone, is due in 2007.

Ok, well first of all I just want to say that I know Michael Vartan, and he is the nicest person you will ever meet. Ok, second of all JG and MV’s relationship was very brief, and didn’t last long only because they were not right for each other. I mean here is Michael the sweet, cute, and loving type. Then here is Jen Garner which is well, not cute. And I don’t know her so I can’t say she is mean or anything, but I think it was low for her to just drop Michael like he was just another one of her “boyfriends”. She just loves her co stars. Anyway, this was years ago, so it’s not like it matters. But for what it’s worth, Vartan did not deserve being written off Alias. And I think that wasn’t a smart move anyway cause they lost all there viewers. =p I think that Ben and Jen are more alike and I hope for Violets sake they stay together.
Can’t Ben ever carry Violet? Really..can he look anymore interested..
Give it a rest, guys. We live our lives the best we can, and ALL of us have hurt people and made drastic mistakes. I’m the first one to admit that, but fortunately my kids forgave me long ago. All we can do is wish Ben and Jen well, for Violet’s sake if for nothing else. It’s tough to be famous and instantly recognizable, and someone is always waiting to criticize. Thank God at least these two don’t get stoned, puke in public and forget to put on underwear.
ps. If Michael Vartan is such a great person and wonderful actor, where is he now?
I think that they are a lovely family and they deserve every happiness life has to offer. As for all the negative people commenting negative comments they oviously do not like seeing happy couples because they like to see the drama. Negative people are also not happy in their selves or their relationships or their lives. It’s sad! Therefore, they take delight in seeing people unhappy in relationships for the reason they are not happy. MISERIE LOVES COMPANY. Advice: try to be happy for people.
YOU GUYS HAVE NO LIVES OF YOUR OWN SIMPLY FOR THE REASON YOU HAVE SO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS TO TYPE NEGATIVE COMMENTS. I THINK EVERY PERSON IN THE EARTH SHOULD HAVE THEIR LIVES ON A SCREEN, WHILE HAVE OTHERS COMMENT NEGATIVE/ NASTY STUFF. HYPOCRITES!
LEARN TO BE HAPPY FOR PEOPLE EVEN IF YOU DON’T HAVE LIVES.
