Brad Pitt Filming in the Caribbean

Brad Pitt Filming in the Caribbean

Brad Pitt (dressed in a Lacoste polo) and Cate Blanchett were spotted filming scenes earlier today in the Caribbean for their new film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Thank goodness Brad’s character ages backwards because all that baldness and that fat suit did not suit him. Plus, it gave him pimples.

A zit for Mr. Pitt? Well, according to Cate, the fat suit and the prosthetic make-up Brad had to wear caused him to break out in a rash. Cate told Scotland’s Daily Record newspaper: “We went through three weeks of make-up tests and he was covered in eczema from it all. We were talking about what we were going to do because our skin was taking a battering. So I had this girlie conversation with him and put these skin creams down, lined them up in front of him and he and Angelina went around the table trying them. Brad is so smart and generous. He’s so wonderful I love him. I don’t love him in the sense that I love my husband, but I adore him.”

A little more about the plot: As Brad’s character (Benjamin Button) regains his youth, Cate’s character (Daisy) grows older. The movie’s million dollar question: Will their love continue to grow? (I also wonder how young Brad’s character will get in the film.)

Brad, 43, and Cate, 37, were also seen taking a lunch break after filming a few scenes on a sailboat named “BUTTON UP.” Below the boat name is “NEW ORLEANS.” The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is directed by David Fincher (Panic Room, Fight Club, Se7en) and is set for a release between Christmas 2007 and May 2008. Light years away…

meesh! aka Isabelle II @ 01/04/2007 at 11:09 am

we shouldn’t get into worrying about his success as being measured by his awards.
Robert Redford has never won an oscar for acting he was nominated in 1973 for “sting” and he didn’t win, he was 37 yrs old. He did win an oscar in 1980 as best director for “Ordinary People”. Yet look at what he’s accomplished in the world of motion pictures. He’s respected, loved and don’t forget the Sundance Festival. Some actors are in this world to win prizes, others to make a difference. If Brad can do both, the awards would only be the gravy at the top.

As to the trend for movie stars creeping behind the camera, comes now Brad Pitt. You already know his production company’s titled Plan B. What you don’t know is he plans to become - bit by bit, film by film - a full-fledged, all-out producer. And with whom is he specifically looking to produce? You won’t believe it. But believe it. Borat. Can you believe it? The two B’s share art, architecture and film. They’re friends. Sacha Baron Cohen even introduced Brad to graffiti artist Banksy, from whom Brad bought a $400,000 painting. Anyway, they now plot a co-project. I don’t know what. Maybe something about cultural learnings to make benefit glorious nation of Malibu.

meesh! oooops Isabelle II!!!

You did follow my suggestion!

Isn’t Isabelle a pretty name by itself, though? But coupled with Tristan in Legends, it sounds even better!

to ORIGINAL JPF,

I hope that you have got some sleep before counting the sheeps.

About Jackie Kennedy Onassis, I am not sure very much. If I have to compare her to any women in Brad’s life, I shall choose Gwyneth; snop, cold etc.

If I had been the wife of JFK Snr, forget about marrying Onassis, I would and could not have been married to someonelse at all. Onassis, yeak!

^^^^

After I signed off I thought “I hope people do realize that I was speaking strickly in regards to the physical.” Mediterranean, you disappoint me, I thought you knew me better lol. There have been photos/poses/sunglasses worn by them at times that have all made me upon first glance (or second) say “interesting, they look like John & Jackie.”

I hope Cindy Adams is wrong. If not I hope the real life Sascha baron Cohen is better than the character of Borat. Yuck.

There is a magazine article in which Brad was asked about winning an Oscar, and I believe he said something like he didn’t want to be first, he didn’t even want to be second, he just wanted to stay in the game (sorry if I’ve butchered it and hopefully someone will know the article and the exact quote!) He has certainly stayed in the game for a very long time now and is still going strong. As he’s said before, he loves film and loves just being a part of it. Not that he wouldn’t appreciate the recognition of winning an Oscar, but he will be just fine even if he doesn’t.

That will be his second nomination for an Oscar and his is already nominated for a GG and it’s his second time as well.

Actually it’s his 3rd GG nomination.

tabitha,

Sascha did an in depth interview with Rollingstone this year as himself of course. It’s rare when he does that because he wants a private life so far he’s maintained one. Although even he acknowledges that he can’t have it both ways. The guy who did the interview was surprised at how reserved and soft spoken he was. Usually actors who portray really outrageous characters are shy/the total opposite of their alter ego in real life like Michael Myers and Megan Mullally.

Here’s when an interview from 2003 where he’s himself.

I totally agree. Of course I don’t know, but Brad just doesn’t strike me as someone who does what he does in hopes of awards. I don’t think he’d be unhappy about winning, but I also don’t think he lays awake at night worried about recieving accolades for his efforts. All that regarding Robert Redford is so true as it is for his friend Paul Newman who I love, and in many ways find Brad really similar. Even before the personal life comparisons (Paul & Joanna-Brad & Angelina) Brad reminded me of him in that non pretentious, “I can’t believe you’re that fine and not a jerk” way. I think Brad is highly thought of by Bob Redford and Paul Newman because I beleive he reminds them of themselves in many ways.
