Brad Pitt ‘Babels’ on in Palm Springs

As a long time Brad fan, I liked him with GP until I learned about her infidelity. When he got married, I mourned because I felt that he deserved someone better even though it is none of my business. My being a Brad fan went into hibernation sort of, I still watched his movies and persevered his red carpet appearances with the now ex-wife. I read rumblings during the making of MAMS. I didn’t really pay attention until the media backlash reach a crescendo with the ultimate separation and divorce. I have admired Angie as an actress and how she evolved into a generous humanitarian and a UNHCR ambassador . It was my sister who worked for the UN who told me about Angie’s good works. I saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith opening weekened and I became a full pledged Brad and Angie fan. Their chemistry so intense that no wonder it translated to their falling in love at some point. They have emerged as a power couple who can draw attention to causes and their moviestar appeal more potent than ever.

You know people are so unbelievably unfair when it comes to Angie. If she talks about
Madd and Zee she hates Shiloh. If she talks about Shiloh she hates Madd and Zee. If she is out with Madd and Zee - where is Shiloh? If she is out with Shioh - where are they other kids, doesn’t she love them? All of this hullabaloo over nothing. It is obvious to me that Angie is a woman with great awareness and she is always walking a very thin line with her children. She knows that people expect her to love Shiloh more than her other children because afterall (she is the chosen one). How can she escape that?
So to me she constantly talks about Madd and Zee because she knows people really don’t care about them -(1) they are non-white children (2) Shiloh is her biological child with Brad Pitt. Didn’t her father betray this very same favoritism. That’s pretty hurtful for someone who took two children in her home, in the case of Zee (had to watch her almost die) and then watch as people dismiss them as “the other two.” Dr. Aronson in the Marie Claire gave us some insight to Angie when she said Angie suffered terribly when she adopted Zahara because of the criticism she received.
Even though Angie says she does not read tabloids - I have a feeling
she knows what a lot of people think of her - whether through tabloids or whatever.
All her life has fought for acceptance for who she is, from her father, the public etc. And now she has two children who are in the same boat as she was/is. Is it implausible that she would feel for their situation more because she is also a person who is not accepted? Shiloh in every way is already accepted. She is blond and blue eyed. She is beautiful. The public loves her, wants to see her, will do anything to get a photo of her. She is Brad’s child. Her birth was heralded like the “second coming.” Of course she loves Shiloh, of that there is no doubt.
People forget the second part of the statement when she says that she must also be mindful that she does not ignore Shiloh’s needs because Madd and Zee are more vulnerable. To me this shows that she has really come full circle as a mother. She is aware of all her children’s needs and is trying to do right by all of them.
From my experience, I have a strong independent boy, who for all the love I show him and give him will still ask when he sees me playing with other kids “Why do you play with the other children but not me.” You see, I too forget that my son who is so strong-willed still needs me to play with him and soothe him.
Ritzy, I don’t know you and I have never really directly commented to another poster but you are way off on Angie. If you have children you would understand what she is saying.

Brad, congratulations for winning along with the cast of Babel~! You look so happy as you clap for everyone involved. I do agree with the earlier comment that the Morroccan cast should also be represented…thinking back I cannot recall ever having that be the case. Always someone from Mexico and Japan, but not Morrocco. That was my favorite part of Babel, and the most haunting and memorable. I sincerely hope they will try to bring one or two of them here for the Golden Globes or Academy Awards….

I am repeating myself by saying Brad looks spectacularly gorgeous, and does not have any “work”. In some posts he’s botoxed, in others he’s wrinkled and old! don’t you realize –EVEN THOUGH this man cannot take a bad picture no matter WHAT angle he is caught from, and he is caught from every single angle imaginable, as someone else said–sometimes the lighting or the camera itself create shadows, incorrect shading, etc? I think it is very likely he is in character (very tan) for filming Benjamin Button, or it may be as simple as a sunburn! He is mid-way through a vacation on an island as we speak, must have left the beach yesterday morning to fly to the festival.

Anyone know who the women greeting him at the plane are?

What “20 questions” are you referring to? I looked all over the site but cannot locate anything along those lines…

Tabloid Says–Can I ask a question? Why is everybody using the word ‘love’ when Angie supposed statement (we don’t know whether it is her quote or not) is about the feeling ETC

This is because people in this country don’t read critically. As a teacher of adults and once teens, people just don’t think critically about what is said and lately it seems like they believe everything they read or see instead of stopping to question as well as believing the worst. There are still stories about Angie being pregnant out there even tho about a month ago she stated quite clearly she is on the pill and they will adopt next time.

Try this little journalism exercise at a party or as an icebreaker or group exercise at work. Have someone the party goers don’t know come in and create a scene–say throw a cake, pretend to punch you etc. and then have them leave. Then either explain it was an exercise or don’t and have everyone write down their account of exactly what happened. You’ll be amazed at the differences in the perceptions of what occured. Same thing happens when people read stuff as well as write the stories. Their bias will be reflected in the postings. Just look at Paris Hilton. Perez loves her, sucks up to her and her every action(s) is interpreted positively while most of the rest of the journalists and bloggers don’t like her and her every action is interpreted negatively. Same thing with Brad and Angie and Mz. Jen.

What also gets me in this thread and the other one is the number of posts about (paraphrased) “I don’t know if I like Angie as well now since she made the remarks.” Probably from the same folks that swore undying devotion to the couple just a few blog entries ago! How quickly they turned Judas to believe she doesn’t love Shiloh, value her etc.

Well, that is my class lesson for today!
