OT: enough about the skinny model issue. I understand the outrage over skeletal models but in the fashion industry models are supposed to represent HANGERS. They can’t parade hangers so they choose the models to show off the clothes. Twiggy from the 60’s was the skinniest model in the history of fashion. The African models have all been super skinny. It’s always been that way but all of a sudden it’s an issue. It’s about the clothes not the person wearing it and I think that’s what the problem is. People think that the person modeling the clothes on the runway is the focus, it’s not. It supposed to be on the clothes. Curvy may be in Hollywood but Hollywood is not the fashion industry. Two separated industries. What next, outrage over the weight of Sumo wrestlers? They are supposed to be that big.
Or outrage over the height of NBA basketball players. How dare someone be 7ft tall, it’s not reality.

The sorority girl who excitedly e-mailed a couple dozen of her bestest pals about the night she supposedly spent playing snuggle-bunnies with a Jennifer Aniston-less Vince Vaughn in Budapest late last month is waggling her finger at our celebrity-obsessed culture.
“In the last few weeks, my world has become a whirlwind of reporters, publicists, cruel Web sites and harassment from people who feel my business is theirs, and words of sympathy from those I love,” the pity party-tossing Texas co-ed writes in an open letter (via the San Antonio Express-News). “What happened to me … was unfortunate, yes, but I am certainly not alone. Every day in the media, people are criticized, demeaned, and laughed at without rationale. We take pleasure in hating celebrities and public figures for no apparent reason …”
While the 20-year-old concedes that squealing details of her brief encounter with the baggy-eyed funnyman (”We didn’t have sex, but it was just as good :) …”) in an easily forwarded e-mail might not have been the wisest idea, she’s still smarting from the harsh lesson she’s learned about pop culture’s standing in society.
“There are more Web sites and magazine articles dedicated to hating and gossiping about Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton than to informing young people about the crisis in Sudan, or the conflicts in Lebanon,” writes the fuming student.
Not only that, but “we follow Britney’s first nights out without Kevin more closely than we follow America’s first female Speaker of the House. Is this really where we want the priorities of our culture to lie?”
Eh, she shouldn’t worry. As Lindsay made clear in her rambling, Al Gore-referencing e-mail last week, she has a more than “adequite” handle on “how our society should be educated on for the better of our country.”
On the plus side, Vaughn was gentlemanly enough to get back in touch with his Hungary hookup and offer some words of advice, although judging by her chattiness with the press she hasn’t taken his hard-earned wisdom to heart.
“He has contacted me and the conversation has been merely about the quickest way to make this go away,” she tells the Express-News. “He said that ‘you have to take the tabloids for what they are.’”

i guess im the only one who enjoyed the interview? I didnt mind LK.. same old same old… but it was the people he was interviewing that made it for me. Angie was so great.. im glad i didnt miss it.. i loved watching the interplay between her and deniro and matt.. they clearly all like each other and respect deniro soo much. Angie answered all the questions asked of her in such an incredible way.. it was her answers that made the questions seem better than they were.

To those who are waiting for Charlie Rose, it is so worth the wait. So far, the interviews are excellent. And Deniro, while shy, is doing very well with the questions. So is Matt. And Angelina… she isn’t the center of the whole discussion; the movie is. And because she’s not the center, she seems much more relaxed and enjoyable.
You guys are making me so jealous. I guess it’s not coming on here until 11pm.

Angelina Jolie Will Play Widow of Slain Journalist

Angelina Jolie will play Mariane Pearl, the widow of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, in a movie produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company, Pitt has confirmed to PEOPLE.
“The film will focus on the deep collaboration between people around the world in search of Daniel in 2002,” Pitt tells PEOPLE. “We hope the film can increase understanding between people of all faiths and portray the story and the people involved as honestly as possible without anger or judgment.”
Contrary to reports claiming that Pitt’s ex, Jennifer Aniston, was earlier cast as Mariane Pearl, a rep for Pitt and Jolie tells PEOPLE, “Jennifer was never attached to that role. When the project was first brought to Plan B, Jen was a partner in the company at the time.” Pitt has been developing the project with Mariane Pearl for two years.
The film will be adapted from Pearl’s memoir, A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl, which chronicles her experience after her husband was abducted by Islamic extremists in Pakistan in early 2002. A month later, his captors released a video depicting his murder.
Pearl, a French journalist, was pregnant when her husband was kidnapped and gave birth to their son Adam in May of that year.
“I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book,” Pearl said in a statement released Thursday by Paramount Vintage. “I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to.”
The film will start shooting in the fall. It is Jolie’s first dramatic role since the May 27 birth of her daughter with Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel.
Earlier this week it was reported that Jolie will lend her voice to the DreamWorks animated feature Kung Fu Panda, in the role of Tigress, a martial arts teacher. The film, due next May, also stars Jack Black.
Wow, it’s first time I’ve come on today and seen these beefcake photos of Brad…but he never appealed to me until he left that drip he was married to and hooked up with a real partner. That showed he had some brains.

I didnt think the questions were so private… not really for this type of interview… at least he didnt ask how it was different kissing matt than it was to kiss brad, even though i liked angies answer.. i still thought that question was out of line because what she actually asked was.. how was it different ON SET, to kiss matt compared to kissing Brad. But angie didnt go there and just replied on e is a friend and the other is my love. Great answer Angie, but low blow from DS.

Thanks for pointing that out leni, that’s why in the couple days before we heard Angie’s answer to that stupid question, I literally had steam fumming from my ears -because I knew Diane was going for a ‘Gotcha’ moment with Angelina. It was so f**kin’ RUDE, I wanted to SPIT! UGH! So I was scared and worried over whether AJ would be tripped up, or if Matt would rush in to answer w/ something funny - I was racking my brain and praying that AJ would have something fierce to say - and BAM!! two days later we hear she slays them with the ‘One is my friend, one is my love,’ remark….anyone know what the look on Diane’s face revealed…LOL, I would have loved to have seen that. Muahahaha! But still, Diane went down 1000 notches with me over that question alone, and you’re right - as idiotic as Larry was, he didn’t dare go there. That was fookin’ entrapment almost with that question. Diane’s a coont.
Watching CR, I have the sound down…me skeerd. LOLOL But sometimes CR goes for long segments without even going to AJ, which is nice…although poor shy Bobby D probably likes it when he doesn’t have to hold court. LOL Okay - it’s just now going off here! *(by the way, anyone who hasn’t seen Angie’s other CR interview when she’s with the yummy Oliver Martinez, and Ethan Hawke - you have to watch it sometimes…you can tell they are BOTH enamoured with AJ, it’s pretty funny, but cute…and Martinez is very bright!) Angelina’s hair color is gorgeous….I think she took it that light because her hair was so stained from the dark, almost black color she had for Marianne…now when her hair grows out it will be almost the same, but slight darker at the roots I’m guessing…but it will blend beautifully…she should have Jane Smith’s hair color in no time, which I loved.

I missed the showbiz interview. How was that one?
It blows my mind listening to Angelina talk about how her family takes priorty over everything else when CR asked about her making movies etc. I really think she’d give up acting altogether if she felt it was taking to much time away from her life with them, and I also think this is what makes the haters even more mad. On top of being a UN rep, pilo and riding a motorcycle, she’s woman enough to say that her family comes first.
