Brad Pitt And The Skipper Too
Brad Pitt rode the “Red Hooker” and enjoyed a beer and ciggy stick in the Virgin Islands earlier this week, on break from filming The Case of Benjamin Button co-starting Cate Blanchett. More pictures of baby Zahara playing on the beach with her nanny and bodyguard after the jump!
Here are some select quotes from Angelina Jolie’s interview with Elle UK:
- On looking for the right somebody: “I wanted was to find somebody who, first and foremost, was a great father, because I was already a parent.”
- On Brad being amazing: “We came together because we’re similar. He’s a really amazing father - he didn’t just become that around me. He’s a thoughtful, intelligent man.”
- On Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh: “The world has this opinion about the difference, then you wonder if there is a difference. In fact I found the opposite. I think I feel so much more for Madd and Zee because they’re survivors, they came through so much. In some way they’re strangers because they had this life before me. Shiloh seemed so privileged from the moment she was born, I have less inclination to feel for her. I have to do the opposite from what I expected! I met my other kids when they were six months, they came with a personality. A newborn really is this… blob! But now she’s starting to have a personality. The three of them are very funny together, very loud and in each other’s faces. She’s grown up with Zee screaming in her face in the morning! But, yes, I’m conscious that I have to make sure I don’t ignore her needs, just because I think the others are more vulnerable.”
- On the kids rebelling one day: “We were trying to figure out how because we shoot guns in movies, we have motorbikes and planes, and mummy’s covered in tattoos. All that’s left for them to do is to become Mormons.”
UPDATE :: Apologies, Brad Pitt Beach gallery has been closed. Angelina Jolie Elle UK February 2007 scans have been added.

………………
After last year’s political interlocking race drama, Crash, I was sucked into the elegant intensity of Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s multiple narrative Babel, which boasts of a large polyglot and brilliant cast led by Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal.
Babel channels the global zeitgeist with its message about the need for human connection. It’s an intimate film and yet casts a web that captures lives in Morocco, Japan, Mexico and America, and makes us realise that often the space between us is even less than six degrees.
If Brad Pitt doesn’t get a best supporting actor Oscar for this film, I’m going to throw a hissy fit for anyone who’s bothering to pay attention. His edgy portrayal of a ravaged family man is heartbreaking, especially now that I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with him on A Mighty Heart (thank you again for the opportunity Kailash and Arti), and seen up, close and personal how consummate a family man he really is. Gustavo Santaollala, the Oscar winning music composer of Brokeback Mountain has composed a hauntingly searing soundtrack that post a handful of tequila shots had me drenching the pate.

Maddox hasn’t been disadvantaged for 4.6 yrs nor Zahara for 1.5 yrs. LMAO.
The article is a mishmash of a number of interviews she did with quotes taken out of context and the writer’s comments here and there.
Who did Angelina’s 2003 Elle UK interview? Was it the same person?

What article is a mishmash?

Hey there, since you are trying to stir -up something at least get the quote right.”I trust that Brad would never do anything.”So no pictures yet?Well you might be on to something.Doesn’t anyone else find it a bit odd that she would to a exclusive interview with Elle but no photo shoot?
Thanks, Love.
Good Lord, English is not my first language, but even I can tell what she meant by this comment: when you say “I feel for you” you mean empathy, not love or affection. That’s what she’s saying here, she feels more empathy for her adopted kids because w/o her adopting them, they probably would have been dead. Even if you choose to misinterpret her words, the contex is pretty clear. In another interview she said that she was afraid she was going to love Shiloh more but it turns out that there is no difference.

