Brad & Angie’s Quick Visit to Casco Viejo
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were also spotted riding in the backseat of a car during a quick visit they made to the Casco Viejo (Old Compound) in Panama City earlier today. Brad was also seen chatting up an unidentified man outside a handicraft market also in Panama City. Yesterday, Brad and Angie checked out the artwork at the Frank Gehry museum.

Oprah said in an interview recently that she tried helping some inner city kids.. she gave them clothes and took them on educational trips, gave them etiquette classes, etc. But once the kids went home, their families and friends didnt appreciate the changes they had made, basically saying “who do you think you are?” Accused them of trying to act white or some such nonsence. It really is a shame that for some kids who try to better themselves, they get taunted and ridiculed.
I would also like to mention that this formidable duo that the press calls Brangelina are both respected for the work they have been doing for the past few years. I chuckle to myself because just the mere mention of that name give credence and respectable and validity to some other causes. Brad and Angie never do that. As side from the UNHCR informing Angie of where to go, they travel with their adorable family and give where they see fit. Perhaps my assumption is not correct, but this is just something I have observed for a while and wanting to put in writing somewhere…
I applaud Oprah for this school project. So what if it’s over the top? It’s like with me spending 40 cents to get my fantasy fulfilled, then why not? The woman has worked very hard for her money and status. Let her live her dream in peace, especially if nobody gets hurt in the process. And who can say she is going to stop here? I think her friend Gail knows her by saying that she has a maternal instinct. She also identifies with these poor girls (not poor any more!). Good for her. You go Oprah, just don’t try to prop up the undeserving you know who, other than that you are a woman every woman should be proud of.
(off topic - but not really. If you have not seen Babel, then this guy is a good reason to see it along with BP and the rest of the cast. He is cute and sexy and should be on a “freebe five list”)
Garcia Bernal Embraces Mexican Roots
Associated Press 12.31.06, 7:42 PM ET
“Babel” actor Gael Garcia Bernal embraces his Mexican identity, saying it has a liberating effect on his expanding career.
“I feel completely free to be whatever,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “Actually, if I was an actor from the United States, it would be incredibly hard, because I would be pigeonholed immediately.”
Garcia Bernal, 28, said in Mexico any perceived faux pas by a celebrity can draw criticism.
“That’s something that in Mexico they pick up a lot on - ‘Oh, he didn’t give me an autograph, he’s lost it.’ And it’s funny because it’s so ephemeral and so trivial,” he said.
His legions of fans can look forward to seeing him next year in Hector Babenco’s “El Pasado” (The Past), which chronicles a married couple’s difficult breakup. He is also set to star in a film by Carlos Cuaron.
The actor has directed his first film, “Deficit,” which he describes as a “generational allegory” focusing on young, upper-class Mexicans coping with the country’s ongoing socio-economic upheavals.

My new year’s resolution is to not write any more about Maniston/Fraudistion/Phonycopycatgirl
I will only focus on my dear BAMZ who I just love and highlight all the good they ARE actulally doing. I wish everyone on a great new year and althogh it doesn’t seem they need anymore luck, a very great New Year to BAMZ! The true talk the talk and walk the walk!
A happy and bountiful 2007 to everyone. No amount of cajoling and snarky posts from lurker 3 can dampen the spirit of most Brad and Angie supporters. As their fans, we have seen them travel the world and show us their humanitarian crusade to help alleviate AIDS and poverty. They are making a difference in a world beset by conflict and strife and giving hope to so many.
From Oprah
“I see myself in all these girls—the struggles and the hardships that just seem unbearable,” she says. “I have nothing but respect for them. I can’t understand how someone’s who’s been there can’t want to reach back and do something.”
=============
That’s almost the same thing B&A said when they explain why they started their charity work in poor countries. You can’t resist, you have to do something. At least they all have the means to help.
:-0 :-0 - Expect a new round of hateroid if Angelina shows up at Oprah’s party. After all, Oprah is ____’s BFF
In our world today, peace is elusive as ever. Case in point in this thread alone, someone is really trying to push everyone’s button but unfortunately to no avail. Brad and Angie’s supporters in JJ’s site are knowledgeable, positive and good people. The one thing you learn coming to celebrity blogs is to read , skim and skip comments.

