Brad Pitt And The Skipper Too

Brad Pitt And The Skipper Too

Brad Pitt rode the “Red Hooker” and enjoyed a beer and ciggy stick in the Virgin Islands earlier this week, on break from filming The Case of Benjamin Button co-starting Cate Blanchett. More pictures of baby Zahara playing on the beach with her nanny and bodyguard after the jump!

Here are some select quotes from Angelina Jolie’s interview with Elle UK:

  • On looking for the right somebody: “I wanted was to find somebody who, first and foremost, was a great father, because I was already a parent.”
  • On Brad being amazing: “We came together because we’re similar. He’s a really amazing father - he didn’t just become that around me. He’s a thoughtful, intelligent man.”
  • On Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh: “The world has this opinion about the difference, then you wonder if there is a difference. In fact I found the opposite. I think I feel so much more for Madd and Zee because they’re survivors, they came through so much. In some way they’re strangers because they had this life before me. Shiloh seemed so privileged from the moment she was born, I have less inclination to feel for her. I have to do the opposite from what I expected! I met my other kids when they were six months, they came with a personality. A newborn really is this… blob! But now she’s starting to have a personality. The three of them are very funny together, very loud and in each other’s faces. She’s grown up with Zee screaming in her face in the morning! But, yes, I’m conscious that I have to make sure I don’t ignore her needs, just because I think the others are more vulnerable.”
  • On the kids rebelling one day: “We were trying to figure out how because we shoot guns in movies, we have motorbikes and planes, and mummy’s covered in tattoos. All that’s left for them to do is to become Mormons.”

It seems to me like, there are people who don’t like Maddox and Zahara simply because they ARE in this family period. IMO, these people woould have preferred that Brad and Angelina had ONLY biological kids because to them, that is the natural or right thing to do. Thus, they are inclined to think Angelina draws a line between Shiloh and Maddox&Zahara….and are looking for hints of it in her interviews because THEY KNOW that there gotta be a fine line between adopted and biological kids. In short, Angelina must have issues. She must love Shiloh more. There is no way she can love ALL three. Humanly impossible. Oh oh..look look here… at this paragraph…at this page…she SAID it! But did she?

Then there is the other group that GET her empathy not only because they have no issues with seeing Maddox and Zahara in this family but they UNDERSTAND the ISSUES AT HAND - maybe they have mixed race and/or adoption families or know of friends/families in the same situation, or they are like Maddox&Zahara - oprhans, have lived in similar countries/orphanages etc etc. Bottomline, there is something in their lives that make then GET Angelina in this interview.

There are lots of discussions going on in this family and they are trying to do what works best for their family. We should wish them the best.

Has any of you ever said to a friend “I feel for you”, when they tell you about their misfortune? Would you say to your bf or husband “I feel for you” when you are in the mood for love? Or only when he tells you about some sad things that happened to him? In my vocabulary, “to feel for” is “to sympathize, or to empathize”, not necessarily “to love”. She probably “feels” more for Madd and Z now because the memory of their misfortune early in life is still fresh in her mind. Although, I think as long as M&Z are still looked upon less than Shiloh by other people, she probably will still feel for them more than Shiloh..

ROTFL. Amen, 4Q. For the record. I’m sick of all you lackwitted drones out there who think there’s only one meaning for the word “feel”. ITA. I loved it when Oprah said: “whenever a kid’s life is saved, the angels are singing”. Why find fault with what AJ said in a quoted interview, when we all know she is trying her best to give a good family to all her kids. I wish I could be half as good.

Sheri , I understand what you are saying, and perhaps she chose the wrong words, but I hope she keeps comments like that to herself, because she seems conflicted, I remember when I watch the cnn interview and she said there is no difference, and she was worried about how she would feel, and was prepared to defend mad and zee, and I could already forsee problems, I think Angie is an honest women, but i think she got pregnant not because she was desperate to have a biological baby, i think she did it because that is what Brad wanted, she did it for him, I remember reading in the past, that she didn’t want to have bio kids ,because she felt guilt because all the children that need a home(something like that) I think while Angie is honest, she needs to be more careful, and she did say in that interview that she sure aware that of shiloh needs, but I don’t know , God forbid Shiloh grows up and reads that, what will she think. As I said before, as much as I love angie , that comment should have been kept to herself, She look at and feel for all kids the same, Mad and Zee are also children of privlidge not just shiloh.

+++++++++++++++

What you wish Angie would do and what Angie herself wants to do are obviously two different things. As Angie said in the interview about not having a PR person:

“I don’t want to live in that world. I’ve seen too many people talk about themselves in the third person because they’ve formed an idea about their PUBLIC PERSONA, and don’t know who they are any more. And they’re careful about what they say. If I can’t be honest, then why are we talking here? Besides, I really don’t have anything to hide. I AM WHO I AM.”

Clearly she doesn’t give a rat’s ass if people misinterpret what she means or else she’s spend more time parsing out her answers instead of speaking from her heart. Personally I’m sick of celebs who don’t say what they mean and aren’t really the person they’re presenting to the public. People like Tom Cruise and his Bot Bot, Nicole Kidman and her faux-hubby, Wentworth Miller, Britney Spears, etc. They do one thing, say another and act like the public shouldn’t notice. At least Angie says what she means and lets the public think what they like. And THAT is refreshing.

