Cate Blanchett Honored By BAFTA
Cate Blanchett was honored last night at the Princess Anne Theatre in London by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) with a slideshow presentation, “A Life in Pictures.” Here’s a re-cap of why Cate was honored with a major Academy event:
Since graduating from Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art, Cate Blanchett has worked extensively in the theatre, television and film, winning a host of global awards and critical acclaim.
She will soon be seen in Notes on a Scandal with Dame Judi Dench; in Babel opposite Brad Pitt, and in The Good German, opposite George Clooney.
She is currently in production on The Golden Age, the sequel to Elizabeth, for which she won her first BAFTA for Actress in a Leading Role in 1998. She was also nominated for Actress in a Supporting Role in The Talented Mr Ripley and won a second BAFTA for her role as Katherine Hepburn in The Aviator.
Future projects include Todd Haynes‘ I’m Not There, in which she portrays a Young Bob Dylan, and David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, in which she appears with her Babel co-star, Brad Pitt.
Other pictures include: Notes on a Scandal screening at Cinema 1 N.Y.C. on Monday, Dec. 18 and a NOAS screening after-arty at Osteria del Circo in NYC on Sunday, Dec. 3.

Yeah! Good for her. She deserves it.
Hey Jared, thanks for everything. Have a Merry Christmas.
Congratulations, Cate. Hope to see many more of your movies in the future.
pretty, classy cate! congratulations, lady!
Overrated!
Gosh sometimes I don’t get her style…but she’s an amazing actress!
She is one of the greatest actresses of her age, but she chooses movies that are not blockbusters that give her something to really do, so I can see why some just don’t “feel” her if they are into romantic comedies and action movies. She is not easiy accessible. I would love to see her in the theater — she has the presence and they say she is exceptionally gorgeous in person. Her skin is luminous.
She is so intelligent adn it just shows in everything she does. I wish her all the best!
Jared, you and Audrey do an amazing job of bringing us such a variety of celebs and news. Have a great Christmas and Happy New Year and know that you are SOOO APPRECIATED for all you do!
