Cate Blanchett Apologizes For Movies

Cate Blanchett heats up the pages of Marie Claire magazine February 2007. Just this past weekend, Cate jokingly apologized for starring in so many movies at the same time as she accepted the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Career Achievement Award (Babel, Notes on a Scandal, and The Good German were all released around the same time). Babel which also starred Brad Pitt took home the Ensemble Performance Award.

she is a great actress, but she is not beautiful. Her nose is so big that it can be compared to a plane!

I adore Cate Blanchett! She is one of the most beautiful women, not to mention one of the most talented actresses of all time…she is a risk taker, in her roles and her fashion, and she lways succeedes…love her!!

Cate is very kind and sweet, but i’m not liking her movies lately.I her performance in The Aviator was great but not so good as that to win an oscar!

The woman epitomizes class. It’s great to see a movie with an actress that completely transforms herself. Also, she doesn’t make idiotic comments that grate on the nerves.

I met cate in london. She was in a play on the west end and I ran into her as she was leaving out the back one evening. I recognized her immediately and said “uhm, hello, can I get a picture?”

I’m of course, the geeky, american college kid studying abroad at this point. She was positively lovely. She took pictures with my friends and I, talked to me about my studies and was so genuine!

She doesn’t have to be the prettiest, she’s one of the most talented. Go rent “Elizabeth” and you’ll quickly realize why she’s so critically acclaimed.

She’s a damn good actress. Looks should be secondary, but unfortunately that’s not how it works for some people.

Great actress and a unique look. She’s beautiful in that odd-almost-ugly way. She has style; I don’t always love her red carpet looks, but I always remember them. She is never going to be confused with someone else. The Brits produce these great actresses in a way that is hard to generate in Holloywood, with its bizarre concentration on symmetry and the blandest possible conception of beauty.

She may not be the typical Hollywood beauty, but she is an incredible actress. I am always transfixed to the scene she is playing.

I think she looks fantastic. I love the green jacket! Say what you will, but she will continue to do wonderful work and look lovely years after the conventionally ’stunning’ actresses botox themselves into the wood. Her features may be unconventional but Cate’s talent and spirit will continue to shine. No one critizes Meryl Streep’s appearance.

Cate is from Melbourne Australia! She seems to be able to speak with any accent (a bit like Meryl Streep) - she’s such a great actor. And very classy too.