I agee with you Angie does not need to trap anyone. How many people who would die to be with her.
We should stop this discussion, people are going to believe whatever they want to, it is up to us not to spend two days arguing about this topic.
the X_ fans are always going to twist her word, we have given them the satisfaction by wasting time responding to them.
As for the people that are saying they were Angie’s fans before reading this interview, I seriously doubt this, if you were an Angie’s fan, this interview will not change your mind, you would understand what she meant to say.
Just coming outta lurkdom to say..I’ve enjoyed reading (most) of the responses to the Elle interview. I love reading this blog and although it’s controversial in some ways it has made it even more interesting here at JJ. For my part I’ll just say that I think that if nothing else history has shown that Angelina clearly loves her daughter and indeed all of her children very much- and no amount of oddly worded (or possibly misquoted) print interviews will change my opinion on that. Obviously anything in print is open to interpretation and any comment can be jumped on but common sense should prevail.
Sometimes I prefer actually hearing people speak, I’ve found a wonderful Angelina interview from a couple of years ago - it’s new to me anyway. She talks mostly about her acting and aid work, but there are lots other hints of things to come in there too, I honestly can’t see from watching this how anyone couldn’t admire her. It’s here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/hardtalk/4098423.stm
I agree with Well’s take on the U.K. Elle interview. I highly doubt that it was an actual interview with her, because it’s so far off the path of things that she’s been saying. Angelina has been consistent. I do think they took previous quotes, reworded them and added their own in to make it seem like an exclusive.
Another thing she says, she’d be hurt if they went to Cambodia and were followed, or something to that effect? What? She’s never used that except when she said that she’s had people offer to take their kids to Disneyland and that hurts her.
They used photos that were how old for a new interview of Angelina Jolie? She’s the biggest get right now and the author couldn’t even get a pic of her on set?
Yes, U.K. publications have been known to do this. They’ve done it with Brad on a few occasions. UK Glamour had a so-called exclusive of him in 2004 while promoting Troy where he allegedly said that he and Aniston argue over went to start a family and it’s frustrating to him. Problem is, he never gave them an interview. They had to come out publicly and admit, that they took quotes of his from other interviews and pieced them together while fabricating a few of their own. Another occasion they did it with Brad is they said in 2001-2002 that he gave an interview where he admitted that Aniston was pregnant. Oops. No, he didn’t.

I’m having a laugh right now as I watch Brad in a movie called “Cool World”…..trying to make love to a cartoon character…..and he looks so Johnny Swede-ish………
Being a mom, i know where Angie’s coming from… newborn is quite a boring stage because there’s no personality yet and very little connection coz the baby sleeps a lot and stare, you know what i mean… blob! as AJ puts it. Angie is just being honest and what she’s saying is true. We have to understand she was spared with that kind of experience with Mad and Zee bcoz she adopted them when they were 6 mos. old, a stage when babies are starting to interact and so much fun compared to a 1-3 mos. old baby. And that’s where the difference comes in, she got to enjoy the older kids the moment she adoptd them, unlike Shi she had to wait for her to grow up a little and discover her own personality. Definitely a lot of realizations for Angie. I admire her for sharing her feelings even if it will be misinterpreted by many. Angie is just starting to enjoy little Shiloh, in time they will be a great tandem. BAMZS rule!

True, and they were parentless for 7 months, but it doesn’t stop people from referring to them as orphans. They are Brad and Angelina’s kids, but it doesn’t stop people from qualifying them as adopted.
JMO, there is nothing that Brad and Angelina can do to convince these skeptics that Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh are their children. This will be Brad and Angelina’s cross to bear; meanwhile Tom Cruise, Ewan McGregor, Meg Ryan, Stephen Speilberg, etc. don’t have to engage in ongoing discussions about how they feel about their biological children vs. their adopted children.
Anyway, I’m done talking about this.

Thanks. I really never expected AJ to be there since the GG’s were so close, and she may not be at that one either, but I think there’s a better chance of them together at the GG’s.

That interview with Angie is just fantastic, probably the very best ones, without CNN’s theatrics and “sound-byte” format. It’s a real conversation, uninterrupted, that shows clearly not only how beautiful Angie is, but how intelligent, well-spoken, aware, and mature she is. Thank you SO much marmalade!!!!
438: Thank you so much… I believe that I only saw one of them before, so Thanks, they are great. Maddox plays soccer. Nice. ( Here we say futbol (in USA you say soccer). I´m a big fan of futbol.
So is Brad arriving alone in Palm Springs. Oh I would love to see them together.
He is very tall…question: do you know how tall is he?
It is so funny how anybody could read the Elle interview and come away with the notion that Angie loves Shiloh less. Those people whose life work it is to feel sorry for the Jolie-Pitts children.
A year ago Z was the recepient of this pity. How many of them posted how she will surfer from middle child syndrome because Angie did not have her long enough before getting pregnant and having her natural child will make her love Z and Maddox less.
The arguement made by these posters say more about their psychology than it does about Angie. How can she not feel for her other 2 children when the media and some fans act as though Shiloh is their first and only child, the other two don’t really matter. Even adoptive parent like Barbara Walters always distinguish Shiloh as the natural born.
And for the so called Angie fans who think she shouldn’t say much for fear that someone who has problems with comprehension will take her comments the wrong way, how arrongant is that. If you have ever been been a fan of Angie, then you know from the quote that QQQQ posted that Angie could care less what your thought and opinion are.
PT- LOL at the word meanings for FEEL, which I understood to be empathy in the context of the interview.
Thanks. I really never expected AJ to be there since the GG’s were so close, and she may not be at that one either, but I think there’s a better chance of them together at the GG’s.
++++++++++++++++++++
I think she will go to the GG, after the TGS premiere there is no reason for her no to be there and I agree, I wasn’t expecting to see angelina at this event.