You don’t have to like what she says or how she says, but I do think people should respect her candor and not nitpick everything she says looking for hidden meanings. We’ve all been guilty of it in the past, but when something is as obvious as the fact that the word “feel” has multiple meanings, you can use a little common sense to deduce WHICH is the correct meaning based on the context it’s used in, then it becomes painfully obvious that people want to believe the worst of her, whether they like her or not.

Elle is all twisted. Enough!!!

What a lot of fuss about nothing. Mothers, and I am one, do feel differently for each child. They love each of them, but it’s different for each also. Not MORE….just different.

I don’t believe this interview is exactly on the up and up because I have never heard Angie use slang in an interview such as “knocked up”. Being pregnant was such a meaningful time to her that she would never say she got knocked up.

I also believe they left out a word or two in the sentence about how she “feels” about her children. I do believe they left out “sympathy” or “empathy” for Mad and Zee.

She even clarifies it when she said Mad and Zee were STRANGERS to her because they were six months old when she adopted them. Shiloh was hers from conception. There were no feelings of being a stranger.

I do agree with the person who stated that they placed Shiloh in the middle of the cover shoot for that other magazine because I do believe editors would erase Mad and Zee from the family picture if they could. Too many people feel uncomfortable that their family consists of different races. It makes other’s racism against anyone of color seem even worse when you see these rich and powerful white people with children of color.

Racism must stop!

As a BAMZS fan, I see so many new people running Angie down for this statement that is not correct.

A real fan would understand what she meant.

I’ve been lurking for few days and this thing about Angelina not loving Shiloh as much as the other is a silly conversation. You don’t have to be a mother to understand what Angelina said. No, she does not need a publicist. This is Angelina. We love her, warts, tatoos, and all. This is just another attempt at some to create strife with regards to Brad and Shiloh. The haters want Brad and Shiloh to leave Angelina and the other children and return to __. Nice try. Not gonna happen.

If you really want to stop something evil, assign yourself to Perez Hilton’s site and stop the racism on Zahara!!!!!!!

People please educate yourselves before you blow things out of proportion. The quote about Shiloh was taken out of context. This is what the Elle article says:

So Angelina clearly loves her two older children, but did she worry she’d feel differently about her biological child? People often seem surprised that she and Maddox are so close, she says. “The world has this opinion about the difference, then you wonder if there is a difference. A newborn really is this…”

“Blob?” I suggest as she pauses.

“Yes, a blob!

SO PLEASE STOP THE HATE AND NONSENSE AND STOP BLOWING THE MISQUOTE OUT OF PROPORTION!!!

Thanks, now back to lurker mode.

Thank God…a non-regular poster with some sense! I hate it when all the trolls come out of the woodwork and haven’t bothered to do their homework and read the quote IN CoNTEXT.

You should de-lurk more often! The more intelligent people here the better!

Well just as I suspected the ignorance continues. This crap has been going on for 2 years now with no end in sight.Jan 7th will be 2 years since X and Brad split.BAMZS fan we just really need to ignore the haters. These people live to hate this couple and it’s sad! What I find even more sad is they have wasted 2 years of their life hating they will NEVER get back.So let’s ignore and forge ahead we have alot of things to look forward to, let the trolls marinate in their hate.

Ojpf, I agree. His pics above do remind me of John and Robert Kennedy. Same hair, same outfit, same size, and on top of that, aboard a boat. He looks so All American Boy in those pics. He needs to get rid of that smoking habit though. Other than that, Angie is a lucky girl.

Isabelle II @ 01/06/2007 at 2:13 pm

that’s no reason not to talk to someone, are you afraid they will misunderstand you? or you will misunderstand them? either way, it doesn’t matter becuz you are a true Angie fan and somehow that will shine through. This is a good place to try to get your point across, say how you first came to know of Angie, what qualities you admired about her that make you a fan. you have to try to learn communication in English, this place is good. No one knows who you are, no reason to be embarassed. Remember you have to practice for your trip to California! :P

Yes, exactly. there are some real sick people on PH. the zahara thread was full of hate. Idk why they would post the pics of the kids without B&A anyway?

You know, everytime Angie say something it time for class. And now that some of you have given them their homework, maybe they’ll go and study.

I am getting an overdose of this ELLE interview. Please move on. I am voting and lurking. It’s so entertaining. Brad and Angie are ahead. Please move number 3 to another space. She’s still close to Angie. I mean the pic in HELLO poll.

Whether this interview and some of the comments in it are authentic we will never really know
++++++++++

Sure, we’ll find out if it’s fake because if it causes enough problems for Angie, then she’s going to sue the pants off of Elle. Surely the reporter tape-recorded the interview? Isn’t that SOP when you’re dealing with exact quotes from famous people? Esepcially someone as outspoken and controversial as Angie? If her quotes are used out of context there’s nothing she can do about that. BUT…whether or not she actually said something? Yes, that she can do something about. If someone as inconsequential as Vince Vaughn can scare newspapers into issuing a retraction over a PHOTO…then someone with Angie’s clout can make Elle spin in circles to correct a false story. If a magazine made it seem like I didn’t love my 7 month old baby the same as my other children…you can bet your ass I’d sue them in a heartbeat and I’m sure Angie would, too.

PT, I can ALWAYS count on your straight no chaser just like Angelina’s. Damn, as many fake folks that are out there shilling and dealing the public what they want to hear instead of the truth, you’d think that AJ’s candor would be a breath of fresh air after all of the stale stagnant and putrid PR soundbites shoveled in our directions day after day. My GOD! I wish I had more of her williness to say it and let the chips fall were they may.
