Angelina Jolie Kills it at Kitson
Celebrity Babylon has some great pictures of Angelina Jolie shopping at Kitson in L.A. yesterday afternoon. Angie was driven to the nearby hotel L’Ermitage where her mother Marcheline Betrand currently resides.
Other pictures include the future Mrs. Pitt in L.A. dressed in a $415 Joseph Alpaca cardigan and a $1,750 Celine Bittersweet bag on Dec. 13.

I’m curious…
When will we be allowed to discuss TGS? I mean, we still can’t discuss Babel because some people haven’t seen it. It seems ridiculous to implore people to see a movie and then promptly slap them down when they want to talk about it.
Personally, I am tired of the restrictions and I want to talk about The Good Shepherd, beyond saying the acting was good and that Angelina was gorgeous. And even Babel, for that matter.

Hey Piper - Personally I don’t care if it’s discussed. I think if people put a disclaimer at the top of the post saying “CONTAINS TGS SPOILERS” then anybody who doesn’t want to read it can skip it. I thought the Babel “no spoilers” bit was silly, too. If you start reading the post and see it’s about “Babel” and you haven’t seen the movie…then don’t finish reading the post! It’s not rocket science.

Thank you. You know I always get the feeling when I see photo’s of her parents that Jon Voight just took advantage of Marchelines love for him and kinda came in and out of their lives until she finally divorced him. He left when they were little, but he seems to have come back and forth into their lives at whim. Now I of course don’t know this for certain, but photo’s show him with them at different periods, and it’s like they’re family situations, but those group/family photo’s of all of them seemed to stop when she divorced him 78, or at least I’ve never seen anymore with both parents that I can remember. Anyway, it’s one more reason why I think Brad was falling in love with. He’s definitly not splitting on his kids.

jpf - ITA and while looking at those pictures, you see Marchelina accompnay her daughter to the hosptial for probably a check up on Maddox. She must have really wanted to be there when Angelina was having her baby but couldn’t travel to Namibia.

cookie - IMO, it is dong very well. I wasn’t expecting a box office because when I went to see it here in Toronto - I was sitting among 30-60 yrs old. I recall a man saying to his wife - there aren’t many movies to see. The only one worth it are TGS and Volver.
in the end, they bought the tickets for TGS. My 3.00 pm theater was 2/3 filled and at the end, we all applaused.
I knew it was 3 hours but it didn’t feel 3 hours at all. :lol: ::lol:

Regarding Edward (Damon) and his son, aka WeenieTot, I have to wonder whether what Edward ‘ordered for a wedding present’ had less to do with the CIA and more to do with his son following in his footsteps, personally, I mean.
All I can say that if WeenieTot managed to get a gig in the CIA, I would seriously be pissed. Yes, I know it’s a movie, but d@mn!!

With regards to what you said about Marcheline letting JV back into her and the kid’s life on and off for a long period of time, I was thinking about Angelina’s statment she doesn’t trust her mom 100%.
The kind of mom I imagine Marcheline to be is one that is very laid back and easy going. When Angelina was a teenager, Marcheline was very laid back in her approach to parenting. She let Angie do many things that many other parents would gasp at the thought of. Plus, she was a vulnerable woman with two young kids who let JV play with her emotions which constantly hurt her and the kids. I wonder if that’s why she said she couldn’t trust her mom 100%. Because even though Marcheline thought she allowed her kids to do certain things for their happiness, it ended up doing them more harm than good. She might have JV back into their lives for the kid’s happiness, but him constantly breaking their trust in him probably hurt James and Angelina. I wonder if that’s what she meant by it. I’m not blaming Marcheline at all but maybe her parenting style ended up doing some damage early on.

you know, it is funny seeing how those cslling TGS are blaming it on Angelina when most people are complaing about how her little we saw of her in the movie.
In fact, I will say, William Hurt was SEEN AS MUCH AS Angelina. :lol: :lol: That is how much of a supporting role that she was playing.
Personally, this movie should have opened at another day than during this festive season because it is ATYPICAL of the kind of movies that we normally see. I won’t say it is like showing “The Holiday” in July but it is pretty close. However, it was a great spy thriller.

Both Matt and Angelina worked for “a fraction of their usual fee”. That information came straight from the mouth of Robert De Niro. So put that nugget of info in your head and let it rattle around in the vast empty space that is your brain.
I realize that I wanted to speak openly about the movie, but I just didn’t have the heart to disclose everything, just in case someone inadvertently reads the post or a hater copies the post, without the benefit of bolding anything.
Of course, I may change my mind and spill, but tonight, I want to be careful.

I think you may have misread or misunderstood what Angie said or have taken it out of context. What she said was that she didn’t trust that her mom wouldn’t do something that she THOuGHT was in her best interest. That’s a far cry from saying she doesn’t trust her mother 100%. Didn’t your parents ever do anything they thought was right for you and you disagreed and you’re the one who has to live with the decision? I know mine did. That’s why I’m not currently the greatest saxophonist who ever lived. But that’s another story.

I do get what you’re saying, and that’s an interesting something to ponder. I know Angelina said her mom tended to be more emotional about things, but I’m not sure if she meant as a personality trait, or simply during that time in their lives.
I remember her saying that she cried very easily, like if Angelina stayed out to late (can’t recall where I read that but I did read it). I think the trust issue is one I equate with for instance, her mom meaning well comes to Angelina’s defense, but in the process reveals something she shouldnt? I don’t think AJ feels it’s a “I trusted you and you dilberately wronged me knowing it would hurt” like with her dad.
I think Angelina adores her mom, but I don’t think they share childrearing methods. I’ve alway ALWAYS thought Angelina to be more traditonal about alot of things then believed. imo
