Snowboarding Makes Me Sore
Back from my snowboarding trip from Whistler, Canada! Miss me much? Doobybrain did a excellent job (as always) while I was away, didn’t he? Anyway, I had blast eating good food, shopping, and of course, snowboarding!! Here’s a quick re-cap –
SERVICE WITH A SMILE :: Canadians certainly are a friendly lot. Never before in my life have I experienced such great service at a ski lodge. The housekeeper at our resort emptied out our dishwasher while we were snowboarding. The workers manning the gondolas and ski lifts removed our snowboards after our ride up the mountain. There were even waitresses to clear our food trays in the cafeteria. And this service was all done with a smile!
MOUNTAIN CONDITIONS :: There was plenty of fresh snow, and there were so many trails, my friends and I probably didn’t even ride down half of them! Conditions are so much better up north than what’s here on the East Coast, it (almost!) makes me want to move up to Canada! I’ll be back for sure…
And this is my friend Kim. She’s a goofball… but has HOT BUNS!

Welcome home Jared!!! Just in time for more Jolie-Pitt celebration….I hope you enjoy snowboarding and other fun things to do….
I was in Montreal, Canada two years ago for winter a nice ski holiday - but being uncoordinated, falling down was not at all pleasant. …
Jared, is snowboarding easier and more fun, than just regular skiing? Your pictures look like you guys had a lot of fun….
I haven’t had coffee yet, so , my english is kinda rough (tenses and grammar are my failings…sorry!!!)…
Skiing is easier to learn at first but snowboarding is definitely way more fun after you get the hang of it! Especially when you can start riding the boxes, picnic tables, and rails… and of course doing the jumps!!
OMG, Ninjas on snow!
great pics jared, i’m glad you had a good time. oh my you are already riding picnic tables, i’m impressed, and jealous.
Wow, it sounds like snowboarding has all kinds of other fun tricks, not just going down hill - Unfortunately, I am too old for those kind of tricks, unlike you, your young and fearless - not afraid to live life - that’s the way it should be….thanks….
Glad you had a great time skiing.
Yes , Dooby was a very good stand in. He gave us the latest on the Jolie-Pitts and some other celebrity news.

LMAO! jared, you are too funny!
Welcome back, Jared! Great to see your pictures. Howdya like all them smelly hippies up in Whistler? Actually, Fernie and Nelson are right up there with Whistler on the Smelly Hippy quotient. Man, those hippies love their snowboarding.
This has to be the most times I’ve written the word “hippy” EVER, but those Whistler pictures just got me going.
Jared,
Welcome back! Glad you had a great time in Whistler. I hope you didn’t get caught in the big storm or the Sea to Sky highway while you were up here. That storm probably dumped an extra feet of fresh powder for you & your friends, though. :)
Dooby did an excellent job while you were away. Thanks Dooby!
Hey Jared - glad you enjoyed your time up here in BC - did you get the chance to check out Vancouver at all or did you head straight up to Whistler? Just wanted to point out that us friendly Canadians can’t take ALL the credit for the great service - many people from all over the world come to Whistler to work and play in the winter. I’m sure you noticed a few Aussie and Kiwi accents while on your trip ;-)
Anyway, your timing was great - hope you enjoyed all the fresh powder! Come back in the summer for some fabulous hiking :-)
Welcome back JJ. Thanks for sharing the pictures, you look like you had lots of fun.
my first time snowboarding, I had bruises from thigh to my legs, talked about black and blues…skiing is easier. I can not wait go to the mountain for the new year. JJ you should come here to California, Lake Tahoe North star and Mammoth mouth ranges are awesome for skier/snowboarder too….
coalharbourqt, my snowboarding instructor was actually Aussie. He was loads of fun and taught us “The Penguin.” Basically you straighten your arms along your sides, bend your hands as far as they can go, palm down. You then lift your shoulders repeatedly when your fingers are frozen and it warms up your hands with better blood flow. That tip was a lifesaver!!!!! Just thought I’d share. :P
We went to some… park that had totem poles and a nice city view. I forget the name of it. :P We also had really good dim sum…
try montreal next time jared…..better!anyways,were glad that your back.thanks for the thread.
Western Canada RULES! Moved here at the end of the summer (from the Eastern coast) and I Totally Love It!!!
Proudly Canadian, of course ;-)
Stanley Park :-)
Jared you are a cuttie!! We love your site.It seems you had a blast in Canada!!!
Thank you for all your wonderful job!! :)
I’m so glad you had a great time in Whistler. I sometimes think Canada gets overlooked for the Lake Tahoe’s, etc. but it’s amazing up here. Next time, you should check out Banff, Lake Louise, or somewhere in Alberta. Freaking amazing. And such mild weather!
Had a good time in Canada eh? He He He
Good for you & hope you come back to visit us Canucks… Happy Holidays !
Ooops…! Almost forgot… You must come and visit us in Montréal, Québec. I live “en banlieu” , or as you say “the Burbs”. Good skiing in the Laurentians in Winter but the City is at it’s best in the Summer… Vous êtes les bienvenus !
Looks like you all had a blast =D I can’t wait to hit the slopes sometime this season.