OK, one last dig them I am done. I am so glad Oprah picked out china for the poorest of the poor to eat off. I dought Ang will be their b/c JA would really lose it and OD on tans, cigarettes and margaritas and then Oprah couln’t get her favorite guest on any more to drink champange and say “how wonderful her life is and could not be more happy or fullfilled”. BARF. At least Okra was so kind to finally visit her ancestral homeland for the second time in her 50+ years and put up a big building with her name emblazed on it and throw an all out party in her $50,0000 gown and imported food and sleep in a resort. Boy that Oprah is really my hero! Double barf!! I’m done now. I will only forcus on BAMZ and their true good deeds.
I support what Oprah said because when I read the blogs I always see people who ridicle Brad and Angie, they try to sound unappreciative even when some things are done for people in the U.S. Instead of some people to just say, thank you, they sound try to say the effots are not enough. I would rather spend my money on people who appreciate what I am doing.
I hail from Baltimore, MD. This is where Ms. Winfrey got her first start on a local show. I met her once at my church when I was a little girl. She is a very good actress I must add. Please note that just last year, Ms. Winfrey gave monies to a Jewish private school that no doubt, didn’t need her money as they were not going to go out of business any time soon.

Now on to BAMZS news - Are they still in Costa Rica/Panama? Does anyone know when Brad is due to be in NO.? Mardi Gras starts in February – I believe. _________
Missouri fan, same to you! You know the TV book you get with the Sunday paper – CC is on the front cover promoting her new show!! OMG..I can’t win for losing. I ripped it off. I don’t like her or her friends.
I wonder if that story confused INVITED guests with guests who are SCHEDULED to appear?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The South American press said they were leaving Costa Rica on January 2nd. So i’d assume they’re still there.
Brad and Cate Blanchett are expected to be in Palm Spring on Jan. 6 for an award show
Then they will probably go to N.O. to work
Good evening everybody! I’m not in my best form, and tomorrow I’ve got to work. I hope BAMZS had a very good holiday, and we’ll see whether Angie attends that Oprah event or not. My guess is no, their publicist was asked about it and she denied this Africa venture. Which means that the Newsweek is not reliable anymore lol. I’m so sad…
Mainstream publications and the mainstream new media stopped being reliable a long time ago.
Let’s all say our THANKS for Angelina inspiring the big dogs like, bill and melina gates, warren buffet, bono and the country to wake up to how horrible the life of Africans is. SHE is the one who used her power and beauty to inspire all these people and others into donating billions+ to educate and show the Africans how to help themselves which is so much better than all these “aid” outfits who spend most of their money on commercials teling how how much they are helping Africa. B.S. They just throw money at them at walk away thinking they are heros. Angelina is their, in the feild in a tent with one little bag finding out what their needs are and relaying that to the UNHCR, Millenion Progegt. she is the one who raised awareness and now all these bilioniares have donated so that mony will be there for vaccinations, medicine and showing them how to be self suffiecent and educuted and have the rights they deserve. Bravo to her for being real.
Thanks Eid Tsum Sretah!!.

Not to take away anything from Angelina’s dedication to her work, but Bono has been working to help Africa for over a decade. And Bill and Melinda Gates have been long time humanatarians as well. I think the Gates inspired Warren Buffet since Bill and Warren Buffets are friends.
Although I do think Angelina has inspired many people in Hollywood who otherwise would be wasting their money and time to get up and help. I know she inspired Anne Hathaway and Ryan ______ (Rachel McAdam’s boyfriend).
There are those who only do it to get attention like Lindsey Hohan talking about trying to help Africa once and Paris Hilton, but yes Angelina has lit a fire among those who really want to help.
But it only works if people stay committed to the cause and don’t think it’s a one time deal or aren’t just going to galas and charity dinners just to have a photo op on the red carpet. Of if certain people only do comericials or pose in t-shirts and they think they are doing “charity”. *cough aniston cough*. lol.
